This was such a sweet, unexpectedly emotional ride. At its heart, it’s a story about two people trying to figure out what they really want from each other while navigating an unexpected pregnancy, old fears, and the possibility of building something real together.

I’ll be honest... not having much insight into Rhett at the beginning was driving me a little crazy 😭 I kept wondering WHY he was so adamant about keeping things between him and Aspen the way they were, especially when it was painfully obvious that there was so much more underneath the surface. But once his reasoning finally came to light… oh. My heart. It suddenly made so much sense, and I felt like I could finally understand him. This man had been so unbelievably down bad for her for so long while convincing himself that wanting more wasn’t an option🥲🥲

And watching the pregnancy slowly pull them closer? SO sweet. Rhett stepping up and being there for Aspen in every possible way, even while he was scared himself, really showed what kind of man he was. The late-night craving runs, planning a shopping day when she was stressed about her clothes not fitting, showing up for appointments, constantly reassuring her, giving her affirmations… I was eating it UPPP. He was so strong in all the ways that mattered 🙂‍↕️

What I loved most, though, was seeing Rhett realize that he and Aspen didn’t have to repeat the same story he grew up watching. He had spent so much time letting fear make his decisions for him. Aspen helped him understand that living afraid of what could happen can make you miss everything that’s happening right in front of you. And the fact that she loved him despite all of the things he thought made him unworthy? My heart was not preparedddd 🫶🏼🥹

There was something really beautiful about watching him slowly let himself believe that he could have the life he was so afraid to want. This was sweet, emotional, comforting, and full of those little moments that made me want to curl up and smile at my book. Rhett and Aspen absolutely had me in my feelings, and I loved watching them find their way to each other 🫶🏼

favorite quotes ↓

“You are the definition of grace, Aspen. I hope you know that.”

“I guess that is the blessing that comes with getting something you thought you’d never have. You appreciate all of it, the good and the bad, for what it is, a gift. Time is a gift.”

“What’s funny is you not realizing you are the most beautiful woman in every single room you walk in. Your jeans not fitting doesn’t change that. Your body is going to continue to change, and you know what? I love it. I love that you’ve got our baby in there. The bigger that bump gets the stronger our baby gets.”

“Do you think we maybe need a cart?”
“Why would I need a cart when I got a 6’6 baby daddy who gladly carries my clothes around because he feels bad for me?”
“Silly me to forget.”

“We walk to the truck, our souls laced together, just like our hands. It was a rough road getting here. I get to live my wildest fantasy every single day, saddled up with the love of my life and baby in tow.”

Saddled Up was accidental pregnancy and brother’s best friend perfection. Ever since that little glimpse of Aspen and Rhett in the last book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their story, and it absolutely delivered.

Aspen is fiercely independent, and I loved watching her navigate everything life threw at her while still staying true to herself. Rhett’s reluctance to commit was frustrating at first, especially because I just wanted these two to be together already, but once he finally opened up about the reasons behind his fears, it all made so much sense.

The accidental pregnancy brought these two exactly where they were always meant to be. Their chemistry was undeniable from the very beginning, and every chapter made it more obvious that they belonged together.

And can we talk about Rhett? That man is a walking green flag. Waking up in the middle of the night to get Aspen a Wendy’s Frosty and fries? Swoon. Secretly building the baby’s crib before she even knew? Cue the tears. He showed up for her in all the little ways that mattered most, and I adored every second of it.

I’ve loved my time in this series, and while I’m sad it’s almost over, I’m so excited to get one final visit with these characters in the Christmas novella.

I had the biggest smile on my face for so much of this book.

Cowboy romances already have my heart, and adding a brother’s best friend romance, accidental pregnancy, and plenty of emotional moments made this an easy book to sink into. It wasn’t perfect, but I was invested in these two from beginning to end.

Rhett was definitely my favorite part of the book. His fears and insecurities made him easy to understand, and watching Aspen patiently stand by him without losing sight of what she wanted made their relationship feel genuine. Their chemistry was great, but it was the quiet support, friendship, and trust between them that made me root for them the most.

The ranch setting, lovable side characters, and strong family bonds gave the story so much warmth. I laughed, got emotional more than once, and genuinely enjoyed spending time with this cast.

