She thinks he killed her grandmother.
He thinks she's plotting against his kingdom.
And they have to work together to uncover the truth.

Cerise is a witch training under her grandmother, eager to uncover the secrets of her past. But when she discovers her grandmother has been murdered, she yearns for retribution. And the only person who can give her the answers she seeks is the wolf shifter she suspects is behind the murder.

Alaric is a Wolven Mage who shares a soul with a wolf. As the captain of his tribe, he is in charge of tracking down criminals and protecting his people. When he finds out the Mage King has been killed, he finds evidence that Cerise and her grandmother were involved. With the growing hatred between witches and Wolven Mages, Alaric is convinced Cerise is guilty.

As they work together to solve both murders, they realize the connection between the grandmother and the Mage King goes deeper than they thought. And the more they uncover, the more they realize that everything they thought they knew was wrong.

Including their feelings for one another.

As secrets are unearthed and tension between them burns hotter, Cerise and Alaric find themselves caught up in an elaborate conspiracy that has been ongoing for decades.

And if they aren't careful, the secrets and lies could destroy them both.

FATED TO THE WOLVEN MAGE is one of nine books in the Fated to the Enemy series, a set of steamy romantasy standalones, brimming with epic adventure, sizzling banter, and angsty yearning between enemies who have no desire to fall in love.

I devoured this; I was hooked from page 1 and I loved it. Read it in a day and wouldn't have it any other way.

Very happy with its:
* Dual POV
* Only one horse trope
* Shadow daddy
* Sassy wolves
* Fated mates trope

Hell am I a fan of this author! Since I picked up her first book years ago, she's an instant buy! Her stories put me through the spinning cycle of a washing machine, on high spin! True to form, she's done it again... OMG! Where do I start? This book left such an impression on me I'm struggling to get my thoughts down! Gee whiz, there's SO much I want to say, I'll do my best to contain myself.... A Ref Riding Hood retelling with shifters of all kinds, witches and magic, this was on another level brilliant! Ok, I guess I'll start at the beginning...

Cece, a witch, living secluded with her grandmother, trying to control her volatile magic through potions, has an added weight on her shoulders, she's been suffering from visions, gory, unexplainable visions. Which she pushes aside. My sympathy mode activated immediately for Cece, she's barely tolerated as a witch in Fae lands, she's belittled, she's bullied, she's even set upon by some jerks. Which is where EVERYTHING starts falling to pieces. Fleeing for her life, she eventually finds her way back to back to the cottage she shares with her gran, only to find 2 men and a very deceased grandmother. Not just any men, Wolven Mages. Shifters with powerful magic. Shifters who everyone abhors and fears. Shifters who are known as k!llers. Cece goes to their realm for answers and so begins a journey of monumental proportions.

Alaric's convictions are soon whittled away, he realises he must uncover the truth but never expected that truth to include Cece. Yeah, that was a mind spin for him! I loved this gentle giant so much! He's a teddy bear who'll bite only if necessary. He and Reed are on the hunt for rogue Wolven Mages but since the discovery of Cece's gran, his entire world is about to be rocked. Not only by Cece, who lands the first blow to everything he thought he knew. What I adore with this author, there's no insta love or lust, she allows the characters to go through realistic thoughts and actions of disdain, bias, preconceptions and realisation. Oh how I loved the conflicting emotions from both of them, from the mistrust, to the eventual acceptance, made is all the more exciting. It's hard to capture the beauty of these 2 distinctly different personalities, the patience and understanding of Alaric counters the confusion of Cece, until, I wanted to weep with joy when Cece finally DOES accept, "I love you because I choose to". Alaric melted my heart more than once and these words, swoon, just swoon, "My heart and soul are yours, witchling. Now and forever.”

This story is a lot more complex than shifters and witches at odds with each other. The author winds in major political strife and court intrigue, hidden agendas, lies and vile experimentation but, most importantly, a supremely credible balance of personal growth through awesome revelations. In this fabulous duel POV, I entered into the heads of both MCs, much like their wolves, who definitely need a mention! Stifled and oppressed Sasha, protective Tavik, are simply divine in their own right. Good glory, the twists were so startlingly contorted, Houdini would have been proud! I won't bore you with more gushing, suffice to say, I was blindsided so many times by this blissfully gorgeous read, all I can conclude is, well done Ms Perez, well done!

