Between Breath and Shadow: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Series

Rate this book
At forty-two, grief counselor Evelyn Deth thought she understood loss. She was wrong.

When she’s called to console the family of a powerful Queens businessman whose teenage daughter has mysteriously “fallen asleep,” Evelyn expects another tragedy. Instead, she discovers something impossible.

The girl isn’t dead.

Marcus Reed — the city’s most formidable Geomancer — is certain of it. His power can fracture stone and bend the living earth. But even he cannot reach his daughter.

Evelyn can.

The closer she gets to Marcus, the more the veil between worlds begins to thin. The dead whisper her name. The ground hums beneath her feet. And memories of her mother’s murder — and the uncle who warned her never to cross the veil — rise like ghosts she can no longer outrun.

In a city layered with forgotten magic and buried loyalties, something ancient is stirring in the Loam.

If Evelyn steps fully into her power, she may save a child.

But she could lose herself to the darkness waiting on the other side.

She walks between breath and shadow.
And death has finally noticed her.

I believe fiction has the power to change the world.

Once upon a time i was a child who lived in the truancy office. It was a book that kept my attention when school couldn't. The ideas and concepts in stories expanded my thinking and exposed me to new ways to live and grow.

Why do I write? I write to give a voice to the voiceless. I write because it's the quickest way to infect a country with your ideas and viewpoints. I write because I have a need to share what I dream about and what weighs on my mind in the middle of the night.

I write so that someone out there won't feel so alone.

Absolutely Horrible!

This book was absolutely horrible. No I did not finish it. I always try to give every book a chance by reading at least 50 pages. I could not make it past 25. It's obvious there was no editing or proofreading done. Words consistently misspelled, sentences duplicated, and the grammar seemed like a 12 year old wrote this. What I find most disturbing is Goodreads rated this at 4.3 out of 5???. Which I can't say now I'll never put my trust in those reviews any longer.

Could have been a good read but between all the mistakes made and the (obviously) unedited content it was simply too confusing to hold my interest. When you have to keep returning to previously read pages to try to make sense of what's happening, you've lost the thread.

Nope. Couldn’t handle the editing and the lack of growth insight emotional development, skipped the second and third quarter. I wanted to like it. It has potential . Hire an editor that doesn’t love you who can be brutally honest and try again, keep writing.

Riddled with typos and bad editing.

Seriously?? Packed with typos? Sentences that repeat in the next paragraph? I stopped reading before the end of the first chapter. I can’t believe this is a series. Be better.

Enchanting

The intensity draws you in. The characters take you through. Fascinating, tantalizing, and mysterious. I can hardly wait for the next one.