If you love heartfelt cowboy romances with an emotionally guarded hero and a heroine who knows exactly what she’s fighting for, this is well worth picking up.

DNF

Well... we got approximately one chapter together before I respectfully clocked out.

I didn't even make it through the first chapter before my brain started waving a tiny white flag. The writing style and I looked at each other, mutually agreed we were incompatible, and filed for literary divorce.

Instead of letting me actually meet the characters, the book immediately sat me down for what felt like a mandatory three-hour PowerPoint presentation titled "Everything You Need to Know Before Anyone Has Done Literally Anything." Every thought, every feeling, every action was explained to me in exhausting detail. There was no mystery. No discovery. No chance to figure anything out for myself.

Please. I am begging authors. Let me participate in the reading experience.

I don't need a narrator following the characters around like David Attenborough.

"Here we observe our heroine. She is walking. She is thinking. She is about to speak. Fascinating."

SHOW ME. Trust me to put two and two together. I promise I'll manage.

And then there was the dialogue.

Every conversation felt like it had been generated by people who had once overheard humans speaking from three tables away in a restaurant. I kept waiting for someone to say something that sounded like an actual person, but unfortunately that moment and I never crossed paths.

So, with great respect for my sanity and my rapidly declining attention span, I DNF'd.

Life is simply too short, and my TBR is simply too long, to willingly attend another chapter of the Great Exposition Olympics.

Rhett and Aspen were always drawn to each other but loved each other secretly. Rhett had a reason for never wanting a relationship (I totally agreed with Aspen on this and wanted to tell him he was a silly man), yet they couldn't fight the chemistry between themselves. Le sigh. He was yummy and she was lovely.

The yearning. The chemistry. The bond. The banter. The friendships. The love. *catch me*I'm swooning*

The side characters were just as good as I remembered. I love Aspen's parents so much. Talk about goals.

🤠 Lines:
He may not have all the pages of his book available, but this one I can read.

I mean, I'm fairly confident endless orgasms delivered by a man who is a walking, talking lumbersnack with a cowboy hat would work for just about anyone.

I don't feel like I'm grown enough to be in charge of a whole human, you know?

I hope that someday when I'm married, my spouse and I can be thirty-five years in and still smitten.

Tomorrow is day one of me choosing myself, but today I can wallow with the thought of what I wish it was.

...I want her like I want my next breath.

Maybe in another life, I'll get to love her.

I feel like a dog who just heard all its favorite words.

Just let me love you, you spicy woman you.

Death by rolling pin would be rather emasculating.

Don't you dare waste any more time on a different form of the same thing.

...but a nice change of scenery might keep me from a grippy sock vacation.

Nothing I like more than accidental pregnancy and cowboys… just my jam 🤠

First of all, a huge thank you to the author and Luna Literary for sending me an early copy of this book and trusting me with her work. Having LOVED the other books in the series, my expectations for this one were high. Needless to say, they were met, and although I can now safely say that Ava and Mav are still my favourite couple in the series, I had a great time reading Aspen and Rhett's story.

Elle's books are a hidden gem that deserve to be discovered by more people. Her writing never misses, and the characters' connections - whether friendships, family bonds, or romantic relationships - always feel deep and authentic. You can't help but root for her characters.

Aspen and Rhett starting out as friends and considering each other their closest friend gave their relationship a strong emotional foundation, and added a lot of depth to their love 🩵 Alongside the friends to lovers aspect of the story, we also have an opposites attract element, which works incredibly well here - they complement each other perfectly.

Rhett's inner conflict surrounding his chronic illness was portrayed realistically and with care, and it was heartwarming to watch him find happiness with Aspen and their child 🍼 Aspen is by his side every step of the way, just as Rhett is throughout the pregnancy. They truly are each other's person.

Can't wait to see more of them in Wrapped Up 🤭

I had the opportunity to read this book as an ARC

I absolutely loved this book, it got me all in the feels. It was such a sweet, heartwarming, funny read.

I don’t usually like the surprise pregnancy trope but Elle does it so well that I couldn’t help but route for Aspen and Rhett.

Aspen and Rhett have been having a secret relationship/fwb situation for years. Hiding it from their loved ones and especially Aspen’s older brother and Rhetts best friend Weston. Eventually they decide to break it off for good but then Aspen finds out she’s pregnant.