This story was SO MUCH MORE than I expected!

The blurb was giving enemies-to-lovers vibes, so I went in expecting hate, chaos, and magic. And don't get me wrong, we definitely get those things! But what I WASN'T expecting was the mystery-solving aspect, and that turned out to be my kryptonite.

I have quickly learned that fantasy mysteries are my weakness. Once I start trying to figure out what's going on, I CANNOT STOP READING.

What starts out as a missing person/murder mystery quickly spirals as more and more mysteries pile on top of each other. Every time I thought I had a handle on things, there was more to uncover. And the ending? HIGHLY satisfying!

But I won't tell you anything more than that because seriously, what's the point of reading a mystery if someone spoils it for you?! No spoilers from me. EVER.

Now let's talk about the characters: Cerise, Alaric, and Reid.

I'm starting with Reid, our side character, because apparently I have a thing for annoying sidekicks. Is he annoying? YES. Did I want more of him? ALSO YES. Honestly, my only complaint about this book is that I didn't get more of Reid. I can't explain it, but I just wanted more of his annoying self!

Then we have Cerise, our FMC, who brings plus-size and ADHD representation to the story. Her struggle with self-acceptance genuinely broke my heart. I related to her on so many levels, and that connection made it even easier to fall into this story. I loved getting to know her, and I was rooting for her throughout.

And then there's Alaric, our MMC and wolf shifter. When we first meet him, he comes across as a bit of a one-note, tough-guy MMC. BUT DO NOT LET THAT FIRST IMPRESSION FOOL YOU. As the story unfolds, we discover there is so much more to him than that initial introduction suggests. He becomes a much more layered character, and I loved seeing those layers revealed.

The world-building was also much more in-depth than I expected for a standalone. We get a world full of fae, witches, and shifters, all of whom despise each other while somehow coexisting. Their relationships and tensions play a role in the story, making the world feel like more than just a backdrop for the romance and mystery.

Between the mystery that kept me glued to the pages, the characters I connected with, the enemies-to-lovers vibes, and a magical world full of people who apparently cannot get along, this book had me hooked!

If you love fantasy mysteries, magic, plus-size FMCs, ADHD representation, wolf shifters, and enemies-to-lovers, add Fated to the Wolven Mage to your TBR!

And if you see me reading another fantasy mystery soon, just know I have absolutely learned NOTHING.

I received this advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The tension is sooooo dang good in this book! It cuts so deep it will make you want to cry. Alaric is the sweetest golden retriever wolf shifter ever. I love him to bits, and omg he is such a good dude. I love it when the MMC isn't just a complete butthead, and is willing to put in the work and time for the woman he loves. Cerise is a bit more on the childish side, but I really like her too. They have really good chemistry, and they compliment each other nicely.

The worldbuilding is amazing, the descriptions are lush, and the magic system is interesting. This book will grab you and not let go at all. I read this whole thing in 2 afternoons because I just couldn't stop. The twists and turns just keep coming too!

Overall this was a fantastic take on the Little Red Riding Hood story, and not one you want to miss!

before we begin … i would like a moment of silence …
a moment of silence because the mmc was a shadow daddy & while he used his shadows for the good of his people … he did NOT use his shadows for any fun times with the fmc 😫

…

❣️this book was given to me as an ARC but in no way, shape of form does that influence my opinion or review. Every thought is my own: chaotic, emotional, unhinged but honest like always - & thanks to the author for allowing me to read this ARC❣️

ok so … Grandma “Gran” sounds like a nice enough lady she’s making me suspicious of her … why does she insisting that Cece take the tonic every day? 🤔 she knows some of the ingredients suppress magic & keeps powers dormant (though from what Cece says … she still has her powers available) & also the secrets & stuff she refuses to talk about with Cece … grandma … don’t let me down!

