Joining the infamous Mike Bravo Ops to meet the godfather I never knew doesn’t go the way I expect. I’m hoping to meet the man I’ve only read about in my late father’s journals, someone who’s warm, caring, and a ride or die. But when I arrive, all I get is coldness and hostility from someone who doesn’t even want to know me.
I don’t understand how he can be the same man my father wrote so passionately about. Or why I find him annoyingly attractive.

heartbreaking ending
I didn’t love this one. Eden says in her author’s note that this was the perfect ending for this series but I couldn’t disagree more. This was not the happily ever after I signed up for when I fell in love with these characters years ago and it’s disappointing. Also, the actual romance was not done as well as she usually does them. The feelings felt rushed and not genuine, like the relationship was only part of the story to make the overall stakes bigger, rather than the story being about the relationship and the hurdles to overcome to get to their happy ending…which isn’t very happy at all. Largely disappointed with the ending of this series.

This end to the Mike Bravo series definitely made sense when it came to the overall plot where everyone needed to scatter, but it was still kinda sad to see the guys all ending up separated across the globe.
The relationship between Decaf and Haz did kind of get overshadowed though. The escape plot was the dominant factor of the story, followed closely by Haz's dad (the ghost) and the grief and guilt experienced by Decaf.
it didn't really feel like Decaf and Haz actually got to know each other - mainly because I honestly couldn't tell you anything about either of them except Decaf has a coffee addiction and blames himself for Jesse's death, and Haz has a mother...

So.. this was a bit underwhelming for me? I really wanted to love this book but i felt like something was missing.. we jumped too fast from "i hate you for what happened to my dad" to being together, i feel like.. but that could be personal!
I did enjoy seeing them all together again while they navigated escaping a country that wanted them gone..
I wish we got a book about Scout tho.. i feel like he's story would be very interesting

I've read a lot of Eden Finley's books, many multiple times, and enjoyed the vast majority of them. I already felt like the Mike Bravo Ops series was a bit on the weaker side of her works, especially after the last two books, and unfortunately I found Hazard to be rather lackluster.
Best friend's son/dad's best friend is a hard trope to pull off in general. Here it definitely helped that Hazard's father's death meant that he and Decaf didn't meet until after he was an adult, but I still found the dynamic a little weird, especially as Decaf continually thinks about how much Haz looks like his father. This threw me off the romance a lot, especially since Decaf is a not point attracted to Haz's dad, and it still happens during their first sex scene.
I also thought it was weird that the two technically already met in the previous book, and this one plays almost a year later. Granted, they deliberately stayed apart for that year, but I still found that very strange because we effectively loose any and all of their first few interactions.
The series, despite being about a group of mercenaries, was never the biggest in terms of action and strategy, but here I found what was effectively the finale of the entire series to be pretty underwhelming. There was an effort to raise the stakes for said finale, including a bit of political commentary, which I appreciated, but was waaaaayyyy too little for me. The cynical part of me thinks that it wasn't done more blantantly as to not alientate potential conservative readers.
The romance, too, felt lukewarm, and overall I had the feeling that the author just wanted to quickly wrap up the series without putting too much thought into it. On the plus side, this meant the book was extremely fast paced and very quick to read.
Overall I expected a bit more from this series with how great the author's sports romances are, especially on the found family front, but I can see how writing military action is very different and much more challenging, and I can appreciate that effort.

Oooof so bittersweet that another series is coming to an end 😢
I’ve been anxiously awaiting Decaf and Haz’s story since they were first mentioned. Decaf has carried such an immense guilt since losing his best friend, Haz’s dad, over 20 years ago I wasn’t sure how they’d get to a place of healing.
Maybe I need to come up with a nickname for him. “D” could work. D for Decaf, D for Denton, D for Daddy’s best friend, D for dickhead. These all fit.
I do feel like their romance took a back seat to all of the Mike Bravo drama and suspense. I feel like the pacing or something was just a bit off for me. I still enjoyed them, and their dynamic but I would have liked even more of them.
“Iris is the Sherlock Holmes of sex,” Saint says. “Deduces the odds of people hooking up. He has an uncanny knack of being correct too.” “I’m a dick whisperer,” Iris says.
The Ezra reference 🤣 I absolutely loved it. And all of the Iris cameos were pure gold. I’ll miss this Mike Bravo team 💜💜

