I’ve hated Austin for a lifetime and loved him for just a moment, but that moment was enough to make me lose my mind.

I made excuses for him, believed his lies—I trusted him with my heart, and he eviscerated it.

How do you come back from something like that when the betrayal cuts so deep it hits bone?

The answer is you don’t. Some hurts you just can’t heal from. If it weren’t for Shepard, Riggs, and the little makeshift family we built, I don’t think I’d have survived.

Sadly, evil doesn't rest when we're grieving, so when my father sees that I’m vulnerable, he makes his move, striking out at my little family and landing a deadly blow.

But being vulnerable doesn’t make me weak; it makes me determined.

I take all the pain I endured, all the years of torment and abuse, and I let it fuel me.

Now the man I went to jail for murdering is going to find out exactly what it feels like to die at my hands

For hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Austin’s epilogue ruined the whole series. Turns out he purposely raped her when she was a child and then planned on killing her but she got arrested and sent to prison. Then he paid for other inmates to kill her inside for him but they failed. So, the only reason he “loves” her now is because of the bond. Not because he fell in love with her.

I feel like the author made all these various plot twists just for shock factor because none of them make sense according to everything we’ve read.

Riggs, the favorite and wholly devoted one, was actually a spy sent to her on a mission but fell in love with her. Of course he will never tell her the truth.

The sheriff is actually a murderer who has been working with Austin all these years. There goes the good guy who’s conflicted.

Austin’s a child rapist who has wanted her dead this whole time until the bond made him unable to do so. Even though Cali felt a connection towards him when she was a kid and felt safe with him. That whole connection was the driving force of the majority of their story and we find out that it was all one sided and he never gave a damn about her until the witch bond (which he forced when he raped her) made him become obsessed with her. We all love a bad boy villain but this was certainly not it.

And Jen is actually her mother.

All of this was just for shock factor.

Ew. What an awful ending. There is literally no way any of the characters actually love each other since none of them even know each other as per the epilogues. A happy ending for a MMC who is a psychopathic pedophile rapist is super ick. Also... Human meat burgers? Wtf

Well this was disappointing.. i really enjoy this author but I do think the choices made in this book was not great.. Honestly i feel the author was trying to get major shock at this point. The Main female character is raped when she is 16 by a man ten years older and she ends up with her rapist.... not to mention the other shockers that she ended this book with. Everyone is lying to each other. I want my why choose to be found family not whatever the heck this was. I am disappointed because don't think I can trust this author agian. I have read most of her books. The more I think of this book the more frustrated I get. So now my question is what is to stop this rapist from harming the young gal when she comes of age.. nothing.. The book ended showing us he was evil so nothing would stop him from doing what he did to the MFC to the young girl.

Gosh.
What a ride!!
Candice Wright really knows how to shock you 🤣🤣🤣
One minute I was in tears, the next I was fuming or swooning or blushing 🥵🥵 .
And right up until the last chapter, I thought it was a great ending to an amazing trilogy.
Right up until the last chapter, everything was fine, everything was clear, everything had been resolved, but then.....
THEN THOSE DAMN EPILOGUES HAVE COMPLETELY BLOWN MY MIND 🤯🤯🤯
And I still can’t think of anything else.
Those epilogues turned this trilogy into a masterpiece where nothing is quite as it seems and the author leave you hanging for more.
Looking forward to the next mindblowing book by Candice Wright 😌

Some things should stay unforgiven

This plot reads like one of those old romances from the 70s/80s. The thought that SA can be forgiven and binds the victim in a loving relationship is just as awful today as it was when those old books were written. After I finished reading it I felt as if I had just waded through raw sewage.
This was not worth my time.
The TW do not cover what happens in this book.
It gets 2 stars for grammar and pacing.

