It was my first time reading something by F. King Hayes & definitely not the last!
She also popped my sapphic read cherry & I’m grateful for it!! 🤭
I have to say, I needed some time adjusting to the 3 POV’s & all the back & forth between past & present but after a really short time I was absolutely into it & barely couldn’t stop reading. It keeps you so on edge as well as guessing what secrets lure in the past, how the relationships evolve & how everything will come to conclusion. I won’t go into the story because it should be experienced by the reader. It is worth experiencing it yourself.
If the blurb speaks to you in any way & peaks your interest - READ IT! But keep in mind it is a tragic horror erotica with no HEA..

This was really a wild ride of emotions while reading - yes I teared up a few times.. 🎢
I cannot decide on which team I would be. There are reasons on every character that make you feel like you can somehow understand their actions & somewhat defend them with it. You definitely will question your own morals along the way.. 😅
And the ENDING/EPILOGUE? I’m confused.. it makes sense without making any sense.. at least to me.. 🫠😅

I highly appreciate F. King Hayes for giving me the opportunity to ARC read 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓓𝓮𝓪𝓽𝓱 𝓞𝓯 𝓚𝓲𝓼𝓼𝓮𝓼!
New reader unlocked 🤭 🖤

My first read by F. King Hayes, and it was a beautifully chaotic ride! The very first chapter I was so emotionally charged. Just when I thought I had the story figured out, Hayes took me for a sharp turn! I couldn’t stop trying to figure out how the story would go! Lilly is sweet as pie and Charlie is straight up freaking crazy. I loved all the curve balls that threw me for a tailspin and the twist towards the end pulled the rug out from under me! I can’t stop thinking about Mike though. I have so many questions for him! I can’t wait to see what Hayes has in her amazing mind next!

My dad says Charlie Callahan isn’t dangerous.
Traumatized, yes.
Obsessive, maybe.
But not dangerous.
That’s what he tells Anna after her therapy sessions, like she’s supposed to ignore the way Charlie watches people. The way she smiles without meaning it. The way she looks at me like she’s trying to remember where they met before this life.
The Callahans came to Pineridge carrying the wreckage of whatever had happened in Coldwater. Nobody talks about it directly, but rumors still find their way through town—whispers about courtrooms, violence, and a dead blonde girl named Lilly Wyatt.
Anna should have stayed away from Charlie.
Instead, she let her inside my house.
Inside her head.
Inside her bed.
And the more Anna learns about Lilly Wyatt, the more she realizes something terrible:
Charlie didn’t come to Pine Ridge to heal.
She came here hungry.

Charlie’s therapist says obsession is just grief looking for somewhere to live.
He says she projects. Romanticize. Fixate.
Maybe.
But Anna laughs like Lilly did before everything ruined her. Tilts her head the same way, too. Soft blonde hair. Soft mouth. Soft enough to make Charlie forget herself for a few terrible seconds.
Charlie knows what people in Pine Ridge see when they look at her.
Violence.
Courtrooms.
A girl who came back wrong from Coldwater.
They don’t know Lilly Wyatt still follows her everywhere. In the bathroom mirror. In perfume clinging to sweaters that don’t belong to her anymore. In the space beside Charlie when she wakes up, reaching for someone already dead.
Anna thinks she found her by accident.
But grief is a hungry thing.
And she’s always been good at following beautiful girls home.

The Death of Kisses by F. King Hayes.

When you open The Death of Kisses, you will find yourself in a story that is amazingly beautiful but terribly cold; the main character gradually sinks into obsession, and her original love turns into a dangerous time bomb ready to explode.

Charlie, the main character, has suffered many heartbreaks and is always on the brink of losing control, to the point where she can't even keep her own movements under control. Each decision she makes lands like a heavy blow in a tragic symphony, pulling the plot ever deeper into darkness, blow after blow. Although there are occasional brief flashes of joy in the narrative, that light is still too weak to counteract the momentum which is dragging everybody downwards.

Her toxic and inescapable obsession sticks to them as wet, cold vines: it first coils round her most innocent friend Lilly, then it gets entangled with the mysterious Anna, drawing both women, who had previously led lives of their own, into her whirlpool. The lives of all three are pulled towards destruction, and there is no possibility of salvation.