heading into the second chapter, i realized this is a dual POV book & i LOVE me a good dual POV … BUT the chapters weren’t labeled to whose chapter we were reading so until you read a few sentences or a paragraph into the chapter, you didn’t know which POV it was & this happened thru the whole book except the last chapter where that one WAS labeled “The Witch” so i think it’s a little whoopsie & it might get fixed before publishing

so now let’s talk about Alaric & him being a shadow daddy … because like i said, he has shadows & shadow wolves & he doesn’t use them for fun times with Cece 😭 not that i expected him to use the shadow wolves unless Cece has shadow magic & shadow wolves … which she doesn’t but all we got were some shadow cuffs (which i was EXCITED about) but he only used them to suppress Cece’s magic while she was being held for questioning 😭 but while i am heartbroken about it … i’m not mad about it especially since we got ACTUAL fated mates with a soul bond! i swear previous books i have read have made me question a lot of things 😆 so now actual bonds in fated mates makes me be a lot more thankful for seeing it shown 🥹

i figured early on what was happening with Cece, the tonics, the volatile magic & the voice in her head but it was still very well written it’s not like it was obvious but my detective skills are GOOD so i definitely figured it out but i can always appreciate the journey there if it’s well written like this one 👏

i also like me a good inventive curse word but “storms” as one? 🤔 idk how i feel about it … definitely not terrible for sure but still 😅

talk about manipulating the situation to your benefit! so Alaric & Reid barge into this cottage & see a dëad witch there (granted they wanted to help but still) they see the body there & when Cece discovers then & would obviously think they had something to do with the body they somehow turned it into her needing to be taken into questioning to find out the “truth” when they weren’t even in their lands? & that wasn’t even their home? & not only that but they get Cece to their lands & end up taking her to the dungeons??? i just came from a book where the FMC was held in the brig & she almost diëd … MMCs please stop doing this to your FMCs because idk how they hold it together 💀

so halfway thru the book … i am glad to report that this book was marketed as giving red riding hood vibes & IT DELIVERED!!! we got Cece with a red riding hood, we got a grandma who lives in a cottage, Cece heading to Gran’s cottage (they live together but still counts!) & Gran getting offed by what very well could be a wolf & yes … all red riding hood vibes & i also appreciate this 💯

Reid fell out of my good graces as soon as he made a rude AF comment about Cece’s size. such an ässhoke move & i get it … he doesn’t like witches & thinks she’s responsible for a crime & he can be suspicious about her but treat her that way? absolutely not! i let it pass when he knocked her unconscious because it was needed & even though he DID try helping uncover the truth later in the book he had already fallen out of my good graces … BAD Reid! 😒

i LAUGHED at how much of a reach the chiefs had to do to find ANYONE who couldn’t the next king which so happened to be Alaric 😂 “she had a second cousin …” … “who was the stepfather of Alaric’s father” 💀 it’s giving a friend of a friend who knows a friend who has a cousin who has a dog who has an owner who has a house how has a man who lives there” 😂

GRAN!!! WHAT DO MEAN REPLACING THE HEART?!!! gran really out here mad scientist-ing shıt! Gran!!! i trusted you! well … tbh not 💯 but still! you had a sliver of trust & you broke it 😭

slow burns will one day be the end of me … i can alleviate a good slow burn but … sometimes … they love to törture me 😫 their first “kiss”’was a forehead kiss which is cute & all but oh man! was i READY for their actual kiss & other happenings going on 🙂‍↕️ except … maybe that scene with them in the beach 💀 it SOUNDS fun but have you ever gotten sand all over your nooks & crannies?! NO ONE is having a good time in that 💀

Cece lost points with me when she became so self centered & selfish (in a way) when she found out ALL the truths … yes it’s a lot to take in & A LOT happened but girl! why you out here questioning your souls bond?! & being a bıtch to Alaric about it too! girl! don’t make me come punch you 🤨 i understand her frustration & getting overwhelmed but she’s a witch … she knows magic & other magical beings exist but she lost it with a soul bond? & ALSO went berserk on Sasha??? Sasha tired to help her & was understanding after everything she wine thru & Cece just pretty much tries kicking her out??? yeah … points lost … she knew what could happen by doing that to both Alaric & Sasha & she didn’t care until she saw what her actions was doing to them 😑

HOLY MOTHER OF PLOT TWISTS 🤯 i guessed a good amount earlier but THIS? definitely not this! i had my theories but oooh man! this was a good plot twist! no wonder the wolf attacked & was so pissed!

i really enjoyed this book! the magic, the wolves, the fated mates 🤌 & the journey kept me hooked! i had questions, predictions & got annoyed with some characters but it all went very well together! the plot twist was amazing! but i am still going to mourn the no shadow fun activities 😭💔

I received a ARC copy of this book from the author and though a review wasn’t required, I wanted to offer my honest, voluntary impression upon finishing it.