Spoilers - Absolute No

The epilogues ruined the entire series. I love how the author says “morally gray” when describing:

1. Giving a mid-20s MMC 🍇ing the underage FMC an HEA with said FMC. He pretends he was forced and she just takes him back. That’s morally BLACK and in no way did I sign up to read Lolita 2.0. 🤮 The MMC should have kept the hole in his chest.
2. The FMC, who was stripped of autonomy given 1, turning around and stripping others of theirs. Especially when tricking people into cannibalism was unnecessary. She could have done the exact same thing to the men and turned them into fertilizer. For the farm. That she lives on. That was, like, a major focus of the story. Dismembering people while they’re alive was “becoming a monster” enough to hold the plot.
3. And if I got this wrong please do correct me, I mean that, but what I read was the MMC that shot the other MMC and then had a whole identity crisis about almost killing someone while being a cop… had already done that thing with the person he shot 2 years before meeting the FMC? Did I get something mixed up there? If not, what’s the difference between him getting revenge for people he loved (harmed family) and the woman he loved (harmed family)?

So… sure. Great prose mechanically. But it feels like the author tacked on discordant epilogues for shock value. It worked, but #1 was a real dealbreaker for me.

I don’t know

I don’t think I will forget this series, not for a long time.
I don’t know if I can forgive the pain, loss, lying and deceit, mob mentality, stupidity and hatred that occurred in those pages.
Anyway, the ending and epilogues just killed me, they slayed.

Just Bloody Brilliant! After the way book 2 ended I was unsure how this book was going to go? My word this finale so good I just can't praise it up enough. This last book was chock full with plenty of plot twists and turns, steam but also a few sad parts too. I loved the relationship Calliope had with her guys even if I did find it hard to get my head around Austin. In this book it was the epilogues that were the cherry on the top of the cake for me. They were **chefs kiss** absolutely knockout! If I could give this series more than 5 stars I definitely would. A cracking read.

Epilogue Ruined It

(Spoiler-ish) The epilogue of this book ruined it for me. I’m a pretty forgiving reader if there’s eventually a good/justified reason for a horrific plot point, but Austin’s epilogue made regret finishing the book. Men who abuse women should not get happy endings.

uhhh excuse me what?

Not quite sure how to properly rate the story…

When I first started reading the first book I was hooked I loved the FMC and I was rooting for her. As the story progressed some things happened that made me feel a little unsure about some of the characters. Now with the last book you fully lost me. Riggs was my fav for most of the story. The Sheriff was kinda okay and then the last always had me on the fence about that one. But moving along because it wasn’t about them. However the ending left me so disappointed. First epilogue a little ew and a lot more ewww like why did we even need that. The second so he’s a liar and completely okay lying for the rest of his life about his true career and intentions ? Come on, I’m so mad that I liked him. Then third epilogue cannot believe the one I was like meh it’s the one I’m like okay I’ll let it pass. Guess why cause he literally wanted to come clean about it but the other was like yeah no let’s hide from her cause she needs your light. Like wtf ? Yeah totally great for a relationship with so many lies. Then we get the last epilogue from the guys and what did I even read??? Yeah he lied, harmed her, lied again and it’s gonna continue lying because his plan was to actually get rid of her so yeah he’s the biggest liar and fraud of them all??? I’m getting emotional here
I think we need another book one that actually has good guys and she’s uses her zappy zap zap senses to get rid of them all. Man I really enjoyed the story until the last book and I’m not even sure what to do with myself and the feelings. Lastly for the last epilogue it just made me sad instead of a resolution it feels like we oponed a bunch of cans of worms that the FMC has no clue about and that makes me sad instead. So yeah I need a break …

Do I recommend the book ?? Not even sure how to feel about it all

What a way to wrap up a story! 😳😳

The twists, the turns, the vengeance, the heat, the unbelievable and unexpected 5 epilogues that are going to make you scream. That is what Outlawed is, a story filled with all of those things and more.

Candice left us absolutely screaming at the end of Tethered, or at least I was, and then I started hounding her for this book, I’m not going to lie I was a bit obnoxious, but the need for this book was visceral. So the minute it popped up on my kindle I dropped everything and dove right in.

I’m not going to spoil anything for you, but know that we pick up right where Tethered left us, some pretty incredible things happen, and just when you think you know everything you need to know about these characters Candice writes the most shocking 5 epilogues that you won’t believe.

I am a fan of Candice’s stories, I’ve read them all anď keep coming back for more. This series is a perfect gateway into her books, so start with Wrangled and hang on, because you are in for the ride of your life!

I liked this story and the reconciliation with the love interests after all the strife.