We finally got grumpy Decaf’s story and it was everything and more. Decaf & Haz were so cute and their protectiveness over each other. It was especially a good time with all the Mike Bravo guys coming back for all the action.
The Mike Bravo series was an overall fun time with vibrant characters, spicy times and hilarious banter - I will miss these men!

It was so bittersweet to read the ending of this series. I really enjoyed the Mike Bravo guys and this book did not disappoint.
Hazard and Decaf have history and it's of the heavy, traumatic type. They needed time, things to drastically change in the Mike Bravo world, near death experiences and good old fashioned talking for things to change between them. I felt for both of them and understood where they were coming from. It was interesting to see two very stubborn men come to an understanding and also trying to save and shield each other from harm. Hazard's dad was a big obstacle for them, but in the end they overcame it and enjoyed their happily ever after. I loved how stubborn they both were, but also how soft and adoring Decaf was when it came to Haz. Hazard had a fun bratty side, while also knowing how to get what he wanted from Decaf. He has a fun, playful side which I feel like Decaf needed after decades of beating himself up for something he couldn't stop.
It was great to see all of the Mike Bravo crew, but it was also bittersweet to see how things have changed for them. There were still moments of levity, with Iris being Iris and with everyone ribbing each other.
This was a grear hurt/comfort age-gap story that was also a great end to this series.

The perfect ending to Mike Bravo Ops!!
I feel like I’ve been waiting a really long time for this book, but in reality… it’s probably been just over a year, for me? 😅
I’m a notorious rereader of the Sadenverse books, and I’ve always found the MBO series so much fun!! Iris “I require intense supervision” has always been such a hilarious character, whether he’s the main or a side character, and I was so happy he was in this book as much as he was!! As well as many of the other MBO guys (and girls) of course.
We finally find out what’s up with Hazard and Decaf!!! Without spoiling any plot points, this is an action-filled, ex-military on-the-run romance story with age gap, (dead) father’s best friend, hurt/comfort and an HEA. Our two main characters have to overcome a lot of issues from their past and a lot of hurt feelings, and it leads to a love story that feels very hard fought for and well earned. Sparks fly amidst danger, and with the help of all the other MBO guys, they execute a dangerous plan in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
As I said above, this was the perfect ending to this story, and I’m so glad we got it! I know we haven’t really waited a long time, but there was a time where I wasn’t sure whether this series would end with Zeus’ story, so for Eden to give us both the Angel & Domino duet and now Hazard within a few months of each other has been amazing 💖

