Now available in one volume—three thrillers from Frank Peretti!
The Oath
An ancient sin. A long forgotten oath. A town with a deadly secret.
Something evil is at work in Hyde River, an isolated mining town in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
Under the cover of darkness, a predator strikes without warning—taking life in the most chilling and savage fashion.
The community of Hyde River watches in terror as residents suddenly vanish. Yet, the more locals are pressed for information, the more they close ranks, sworn to secrecy by their forefathers’ hidden sins.
Only when Hyde River’s secrets are exposed is the true extent of the danger fully revealed. What the town discovers is something far more deadly than anything they’d imagined. Something that doesn’t just stalk its victims, but has the power to turn hearts black with decay as it slowly fills their souls with darkness.
The Visitation
The sleepy, eastern Washington wheat town of Antioch has become a gateway for the supernatural—from sightings of angels and a weeping crucifix to a self-proclaimed prophet with an astounding message.
The national media and the curious all flock to the little town—a great boon for local business but not for Travis Jordan. The burned-out former pastor has been trying to hide his past in Antioch. Now the whole world is headed to his backyard to find the Messiah, and in the process, every spiritual assumption he has ever held will be challenged. The startling secret behind this visitation ultimately pushes one man into a supernatural confrontation that has eternal consequences.
Monster
Some monsters are real.
Miles away from the hectic city, Reed and Rebecca hike into the beautiful Northwester woods. They are surrounded by gorgeous mountains, waterfalls, and hundreds of acres of unspoiled wilderness.
During their first night camping, an unearthly wail pierces the calm of the forest. Then something emerges from the dense woods. Everything that follows is a blur to Reed—except the unforgettable image of a huge creature carrying his wife into the darkness.
Enter into deep wilderness where the rules of civilization no longer apply. A world where strange shadows lurk. Where creatures long attributed to overactive imaginations and nightmares are the hunters . . .and people are the hunted.
FROM HIS WEBSITE: With more than 12 million novels in print, Frank Peretti is nothing short of a publishing phenomenon and has been called “America’s hottest Christian novelist.”
Peretti is a natural storyteller who, as a youngster in Seattle, regularly gathered the neighborhood children for animated storytelling sessions. After graduating from high school, he began playing banjo with a local bluegrass group. He and his wife were married in 1972, and Peretti soon moved from touring with a pop band to launching a modest Christian music ministry. Peretti later spent time studying English, screen writing and film at UCLA and then assisted his father in pastoring a small Assembly of God church. In 1983, he gave up his pastoring position and began taking construction jobs to make ends meet. While working at a local ski factory, he began writing This Present Darkness, the book that would catapult him into the public eye. After numerous rejections from publishers and a slow start in sales, word-of-mouth enthusiasm finally lifted This Present Darkness onto a tidal wave of interest in spiritual warfare. The book appeared on Bookstore Journal’s bestseller list every month for more than eight years. Peretti’s two spiritual warfare novels, This Present Darkness (1998) and Piercing the Darkness (1989), captivated readers, together selling more than 3.5 million copies. The Oath was awarded the 1996 Gold Medallion Award for best fiction.
For kids, Peretti wrote The Cooper Kids Adventure Series (Crossways and Tommy Nelson), which remains a best-selling series for children with sales exceeding 1 million copies. In August 2000, Peretti released the hilarious children’s audiocassette series titled Wild and Wacky Totally True Bible Stories, reprising his role as Mr. Henry, the offbeat substitute Sunday School teacher found in two Visual Bible for Kids videos.
Peretti released his first-ever non-fiction book, The Wounded Spirit in 2000, which quickly became a best-seller. The book addresses the pain of “wounded spirits” and was written as a result of painful childhood experiences.
Frank Peretti and his wife, Barbara Jean, live in the Western U.S. In spite of sudden fame and notoriety, Frank still lives a simple, well-rounded life that includes carpentry, banjo making, sculpturing, bicycling and hiking. He is also an avid pilot.
What can I say but this .should be a,must read in any Christian library, as Frank does such a great job of explaining how all creatures are divine creations of GOD, even those genetically rearranged by man. You simply cannot mess with GOD. I loved the hidden message dispersed throughout the book. Great read!
Very good books but did become long winded and redundant in certain areas. These books were all fiction which made their long windedness especially irritating.
I chose a 5 star rating, because all his books are page turners. They get and keep my interest from the start to finish. I recommend his books to all age groups who love good stories.
The Oath brought sin into the light. Sin is corruption; it is filthy and hated by God. Thanks be to Jesus Christ who has delivered us from the power of sin and drawn us into His light.
I believe that path is a book telling us the danger of our sins Visitation a book telling us the dangers of a false Christ and Monster a book telling us the dangers of mixing breeds of animals!!
I give the first story The Oath 4 stars because I did like the story and yet felt it could of been a tad bit shorter ....but daaaaaaaaaaamn the second story Visitation went on and on and on...I was bored......and I did not attempt Monster, too many great reads out there waiting to discovered
I so enjoyed this book. All the stories was so great. But the last was perfect. Never imagined the ending. Loved the maps at the end of each chapter . Highly recommended !
Good collection of books, I got this years ago back when Christian bookstores were a thing and by far my favorite 2 books are The Oath and The visitation. Monster was ok but it could have been better idk.
This is by far my favorite book of Frank Peretti. I have read it 4 times so far and will probably read it again. I like the 2 story lines that intermingle with one another. The woman who has been separated from her husband and lost. The rescue teams that try to find her but can't and the bigfoot family that is trying to protect her and themselves against a hideous creature that has escaped from a laboratory in the mountains of Idaho. Non stop action I love it!!!
I always enjoy Frank Peretti's books. His writing style and storyline always keep me turning the page and wondering how the story will end. Each story in this collection is unique and thought provoking.
