Price: Mastering ArcGIS is an introductory GIS text that is designed to offer everything you need to master the basic elements of GIS. The author's step-by-step approach helps students negotiate the challenging tasks involved in learning sophisticated GIS software. An innovative and unique feature of Mastering ArcGIS is its accompanying narrated video clips that show students exactly how to perform chapter tutorials before attempting an exercise on their own.
For anyone learning how to use GIS software and to implement the concepts of geospatial analysis, you can't do much better than this book. The instructions were clear and the contextualization of geospatial application is more than transparent to the student. A great foundational learning text, but as the software is continually changing I would recommend other desk references. I also urge the GIS student to explore other GIS software suites as this book focuses solely on the ESRI software suite.
You can only open this on an iPad. If you email Amazon then they will make accommodations that only include making it available on your iPhone. This really sucks. A lot.
It's difficult to read plus you have to do exercises with the software. My professor laughed at me and said I was going to go blind.
Get the book or buy a version if it's available to use on a regular computer or pdf that you can print the pages for your assignments.