🔹Story- 4⭐, Characters- 4.8⭐, Sex- 0⭐, Epilogue- 0.2⭐
📗3.7 stars| 3rd Aug 2026. Good story, terrible sex and derailment by SCs. So, i was looking for a story where a man grieving his best friend’s death meets the friend's son (his godson), who looks just like his dad. i wanted them to bond through their shared grief, starting platonically before becoming something more. This story is exactly that, to a T. So premise & storywise it was gonna be atleast a 4 star for me. But there were major issues with it.
And i forgot that Eden Finley can’t write intercourse b/w gay men. Like, at all. She should probably not write those in her books. It ruined such a beautiful story like this. So, i’m disappointed that it’s actually her who wrote this book and not anyone else who could do their intimacy justice lol 😭 But, for a very specific trope, the story hit everything i was looking for, so i’m overlooking the sex in favour of the story. Anyhoo, something bad happens and the Ops need a safe place to hide esp since Haz is now a target hence the story.
Drew as Haz and Sid who is his literal god father & his late dad’s best friend, who still grieves over that loss. He even sees Drew’s dad in Drew and calls him “Henry” from time to time! See why i needed the story? 😃 There’s nothing b/w them tho. Both are happily married to their husbands. Characters are mine & for review purpose only.
Several plot points were instantly likeable to me:
👉Decaf/Den was still stuck on his friend Jesse’s death. It’s not explicitly said if Decaf romantically loved his straight friend, but he’d wear his cologne, smell his shirt, look at their pictures, sees Jesse in his mind.
👉And Haz looks just like his dad. So he’s a constant reminder of Jesse. He even calls him Jesse from time to time!!!! 😭 BUT he loves Haz for Haz and not bcuz he’s Jesse’s son.
👉There’s this instant pull (not romantic, just protective) from Decaf like “i wanna hug him like i did Jesse, to look at him like i did Jesse.” Same for Haz. He really, really just wants his attention. He calls it his “daddy issues.”
✦Decaf immediately rising to protect Haz, forcing him to a safe house with him. Haz becomes his responsibility, giving him a chance to make it right by finally being there for Haz and saving him.. 🥺💙
👉Haz’s growing attraction for Decaf matched right back by Decaf. The forced proximity helping it happen.
👉It’s bonding 1st, romance 2nd. Happens naturally as they process their loss together and Haz taking care of an injured Decaf. i think Haz being Jesse’s son plays a major part in this.
👉These 2 stubborn dudes trying to self sacrifice for the other. Decaf is terrified of losing Haz. Their love is solid. 🥺 Orz.
Some other stuff i liked:
✦Haz is even a well built guy. Very athletic. Decaf is bigger. So buff & buffer.
✦Some ample angst cuz of lying, fear of abandonment and withholding info but also much healing and forgiving.
✦Even though it doesn’t take long for Decaf to get on board, it’s a slow burn.
✦Narrated by my fav duo Tim Paige & Liam DiCosimo. i love Tim’s voice of Decaf, but i think he gave Haz a voice too light. Like, Michael Dean level light.
Obviously i have issues with sex but also 2 other things:
❗*i rate sex different from sex acts and all my reviews reflect that. The views are my personal and may not align with yours. Only read if you’re ok with that. Else, please skip this next part.*
♦️To my knowledge, there's only 1 sex scene at around 70% and... it was a punishment cuz my God, it's so terrible. Complete crickets. Haz might as well not have been there at all cuz the entire scene focuses on Decaf. If he hadn't just said what he saw, and briefly imagined Haz as Jesse 💀, i genuinely wouldn't have known they were having sex. There's zero intimacy or presence b/w them. If there are others later down the line, i wouldn’t know, i simply skipped whenever i felt they’re gonna be intimate. i'm sorry. Also 3~ish other sex acts earlier.
❗❗i refuse to let this dampen my enjoyment of this book. i have now learnt to separate sex from the overall story (thanks Alice Winters & Morgan Brice!) and so, while i will never give a story 5 stars if it has bad sex (very few exceptions apply), i will also not try to rate a good story low just cuz of it. This is 1 such case. But the rating got low for this other reason:
♦️i hate when SCs who already have entire books come and steal the spotlight. Here, these dudes Iris & Saint get married and we're forced to sit through it. Why?? It wastes an entire chapter that could've gone to our actual couple settling into their new life. Who the fuck are these people, and why should i care about their vows???? 😭 i skipped that bullshit, obviously. Then suddenly... epilogue. HELLO??
♦️i wish they spent more page time actually bonding and talking than being horny. Would’ve been much better. They don't even make a move until 54%, don't officially get together until 94%. But we only see them as a couple in the epilogue, bcuz as i’ve said, the last chapter is wasted on others. We don’t know how much time has passed.
♦OP drama: None. Decaf & Jesse were best friends only. It’s ambiguous on Decaf’s part, but i’m leaning on him secretly harbouring some feelings.