A fast paced story about a witch who is struggling with her powers but is tormented by recurring dreams she knows nothing of. She has been taught to hate wolven mages and after escaping from Fae and spending the night in the forest, she returns to the cabin she shares with her grandmother to find her grandmother dead and two wolven mages there. They tell her they didn’t kill her grandmother but she doesn’t believe them. However, she is overpowered and is taken by them to ascertain if she is telling the truth about what they found in her grandmother’s hand.

Thus the story begins full of intrigue, suspense, hatred between both the witches and mages and as the story develops a lot of secrets kept from Cerise by her grandmother, including information about what she was doing and who she was collaborating with as suspicions form that she and a mage were behind the assassination of the mage king himself!

There are many secrets her grandmother kept from Cerise including who and what she is but they and others are revealed as the story unfolds. It’s a story you don’t want to miss as the story captivates you outright and you yourself want to know the answers yourself that Cerise is pursing!

I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this book as one you’ll enjoy reading and pondering over as you read it! It’s a page turner for sure that you’ll be hard pressed to put down because the story is so fascinating!
Even though you know it’s fictitious. you won’t be able to put down the book because the characters suddenly seem all to real and you are vested in their search to expose the person(s) involved in not only getting justice for Elvira but also exposing the corrupt individuals who helped bring her down. Then a plot is uncovered which points towards to governing body of mages themself!

You will love reading this book as Cerise discovers who and what she truly is that her grandmother’s was trying to keep from her!

Well, there you go, here's another remarkable 5-star romantasy read penned by R.L. Perez. After having enjoyed several of her previous books I've rated similarly, I'm definitely no longer surprised.

There are two things now I've observed to be true of Ms. Perez's romantasies. One, her stories never carry a prolonged dull moment. This book in particular carried more than 430 pages, but I never felt as though there was a page I wanted to skip just to move the story forward. Something interesting was always happening. There was constant action, the evolution of the plot was fast that you couldn't afford to miss a page or else miss something important happening. I held on to every word, and it helped that the writing was clear and engaging. I could keep on reading and reading without realizing how many chapters I've already consumed in one sitting.

The second true thing I've realized about Ms. Perez's romantasies is that she has mastered the enemies-to-lovers trope. For me personally, I have to find the transition from enemies to lovers quite convincing and smooth. I need to find the gradual but decisive change in the main characters' opinion of each other becoming more and more positive. If I find that the change in opinion is sudden and drastic, I know I'm gonna find it questionable. In the case of Ms. Perez's stories - this one in particular - the evolution was definitely convincing. Because they started out on polar ends in their relationship, their ultimate union in the end - built slowly but steadily - was all the more sweeter to witness.

Finally, I'd thoroughly enjoyed this book because of its plot's unpredictability. I enjoyed the plot twists and surprises that emerged as the story progressed. Those definitely got me hooked on the book chapter by chapter. By the time the book ended, the story concluded in a decisively satisfying manner, the main characters finally getting the clear happy ever after they deserved.

I received an early eARC of this book for review purposes. The review given here is wholly my own.

Arc review

A beautiful story that started with a confusion, with lies and hidden stories.
Thank you, R.L.Perez for accepting me in your ARCteam for this book! It is quite a privilege to be part of the teams for this series, all the books have something special!
This one has a Little Red RidingHood retelling vibe, with wolven mage shifters, with dragons, with witches, enemies to lovers and a very strong story.
Cerise, the female main character, is a young witch, living hidden in the woods with her grandmother. The first thing that was a red light for me was the potion that Cerise just has to drink daily, and her grandmother 's general attitude.
Alaric is all green flags. A rather terrifying individual, a capitain wolven mage, powerful yet not using his power to do harm. He is down to earth, doing his best to save the rogue wolven mages if possible, or to take them out of the fae and witches' realm and cross to the mages world to contain the rupture.
Is a very interesting vision about shifters, with evil witches that would kill and torture just to gain more power, with people that meet common ground when fighting for their life and finding love,in between the lines.
I loved this book! A 5⭐️ story, with conflict, fight, love and spice, with shared feelings and a man that gives space and love and waits, who doesn't push and judge, who loves unconditionally and would rather die than endanger Cerise. I love the chemistry between the characters and the way they complete each other. A perfectly compatible couple!