Rhett is dealing with his own demons of a potential medical diagnosis that could change his whole life. He doesn’t do serious relationships and keeps Aspen at arms length but when those 2 pink lines show up it changes everything.

Overall I loved this book, especially these two together. The way Aspen supports Rhett through everything he’s dealing with and how Rhett fiercely loved Aspen. It gets you in the heart.

Rhett and Aspen's story was one of unconditional love and support. Their story felt very grounded, with real fears, real family drama and real life choices that left their marks.

I loved that Rhett gets a second chance with Aspen and that they were able to work out their issues in order to finally be that forever couple they both always dreamed about but were too scared to come right out and say - each for their own reasons.

Rhett, especially had some real concerns that kept him isolated and alone. My heart broke for him and I'm glad that he was able to learn from his mistakes and start to taking proactive moves to control his future. Aspen was a strong character and she needed to be not only to be there for Rhett but also deal with her overly protective brother.

Overall this book wasn't what I was expecting in the romance department but did leave me with renewed appreciation for open communication and unwavering support. Aside from their secret relationship - that everyone knew about so wasn't really secret - and Rhett's medical history there was no unnecessary drama and things worked out in the end.

𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 - small town, accidental pregnancy, sneaking around, found family, friends to lovers, brother’s bestfriend, cowboy romance, chronic illness

—

Elle has done it once again! This series just keep hitting every book I can’t wait for the next, the small town romance books I’ve been reading has been hitting all the right spots especially this one cause it was just what I craving, I can never get enough of an accidental pregnancy books idc what nobody say I love them. Aspen and Rhett has been going casual for sometime now but now Aspen want something different and ends it cause she feels like Rhett doesn’t feel the same so decides to be friends again but weeks later she rounds out she’s pregnant

Aspen has always seen herself as the brother annoying little sister so when Rhett finally realizes that indeed not she goes for it. Since Aspen was first introduced in book 1 I automatically wanted a book for her, she was just so sweet and amazing plus a little sassy so I feel in love with her right off the bat. Aspen is also a ER Nurse, she’s just so badass

This book had me crying, laughing, angry (at you weston) and so many other emotions but I still had such a good time reading this I just couldn’t stop. These two are something so special and the way they care and communicate with how each other are feeling had me just giggling and kicking my feet.

Rhett you deserve the absolute world and I’m so glad you finally let yourself find it! His fears are totally understandable about not wanting to put someone through what was going to happen. Rhett is such a green flag definitely had me so down bad for him since the beginning I just couldn’t wait for he’s and aspens book the way he loves her and their baby is amazing

If you love any of these tropes you definitely need to read this book. It was such a good read I loved it so much and Aspen and Rhett are freaking everything and more! I can’t wait for what’s next to come

Thank You So Much for giving me this incredible arc !💐🖤

🤠 SADDLED UP | Elle Jordan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Give me a brother’s best friend romance and you already know I’m seated. It’s one of my FAVORITE tropes, and Saddled Up gave me that plus all the cowboy romance vibes. 🤎
An accidental pregnancy, a cowboy MMC, open-door spice, and chronic illness rep made this one more than just a fun, spicy romance. I really appreciated seeing the chronic illness representation woven into the story and how it added another layer to the characters and their relationship. Sweet, spicy, emotional, and a little messy and exactly how I like my romances. And honestly… cowboys + brother’s best friend? I never stood a chance. 😂🤠

Y seamos sinceras… ¿cowboys + el mejor amigo de su hermano? Yo nunca tuve oportunidad. 😂🤠

Saddle Up by Elle Jordan is such a sweet story about two people who adore each other but, for reasons beneath the surface, keep their connection private and casual for years, until fate intervenes and they must make a choice.

Aspen and Rhett are one of my favorite couples. They are non-toxic and complicated and give the other space to figure out their own minds while also providing gentle support. A secret-brother’s-best-friend romance that will have you falling for our star couple from the very first page.

And of course, we have appearances from some of our favorite couples from the previous 2 books!

Saddled Up is a story where the struggles are so real and thankfully the outcomes are as idealistic as only a true loving romance can provide. It's the perfect escape for the cowboy romance lovers who want a strong independent woman (in Aspen) and the most doting of partners (in Rhett) even when they were only “official” to themselves.

