Gabriel Maddox was dangerous. I knew it the moment I laid eyes on him.
A wealthy playboy with a reputation that preceded him, you could hear it whispered from the tongues of every socialite in New York City. He was known to take pleasure in dominating those around him, and when I crashed into him on the street, he made it very clear he wanted to dominate me. It was the last thing that I needed, and yet it awakened an urge within me I didn’t know how to resist. It was a recipe that could only lead to disaster.
Because you see, I lived my life by a very simple set of rules.
Don’t get noticed. Don’t get attached. And most importantly, never stay in the same place for too long.
You might say that I had more skeletons in my little suitcase than most people had in their entire closet. So what should a girl like me do when I run into a man like Gabriel? Run as fast and as far as I can. Except, I didn’t want to run. Not this time.
He made me a proposition. One that was too good to refuse. But the longer I spent with him, the more I saw the vulnerable parts that he had hidden away. He was pulling me closer, tempting my resolve. But it didn’t change anything between us… it couldn’t. The people in my life could only ever be temporary. And whether I liked it or not, Gabriel was no exception to that rule.
Previously titled as 'Victoria's Downfall' The Hunted Series

FREEBIES are often good for MORE than one day, I have gathered all my FREEBIES on a special shelf: Kindle-freebies (currently over 470 books) https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
This has been on my to-read list for a very long time, and I don't know quite what I was thinking when I added it.
I'll keep it short.
We have Christian Grey i.e. Gabriel Maddox, 27 y/o (I hate that name with passion). Cold, ruthless, uses women and screws them, throws them away like napkins. Legitimately bumps into the h, and feels an urge to dominate her. Resembles Grey in features too.
Veronica (h): on the run from something in her past, has a fake name, is 24 y/o. Petite, rocker chick dress sense, mouthy. Tells us she is a masochist and has surprise surprise been celibate for a while.
They screw x2.
Grey... I'm sorry Maddox and Veronica make an arrangement to bang. She tries to cut it short since she's apparently leaving in a few months, since she's on the run. He persuades her not to and they start their arrangement.

This is an honestly hot book. I mean the scenes had me scrambling to find a vibrator. Totally scorchingly and passionately hot. I loved it so much. Written in first person with a dual POV, the story centres on a young woman called Victoria and a man called Gabriel as they embark on an intense love affair.
The story was addicting and it had me hooked from the first page. The characters were amazing. Gabriel at first i didnt like him. He was cold and void of no emotion but damn his words had me pining like a schoolgirl. I was jumping up and down with excitement. Victoria i definitely loved. She is feisty, funny at times and strong. I liked the fact that she didnt fall for Gabriels charm although she wanted to. I sense her past was intriguing and I need to know more.
My only criticism is that I wanted to know more. I wanted to know about Victoria and Gabriels past. It wasnt explained more and would have wanted the author to write the book longer. Too short for me. Maybe if it was long more details would have been laid out. I think book 2 might have more info.
This is a beautifully written book. The writing leaves you begging for more. Page after page i was hooked. Great book with awesome characters.
The likes and dislikes: ~Finished this in a day, freaking awesome! Forgot to make notes, so that's how good it was! ~Parts needed a little editing, as the reading felt a bit heavy, but maybe it was just my preference for excessive commas. ~The scene in Gabriel's office...gosh, I was all but gushing! ~The Berger office...holy hot hell! ~Few formatting issues, might just be my device. ~The first time at Gabriel's apartment...mhmm. ~Would've liked more of Gabriel's perspective. ~Light BDSM, but realistic, as it is a new trust that has to be built.
Notes on characters: Victoria - I love her style, I liked that she wore garters; nice touch. Gabriel - He is an alpha male that doesn't lose his edge! Awesome!
Very little said about other characters, but the pace was great and the setting wasn't too emphasised, as it is quite common. All in all, EVERYBODY SHOULD READ THIS! It is really great!
This book is downright sexy... from title, to cover page to the main characters. The plot is little unclear, as it is a part of series but you’d find yourself glued to Victoria and Gabriel and the boiling sexual tension between the two. Victoria was hiding from someone when she ran into Gabriel, who is a playboy/womanizer. Gabriel knows what to say to women and when to say it. With his amazing speaking skills, he talked Victoria into having sex with him, without any further commitment. Although cynical of his intentions, Victoria found it hard to resist him. Wished there was more to the story. There would be but you got to get your hands on the second book.
I just completed this short novella about Victoria XX and Gabriel Maddox. It's got some interesting BDSM elements and reminds me of the FSOG books out there but Zavarelli is a better writer than EL James. The story of sassy Victoria and arrogant Gabriel definitely got me excited and wanting more of both. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Thanks!
Great story line so far. I like the characters and the story behind them. Author has a great imagination and looking forward to second part of the series to see where they go next x
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were pretty well written and the sex scenes were intense without being gross. My favorite character was Victoria (the main female character.) She's blunt and sassy and she's definitely not naive. Victoria has seen her fair share of hardships. She is on the lam with her best friend, Alanna. We find out that Alanna is running from an abusive husband, but it's never revealed who Victoria is running from.
As for who she is running into, well, that's the arrogant, young, and powerful Gabriel. Gabriel has a tough exterior. He seems to have a lot of experience with dominating women but little with falling for them. He ends up breaking the rules of his own game by getting close with Victoria, although he doesn't let her know it. He even goes so far as to tell Victoria that this is just a hook up type relationship and nothing more. However, you can tell from Gabriel's inner thoughts (POV switches between Gabriel's and Victoria's) that he wants more. Gabriel has a hard time hiding his disappointment when Victoria reveals she'll be leaving town.
