Origin's Signal
Zander had faced Entoma on fallen worlds, stood tall in the Assembly chamber against those who tried to push him down, and gamed their system, coming out as the sole Human in the universe, equal to any Assemblymember. He'd even had to fight dwarves in clan duels, expanding his own clan when he defeated them, yet that wasn't what he was proudest of.
His family had come together for a massive wedding with all the women he loved. Veldiami had finally reached the lust stage of her life cycle and married into the large family; she was the last to join them, but had folded smoothly into their dynamic. Lavella even opted to leave her company with Aspis— her second at Maverick— so she could stay on Dreams. With all of them gathered together, their joy only grew.
Fractured Dreams had even grown, going from her old, remodeled hull to an Assembly cruiser. That had brought its own complications, but everything eventually worked out. A bigger ship meant a larger crew, and their time at Assembly Hub was spent filling out some officer positions, as well as pilots to bring Dreams up to a full fist. With those slots filled out, Dreams was given missions and sent back out, not to fight Entoma, but to set up the communication buoys that Zander had suggested to the Assembly. They'd allow far faster communication across Assembly space and help notify everyone if the Entoma attacked another world. However, Dreams' primary mission was to focus on the mysterious signal that'd been detected in a remote system.
Zander had a few worries about the signal mission. He'd seen far too many space horror sci-fi movies to think this was going to be a simple thing, but he would wait to pass judgement until they found out exactly what was happening. Maker made plans and contingencies for everything she could think of, but until they got there, it was all guesswork.

A very exciting military sci-fi story, but with lots of interpersonal relationships too.
Zander and the crew of Dreams continue to help the Assembly to reassess how to overcome the bugs. The pacifist Antecedents were unwilling\unable to clean up their own mess, which infected many universes. I did find the dryad cultural chapters to be rather tedious.
There was lots of action, from space battles to single melee combat. Yay! Training also continued along with new tech developments. I think that with new combat suits being rolled out, training should include sims like in the first book where Zander showed the team what combat was like on earth. That was really intense.
Still there is room for much more political intrigue from backstabbing nobles and organized crime bosses trying to maintain their positions. Also, there is good potential for family drama from the succubus' and vampires to add to the dwarven conflicts. Zander can float the idea that the Antecedents intended for the Assembly to do what they; as pacifists, like the slimes, were physically incapable of doing. And so it's up to the Assembly to eliminate the bugs by any and every possible means. This will of course trigger the dwarven (and other) fundamentalists as well as the cult of the spork. Let's not forget the Terrans, who haven't really done much yet, so some curve balls should be coming from them too.

Better and better
Honestly there are not many series that I don't get bored with after 4 or 5 books, but I've never had that problem with this author and this series is no exception. If anything this book is even better then the last. It's been my experience with most series over 4 books the first two books are really good then the third kind of slows down and until the last book or two it's kind of just slow then an explosive finish in the last book. I have yet to experience that with this author. Almost every book in his series has a great mix of pushing the story along as well as the action to keep you interested and an ending leaving you eager for the next book. Anyway i can't wait for book 8.

Double damn
I always enjoy when you release a new book all they back with binding worlds, which is still a favourite but damn, you end this book when things where obviously going to get good again after it already got a couple of other good points in it. You get an extra damn as now it's going to feel like ages again before another Antecedents legacy is released I'll just have to be tied over with hopefully some my aethers revival and heavenly chaos.
I'll leave it with a thank you for releasing brilliant stories that you share with us.

Great entry to an intense and satisfying series
Alternate universe, SF, interstellar war, parallel universes, harem adult situations
Time passes and more successful combats survived lead to several critical upgrades and security systems for Dreams and her crew. Then come the field tests in more combat. Excellent editing. Devoured the nearly seven hundred page book in a single sitting. Yeah, I know the author spent long hours every day for months at a time to write this tale, only for me to say, "Great! Next?" Love the series.

another good book in the series
The story is moving along at a decent pace. Characters continue develop slowly—there are a lot of them. As long as the author keeps churning these out, I’ll continue to read them. Less explicit sex, and I thought it matched the story well. We know what’s happening, and it’s not always worth slowing the pace of the story to accommodate the explicit scenes. Just one guys opinion.
The story is moving along at a decent pace. Characters continue develop slowly—there are a lot of them. As long as the author keeps churning these out, I’ll continue to read them. Great as always
The author delivers as expected.
I truly enjoy where the story is going. The twists, turns, advancement, and growth are wonderfully paced and easy to read.
I'm constantly reminded of another book series of his and I expect this one to run the same course; 10 books and an "everyone lived happily ever after" ending while everyone loves everyone. So much love.
Can't wait for the next entry!