Massive thanks to Elle Jordan and LunaLiterary for my ARC! Already excited for book 4!

Saddled Up was such an amazingly sweet and emotional book. Aspen and Rhett stole my heart. This book is a cowboy, best friend's little sister, accidental pregnancy romance and Elle Jordan did an amazing job writing this story.

Aspen is a spitfire, independent, and loves and cares for everyone with her whole heart and with a fierceness. She is the sweetest FMC and I instantly loved everything about her.

Rhett is reluctant to love but only has eyes for Aspen. Watching him go from someone that holds himself back to an all in MMC was so swoon worthy.

If you're looking to start you cowboy romance era or simply add to your love of cowboy romance, this is definitely one you should read. There are some sensitive topics so make sure you check the trigger warnings. Only you can protect your mental health.

First, I wanna say thank you so much to the author for allowing me to be an arc reader for this book!

This book has me roped in from chapter 1! Everything about it was top tier.
Surprise pregnancy … check
Cowboy … check
Forbidden … check

This is the first book I’ve read by Elle and I can’t wait to read more! I absolutely devoured this book and wish there was more to it! I didn’t want it to end.

Aspen was a great main characters. She’s independent, feisty and hilarious. Rhett is a walking green flag but I did wanna jump in and strangle him for not committing to Aspen straight away. But I forgave him in the end. He’s a swoon worthy MMC.

The chemistry these two had was undeniable from the start and their banter just made it all so much better.

Cowboys, surprise pregnancy, found family, and all the feels? Absolutely, yes please.

Saddled Up by Elle Jordan completely pulled me in from the beginning. Rhett is the kind of hero who lets his actions speak louder than his words, and watching him step up when life throws everything at him made me fall for him even harder. Aspen and Rhett’s chemistry felt natural, and I loved seeing their relationship grow through the chaos, heartbreak, and healing.

This book balances emotional moments with sweet romance and just enough humor to keep it from feeling too heavy. And trust me…Rhett has got some stuff…that is HEAVYYYY. The found family vibes were everything, and the ranch setting made me want to pack my bags for Windy Peaks.

This was such a great read. From beginning to end, I was hooked and rooting for Aspen and Rhett. Aspen is independent and pushes through any obstacle thrown her way while Rhett is a complete sweetheart and softie (once his walls are knocked down). He has major golden retriever energy underneath his hard exterior. He goes above and beyond for Aspen and their baby. Elle did a great job at writing the chemistry and attraction between these characters. When learning about his chronic illness and the lengths Rhett will go for Aspen and their child, the heartstrings are pulled left and right. I absolutely loved their secret relationship and how it progressed into accidental pregnancy and ultimately their HEA. This was such a sweet and spicy read that was also full of heartache and emotions.

Thank you Elle and LunaLiteraryPR for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 🌶️🌶️

Saddled Up had me roped in from the very beginning! Give me a cowboy, brother's best friend, years of unresolved chemistry, and a surprise pregnancy, and apparently I'm not getting anything else done until I finish the book. 😂 This was my first book by Elle Jordan, and now I'm wondering why it took me so long to find her!

Aspen and Rhett have spent years pretending that what happens between them can stay casual. They're close friends underneath it all, but their chemistry has always been impossible to ignore. Rhett made the rules clear from the beginning. No strings. No commitment. No real feelings. That works until Aspen realizes casual isn't enough anymore and finally walks away from whatever they've been doing.

And then come those two pink lines. 🍼

I absolutely loved Aspen. She's independent, feisty, funny, and knows what she wants. Finding out she's pregnant doesn't suddenly change who she is, and I loved that she never needed Rhett to rescue her. What she wanted was for him to believe he was worthy of standing beside her.

Rhett, though... sir, you tested my patience. 😂 I wanted to jump into this book and shake him more than once because it was SO obvious how he felt about Aspen. But once the reasons behind his reluctance came out, I understood him so much better. His chronic illness has shaped the way he sees his future and convinced him that loving someone means eventually becoming their burden. He doesn't keep Aspen at a distance because he doesn't love her. He does it because he loves her enough to believe she deserves better.

Meanwhile, his actions are telling an entirely different story. 💙

This man wakes up in the middle of the night to get his pregnant woman Wendy's Frosty and fries. He secretly builds their baby's crib before Aspen even knows. He takes care of her, supports her, and prepares for their baby while still trying to convince himself he shouldn't want the family forming right in front of him.

