Only problem: the fire he rescued her from is under investigation and she’s the prime suspect. He believes her innocence, but suspects she knows who committed the crime. His protective gene kicks in and he offers her to stay with him until they figure things out. The only question he asks himself—Why is he doing this?
She could only run so far…

When they request that she stay at the precinct, she panicks and takes the good-looking fireman up on his offer. She accepts to stay with a perfect stranger—one who causes her to feel things she can’t think about. For if she stays, she’s risking the lives of the people around her, but getting away isn’t going to be easy. Especially when Mike draws her closer to him the more time they spend with each other.
A mystery to solve…
There’s no doubt trouble has found Tessa and things are not what they seem. So does Mike put himself in the line of fire by rescuing Tessa? Or will the truth come out in time?

4 Stars!

I liked this storyline in this book. Told in several POVs', this book is a romantic suspense that will keep you on your toes until the very end. This is the second book in a series and I would recommend this not be read as a standalone as characters and POVs' intertwine. This book was packed with mystery, suspense, action, steam, emotions, and all around feel good times.

This is Tessa and Mike's story. Mike is a man who comes from a close knit family. He lives with his bachelor brothers. He is also a fireman who lives for the job. He isn't so much a player and he is open to love if it came along. What he doesn't expect is the girl he rescues one day, Tessa or the way she makes him feel. Tessa is running and when someone tries to kill her, she knows she needs to leave again before she is found. What she doesn't need is a man like Mike who makes her feel when she is in so much danger. With mystery surrounding them and a stalker who has no bounds, will Mike be able to save Tessa and claim her heart?

I loved Mike. He made this book. He was so sweet and sexy yet crazy alpha and protective. When he realized Tessa was his, he held nothing back. I also liked the faith he had in her when things could have gone a different way. I admired Tessa. She had been through a lot and deserved to find peace and love with Mike. They definitely had a connection and tons of chemistry.

I took off one star in this book because I struggled with a couple of minor things... the POV change. I found myself going back a few times trying to figure out who was talking again. I also thought there a bit too much emphasis on the side characters but a positive came from that because there is one future couple I fell for and am dying to get to their story! ;) I did enjoy this book despite my struggles and definitely look forward to the next.

I recommend this book.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, suspense, twists & turns, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Lost Chances (Lost, #1)

This is Tessa and Mike’s story. Mike rescued Tessa from a fire. She is running from something but will not speak up about it. Can Mike get her to open up about what has her running? Can Tessa live with running for the rest of her life? Will she finally have someone to help her fight against her past? Will Mike and his family help her or end up getting her hurt in the process? When danger comes to the door will they be ready or will it sneak in just when they think everything is fine and ruin everything?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author C.T. Nicholson.

Tessa was on the run from an abusive relationship and 1 that was almost deadly. Thankfully a handsome fireman saved her from her ex. Mike knew there was something special about Tessa when he found her unconscious in the fire. Now the problem was keeping her safe and finding the person who hurt her.

This is a lovely story with a great cast of characters. The attraction between Mike and Tessa is sweet and it is like the boy and girl next door.

This is for any romance book lover who likes a little more from their read.

I received this for an honest review. My rating on this is a 3.5

This was a an enjoyable read. This is the first book i have read by this author and wont be my last. I really liked the story and the characters. This is one of those books that just has a little bit of everything it has laughs and suspense and turns where you think where did that come from.. My only problem with this book is at first I had a hard time getting into the story (thats why the lower rating) but once I was able to really get into this. This ending up being a very enjoyable read!!!

Sadly this story was lost to me, I didn't care for the formatting in which it was written and it is not one where you have to read the first book but the reoccurring characters seemed a bit one-dimensional. I love a good psychopathic stalker and throw in a sexy fireman I thought I found a winner but it had too much side story not enough of the main story line. I think I will stick with C.T. Nicholson's PNR.