This book was good, but not great. There's still long lulls, too many "the MC just woke up" moments the author insists in sprinkling in almost every chapter, and too much time spent on stuff that doesn't move the plot. Mixing Slice of Life elements with a sci-fi action setup hasn't been the smoothest at times. And the constant political intrigue isn't intriguing.
I will still read the next book to see where things go, but this series isn't nearly as strong to me as others in the genre.

A scenic adventure
This book slows down a bit compared to the previous books in the series to give us a better view of the characters evolving dynamics. With longer breaks at stations and some easier missions, we get time to pay off ideas and see the results of some of the changes our characters have made to their world.
The plot is very limited to keep focus on the characters. After some more plot heavy books in this series, it's nice to take some time to look around.

I really love this series
This one saw lots of plot movement, which was very exciting. Zander and his family are great fun to follow and of all Schinhofen's works, I find this to be my favorite. I am very much looking forward to the next book, which I expect will be a grand action packed adventure if the setup in this entry is any indication.

great book in an already fantastic series
All of the family have grown with a sub-expansion and new characters introduced, the war with the Entoma continues. New tech has allowed Dreams to progress and the Assembly as a whole to grow and even some Dwarves have grown in wisdom. Can’t wait for the next book!

Another great read
I greatly enjoyed the read. One of the things I like about this author is he remembers the loose ends he creates and finds ways to close them in a way that fits the feel of the story. Too many authors either ignore them, or clear them with a hard wave. Thank you for a fun read.

Awesome read!
Brilliant Space Military Sci-Fi world building with a harem twist.
And as usual, love Schinhofen's focus on the emotional connections with found family elements.
Especially with the variety of races in this world.
But it's the surprise twists and the constant changes that Zander keeps bringing that make this series worth the read!

Its never enough
I couldn't put it down as usual this series is amazing and I love it the battles flow through the story with stunning tactics and technique you can see what is happening as your read the details are just that good as usual sir amazing job I impatiently wait for book 8 and cant wait to add it to my collection

Solid addition, with need for improvement.
Good book. Great advancement.
I do find the consistent focus on sex/bedroom time/unneeded relational matters to distract from the main story.
Even a reduction to only every two-three chapters for the cloying overly sentimentalistic lovey-dovey matters, would make it better.

really good book
Another great book in the series. I am looking forward to the main character, fighting the bugs on their home turf. I am truly interested to see how the author will integrate a queen in the next few stories.

it only gets better
So this is book seven of the series. Xander a merc is pulled over to an alternate reality with mecha and the only training shooting standing still and how to move. He introduced new ideas and they are starting to show success come enjoy the excitement

The only disappointment from this series of books is that they end so quickly. I thorough enjoy the characters and indeed their character. A close knit family fighting for their races. Good storyline, good characters. Looking forward to next episode.

Good, but..
Once a harem is established with DS it becomes them vs. the world.
That, plus long time jumps means less story or movement and more episodic scenes that advance noting and focus only on the relationship.

Another great story
How the author can keep coming up with new scenarios is beyond me. I enjoy more of the fighting than the interpersonal by play. So more fighting and exploring please.

Outstanding Story
Wonderful tale of daring Do!!
Fun rollercoaster of emotions and good plot lines. Characters who grow and develop. Excellent world building, highly recommend.

Nice addition
This was a well thought out addition to this series. I liked the pace and the direction although I was a little puzzled that there wasn't as much drama around the final mission that was hinted at earlier in the book. Good book overall.

Good stuff.
Lots of progression, lots of set up for more.
Couldn't say if it needs anything else. I don't think this story needs shake ups. Though I wish we could have got more from the title issue.