Rhett Rivers is a walking green flag who desperately needed someone to turn that flag around so he could see it himself.

I also loved that Aspen didn't treat Rhett like he was broken. She didn't dismiss his fears or pretend his illness wasn't part of his reality, but she also refused to let him decide what she could handle. She saw a future with him and was willing to fight for it while still giving him the space to realize he wanted that future too. Watching them support each other through the pregnancy while their friendship slowly became the foundation for something much bigger was so incredibly sweet.

And through all that emotion, their banter and chemistry never disappeared. 🔥 These two know exactly how to get under each other's skin, and that history made every interaction between them even better.

The ranch, the family dynamics, the friendships, and all those familiar connections added so much warmth too. I loved watching Aspen and Rhett go from two people insisting they could keep feelings out of their relationship to two people building a family together before they were quite ready to admit that's exactly what they wanted.

I devoured Saddled Up and genuinely didn't want it to end. Aspen and Rhett gave me the humor, emotion, chemistry, caretaking, and cowboy romance I wanted, but Rhett's journey toward understanding that needing someone doesn't make him a burden gave their story so much more heart.

Now I need more Elle Jordan on my TBR immediately. 🤠🩵

Saddled Up was one of those books that was incredibly hard to put down. Elle Jordan's writing style clicked with me from the very beginning, making it easy to stay invested in every chapter.

The story follows Rhett and Aspen, who have known each other for years because Rhett is best friends with Aspen's older brother, Wes. They were never supposed to end up together, but life had other plans. Early in the novel, you can clearly see Rhett trying to keep his distance from Aspen, and for reasons that genuinely made sense. He was older, he was his best friend's little sister, and he was dealing with personal struggles of his own. Despite all of that, their chemistry was undeniable. You could feel the tension between them right from the opening chapter.

The pacing was another highlight for me. It never felt rushed, but it also didn't drag. The story unfolded at just the right pace, allowing both the romance and the emotional moments to develop naturally.

One of the biggest turning points came when Rhett and Aspen discovered they were expecting a baby together. While they had spent so much time trying to push each other away, fate had already made the decision for them. The pregnancy forced them to confront the feelings they had been avoiding and finally face what was really happening between them.

I also really appreciated Wes's reaction when he found out about their relationship. His feelings were completely valid. After all, the two people closest to him had kept such a huge secret. What I loved most was that his reaction wasn't driven by anger, it came from a place of hurt. He felt betrayed because they didn't believe he would understand. Whether they were right or wrong to think that, his response felt realistic and emotionally honest. I also liked how this conflict was resolved. The hurt didn't disappear overnight, nor should it have, but in the end, Wes chose to work through it because Rhett was like a brother to him and Aspen was his little sister. His love for them ultimately outweighed his pain.

This was my first time reading Elle Jordan's work, and it was also my introduction to the Windy Peaks series. After enjoying this book so much, I'm definitely interested in reading the rest of the series once I have more free time.

Was this novel perfect? No. But it was an incredibly enjoyable read, and I loved turning every single page. I'm more than happy to continue with the rest of the series.

Many thanks to Elle Jordan and Luna Literary for providing me with an advanced copy of this book. This review reflects my honest thoughts, and I would absolutely recommend Saddled Up to readers who enjoy heartfelt, emotional small-town romances with undeniable chemistry.

