A hot new co-worker and a stranger's bucket list - what could possibly go wrong?Emily Porter likes daily to-do lists, shopping lists, playlists, reasons to dump her boyfriend lists, reasons to stay with her boyfriend lists. The one list Em doesn’t have is a bucket list. She doesn’t need one – her life is predictable and safe. Her job is satisfactory, and even though she has a thing about men who wind up back with the woman they were rebounding from – after Em has fixed them up, that is – her love life is also predictable. Besides, her best friends – Susie Turner and Josh Booth –will always be there to see her through her dating disasters. No drama, no fuss, no surprises – which is exactly the way Em likes it.But when Em finds a stranger’s bucket list in the pocket of a vintage coat and begins to use it to renovate her home – and her life – everything gets turned upside down.As if dealing with paint-brushes, flat-pack furniture and power tools isn’t scary enough, Em has to contend with Jamie, the hot new co-worker who makes her feel as though she’s the lead character in a daggy pop song and has made it clear he wants to be more than her colleague. In the meantime, Booth is acting strangely; and Suse has a secret that could threaten everything…Baby, It’s You is a friends to lovers, office romance set in Melbourne and Bali and is the first book in the Melbourne Romantic Comedy Series.Pick up Baby, It’s You to start this feel-good romance series now!

Hi, I'm Jo ...

I live in paradise – on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia with my husband and a cocker spaniel who takes her role as resident flop-dog and guardian of my office very seriously.

An unapologetic daydreamer, eternal optimist, and confirmed morning person, I write cosy crime, contemporary romance, romantic comedy, women’s fiction and what I like to call foodie-lit – which is the perfect excuse to indulge my baking habit in the name of research. My characters cook whatever it is I want to be cooking – or learning to cook.

Likewise with my character’s occupations. They get to do the things I can only dream about. I did warn you about the daydreaming thing.

Even though I love where I live, it’s my travels that inspire my stories. From Melbourne to Queenstown, Bali, Hong Kong, the Sunshine Coast, Yorkshire and The Cotswolds, you never quite know where you’ll end up, but it will be somewhere that takes you away from your every day. I’m always looking for a happy ending, so that’s what I write – happy endings. Is that a spoiler alert? Probably, but sometimes it’s best to know these things before committing. I write the books that I like to read – so if you like your crime cosy (with extra scones), and your love stories spiced with some travel, a little fun, a lot of friendship, the occasional daggy pop song, and some seriously sexy men then you’ve come to the right place.

When I’m not writing or day jobbing, I love baking, reading, long walks along the beach, posting way too many photos of sunrises on Instagram and dreaming of the next destination and the next story.

My life goals (apart from being a world-famous author) are to be an extra on Midsomer Murders (perhaps a dog walker in Badger’s Drift) and to cook my way through Nigella’s books – yes, all of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this funny, but emotionally-packed friends-to-lovers story. Although it was a light-hearted read, 'Baby, It's You' delved pretty deeply into the serious themes of friendship, failed relationships, and resilience. The lead character, Em, does not have a good track record when it comes to relationships, but with the help of her friends, she's pretty good at picking up the pieces and starting over. Josh/Booth is a loveable rogue, who has a bad record of failed relationships behind him as well. Suse, the third in this friendship trio, is married, but not altogether happily. I don't want to give any spoilers, but Joanne Tracey brought honesty and great wit to three tricky scenarios! I look forward to reading more of her sizzling romcoms!

Do you ever get mad with a book for ending? If you like stories that perfectly blend everyday life with friendship, food, travel and confronting comfort zones...with a side of romantic comedy, then this book is for you. I honestly could not put it down. I also wanted to know more about what happens next. An incredible debut novel!

Baby, It's You is a classic chick-lit story that includes drama, crisis, love, sex, booze, travel, the corporate world, lots of Asian food and a couple bucket lists. It's an easy read and if you like chick-lit, you will enjoy this. The main character, Em got on my nerves a bit but she's still a likeable, interesting yet complicated creature. But aren't we all?

Well done, Jo Tracey for producing a fine first novel. As a fellow writer and dreamer of my own author status, I think you're an inspiration.

Best in a long while

I read about a book a day and today I was very lucky to read this book. As the story developed, I thought I knew what was going to happen… I had an inkling… And then it happened. I was so glad that the narrative went the way I wanted it to go. Characters were absolutely marvelous. And I was right there with my paintbrush during the renovation!

Such a great read!

I just loved this book, the characters, the storyline, the tension and the phrase ‘how hard could it be?’ Jo has written a contemporary and believable story about friendship and love. And I loved the happy ending.

I really enjoyed this book!
Booth, Suse, and Emily...best friends, all sub-conciously thinking about their bucket list - whether or not they really want to. They're chasing their dreams and trying to get their act together before it's too late. Along the way, they run into dramas, heartache and betrayal. It really got me thinking that I should make a bucket list too. A terrific read for a sunny/rainy/windy/lazy afternoon. Read it!