I have received this book as ARC from the author and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is such a sweet and spicy Red Riding Hood Retelling that I absolutely adored! The romance did not disappoint at all and I enjoyed the relationship between Cerise and Alaric. This story is packed full with so many fun tropes, struggles, steamy scenes, and writing that had me turning every page. I could not put this down and really enjoyed it!

Alaric is such a sweet man who does everything he can to protect and take care of Cerise. What is not to love? Alaric is tall, dark, handsome, protective, caring, the list keeps going!! They both work together to figure out what secrets Gran is hiding and they slowly begin questioning if their feud is worth it.

I was so excited to read this going in as I am continuing my read through the Fated to the Enemy series. This was also perfect for the Halloween spooky season as it includes wolf shifters and Cerise is a witch! I recommend you add this to your TBR.

I also have to hype up this cover and the dedication was so sweet and made me feel seen. Ugh I loved everything about this!

Thank you R.L. Perez for such a lovely read I am excited to read more books by you!!

This book was incredible. I loved every scene. The world and the stories inside it were brought to life in an effortless way; everything flowed seamlessly. I've developed the bad habit of immediately trying to solve mysteries and pinpoint the "bad guys" while reading books and, while I got a lot of things right, I was not prepared for the way the author stitched it all together. This novel is a beautifully woven tapestry of creativity and perspective when you sit back and think, "Ah, this is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood". It's. So. GOOD.

Cerise is a great representative for ADHD and plus-sized women. She is anxious, fidgety, forgetful, and self-conscious. But she is also strong in her convictions, brave, clever, and kind-hearted. Alaric is a leader who isn't power-hungry but, rather, is driven to do what is right for all - even if no one is on his side. He's humble, honest, and a protector. Their story is full of conflict, twists, turns, and taking leaps of faith.

Tavik is just the sweetest (even when he wants to tear people apart). His relationship with Alaric is really fun to read, and I felt the bond between them. Also - Chapter 33 was ADORABLE. Tavik and Sasha, lying in the sand together, Tavik being there for her just by being present? Ridiculously cute. The way he shows up for her and for Cerise makes my heart full.

I want to comment on so many other characters and situations, but I don't want to give anything away. Therefore, I will simply end my review by stating that I would read this book over and over again because it was so well done!

A little red riding hood retelling, where you are rooting for the wolf.

Cerise has been sheltered with her Grandma, mixing her tonic that is to help suppress her magic, and learning her witchcraft. Sometimes forgetful, but always striving to do her best. She notices her Grandma is keeping secrets, but is unable to identify them. They are not part of the Witch clan, but are not accepted by the Fae either. The Wolven Mages, those that have bonded with a wolf are also feared and hated by both Witches and Fae alike.

Alaric and Reid are tracking a Rogue Wolven Mage, one who's wolf and mage souls are at odds and are at risk of rupturing. They are feral and highly dangerous. They are discovered by the Fae but successfully escape. This then leads them to Grandma's cabin, where they find that she has been killed and meet Cerise.

From there, the story is a twisty, turny adventure of mystery, intrigue, love, betrayal, political intrigue, spies, and more. Enemies to lovers, fated mates, portal magic, unknown identities, shifters collide into a master retelling of Red Riding Hood.

I loved Cerise and identified with her insecurities of being alarger sized girl. When she shows embarrassment and shame to Alaric, and he questions her about it, her candidness about not being the right size for a man and then his response was epic and honestly made me tear up. Then them breaking the bed was priceless.

In a world where there is only hate and distrust among species, there are many mysteries to solve. Cerise, a witch raised by her grandmother, find the only family she has left brutally murdered in their cottage. Meanwhile, Alaric, captain of the Wolven Mages, learns that his king is murdered. Their paths collide, and they don’t exactly start off on the right foot. However, they need each other to uncover the truth about both murders.

I liked the unique way that the Wolfven part of a Wolven Mage is a separate identity with its own name and feelings, just sharing a soul with the Mage. It made for an interesting dynamic.

I really enjoyed the romance, and how both Cerise and Alaric fight the pull the both feel towards each other. Wolven Mages and Witches are known to really hate each other, and because of this they really don’t trust each other. When both are deemed innocent of the crimes they accused each other off though, they slowly give in to that pull, making their romance a delicious slow burn.

I highly enjoyed the plot twists, some were a bit predictable, while others threw me off track completely. Because of this, the overall plot was difficult to guess for me, and I really love it when a book can surprise me in such a way.