Book 3 follows Aspen and her family's handsome ranch hand, Rhett, who also just so happens to be her older brother's best friend.
When Aspen comes home from college to start work as an Er nurse, what was ment to be a one-night stand to clear the air of their mutual attraction ends up turning into a secret, two-year "no strings, no attachement" arrangement!!
Rhett fiercely guards his heart due to an underlying chronic illness in his family that hes not sure if he's inherited or not, as he's never done the genetic testing.
No-one knows about his family's history not even his best friend.
He carries the deep fears of being a physical or emotional burden to a family, initially making him believe he doesn't deserve Aspen's love and that's why he's been so insistent on the no strings attached relationship even though the bond and chemistry between them is undeniable. I loved the banter between the 2 of them. Rhett has quiet a dirty mouth and is a little dominant behind closed doors 🥵🔥.
Their no strings relationship works for both of them for awhile until Aspen decides she wants what everyone else around her has a genuine, open love that she doesn't have to hide ❤️.
So she finally cuts ties to Rhett which is so hard for her but then two pink lines change everything.
As they navigate the unexpected pregnancy, Aspen uncovers Rhetts deep-seated fears and secrets that make him guard his heart so much, and she sets out to prove that he is worthy of family and love and that she'll be there for him no matter what.
And even though Rhett tried to push her away at the beginning once she tells him about the pregnancy its green flags from the off he doesn't freak or run he handles it all with ease and steps up immediately becoming Aspens protector, hes so caring and loving towards her and their unborn child.
The man is swoon worthy enough he's a cowboy after all but add going out in the middle of the night to get Aspen her craving fix 🥰 and then working tirelessly in secret building their babies crib crying 😭❤️. And man is her protector defending her when her brother finds out about the pregnacy.
Supporting cast are great especially Aspen's parents. Goals right there. No judgement what so ever just love and support from them both for both Aspen and Rhett.
I really enjoyed Saddle Up this was my first book boy Elle Jordon and I think I will have to go back and read books 1 and 2 in the series.
Recommend if you love a 🤠, older brothers best friend ams accidental pregnacy story lines.

After reading Roped In, the second book in the Windy Peaks series, I just had to read Saddled Up. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of the third book, which features the brother’s best friend and accidental pregnancy tropes. I love both of these tropes when they're written well, which Elle definitely did!

Rhett Rivers and Aspen’s brother, Weston, have been best friends since their youth. Back then, having Aspen constantly tagging along bugged them no end. It wasn’t until she returned from college that Rhett started to notice her, completely unaware that Aspen had been crushing on him for years. Their mutual attraction led to a one-time fling, but two years later, their no-strings arrangement is no longer enough for Aspen. She wants what both of her brothers have: true love.

I really appreciate how the author, Elle, explored Rhett’s reasoning for staying single. It feels so refreshing! He acts like a total martyr, choosing a lonely life just to protect the woman he cherishes, completely blind to the fact that he’s already causing her pain. Plus, there's the classic complication of her being his best friend’s sister.

What I couldn't quite grasp was how Aspen, who is a nurse and seemingly smart, failed to realise she was pregnant. It takes her co-worker, who is also her friend, to suggest the possibility after Aspen shows telltale signs. While I know this can happen in real life for various reasons, I suppose Aspen can simply blame her oversight on "baby brain."

Ultimately, the pregnancy plotline enriches the story's progression, and the way Rhett and Weston found out is wonderfully written. The moment Weston finds out is hand-over-mouth cringe-inducing yet hilarious; I couldn't help but laugh at the sheer awkwardness of the situation. This certainly made the scene far less shocking than the actual revelation of the baby's father. Weston’s ultimate reaction left me completely stunned.

I love Aspen and Rhett’s connection in this book. Their upfront honesty and lack of secrets are so refreshing. They support each other unconditionally, like Rhett dropping off late-night snacks at her house! The pregnancy storyline brings them closer together in a truly beautiful way.

Elle conjured up a meaningful and engaging story that has left me wanting more.

****ARC READER REVIEW****

What a fantastic book! I devoured this ARC in two days because every time I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. I’m a sucker for an accidental pregnancy trope, and pairing it with a brother’s best friend storyline made it absolutely perfect.

Aspen and Rhett have been secretly hooking up for years, but when Aspen ends things hoping for a real relationship, she soon discovers she’s already very pregnant. They both have a lot to work through, yet one thing is constant: Rhett will always take care of her.

These two are truly each other’s person. Rhett has his own fears to face before he can fully embrace everything, and Aspen stands by him because she’s always wanted more with him. Their journey is about confronting what they’ve avoided and realizing life is too short to ignore the right person.

Elle Jordan delivered another incredible story — I’ll read anything she writes. What a fantastic book! I devoured this ARC in two days because every time I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

Thank you to Elle Jordan for the opportunity to read this ARC!

This book was practically tailor-made for me. Brothers best friend? Cowboy? Found family? Grumpy sunshine? Surprise pregnancy? No third-act breakup? It checked almost every one of my favorite trope boxes.