The stark contrast between Lilly's purity and innocence and Charlie's growing madness makes their difference jarring, and the tension between them is painful to watch. The misfortune that befalls her in the end has the effect of a blow to the chest, bringing about a dull pain which lasts so long that you can hardly catch your breath, and the sorrow remains with you well after you have finished reading. Although Anna seems gentle and cooperative, she conceals a dark, persistent evil that never allows itself to show.

That darkness never fully reveals itself; instead, it creeps out in small, delicate traces through her words and actions, giving you chills and driving the suspense in the story to the limit until you can't stop turning the pages. Supporting characters such as Lee and Mike blend perfectly into the story; they never have excessive stage time and never disappear without reason. Even though the plot alternates between past and present, jumping from old complications to current conflicts, the story stays grounded, and you never lose sight of its pace.

F. King Hayes skillfully hints at the truth through fascinating fragments from the past, building a suspense so intense that you will be annoyed by every interruption that disrupts your immersion. The gradual, mesmerizing descent into madness is profoundly realistic and leaves you breathless, with tears running down your face, and completely absorbed.

This book, The Death of Kisses, is only slightly less bleak than the relentlessly dark stories that F. King Hayes normally writes. However, don't be misled by its slight and gentle tone; the darkness remains present on every page and never diminishes in the slightest. None of the interactions between the men and women in the book are simple; all the relationships are tight and taut struggles. Under the surface, there is always a tempting kind of teasing and manipulation, as if a hand were grasping the back of your collar and pulling you bit by bit into the broken, chaotic lives they have been trapped in for a long time.

As you follow the story and gradually uncover these women's shameful secrets, the process of discovery has a melancholy, powerful appeal that makes it impossible to stop reading. In addition to the main plot, the book also includes two surprise guest appearances by Karter and Lucas. Readers who have been fans of Hayes for a long time and have followed his work over the years will naturally hold on to their copies and feel a quiet pleasure when they happen upon these two; the author included this small Easter egg specifically for his devoted readers.

What takes hold in your mind more deeply than the compelling plot is Hayes’ portrayal of mental illness, so vivid that it seems as though he has cut open a real person’s life and laid it bare before you. His writing is so intense and realistic that it's as if he has pried out the old, painful memories you've kept hidden in your heart through years, the ones that hurt even when touched lightly, and spread them out in the sunlight, causing a sharp, piercing pain in your chest so that you can never fully get away from what you're reading. After you have finished the last page and closed the book, Charlie’s powerful impression doesn't disappear with the end of the story; it remains in your mind and stays with you long after you've finished reading.

Anna's plot leaves behind a seductive, open-ended mystery that keeps bothering you and won't let go; of course, it might simply be my own desire to find out what happens next that makes me hold on to it so tightly. The subtle, cold connections that quietly link Anna and Lilly build to a final twist so dramatic it leaves your mind dizzy when you close the book. As soon as I finished the last line, I went back to the first chapter to read that moment again, and the second time through was considerably more engaging than the first, letting me discover dozens of small details I had missed on my first read.

As soon as you start reading The Death of Kisses, you are immediately seized by it, and it never releases its grip. As you read, your emotions rise and fall with the plot, tightening at times and easing at others, until you end up completely absorbed in a state of intense, disoriented fascination. The first thing you do when you finish the book is to say that there wasn't enough of it and that you would like to read more stories about these characters. It is a book you must not miss, but you should take notice of the trigger warnings since your mental health is more important than anything else, and you should not force yourself to keep going through material that will reopen your own old wounds.

One more thing to say: get ready before you open this book, for you are about to enter a dark and all-consuming vortex, and even long after you have closed the last page, you will still not be able to free yourself from the story.

This book explores how obsession can quickly spiral into something volatile and deadly. Charlie is a complex character whose choices throughout the story are absolutely heartbreaking (even during moments that appear happy). Her unhealthy fixation on her best friend, Lilly, and later on Anna, is toxic, and leads her down a road that leads to devastation. Lilly’s innocence provides a stark contrast to Charlie’s instability, making the violent loss of Lilly’s innocence hit that much harder. Anna shares a similar sweet demeanor to Lilly, but with a hidden edge and a subtle darkness that occasionally slips through. Meanwhile, side characters like Lee and Mike are seamlessly woven into the plot, helping drive the narrative forward while anchoring the shifts into the past.