👉These 2 stubborn dudes trying to self sacrifice for the other. Decaf is terrified of losing Haz. Their love is solid. 🥺 Orz.
Some other stuff i liked:
✦Haz is even a well built guy. Very athletic. Decaf is bigger. So buff & buffer.
✦Some ample angst cuz of lying, fear of abandonment and withholding info but also much healing and forgiving.
✦Even though it doesn’t take long for Decaf to get on board, it’s a slow burn.
✦Narrated by my fav duo Tim Paige & Liam DiCosimo. i love Tim’s voice of Decaf, but i think he gave Haz a voice too light. Like, Michael Dean level light.
Obviously i have issues with sex but also 2 other things:
❗*i rate sex different from sex acts and all my reviews reflect that. The views are my personal and may not align with yours. Only read if you’re ok with that. Else, please skip this next part.*
♦️To my knowledge, there's only 1 sex scene at around 70% and... it was a punishment cuz my God, it's so terrible. Complete crickets. Haz might as well not have been there at all cuz the entire scene focuses on Decaf. If he hadn't just said what he saw, and briefly imagined Haz as Jesse 💀, i genuinely wouldn't have known they were having sex. There's zero intimacy or presence b/w them. If there are others later down the line, i wouldn’t know, i simply skipped whenever i felt they’re gonna be intimate. i'm sorry. Also 3~ish other sex acts earlier.
❗❗i refuse to let this dampen my enjoyment of this book. i have now learnt to separate sex from the overall story (thanks Alice Winters & Morgan Brice!) and so, while i will never give a story 5 stars if it has bad sex (very few exceptions apply), i will also not try to rate a good story low just cuz of it. This is 1 such case. But the rating got low for this other reason:
♦️i hate when SCs who already have entire books come and steal the spotlight. Here, these dudes Iris & Saint get married and we're forced to sit through it. Why?? It wastes an entire chapter that could've gone to our actual couple settling into their new life. Who the fuck are these people, and why should i care about their vows???? 😭 i skipped that bullshit, obviously. Then suddenly... epilogue. HELLO??
♦️i wish they spent more page time actually bonding and talking than being horny. Would’ve been much better. They don't even make a move until 54%, don't officially get together until 94%. But we only see them as a couple in the epilogue, bcuz as i’ve said, the last chapter is wasted on others. We don’t know how much time has passed.
♦OP drama: None. Decaf & Jesse were best friends only. It’s ambiguous on Decaf’s part, but i’m leaning on him secretly harbouring some feelings.

Just like the rest of the Mike Bravo Ops books, this was packed with suspense, drama, humour and spice. It had me completely on the edge of my seat, and I genuinely could not put it down.
I loved both Decaf and Hazard, and seeing them get their HEA made me so happy. Their story had plenty of emotion, while the spice perfectly complemented the plot and the humour elevated the whole experience.
I also loved how much we got to see of the other characters throughout the book. It was the perfect way to wrap up the series, although I’m quietly hoping Scout might pop up somewhere else in the Sadenverse one day…

Thrilling finale to the Mike Bravo series!

It was so bittersweet reading this book because it meant we'd have to say goodbye to the Mike Bravo crew. But this was such a fun ending to the series!
“Opposites attract is boring. Stubborn lovers trying to out stubborn each other is much more our style.”
Haz has been searching for answers about his father for a long time, so when he finds old diaries mentioning his godfather, he joins his team to learn more about him. He doesn't expect the hostility that Decaf aims his way. But Decaf has been letting his guilt run his life for the past 20 years. Seeing his dead best friend's son just amps it all up and he can't help but take it out on Haz.
"Because I will lead you to wherever you want to be. There are no limits when it comes to us.”
When their team becomes a target and has to go on the run, a switch flips in Decaf and it raises all his protective instincts. He's determined to make things right by making sure Haz gets out alive. From explosions to hospital visits to healing in remote cabins, these two find ways to connect and all those feelings soon turn into love.