I think the epilogues kind of ruined it for me. So you’re telling me Austin has lied to her all along and still is. Despite him killing his father and family friends because of their views and treatment of women, he was happy to use Caliope for her powers. His brother never drugged him or had anything to do with it. He violated her on his own and would have killed her if she didn’t end up in prison. I feel like this is opposite to how he was portrayed in the first book. I can’t get past this. I don’t want the story to end here with her not knowing what he did to her. He needs to be removed from her happy ending.

Also the Jen reveal as her mother is also awful. She left her and made a life for herself and didn’t really think of her. She was a powerful lawyer when Caliope ended up in prison and only then went back into her life and only because someone hired her to spy on her. I hate this.

The final book of this trilogy is here, and I am both happy, and still have so many questions. Pretty sure Candice Wright had that in mind when she wrote this final book.

First, lets start with a fair warning. If you want a sweet happy ending you can stop in the last chapter before you start the epilogues. But, if you want to continue on and have Candice Wright wreck your head while still giving you a HEA/HFN read the epilogues.

My emotions with back and forth, up and down this entire final book. Candice came to do damage y'all and she was absolutely successful with me, I am damaged and I am thanking her for it.

This series was wonderful, dark, angsty, and powerful. I am in love with Calliope, our FMC. This book broke my heart, made me laugh, made me cry... made me gag while laughing hysterically in a very confused manner because WTF CANDICE?!

Wow...

Love when an author puts their soul into creating a story that leaves the reader changed. The creativity and cleverness in this series is top tier.

Most books like to wrap things up with a predictable happily ever after. Huge respect to Candice Wright for creating characters with flaws and an ending that doesn't quite leave the reader with rainbows and butterflies. This brings so much realism to the story.

SPOILERS...

Killing off a beloved character is so risky. But in doing so it created some heart breaking moments and gave us some sweet revenge scenes.

I was so excited to read the POV'S of the other characters at the end of this book.

I had my suspicion of who Jen really was and loved her version.

Now Austin... Ugh... Not happy with his pov. Would have preferred the original version of him.

Overall, five stars earned!

All Of The STARS And All Of The Praise!!

This is book 3 of 3 in The Wicked West. (Don’t you hate it when you have to search reviews to check if it’s a complete series before you start reading!? You’re welcome.) A stunning piece of fiction. Brilliant all the way through right to the very last word. The surprises just keep on coming.

Everyone has secrets and things they aren’t proud of but this little town has so many more than most. For Calliope Hart and her men it’s time to balance the scales.

A deeply emotional story that speaks volumes about human nature. I’m fan girling so hard right now! This is one series I’m definitely going to want to read again. I’m rarely surprised by plot twists in books but this one definitely scored points! It’s a series that needs to be read in order.

Reviewed for Sassy Southern Book Blog

This is the third book in the series and it must be read in order.

This one picks up a couple of months after the last one so I found it a little frustrating as the last one ended with such a bang that this one didn't pick up with the same intensity.

This one had some emotional moments but I found it the weakest of the three books. There is more spice than you can imagine and there are some graphic torture scenes that won't appeal to everyone.

I thought Calliope was a great character who ended up seeing some of the good in the town and was hoping to turn it around. The ending surprised me with what was revealed about one character in the epilogue and one of them I still don't fully trust so we'll see if the author decides to do more with these characters in the future.

This is the third part and the conclusion of this amazing trilogy.
Calliope is resilient and determined, and along with Austin, Shepard, and Riggs, have developed a strong bond as their relationship grows from strength to strength. Calliope has helped the town heal, while her men have protected and kept her safe.
This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with found family, friendships, tension, drama, secrets, loss, betrayal, vulnerability, lies, revelations, reverse harem, healing, trust, morally grey, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable, small town dark romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

stunned

I have mixed feelings. I absolutely loved all three books, until the epilogues ruined the. After the epilogues, I’m just sad. And although I knew we were treading in some dark gray areas, finding out one of her mean intentionally graced her when she was a minor and he wasn’t then killed his brother so he could never tell her the truth. VOMIT. Am I supposed to find it sexy that he assaulted and then lied to her? I actually liked him until I learned that was all an ACT? Like Riggs disappointed me, but the Austin reveal made me nauseous. So bad Calliope had to be completely honest with everyone while none of them (besides Dawn) were completely honest with her. I don’t think a romance should make me grateful I’m single but here we are.