F. King Hayes’s ability to feed the reader just enough, revealing the truth with snippets from the past was absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t put the book down and found myself irritated whenever anything pulled me away, disrupting the bubble I found myself in. The slow spiral into psychosis is as intoxicating as it is tragic, leaving you breathless and reaching for the tissues.

This book sits on the lighter side of Hayes’s usual pitch-black darkness (don’t get me wrong, because this is still a dark read). The spice is scorching and the interpersonal dynamics are seductive. Connecting the dots while discovering the rot slowly destroying these women is darkly alluring, and the surprise cameo from Karter and Lucas is a welcome treat.

The depiction of mental illness really stood out to me, as Haye’s creates a world that felt so authentic, it even landed on certain aspects that felt too close to home. Charlie’s character will be living rent-free in my head for a long time, while Anna’s arc feels intriguingly open-ended, hinting at a much bigger picture (of course this could just be my overactive imagination pleading for more). The subtle links between Anna and Lilly build up to some plot twists so overwhelming it demanded an immediate reread just to catch all the foreshadowing (which was even more fun the second time around. That's right my crazy ass read it again, immediately after finishing it).

Overall, this book grabs hold of you and doesn't let go. The emotional whiplash and delicious turmoil will leave you gasping for more. I highly recommend it, but please check and take the trigger warnings seriously, your mental health is a priority.

This book is a wild ride. There were a couple of questionable moments by each character but besides that it was a nice enjoyable read. Until you get to about 75-85% in and then it flips and you’re like OMG girl what. Plus OMG that ending. I need to go back and read the previous two books in this world and I’m excited to read future books in this universe. Definitely recommend you pick this one up but check your triggers because it’s wild.

My favorite thing about F. King Hayes is her ability to feed you just enough information to think you have it all figured out, just to flip it into another world you haven’t even considered.

The shock value of this story was way up there. I’m rereading right now after just finishing it to catch everything I missed. I’m not one to reread books often, but this story had enough plot twists that I have to go back to find all the parts I missed.

The storyline of this book was psychologically gripping. The things these FMCs go through are traumatic to say the least. It takes you through how easily people can be manipulated, underestimated, and fall into a state of psychosis.

Compared to the other books in this universe, this one definitely falls into the dark, check your trigger warnings category, but not as pitch black as Fixing Her.

My only dislike of this book was the age of the characters. Yes, they are 18 but for me personally I don’t like books where the setting is in high school. Could be due to my own trauma at such a young age, but I just don’t like it. However, I do think the FMCs being so young does fit within this story specifically. Their frontal lobes are definitely not developed yet and there will be ongoing trauma for sure.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I love the psychological aspect of it and the fact that you never truly know what’s going to happen next. I also love that the story ended closed, but also open ended. You’ll have to read it to figure that out.

Oh, by the way, Tommy saved you a seat.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving this review by my own accord.

This wasn't a book, it was a hauntingly sad puzzle that deals with the effects of grief, unrequited love, mental health, sexual abuse, murder and bad decisions... and I loved it. Which probably says a lot about me because this is NOT a happy ending. Check your triggers as the author delves into some heavy topics, but she does it WELL.

The plot twist. What the fuck. I had to actually put my book down to rethink what I'd read to question HOW DID WE END UP HERE.

My main thoughts I'm taking away are:

What you thought you knew, you didn't.

What you thought was love, wasn't.

Who you thought was safe, isn't.

This book made me question my life choices and I felt uncomfortable reading it (and that has nothing to do with someone dying in the prologue). The way the story developed and the portrayal of love versus obsession caused a growing feeling of uneasiness which only got worse with the more puzzle pieces we were given. Whilst I definitely felt like something was "off" about our unhinged Charlie.... I was team Charlie because I just wanted her to be happy. Anna had finally chosen her and I wanted that for her so badly.

The depiction of how grief can make time stop and reality crack was impeccable. It got to the point where my reality was also a little distorted because I was so convinced this book was going somewhere completely different.

Thank you for the emotional damage F. King Hayes- I can't wait to read what you come up with next.

Arc review:

5 ⭐️’s
This was so different from her usual work, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect going in, but holy shit, did it have me invested.

