Purposeful Thinking

Rate this book
What if you could take the pressure off your fast thinking head long enough to relax, slow the thinking down and think clearly?

This book is designed either for you to skim and flick through, or to sit for a longer time and consider the nature of thinking and how it can be generated and used at a more relaxed pace.

It can be used as a personal or team resource to help you to become aware of how you think and how you can use your thinking capability effectively.

This is a practical book intended to stimulate thinking; to encourage you to pay attention to your thoughts and give them direction.

This book will help you answer these questions:

What might be possible if I were to actively choose how to process my thoughts and learn to manage and harness my thinking?

What if I could encourage those around me at work and at home to become more effective at processing their thoughts too?

What if I could train my mind to think more efficiently?

What if I could save time by harnessing my thoughts and apply the right kind of thinking to a problem or situation more often?

The book is divided into three parts for those of you who like order and structure.

Part One is all about the mind and how we use it. How we develop our thinking capacity and, in particular, the different elements that constitute how we filter and sort our thinking.

Part Two is designed to raise awareness of the thinking skill set. It highlights the distinction between our fast and slow thinking skills.

Part Three is a thinking toolkit designed to provide some practical help with purposeful thinking. It contains some tried and tested personal and team exercises that have been used in organizations and in coaching with individuals and groups during the last 20 years.