Wow!! I was not expecting that! Those epilogues had me shocked!

I think this was a fantastic trilogy! I was pretty much on the edge of my seat for most of it.
Thankfully, we get answers to our questions and we get some crazy revelations too.
This book had suspense, danger, betrayal, and so many secrets. The spice was delicious. We got bits of humor and some emotional moments.
Calliope remained a resilient, determined, and confident FMC. She grew so much over the course of the series. Riggs, Shepard, and Austin were definitely unique. Riggs was probably my favorite though.
I think Candice did a fantastic job wrapping up Calliope's story!

And this. This is the conclusion I have been waiting for.

This entire trilogy had me on pins and needles as I read each book cover to cover. I spoke to the characters. Laughed when I needed to laugh, got mad when I needed to get mad, sympathized and watched this town meeting get a little too much when I realized it wasn’t any ordinary town meeting. flipped the page to find out what happens next. Flipped them all until I could flip no more. Loved with the characters, hated one (he knows who he is. I’m not easily swayed by his good looks and power immunity).

This book also uncovers way too many secrets. And I was here for every single one of them.

Wow 🤯

OMG WHAT DID I JUST READ! So I finished Outlawed literally in one day was up to the wee hours and wow just wow I am left speechless! I have to admit it nothing else these characters definitely deserve each other. It was a brilliant book to wrap up this trilogy and there were loads of unexpected twists to the story and well I wouldn't want to spoil the ending for anyone else but seriously didn't expect that. Excellent story I have devoured every single one of them and am a little sad that it is done but the good thing is I can go back and binge them all again sometime. Something Wicked this way comes yeah you are not wrong there 😂💋

OMG Epilogue’s!

Candice ma’am- seriously…it’s like you woke up and said hold my beer to all your other amazing series. I’m obsessed 😍!

I love Calliope in every way possible! I’m claiming her. She doesn’t need the men.

But that said - I would seriously not kick Riggs or Shepard out of bed, now Austin he can belongs Shepard left off 🤣😜…but that is between her and him. I’m not giving anything away here so il leave it at that.

I absolutely hope we get more from these characters in the future though because I love them!

Wow! 😲

This series grabbed my attention from the beginning and I could not put these books down! 😍 Riggs is definitely my favorite out of the guys. ❤ Shepard is sweet but he did runaway from Calliope for a little bit and Austin is someone I could never like because what he did to her when she was 16. I liked him, hated him, then liked him again until the very end of this book when we find out his secret. Finding out Jen is Calliope's mom definitely shocked me and I understand why she doesn't tell her daughter. Highly recommend this series. 💕

This book is exactly what I expected it to be, wonderful. The third installment of the series had an ending that just left me completely shocked and wanting more. If you enjoy books that will keep you on your toes, gives you a happily ever after but with an ending you didnt expect, and twist and turns that will leave you thinking WTF then I recommend reading this series ASAP. I commend this amazing author for writing another amazing series that has left me wanting more and waiting impatiently (lol) for another book.

What a wild ride! Outlawed had more twists and turns than a mountain switchback. Calliope and her men did not disappoint in the finale of a fabulous series that kept me on the edge of my seat. Page-turning suspense, sorrow, heart-wrenching moments, heartwarming highs, and heart-pounding terror are only some of the emotions I experienced in this last installment. Outlawed is a powerful ending to this trilogy, showcasing all of Calliope's talents while bringing closure to her past. Riggs, Shepherd, and Austin weren't wallflowers when it came to their steadfast support for their girl and the family they have created. Answers are given, but more secrets are kept shrouded in mystery.

The epilogues are mind-blowing and left me flabbergasted. I highly recommend this series if you are looking for a read that is unique yet totally captivating. With Candice Wright's books, you never know what is waiting around the corner to surprise you next.

This book was amazing!!!! Wow wow Wow what a way to finish this series. Amazing epilogues. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire book. Calliope is an amazing lady. She has helped the entire community heal and get healthier. Making Dawn the light of the festival was perfect! Her men protect her in every way. When one last kayos happens at the farm. Calliope handles her business and keeps a straight face.