There’s something about the way this story unfolds that kept pulling me further down the rabbit hole. The author doesn’t give you everything at once. She gives you little pieces, just enough to make you curious, just enough to make you question what you think you know, and then leaves you sitting there thinking, okay… but I NEED MORE.

Charlie is a character you cannot look away from. There’s something so compelling about the way her grief and obsession bleed together until you’re not sure where one ends and the other begins. And the connection between Charlie and Anna had me hooked.

This FF dark romance is tangled up in obsession, vitality, death, grief, and devastation. It’s dark, unsettling, emotional, and a little fucked up in the best way. It’s like you willingly keep walking toward it even when every little alarm bell in your brain is screaming DON’T.

I loved how different this felt. It’s dark without relying on shock value, twisted without feeling like it’s trying too hard, and there’s this underlying sense of unease that follows you through the entire story.

And that ending? Excuse me… the icing on the cake if you will.

Definitely not her usual work, but I sincerely hope we get more of this side of her. Because this? This was fucking good.

Holy fuck. Five stars.

Dark. Haunting. Twisted. Grief-soaked. Beautiful.

The Death of Kisses may genuinely be one of my favorite books F. King Hayes has written.

This story was dark, atmospheric, tragic, and heartbreakingly beautiful. There were so many moments that felt almost poetic, shadowed by grief and torment, yet somehow still holding onto this haunting kind of beauty.

I have never loved to hate a character quite like I loved to hate Charlie. She is tormented and dark, but there is also so much love and hope tangled up inside of her. Watching that inner turmoil play out was beautifully done, even when it unfolded in the most tragic of ways.

Lily's story absolutely shattered me. ANNA left her mark on me. And Lee? Absolute scene stealer. I adored him.

I also LOVED the way the timeline moved throughout the story. Rather than slowing the book down, the shifts added to the atmosphere and pacing while steadily building suspense. Every piece revealed just enough to make me need the next one, and once this book had me, it did not let go.

This was also my first sapphic read, and apparently I decided there was absolutely no reason to ease myself into the genre. If this was my introduction, consider me fucking SOLD.

Five fucking stars. 🖤🌷

~Thank you so much F. King Hayes for an arc of this book. in no way has that influenced my opinion

The writing style of this took me a few chapters to get into, but after that I was hooked. Like I wish I could read faster but also not because I was enjoying it.
This felt like it jumped a bit in the chapters, like there were moments/transitions we didn’t read about and felt a little choppy. BUT in saying that it didn’t take away from the plot, story or characters.
There were many twist and turns I was not expecting, especially one which left me gobsmacked and starring at my kindle thinking wtf.

I was captivated with the story line and characters. I wanted to know so much more about everyone. I will say, I was enthralled by Charlie. She is someone I’d stay far away from, in sheer apprehension of a flip being switched. While being so enticed by her presence, I’d want to be friends. AND she’s a biker. I mean come on…. that’s hot.
These characters go through a lot in this. You see how loss, obsession, desire, and trauma impact these characters lives and their mental health. Which is why your mental health matters, and you should read the tr!gger warnings before reading this book.

Red Flags Turned Pitch Black

Besties… WHAT. Did. I. Just. Read?! "The Death of Kisses" is the kind of erotic horror that smiles sweetly, hands you a black lighter, and then sets your emotional stability on fire. Charlie and Anna’s connection starts with §talking, motorcycles, obsession, and enough red flags to decorate the entire town... but somehow I still kept thinking, “Maybe she can fix her?” Ummm... Girl. NO. 🫣

The dual POV and shifting timelines kept me questioning what was real, especially as Charlie’s grief over Lilly begins bleeding into everything happening with Anna. The Halloween 'hunter & prey' game had me completely locked in, and once that abandoned warehouse entered the chat? Pure chaos. But that cabin sequence? Besties, I was sooooo STRESSED. The darker Charlie becomes, the more disturbing the line between love, possession, trauma, and delusion gets.

This is brutal, explicitly 🥵, psychologically messy, and absolutely NOT a fluffy romance. That ending left me sitting there like… excuse me?! F. King Hayes really said nobody gets to leave this book emotionally stable.