Aspen was such an easy heroine to root for. She’s compassionate, resilient, and quietly brave without ever feeling over-the-top. Rhett absolutely stole my heart. Watching him wrestle with the pain of his past and the fear that he would only bring more hurt to the people he loves was emotional, and there were several moments that genuinely had me tearing up.

Their relationship is incredibly sweet, and despite the heavy challenges they face, there’s an underlying warmth throughout the story thanks to Aspen’s close-knit family and the love they’ve always shown Rhett. I especially appreciated that the conflict stayed focused on the characters’ emotional journeys rather than relying on unnecessary drama or a third-act breakup.

Unfortunately, the editing made this a more difficult reading experience than it should have been. Frequent punctuation, grammar, and typo issues were distracting, but the biggest challenge was dialogue formatting. There were often multiple speakers within the same paragraph, which made conversations difficult to follow. I also found the timing in the epilogue somewhat confusing.

The heart of this story is absolutely there. With another round of editing, I genuinely think this could be a solid 4-star read because the characters, romance, and emotional payoff are all worth experiencing.

If you love cowboy romances with plenty of heart, found family, and a hero who has to learn he’s worthy of love, this one is worth checking out.

1.5🌶

Thank you to Elle Jordan and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read this heartfelt story.

Overall Thoughts & Emotional Reactions:

Found it, right here! This is your next cowboy read! If you're looking to capture the magic of Hope Floats again, Saddled Up delivers it in Spades!♠️♠️ Let Rhett Rivers treat you like the Cowgirl princess we all know you are💖

I love how Elle Jordan crafts her characters. She makes you feel everything alongside them. Take Aspen for instance. She loves so big and puts everyone else first, but feels that twine of jealousy and inadequacy that she'll never be enough for someone and have her own relationship. I felt it in my soul when she finally voiced that “having fun” wasn't enough for her any more. Then to watch how strong she was through the pregnancy despite how scared she was for the baby and Rhett. Ugh! Then you have Rhett who made this massive self-sacrificing decision AS A TEENAGER, and put everyone else first. He's so damn in love with Aspen it physically hurts me. But he grows so much when he finally becomes vulnerable with Aspen and Weston.

Tropes:
Brother's Best Friend
Accidental Pregnancy
Cowboy Romance
Chronic Illness Rep
Open Door Spice

Favorite Quotes:
"I see you every night in my dreams; you haunt me. The desire to be with you is so great, I cannot escape it. You invade every thought and dream of mine. I want you more than I want to live. But what I want cannot be more important than what you deserve.”

“She is everything I need and everything I can’t have all at the same time.”

“Everything about this girl is sunshine; it’s like someone bottled up joy and anointed her with it when she was born.”

“If I had to pick the perfect person for me, it would be the man standing in front of me. He’s everything I’m not, true opposites in a way that creates a beautiful balance. Quiet where I am outspoken. He thinks everything through and I act on a whim.”

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The above opinions are my own.

absolutely adored this book!! 😭🤍 Aspen and Rhett completely stole my heart and I didn’t want their story to end.

I’m such a sucker for a cowboy romance and this one had everything I love. Brother’s best friend, accidental pregnancy, friends with benefits that turns into so much more, and all the emotional angst. I was hooked from the first chapter.

Rhett… this man. He was sweet, hardworking, loyal, and carrying around so much pain that my heart just broke for him. Watching him struggle with believing he wasn’t worthy of love or a family was heartbreaking, but seeing Aspen refuse to give up on him had me tearing up more than once. He deserved every bit of happiness.

Aspen was such a fantastic heroine. She knew what she wanted, stood her ground, and never stopped fighting for the man she loved. I loved how patient she was with Rhett while still making sure he knew she wasn’t going anywhere.

Their chemistry was incredible, but it was the emotional connection that really got me. Every little moment between them felt so genuine, and I found myself smiling like an idiot one minute and getting emotional the next.

The ranch setting was the perfect backdrop, the family dynamics were so wholesome, and the found family vibes made this story even more special. It was emotional, heartwarming, funny, and ridiculously addictive.

I loved Aspen and Rhett so much. Their journey wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it. This book gave me all the feels and left me with the biggest smile. If you love cowboy romances with plenty of heart, an emotionally guarded hero, accidental pregnancy, and a love story that makes you believe everyone deserves their happily ever after, this is an absolute must-read!
