Now available in one volume—three thrillers from Frank Peretti!
The Oath
An ancient sin. A long forgotten oath. A town with a deadly secret.
Something evil is at work in Hyde River, an isolated mining town in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
Under the cover of darkness, a predator strikes without warning—taking life in the most chilling and savage fashion.
The community of Hyde River watches in terror as residents suddenly vanish. Yet, the more locals are pressed for information, the more they close ranks, sworn to secrecy by their forefathers’ hidden sins.
Only when Hyde River’s secrets are exposed is the true extent of the danger fully revealed. What the town discovers is something far more deadly than anything they’d imagined. Something that doesn’t just stalk its victims, but has the power to turn hearts black with decay as it slowly fills their souls with darkness.
The Visitation
The sleepy, eastern Washington wheat town of Antioch has become a gateway for the supernatural—from sightings of angels and a weeping crucifix to a self-proclaimed prophet with an astounding message.
The national media and the curious all flock to the little town—a great boon for local business but not for Travis Jordan. The burned-out former pastor has been trying to hide his past in Antioch. Now the whole world is headed to his backyard to find the Messiah, and in the process, every spiritual assumption he has ever held will be challenged. The startling secret behind this visitation ultimately pushes one man into a supernatural confrontation that has eternal consequences.
Monster
Some monsters are real.
Miles away from the hectic city, Reed and Rebecca hike into the beautiful Northwester woods. They are surrounded by gorgeous mountains, waterfalls, and hundreds of acres of unspoiled wilderness.
During their first night camping, an unearthly wail pierces the calm of the forest. Then something emerges from the dense woods. Everything that follows is a blur to Reed—except the unforgettable image of a huge creature carrying his wife into the darkness.
Enter into deep wilderness where the rules of civilization no longer apply. A world where strange shadows lurk. Where creatures long attributed to overactive imaginations and nightmares are the hunters . . .and people are the hunted.
Frank E. Peretti is an American author whose work transformed the landscape of contemporary Christian fiction by introducing suspense, supernatural conflict, and spiritual warfare into mainstream religious storytelling. Widely regarded as a pioneer of the Christian thriller genre, he achieved international recognition with the bestselling novels This Present Darkness (1986) and Piercing the Darkness (1989), books that captivated millions of readers and helped redefine the possibilities of faith-based fiction. His novels combine fast-paced storytelling with biblical themes, presenting unseen battles between angels and demons alongside the everyday struggles of ordinary people. Over the course of his career, Peretti's books have sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and have been translated into dozens of languages, making him one of the most influential Christian novelists of his generation. Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and raised primarily in Seattle, Washington, Peretti overcame a difficult childhood marked by a facial tumor that impaired his speech until corrective surgery and therapy allowed him to communicate more freely. Those early experiences of isolation, ridicule, and perseverance later inspired both his memoir The Wounded Spirit and his lifelong concern for children facing bullying. Before becoming a full-time writer, he studied English, filmmaking, and screenwriting, worked various jobs, performed with a bluegrass band, and served alongside his father in pastoral ministry within the Assemblies of God. His experience teaching children at church camps rekindled his passion for storytelling and ultimately led him toward writing. After publishing the children's adventure novel The Door in the Dragon's Throat, Peretti experienced a breakthrough with This Present Darkness, a manuscript rejected by numerous publishers before becoming an extraordinary bestseller through enthusiastic reader recommendations. He continued his success with novels including The Oath, The Visitation, Monster, Illusion, and the popular Veritas Project series for younger readers. Several of his works have also been adapted into films, including Hangman's Curse, The Visitation, and House, the latter co-written with fellow novelist Ted Dekker. In addition to fiction, Peretti has written memoirs and nonfiction books addressing bullying, personal healing, and Christian living. His writing is distinguished by its vivid portrayal of spiritual warfare, moral conflict, redemption, and the enduring struggle between good and evil. While many readers praise his compelling narratives and imaginative vision, his theological interpretations have also generated discussion and criticism within Christian circles, particularly regarding the depiction of angels, demons, and supernatural conflict. Nevertheless, his influence on Christian publishing remains profound. Many authors and commentators credit Peretti with opening the door for a new generation of Christian suspense and speculative fiction, while scholars have noted the lasting cultural impact of his novels on evangelical readers and modern religious literature. Through his storytelling, Peretti established a distinctive literary voice that continues to inspire readers seeking fiction that combines suspense, faith, and the supernatural.
What can I say but this .should be a,must read in any Christian library, as Frank does such a great job of explaining how all creatures are divine creations of GOD, even those genetically rearranged by man. You simply cannot mess with GOD. I loved the hidden message dispersed throughout the book. Great read!
Very good books but did become long winded and redundant in certain areas. These books were all fiction which made their long windedness especially irritating.
I chose a 5 star rating, because all his books are page turners. They get and keep my interest from the start to finish. I recommend his books to all age groups who love good stories.
The Oath brought sin into the light. Sin is corruption; it is filthy and hated by God. Thanks be to Jesus Christ who has delivered us from the power of sin and drawn us into His light.
I believe that path is a book telling us the danger of our sins Visitation a book telling us the dangers of a false Christ and Monster a book telling us the dangers of mixing breeds of animals!!
I give the first story The Oath 4 stars because I did like the story and yet felt it could of been a tad bit shorter ....but daaaaaaaaaaamn the second story Visitation went on and on and on...I was bored......and I did not attempt Monster, too many great reads out there waiting to discovered
I so enjoyed this book. All the stories was so great. But the last was perfect. Never imagined the ending. Loved the maps at the end of each chapter . Highly recommended !
Good collection of books, I got this years ago back when Christian bookstores were a thing and by far my favorite 2 books are The Oath and The visitation. Monster was ok but it could have been better idk.
This is by far my favorite book of Frank Peretti. I have read it 4 times so far and will probably read it again. I like the 2 story lines that intermingle with one another. The woman who has been separated from her husband and lost. The rescue teams that try to find her but can't and the bigfoot family that is trying to protect her and themselves against a hideous creature that has escaped from a laboratory in the mountains of Idaho. Non stop action I love it!!!
I always enjoy Frank Peretti's books. His writing style and storyline always keep me turning the page and wondering how the story will end. Each story in this collection is unique and thought provoking.