My Ratings:  ⭐ 4.5/5  ▪︎  🥵 4/5

“The Death of Kisses” by F. King Hayes is a 5-star erotic horror! Charlie has been through some things and is trying to make a fresh start in a new town. Anna’s father is a therapist who welcomes Charlie into their lives. That’s just the beginning of a twisted tale that will have you wondering who you should really be feeling sorry for.

F. King Hayes provides a long list of triggers, so if you aren’t familiar with this author, you may want to check that list before getting started. If you like your books dark and twisted, skip the list and just jump right in! The story is told from the perspectives of Charlie, Lily, and Anna, moving between the past and present to weave together a story of grief and tragedy. While it is filled with some tough subject matter, this was a great story!

This is my first book by this author, but I have already added everything else she has written to my TBR. If you like dark romance or erotic horror, I highly recommend giving this book a read. You will not be disappointed!

Thanks to F. King Hayes for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.

Well. what a WILD god damn ride that was.

F. King Hayes is seriously a MASTER with words. This book had me hooked, confused, questioning everything and then throwing me another curveball when I thought I had it all figured out.

This is definitely a light grey erotic horror, but don’t get me wrong, still CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS because there are some things in here that are not for everyone.

Just when you think you’ve worked out what’s going on, she hits you with a “well damn… didn’t see THAT coming” and I was here for every second of it.

Also… I secretly need to know MORE about Mike. I feel like there is so much more to that man and I NEED ANSWERS.

And Charlie, well, Charlie is absolutely batshit crazy and I fucking LOVE her. She is the kind of character where you probably should be concerned that you’re rooting for her, but honestly…
TEAM CHARLIE all the way.

The characters, the twists, the absolute insanity of it all… I ate this book up.

5 stars because what the actual fuck did I just read, and why do I already want more?

I already knew about F. King Hayes’s ability to make us feel every page we read, which is why this author is always an instant read for me. This one is depressing, just as the author warned us, but it’s also about how obsession can turn deadly and how some kinds of love, instead of healing us, can become something much more obsessive.

I must admit that I felt confused at times, but page after page, the plot began to make more sense, and I found myself feeling deeply for every character in this story because each one of them is lovable in their own way.

Maybe it’s because my life lately hasn’t been so put together anymore, or maybe I just connected with Anna a lot, but I loved this story. And I loved its ending because not everything in life is hearts and flowers! I get that sometimes we choose a book especially for its ending because it’s so different from real life, but as I said, for me, in this moment of my life, it was utter perfection.

Thank you a lot for the opportunity to read and review this perfect story!

Gripping, exciting & anxiety-fueled

F. King Hayes knows how to make you feel. This book had me in a chokehold. It definitely keeps you guessing until the end. I found myself re-reading passages to catch what I missed. The dual timelines are brilliant! That ending was just jaw-dropping. I didn't see it coming!

Charlie is deeply flawed, morally wrecked, & somehow is still someone you will root for. Lilly's innocence utterly breaks your heart. Anna's hidden edge keeps you guessing. Lee is the kind of love that heals. The exploration of obsession, mental health & toxic love is both raw & uncomfortable in the best ways. The tension is relentless, causing the spice to be utterly unyielding!

My honest caveat: the writing is dense. Nearly every sentence packs stacked modifiers & layered clauses. It creates atmosphere, but eventually becomes exhausting. A big portion also relies heavily on em dashes, which lose their punch through the overuse.

Please be sure to check your triggers!! This is dark & unflinching! It won't land for everyone but if it lands for you, it will stick.

**** Please check trigger warnings! This is a dark F/F horror erotica and deals with some heavy topics. ****

Wow. I am completely speechless. I went in somewhat blind (I forgot what it was about 🥲) and I was not ready for what I read. Tbh, I had a bit of a hard time getting into it. The back-and-forth timelines paired with shifting POVs were a little confusing, and I kept getting lost. But after about a third of the book, it finally clicked... ish.

The plot was plotting so hard, and nothing could have prepared me for the ending. That absolute plot twist almost gave me literal whiplash! Throughout the book, I tried to figure out the who and the what, but every single theory I came up with was wrong with every twist and turns. The lines between reality and psychosis were blurred, and it left me questioning everything. This was such a dark, unique, and tragic story. I'm not sure if I would voluntarily read another book like this, but I definitely don't regret it.

My reviews are usually my rambles and thoughts. So sorry if it’s not super detailed.

