I was interested in learning mudras in a deeper context than we got in yoga teacher training. However, I cannot possibly recommend an author who believes and espouses such drivel as, "Women should not perform Yoga during menstruation."
I really wish that rating it that it was OK was actually 3 stars. It was an OK book. But, my expectations were rather low anyway. I read this book because I was curious about mudras. I knew what they were but wanted to learn more. I didn't actually feel that I did learn more. I am not of the believe that putting my fingers together in a particular fashion will create better health or a better life. What I do believe is that it is a way to help focus your attention to a mental state. It's sort of like crossing your fingers when you hope your lottery tickets win.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I believe is the best book about Mudras for beginners and it answers all the questions you may have as a beginner about Mudras (use, duration, philosophy, warm up and many more). Is up to the point and it guides you through a number of Mudras you can use and also has helpful pictures.
It also includes as a bonus some details about yoga!
Thank you very much! I will definitely check out some other books of this author!
Short book, 2nd half is advertising author's other books
For me it hard to get past the consistent misuse of "asana's" as a plural rather than using the word "asanas". This book needs a serious review by an editor or proofreader. There were other errors . I also have a serious problem with a book that offers the reader a free book for "...a favorable positive review for this book on Amazon..." . That seems so unethical and totally against the whole mindset of yoga.
It feels like an introduction , though I am a little sceptical about the science. There is a lot of self promotion that is a big turn off for me. I appreciate that the author has done some good research but the mood and flow is quite off putting. As if it were more a commercial venture than introducing a new practise.
My only prior experience with mudras are pictures in books and statues. I now feel I have a basic understanding. This book was written in a format that makes it easy for the reader to use the book as a reference for quickly refreshing ones memory. Thank you, Advait, for the introduction
I enjoyed this book greatly. I had not heard of the Mudras before reading this book. The images and explanations are very concise and clear. I also liked reading the yoga section in the back of the book and intend to follow those exercises. I would recommend this book to others
This book is free on kindle and if you are familiar with mudras this is a handy reference tool and if you are new to mudras he does a great introduction and how to use them which is straight to the point.

This book is for beginners using yoga in hand gestures. It has pictures of the hand positions making it easy to copy. It also gives info on what the hand gestures do to help parts of the body and aiding in good health.
Easy to understand and perform the mudras. Also, with each mudra its benefits, time limit and also its precautions are given. Now I'll be sharing this knowledge with my family. Totally worth it.

This is the first Musta book that I've read. Yes I have practiced all of them in this book and others that the author has written. Since I've been practicing meditation for 45 years and yoga for 43 years, my cousin taught me, these mudras have been a very pleasant addition to my morning and evening. Highly recommend all his books on Mudras, Yoga, Meditation.