If you're looking for a little red riding hood retelling with some amazing fantastic elements, and a plus size heroine, this one is a big time winner. In this world there are witches, humans, elves and shifters. We meet our FMC Cerise, as she's trying to live her life. But everyone know she's a witch, and she's treated as such.
After being chased down by a group of elves, Cerise ends up lost in the forest and can't find her way home. When she comes back to herself, she awakes to find her grandmother and only family viciously perished inside their cottage. It's here that we meet our MMC, Alaric.
Alaric is a Wolven mage, captain of the guard, and while most people don't really know it, he's trying to protect the people from wolves who have gone insane and become rogues. Alaric and Cerise start working together, despite the fact the witches and wolves don't like each other, but they don't have much of an alternative since there's a big mystery to untangle, and it involves all of them.
Wonderful story, rich world, and I loved both of the main characters. Thank you so much to the author for the opportunity to be an ARC Reader

ARC Review - Fated to the Wolven Mage
5 stars! This book was awesome! I'm not normally a fan of red riding hood stories, but this retelling was a fresh take with an intriguing premise - it is such a great story. The pace was excellent, with the perfect amount of detail and world building. It kept me guessing the entire time with lots of twists and turns right up to the end. It has a strong FMC who fights for herself. The depiction of how she managed her mental health was very well done. I loved that this real world issue was represented and how it contributed to her determination to overcome any odds. The book beautifully demonstrates the importance of having choices. It was easy to get invested in the characters and I love how the MMC was with his plus sized FMC. He truly saw her beauty (inside and out) and didn't tolerate others making rude or negative comments towards her. I truly enjoyed the perspectives of the wolves as well. This story was very cleverly written and I definitely recommend it!

Excellent adventure into wolves and witches! This was a romantasy book with it's own world and magic, and Ms. Perez set it up nicely, adding amazing plot twists and romance to the story as well. Our FMC is a witch whose powers have been suppressed for years. Our MMC is a Wolven Mage, a man who shares a soul with a wolf, and is investigating a Rouge when these two cross paths. There is something there, a connection that neither one can explain. After all, witches and Wolven Mages hate each other. Don't they? This was fantastic, you could really feel the chemistry between these two characters from the moment they met. There is a lot of tragedy and trauma that comes up, that they need to work through, as well as conspiracy's and someone trying to take over the Mage throne. It's all very mysterious, but as these two work together, they become closer. I loved that they got their HEA. The spice was great in this, the plot twists were fantastic, but please read your trigger warnings as there are some things that might be hard for some readers. 4.5 stars from me!

This is such a well done Red Riding Hood re-telling. Loved the Wolven Shifters vs. Witches feud. Poor Cerise. I really felt for her throughout the whole book. Her mother is dead and her father is unknown. Her only family, her grandmother, is murdered, seemingly by two Wolven Mage soldiers. It must have been terrifying to lose everything and have no friends. And then to need to work with the Wolven she thought murdered her beloved grandmother. Cerise grew a lot during this book and there were a lot of surprises about her lineage throughout the book. The only reason this book wasn't a higher rating for me is I wanted more of Alaric's backstory and more about the Soulbound. I loved Alaric's combination of possessiveness while also understanding Cerise needed to make her own decisions and respecting her needs and wishes. I loved reading about Cerise coming into her own and becoming such a strong woman after her childhood.

5⭐️ and 3🌶️. This retelling of little red riding hood with enemies to lovers, bantering, fated mates and wolf shifters. The wolf shifter who is the mmc is Alaric/ tavik, he is not fond of witches and hates them all. While the fmc is cerise, she is a witch but there is many secrets in her past that only one person knew and she is dead( cerise’s grandmother). I LOVED this book!
I am a huge fan of fairy tale retellings, and i think this has to be one of my absolute favorites! This one definitely had me on the edge of my seat guessing what was happening, and I was definitely surprised! I read through the whole book in ONE day!

I loved how Perez keeps you on the edge of your seat thinking you know the outcome, and then surprises you with plot twist after plot twist! Finding out that Cerise is not only a witch, but a wolven mage herself, and a royal one at that! It was amazing! I personally wouldn't mind a continuation of the story to see how Cerise and Alaric repair civility of the realms!

Thank you so much for allowing me to join the ARC team and get to read your wonderful work!