I love F King Hayes writing. Her characters are always so complex and diverse. So of course these girls are just as complicated and complex. I did rate the this 3 stars because this isn’t my favorite from F King Hayes. I didn’t connect with any of the characters. I just felt sad for one. My Lilly girl. I think Lilly was my favorite and she deserved so much more. Her story was heartbreaking. This is not a spoiler since you meet her in the first chapter. the people you trust and care for will hurt you the most. Nothing is as it seems and it’s fk’ed I’m personally team Lilly 😭 my bestie is team Charlie 😒

Anyway, she’s done it again with bringing her characters to life. Read her other books because there are cameos of other characters. Don’t get emotional invested because you will hurt. This is not a HEA. Mind your triggers and good luck.

Wait, WHAT?!?!? 🤯🤯🤯 This is one of those where after you finish you sit there and process for a second because your brain needs a moment to catch up.

I'm not sure what I was expecting going into this but it wasn't THAT. I mean that in the best way of course. This was a solid read. I was invested in all the characters. Glued to every page. Invested in the timelines with past vs present and just devouring this entire thing and then BAM that. All that. Wow. What?!? 🤯 Had me screaming!!!!!!! Literally yelled WTAF at the end.

I took a break from writing this review so I could let the story resonate somemore and I still don't have words. This was a crazy, insane wild ride... And the cameo!?!? Yessssss. I've read every book by this author and I'm really looking forward to whatever is next 🖤

The Death Of Kisses 🥀

Oh I do love Hayes so much!! Every single one of her books just grips me by the heart & refuses to let go even long after I’ve finished! Ugh she is INCREDIBLE 🥹🫶🏻🤎

And this was no exception 😮‍💨 The secrets that were kept in these pages…I DIED everytime something came to light! My jaw was on the floor! You’re getting to know the characters chapter by chapter but the more the book went on the more twists are revealed & those characters are not who you thought they were!!

It was UNREAL 😮‍💨👏🏼

I absolutely LOVE the nod to characters from her other books too, they are the cross overs that make you think about which book they’re from & what those characters are up to now, it makes me incredibly happy 😅

Il forever be a die hard Hayes fan, love her 😌 This is now released so go and get your hands on it, but be prepared for the whirlwind-whiplash you’re about to partake in!

P.S Do we like Charlie orrrr is she an absolute psycho 🤷🏼‍♀️🤎

My first FF book and all I can say is… what a wild ride!!!!

First of all - Lilly, poor sweet Lilly. She deserved so much more than what she dealt with and the trauma she endured. And Lee, sweet baby Lee Callahan. Even though we don’t know an awful lot about him, I believed that he deserved his happiness. Him and Lilly were literally perfect for each other. Lee treated her exactly that way she deserved. If only they both weren’t so blind!! Literally breaks your heart.

Charlie, is the type of morally gray character you root for, no matter how many flaws and red flags they have. She shows you just how quickly obsession turns deadly! Anna walks into Charlie’s life and quickly becomes her newest obsession.

And yes, this is NOT an HEA!!

Please check your trigger warnings!

Thank you F.King Hayes for the ARC🫶🏼

This book didn’t just keep me guessing it stalked me from the first page. I went in hungry for an FF story, and what I got felt less like a gift and more like a beautifully wrapped trap. F. King Hayes writes with a kind of merciless precision that makes you fall for the villain, knowing full well you’re walking straight into the fire. There’s no softness here. No safety. No promise of a happy ending waiting to catch you. This story drags you through hope, twists it into something sharp, and then leaves you bleeding with the realization that you cared too much for someone who was never meant to save you. If you want comfort, look elsewhere. But if you crave a story that feels like a bruise dark, aching, unforgettable this book will ruin you in a way you won’t be able to shake.

I need to say this book .. I finished it so quickly because I couldn't put it down..

This book broke something in me and I felt like it was just ... Their story.

I remember screaming at the end of the book wtf did I just read? I had to message her and be like WHAT JUST HAPPENED.

This book... Is such a tragedy that I felt like it needed it to be written. It was beautiful and now one of my top favorite books by F King Hayes..

You want a book with no HEA and will emotionally damage you? This is it.. this is 100 percent it..

My favorite character was Lee. He was green flag energy.

