Attorney Channing Blake is looking forward to a new chapter in his life. He's graduated law school in Washington, DC and has returned home to the Twelve Horseshoes Ranch to take a job with Blake Enterprises. But he's not the only one who's back in town. Emma Winterbourne, his on-again, off-again girlfriend, has failed to make it in the Big Apple and is back in Texas, looking to pick up where she left off with good old Channing. Although the chemistry between them has always burned hot, Channing isn't sure he wants to be her whipping boy any longer.

Taking a chance for love
This story reflects what many young women must deal with who have cancer. The anguish Cassidy went through in dealing with her love of Changing felt so real.
Channing finally found out what happened to Cassidy when she disappeared. He was determined to love her and take care of her no matter what. All he wanted was the promise of today. He'd take however many today's they'd have. Channing also had to make sure that Emma would not continue to be a problem.
The ending of this story was kind of left hanging in the air because of the topic. Channing and Cassidy have their "Happy For Now" ending.

Tempting Fate
Amazing I laugh and cried,this was so good I woke up 3am to finish reading it,the faith that Channing had in his relationship with Cassidy was heart warming,for a cancer survivor it was just AMAZING keep up the good work,I will recommend this book to some of my patient as a cancer survivor counselor for AMERICA CANCER SOCIETY....

Truly enjoyed this story...Not all romance is sugary sweet with cherries on top. Couples sometimes have to deal with some very serious and heart wrenching issues. Channing (CJ) is my favorite and I look forward to more great things with him and Cassidy! I believe the Blakes are the 'new' Montgomerys (Deveraux)!! Love those families!

Sweetness!
It was a love story for the gate, now some of the players changed. Changing and Cassidy was a good match, but will he being sick might come in her way of that. But the Blake's want stand for that.

I really enjoyed this book. The only thing that bothered me, was Channing lives close to Dallas and he took Cassidy to the San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden for lunch. San Antonio is almost 4 hours away from Dallas. It makes it seem as if the cities are close to each other.

Channing and Cassidy meet in law school and after a first date she disappeared from his life. He returns home where his ex had also returned and wants to rekindle where they left off, a part of him wants to know if he can make a go with his ex but a larger part wants to know why Cassidy disappeared from his life. Meeting up with Cassidy again Channing knows who his heart belongs to but can they deal with the ramification of why she left.