Thank you to the Author for an e-arc.

Let me just say, I loved it! It was a pretty solid read and I enjoyed every bit of it.
The male lead is, undoubtedly, one of the best ones from this series. He's such a sweetheart.. and dare I say, deserves a bit better from Cerise. Now, about Cerise... I have so many things to touch on, but surely it would be a spoiler. So, I'll keep it short. She needs to be more mature and do better. Her character was so childish and many times I couldn't like or agree with her actions.
Overall, really great story with the twist of little red riding hood... now where does one find a real life Alaric?

Fated to the Wolven Mage is a richly layered romantasy with a slow, satisfying build that lets the tension unfurl beautifully. The plot keeps deepening as it moves, revealing secrets piece by piece in a way that pulls you further in. The characters feel vivid and compelling, and watching those hidden truths surface adds real momentum. The relationship dynamics are well‑paced and full of chemistry, growing naturally without ever feeling rushed. With twists and turns that land at just the right moments, it’s a story that stays engaging, surprising, and genuinely rewarding to read.

I have read and reviewed other books by the author and Fated To The Wolven Mage certainly didn't disappoint. From the very first page I was hooked and I felt like I was in the story with the characters. I loved the place settings in the story and the author's writing style and the pacing was just right. Plus there was a great cast of characters. I loved the main character's chemistry too. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.
💜 Thank you to the author R.L Perez for my arc ebook copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

If you love to read about wolves, witches, curses, and mysteries this is a great book. There are some steamy scenes but I enjoyed them because there is communication and consent between both Alaric and Cerise. The magic in this story is original and I liked seeing the differences between the humans, witches, and wolves. Alaric and Cerise are a great couple and work well together and grow throughout the book. There were so many plot twists that kept me reading to the end. This is another great book in the series.

Advance reader copy review:

Witches, magic, murder, secrets, and a mysterious Wolven Mage? Yes, please!

I really enjoyed Cerise and Alaric’s chemistry. The whole “I don’t trust you, but why am I attracted to you?” vibe was SO good. The mystery kept things interesting, and I loved the mix of romance, danger, and supernatural drama.

A fun romantasy read with enemies-to-lovers, magic, wolf shifters, secrets, and plenty of tension. 🖤🐺

Shifters, witches, murder, secrets and soul mates. This book has it all and you will be up all night to finish this one.

A plus size neurodivergent witch with a hidden secret, a wolf shifter who should be her enemy but is actually her soukd mate. Can Cerise and Aleric work together to solve the mystery of who killed the mage king and also who killed Cerise's grandmother? Will the discoveries during their investigation bring them closer together or tear them apart?

Red riding hood meets… I don’t even know what but it’s awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed my ARC copy of this next book in the fated to the enemy series. Filled with witches, wolven mages, murder, mystery, magic, and some spice added in. This was an adventure right from the get go. You know it’s good writing when you can feel the sadness or anger coming from the characters and you just wanna yell at some of them! I had so much fun reading this one.

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

Fated to the Wolven Mage is a Little Red Ridinghood retelling with spice and sass!

The FMC Cerise is a witch with a hidden side, and our MMC Alaric comes to help her find it. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, though sometimes the pacing was a little off for me. I'm also not a huge fan of the miscommunication/not communicating trope/hiding things to protect the other person, but even with that I really enjoyed this read!

My biggest issue keeping from a full 5 stars was the changing POV. It was difficult to tell which character POV it was until getting further into the chapter.

Thank you to R.L Perez for the arc ✨

This Little Red Riding Hood retelling/inspired was so beautifully written.
The world building was rich and the magic was perfect.
It was a good story of mystery and self discovery and self acceptance.
I did feel like the romance kind of came out of nowhere at one point but maybe I didn't pick up on their feelings.

I received an ARC from the author**

I loved this book so much. A red riding hood retelling filled with shifters, fae, and witches. The two characters Instant but unwanted attraction was written perfectly. The story was well paced and the MC developed together throughout the story.

This book was just an okay read for me. I enjoyed the Red Riding Hood retelling and the way the soul bonds came together. It was a cute story with some steamy scenes, and I think it’s a good addition to the Fated to the Enemy series. While I liked the overall concept, I just didn’t connect with the characters as much as I would have liked. Overall, it was an enjoyable enough read with some fun elements!

Thank you to the author for an advance copy of this book!