I loved Charlie though and felt so strongly for her that the end threw me off because I wasn't expecting that at all.

Thank you, again, F. King. Hays for allowing me to read another one of your books as an ARC… WOW The Death of Kisses was a freaking WILD ride and so different from other books written by this author. This is not as dark as Fixing Her… but it is emotional.

Please, if you are a “trigger warning” person, (I am nor 😎😎) check the list out because this will have you clutching your pearls.

I love a crazy ass female, because they are so few and far between, and this book delivers!! Charlie was it for me, I couldn’t get enough. She was diabolical and I was here for it.

The back and forth into the past was a little hard sometimes to follow, but honestly, that is difficult to do sometimes throughout a book. However… by 70% there was a shift for me and it was amazing.

Initially it took a little while to settle into this story.
Im all for going back and forth to different times and places within a story, but this was all the way.
I did find that at times the pace slowed down a little too much for my liking, but when it picked up - it picked up.
That aside, the writing itself is descriptive and this book takes you on a ride, it makes you second guess and feel things and then just when you think you have it, there's a twist that you dont see coming.
The further along that I got with The death of Kisses, the more invested I got.
The ending had me feeling and it hit, hard.
This is a sapphic dark romance, so expect spice and check trigger warnings (if you need to)

I'm not sure what to say and not because this was captivating but I don't think this was the book for me, i felt more lost as to what was goin going and found it hard to figure out and found it jumped, like yes she's got the dates on each chapter but all of a sudden they were in the hospital and then the next chapter its like 3 months later and they're going on a trip, i did enjoy the story of Charlie and Anna and how they fell for each other. I honestly will say it wasn't bad but i don't think this was the right book or time for me to read this. I will say it wasn't bad or horrible the story and writing was great but i found i was more lost trying to figure out what was going on then what I would have liked

Oh, Charlie… WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?! And that epilogue?! Excuse me while I stare into the void for a minute because I was absolutely NOT prepared for that. 😭
This wasn’t as dark as some of her other books, but somehow the emotional damage still hit just as hard. I laughed, I hurt, I got attached, and then the author basically said, “Oh, you thought you were okay?” Nope. Not even close.
That ending completely wrecked me. And that EPILOGUE?! I need answers. I need a minute. I need to know what happens next because there is no way you can leave me like this. 😭🖤
Another emotional rollercoaster from her, and apparently I enjoy suffering because I’ll still be picking up the next book. 😂📖

This book is not a HEA so if that's what you are looking for move on. Make sure you check your trigger warnings because this one is one of those lol..
After all of that, this was super intense, lots of twists that I did not see coming. Very dark FMC's which is a refreshing read ( we can be cray cray too 😉).
It is a dual timeline, so for myself, I am going to be honest I had to read this one twice to really understand what happened! I really wanted the full experience of it, only because I felt like I missed so much the first time. That could have just been me.
Overall I would recommend this one!

This is not a love story. Please read the triggers before reading as your mental health matters.

Anna is a cheerleader at Pine Ridge school. Her dad is a therapist. She meets Charlie who is a newbie at the school. They become friends instantly and then lovers.

Charlie (Charlotte) is new to Pine Ridge. She has a therapist who deals with her as she talks about Lilly (her best friend) and the past. Lilly has gone and Charlie is left with a hollow ache.

Lots of twists and turns in this book. The reality of what happened … there was a lot of OMG moments. Dark, twisted and sapphic read. Really enjoy F. King Hayes books.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS

F. king Hayes can write a story that makes you question your own morals!!!
I Loved the different time lines and how it didn't give you everything until the end. Charlie was such a great character I was hoping she would get everything she wanted even know she was so fucked up!!!
I enjoyed the guest appearance of other characters from her book Fixing Her!!!

This was about relationships love.mental health obsession and the messed up things we do.
At times it felt like a romance but then the author reminds us it is Not!!!!

This book had me in such a state of anxiety it was bonkers. The way that the characters, relationships and dynamics are intricately woven left all scenarios open... I was constantly left guessing, coming up with new theories and what ifs and none of them were right!!

The ending is what left me speechless! The twist that broke my neck looking for where the hell it came from. Spectacular!

One of my favourite quotes - "The fire between us blazed brighter than ever, an unquenchable inferno that refused to be tamed."
