As a fan of shifter romance, I had a fun time with Bitterroot Heart. Even though this is the third book in an interconnected series and I hadn’t read the first two, it didn’t take long to get my bearings. I definitely think starting from the beginning would give more insight into the returning characters and overall story, but I was still able to settle in and enjoy Ali and Cora’s journey. I really liked the bodyguard-to-mates dynamic and the slow, natural way their relationship developed. Their chemistry grew steadily, and I loved seeing them together both in their human forms and as wolves. The shifting scenes were especially well written and added so much to the developing emotional connection between them. The larger series storyline is still unfolding, so not every plot thread is wrapped up here, but I appreciated that Ali and Cora’s romance reached a satisfying conclusion and it left me curious about what’s coming next!
