Lizzie's Amish Cookbook: Favorite Recipes From Three Generations Of Amish Cooks!

Rate this book
Lizzie Glick moves from "running around" to the adventures and anxieties of adulthood in the three-book series, "Lizzie Searches for Love." But one characteristic remains ever-present in all the Lizzie's love for food! Now you can make Lizzie's homemade oatmeal bread with strawberry jam and her tantalizing creamsticks. Lizzie's Amish Cookbook is a collection of over 175 easy-to-follow recipes for the food that Lizzie cannot resist. The recipes were selected by author Linda Byler's daughter, Laura Ann Lapp, who spent hours with her grandmother poring over her well-worn cookbooks for the best of Amish cooking.

From Chicken Stew with Dumplings to Veggie Soup and Homemade Pizza, from Pumpkin Whoopie Pies to Garden Mint Tea, this collection of recipes is sure to bring you as much pleasure as it does Lizzie. This recipe-packed book joins the three books in the "Lizzie Searches for Love" series and cites the passages in their pages where Lizzie picked up her fork and dug in with finger-licking vitality.

I probably would’ve rated this higher if it had any pictures. This is the second Kindle Amish cookbook that I’ve read and no pictures! What good is a cookbook without pictures.
Oh wait now that I think about it maybe it doesn’t have pictures because often the Amish don’t allow for pictures. Except I thought that was mostly just pictures of people I thought that you could take pictures of thanks

While the concept behind the formation of this cookbook was a cute one, the execution of it was little flat. I've dealt with better Amish cookbooks. This one's recipes and descriptions were a bit lacking.

I love this cookbook! I've used it many times and always gotten good results on the recipes. I wish I'd had it when I was cooking for a family; now it's just for me or when I go to a potluck. Highly recommend this cookbook.

Good recipes

I liked and will try several recipes in this Amish cookbook. I don't know if there was a problem when converting this book into the Kindle ebook version or not. The pages doesn't seem to be correctly formatted.

Good recipes...

Amish cooking has a reputation for being healthy and simple. This small collection of one woman's recipes follows that tradition. Little notes are included with each recipe.