The characters are well thought out and realistic. The scenes were well written. My only gripe with this book is how open ended it was. There are a few things we don't find out in this book (which is the first in a series.) We don't find out why Victoria is on the run. We don't find out who Gabriel seems to be hiding from. And we don't find out when, why, or if Victoria and Alanna leave town. The book is "to be continued" so I'm sure we find out in the next book.
Spoiler Ahead This was a pretty good hot read. Gabriel Maddox is a hot rich playboy in NYC he is a alpha male who likes to dominate his partners. When he runs into Victoria on the street he lets her know what he wants. She is also running she doesn't get attached to people or places and don't stay in one place too long. Gabriel was one of those character's that you don't like at first was cold and lacked emotion but he grew on me and I wanted to be Victoria. I really liked Victoria she was feisty, funny and strong I also liked the fact that she didn't fall for Gabriel right away. This book had some really hot sex scenes and very passionate. Both of these character's had some secret's in their closet and I won't give it away but I liked the fact also that it wasn't instant love. I would have given this book 5 stars had the author gave more of a backstory on these character's. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling like the other books that I have read by this author as I continue to read more of her books she is becoming one of my go to author's for dark erotic reads.
From the second I started reading, I was hooked. The opening chapter is perfect and riddled with intrigue. A sexy Dominant and a woman discovering herself, haunted by her past, what's not to love? You can't help but turn pages with this book. It's got the right mixture of mystery and steaminess that keeps the story moving along a good speed.
Victoria is a realistic female lead and her inner thoughts had me cracking up through the book. Gabriel is the perfect mixture of sensitive on the inside, uber Alpha exterior and he is funny as well. I especially love that we get his POV so we can really grasp his character and in turn, completely fall for him. This is a great sexy read that will heat up your kindle. I'm looking forward to reading further and finding out where these characters go.
Smoking hot read for lovers of Fifty Shade of Grey and The Crossfire Series
This was a great start to a new series. Victoria is a sassy, strong and interesting main character that stands her ground. I loved her uniqueness, from the things she wears to the way she approaches Gabriel. He was a difficult character to like at first, in the way that most 'Alpha types' are, but by the end you could see that much of his outward persona was an act. Their chemistry was sizzling and the suspense surrounding Victoria's situation kept me intrigued. Have already downloaded Volume 2 in KU...more bedtime reading!
I enjoyed this story. I really like Victoria. She is a fiesty little thing. Gabriel sounds like sex on a stick. In this portion, Victoria and her best friend are living on the run. After getting spooked, she literally runs into our hot lead male character. He is intrigued and so the games begin... Alanna seems like a treasure for a best friend. She can talk to her about anything. I love Victoria's coping mechanism...Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
From what I read, it's just a shit 50 shades of grey. Stumbling pale brunette? Yep Rich asshole businessman with stalking tendencies and a fetish for rough sex? You got it!
The style of writing was insufferable, I didn't even care what this girl was running from or why, which is pretty poor as that was the main hook and what made her 'mysterious'.
Wow! This one is filled with mystery as Victoria is running from something- we just don't know what yet. And Gabriel? Oh my... I found myself moving at a fast pace while reading and couldn't wait to find out where the story was taking us. I was left needing more at the end and am still wondering why Victoria is on the run. I like the way the two main characters met and the whole thing seems to be a whirl wind after that. Can't wait to read on to see what happens next!
I adore this author and every book she's written.. besides this series. It's very short and very FSOG (which I don't mind) but it was very short, the characters don't really develop cause they're all novellas and so I never connected to the characters.
THAT being said, I love this author and will always read her books, and if you haven't, give it a go (the others not this one)
This is the first book in the Falling into Temptation series, and it is the introduction of Gabriel and Victoria's story.
Gabriel is a cold and ruthless guy. He is not looking for love. He wants sex and lots of it. Veronica is on the run. She is living under a fake name and never stays in one place for very long. She is as sassy as they come and certainly not Gabriel's usual type. They agree to a sex only arrangement. What will happen when these two embark on a wild journey?
I loved this introduction to Gabriel and Victoria. It ends with one heck of a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more!
Hot Sexy Erotica. The sexy submissive Victoria runs into the Gabriel, the hot son of a CEO and hit it off. Although Gabriel is the womanizer type that is easily bored with his sexual conquests, Victoria catches his eye and keeps his attention. She also has an air of mystery to her that draws him in. This is an extremely erotic, well-written book, with hot sex scenes. The only question I had after reading was about the mysterious stoker woman. I was hoping to find more out about the crazy lady who has Victoria on the run, but I'm sure this mystery will unfold in the books that follow.
Victoria is on the run...from what or who we don't yet know. She literally runs into billionaire Gabriel Maddox on the street and he's intrigued enough to find out who she is an proposition her. This is a short story that is part of a larger book that has been broken up into parts - one of my pet peeves. It's hard to get a rhythm going with the story ending so quickly. It also has a lot of similarities to FSoG, but more like a condensed version. I'm on the fence about whether I'll continue with this series.
WOW!! This was my first read by this author, and it won't be the last. From the moment I started reading, I was hooked. The book contained it all, great characters with enough depth to make you love them. You can't help but turn pages with this book. The mystery and steaminess that keeps the story moving along a good speed. Victoria and Gabriel, they are so hot, steamy and sexy. I can not wait to read the rest of their stories.
I didn't feel that attached to the characters. The story was interesting. It wasn't boring. The story was short. I wasn't very fond of the long descriptions... it got to a point that it was almost too much, but thank goodness it didn't last that long.
I definitely want more of the main couple; I can't wait for part two. I was so nervous reading this book because I didn't know what was going to happen next. Plus it is very well written.
Very exciting to to start off a series. A. Zavarelli is becoming one of my favorite authors. So far every book I have been by this author has been addictive.