Decaf has always been a bit of a wildcard. He's always been around but we never really knew much about him. To see how much pain he's been hiding was certainly a surprise. But Haz was the right person to help him heal and move forward with his life. These two are a bit of a whirlwind because everything happens so fast. But when you're on the run, you don't really have time to stop and think. You just feel and go where your instincts lead, and theirs led them to each other.
"I never thought I’d feel this way again: hopeful. Fulfilled. Whole. And I owe it all to him."
This book was honestly so fun. It strikes the right balance between funny and emotional, and is so action-packed that you're constantly on the edge of your seat. I loved all the Iris content and that we saw little peeks of the whole MB crew. It went by so fast, but I really enjoyed every second of it. If you're a fan of this series, you do not want to miss this thrilling finale!

The Mike Bravo Ops series has been sitting on my TBR for a while, and it was next on my list of Eden's backlist to tackle. So when I saw the final book was available as an ARC, I pounced.
Hoooo-ly. Hell.
What an ending.
This can absolutely be read as a standalone, but knowing every member of the Mike Bravo team has their own book? I'm even more excited to dive into the rest of the series now (especially Iris)!
I don't want to spoil anything, but the catalyst that sets this story in motion is brilliant. It feels so timely and believable that if it made the headlines tomorrow, no one would question whether it was fiction. That's all I'll say.
What really stood out to me, though, was the grief. Hazard and Decaf are mourning the same person, but in completely different ways, and I loved that the book never suggested one way was more "correct" than the other. Grief isn't linear, and it isn't universal. We all carry it differently, and eventually we have to decide whether we're going to stay trapped in the "what ifs" or find a way to keep moving forward.
Hazard and Decaf have so much baggage to unpack before they can get their HEA, and they fight tooth and nail for every step of it. Watching their relationship evolve felt completely earned, making the payoff that much sweeter.
And the suspense? I was genuinely on the edge of my seat. There were multiple moments where I realized I'd been holding my breath without even noticing.

This was a fun read and a good ending (?) to the Mike Bravo series. I'm actually really sad over it, despite everything ending up okay with a HEA. I really like Haz. He's charming and kind of bratty and impulsive and sometimes a little whiney in the best way. I like Decaf, too. He's been carrying his guilt for so long that that's kind of who is. But underneath that, he's also protective and thoughtful and caring. He's a caretaker, so being laid out with a serious injury was tough for him. I really enjoyed seeing these two come back into each other's lives, avoid each other, then get thrust together. I liked the tension and the slight forbidden aspect. I thought the enemy in this one was plausible and kept me entertained. I loved seeing cameos from the rest of Mike Bravo. As always, the best scenes are when everyone is together.

I can’t believe this series is over 😭

So I read this as a combo of ebook arc and the wide release audiobook because I LOVE the two narrators for this series and I couldn’t bring myself to finish the final 20% of the book if not via their narration.
It’s a bit hard to talk about what happens in the overall plot without massive series spoilers but I think my bookish bestie Katkejt put it best when she described Hazard & Decaf’s romance as a quiet type of love. It’s the perfect way to describe their unexpected pairing, both helping each other heal from past traumas & move forward into their new future.
Its definitely bittersweet to say goodbye to the Mike Bravo crew though 🥹 I do wish we’d had a bit more time for the last few chapters & epilogue to let the story breathe a bit more before the end.

I wanted to love this so much, but sadly, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Decaf and Hazard were fun together, but their chemistry lacked that real "wow" factor. What really threw me off was the plot itself. Specifically the whole idea of shutting down Mike Bravo and running away. I know ending a series requires winding everything down, but this particular story arc and resolution just didn't feel like the right way to say goodbye.

Hazard is the fifth and final book in the Mike Bravo series, and after wondering about Decaf for so long, I was really looking forward to finally getting his story. I have to say, his character ended up being one of the strongest parts of the book!
Beneath his easygoing personality is someone carrying the weight of decades of guilt, grief, and PTSD, and I thought those struggles were handled really well in a way that felt believable. Watching him confront his past and slowly open himself up to the possibility of happiness made it impossible not to root for him. I really just wanted him to finally find some peace. 🥺❤️
Hazard was a fun contrast to Decaf with his confident, slightly bratty personality, and I really enjoyed their interactions. That said, I unfortunately never fully connected with the romance. Their complicated history gave the relationship plenty of emotional weight, but while there were moments of genuine chemistry, I wanted more time to see them build trust and friendship before things turned romantic. Their dynamic had a lot of potential, but the relationship felt a little too rushed for me. 🫤
Even so, I still enjoyed spending time with these characters, especially getting to see the whole Mike Bravo team again. The friendships, humour, and found family have always been some of my favourite parts of this series, and it was bittersweet knowing this was the final goodbye. 😭😭 The book does a good job of wrapping up the series, even if the overall story wasn't quite as engaging for me as it was in the earlier books.

10/10 this book was AMAZING. I did not want to put this book down at all and lost sleep to reading. I’m honestly also so sad I finished it because now it’s over and the Mike Bravo series has come to an end and I am in denial!!! Eden Finley knows how to wrap up a series my god, it was a perfect book on its own and then served as the perfect way to end a series.
Ommggg I didn’t know I would start this book off crying lol. I literally could not put this book down but was forced to actually go to work so that sucked, then I also ended up tearing up while reading it at work and had to put it down lol.
“I don’t know what’s more embarrassing: crying in front of the Mike Bravo guys or getting hard while tackling Decaf to the floor.”
There were also so many funny moments. I loved how much snarky flirting there was, I loved them joking around how Haz was going to murder Decaf and they kind of acted like they hated each other but that was really foreplay.
“I stand over Decaf’s sleeping body with a pillow in my hand. I could totally do it.”
I loved all of the ribbing about being old, all the godfather/godson jokes. It gave it like a thought of taboo but wasn’t actually taboo because Decaf only knew Haz for a few months as a baby and hasn’t seen him since, and the author did such a great job about not making things creepy.
““I’m willing to spend every single day of the rest of my life making my mistakes up to you if you’ll let me.””
Decaf risking his life for Haz and Haz helping with his recovery was so romantic and the perfect plot device to get them on the same page and to open up. Also who knew there could be so much tension and it would be so hot shaving someone’s face for them lol.
“My underwear is probably wet with precum. Speaking of things that are sticky. Decaf’s face isn’t the only thing that will be sticky in a minute. Fuck. No. Stop thinking about coming.”
The burn notice out of Mike Bravo was insane and one of the best plots iv read in a while, I literally had zero idea how this book could end, but it ended literally perfectly.

The burn notice out of Mike Bravo was insane and one of the best plots iv read in a while, I literally had zero idea how this book could end, but it ended literally perfectly.

I received a ARC of this book from the author.
I have read every Make Bravo book as they have come out, and enjoyed them to various extents. My favourites were definitely Saint/Iris and Atlas/Lemon, and I barely remember the other books (which were referenced a lot in this story).
This wasn’t a bad book. I didn’t dread reading it or want to DNF, but it was a bit lacklustre. My main complaint is that the main characters and story felt rushed. After the high octane adventures in the previous books, the story in this book was kinda bland and over very quickly. You could tell that the end goal was a quick happy ending for everyone, but unfortunately at the sacrifice of the actual story getting there.
In regards to the main characters, I felt quite disconnected from both of them and I felt like some chapters were short and felt forced. I also have qualms with how Hazard went from hating Decaf to being obsessed with him overnight. It just felt rushed and unrealistic. Decaf did nothing for me, and I feel like his coffee addiction story was an afterthought after it was mentioned in the previous books, because the story behind it didn’t quite make sense to me.
Unfortunately this book also had one of the cringiest lines I have read in an MM book, and having it be said by a 23 year old who was ex military just didn’t vibe with me. "Not when I'm aching with need." This feels very immature even for Hazard.
All in all, I didn’t dislike this book, it had some good elements and kept me hooked, but the story could have just been a bit better. Would recommend to anyone looking to finish off the Mike Bravo series.

ok i have so many thoughts. i’ve read this entire series and have been anticipating this book just like i imagine a lot of other eden fans have been. and top 5 authors for me btw i absolutely love her books. this book just really didn’t do it for me. wrapping up a series is so hard i get that. but never did i imagine this is the way this series would end. i thought they’d all get married, keep mike bravo up, maybe the epilogue ends with trav retiring and atlas taking over but i did not think they’d were going to have to flee. i’m a little disappointed tbh. also i feel like this book was really focused on that plot of saving everyone and not at all at developing haz and decafs relationship. the development from animosity to being ok with each other was there but from there it was like ok i love you i don’t want you to die. ai also felt like their relationship was just very selfish. an example ill give is when trav gets onto the boat after being underwater and haz shoves him and demands to know where decaf is. like girl he just fought for his life give him a damn minute. it felt very much about them all the time and i get that this was their book but this book was also so focused on the mission. the balance of the plot and the romance while also developing the characters was just off for me. i also hate how in the end they all split up. that’s just so sad to me.

A bittersweet ending to a beloved series but I was thrilled to see Decaf get his HEA. But the best parts of this story, is the gang all being together. The banter, navigating dangerous moments, risking their lives for each other, the found family is the true heart of this book.
In terms of Decaf and Haz, I have mixed feelings. The chemistry and sexual tension is definitely there but the pacing of their relationship felt off. I think this is due to a lull in the story when one MC is injured and the story sort of fizzles out while the MC recovers. It took too long and for the the recovery and the story to pick back up and hook me.
The emotional side of Decaf and Haz's relationship kind of felt instantaneous. One moment of hatred and the next of confessions. I kind of wish the pacing was better here or they had a few heart-to-hearts to hash everything out because I was confused. Especially when during their first time, Decaf was thinking about Haz's dad, which I am still recovering the ick from.
Overall, I am glad the series concluded on a positive note with all the shenanigans from Iris I need. I kind of wish Scout would get his own story but I understand also why he probably won't.

This last book in the series is Decaf's and Haz's story. Haz is Decaf's deceased best friends son and now the newest member of Mike Bravo. Decaf is not happy with this turn of events.
"When we agreed this would be awkward, I assumed it would be because we're in an empty void somewhere between past trauma resentment and ... friendship. It's so much more complicated than that."
There was plenty of action, danger, emotions and heat in their story. It was bitter-sweet learning why Decaf has such a coffee obsession.
"I'm so close to breaking it's not even funny. "
"Break for me." It's not an order. It's a f***ing plea.
I'm sad that this series is over but look forward to seeing what's next from the author.

Hazard & Decaf finally get their happy ever after and it was pretty sweet.
It’s bittersweet that the series has come to an end as overall it was pretty damn good and I’ll miss these characters and all their snarky shenanigans.

loved coming back to this universe! these books are so fast paced and thrilling! not my favorite book in the series but i enjoyed how it wrapped everything up and i did love the love hazard and decaf had for each other. the age gap is big and the “history” they have with each other is fraught but i liked how it unfolded and how it turned from that to lust/love. i just didn’t think the action part was as thought out as some of the other ones in this series and that really held me back from a higher rating. also i didn’t love the circumstances surrounding how they all ended up (hard to discuss without spoilers) but i did think it was a cohesive way to end the story even if i wish it didn’t have to be.

I did enjoy this book, but I admit that I enjoyed the rest of the series more.
This story felt like a stab at the current American Administration, which I'm totally on board with, but the romance felt forced.
I felt like more conversation and platonic development needed to happen between the two MC's for them to be able to bond and develop a romantic relationship as themselves, without the trauma being the only thing bringing them together.

Decaf's PTSD Rep was very well done and made a lot of sense for his character and how he felt about his current situation with Haz. It all tied in beautifully.

I would have liked to see more of the friendship between Haz and Iris because that seemed to be really strong and I liked the glimpses we got. Two chaos gremlins getting to have fun together would be a good read.

I enjoyed being back in this world with Haz and Decaf! This book was fast paced and I flew through it. I liked that it was less action packed than the others in the series. I also liked Haz and Decaf as characters but I wasn’t sold on their relationship. I was hoping for more yearning and romantic feelings. I felt like their connection was mostly physical. I also found the plot a little ridiculous especially the resolution.
