Jack is back! Attorney Jack Patterson returns to Little Rock, Arkansas after an old acquaintance, Dr. Douglas Stewart, is arrested for marijuana cultivation, possession, and distribution. Jack is no expert on drug cases, but meets with Stewart to fulfill a promise to his late wife, Angie, who was close to Stewart. Expecting to wrap up his involvement in an hour and enjoy the rest of the weekend golfing, Jack hears from Stewart that his arrest isn’t about the marijuana. Teaming up with his bodyguard, Clovis, and defense attorney Micki Lawrence, Jack begins to investigate why this highly-respected scientist was growing marijuana. He learns that Stewart had alerted the government about the existence of his marijuana garden years ago. Why the arrest now? Why are the Feds claiming terrorist involvement? Stewart’s wife, Liz, claims it has to be about her ginger snaps which are laced with marijuana to help ease the pain of cancer patients. As Jack delves deeper into the case, he discovers that both Stewarts and the federal government are hiding secrets, secrets that connect to a past Jack and all involved would rather forget.

Ginger Snaps, A Jack Patterson Thriller by Webb Hubbell is about the attorney, Jack Patterson returning to Little Rock, Arkansas to defend an old acquaintance, Dr. Douglas Stewart. He partners with Micki Lawrence again.
This is a convoluted, but intriguing mystery with many interesting characters. I gave it four stars.
Is justice delayed indefinitely, justice denied? There are many delays and obstructions in this riveting case about marijuana growth.
I received a complimentary kindle copy from Beaufort Books and NetGalley. That did not change my opinion for this review.
rated 4 1/2 stars. The highest rated book so far this year. Loved the way this book was written. Love Webb Hubblell’s writing style. This is the second book I have read by him one nonfiction and this fiction thriller. The book is very believable even though it is packed with actions that seem unbelievable. From the first page you are grabbed by the intrigue of cancer cure, government, drug wars, assassins, sex trafficking, drug companies, foundations, media and legal defense, courtroom drama and maneuvers. If you love thrillers and mysteries, you can not go wrong with this book.
Loved this book! Couldn't put it down-- Mr. Hubbell combines a good plot with suspense, courtroom drama, and well-drawn characters. He also works in contemporary issues that he clearly cares about, like sex trafficking and the influence of big pharma on American politics. I read his memoir many years ago-- I wish him well in his new career!
This is a great summer read. Jack Patterson is back and once again swept up in another Little Rock firestorm involving tough attorneys, crackpot scientists and a cancer-cure breakthrough that has the Feds on edge. Webb's extensive experience in state and federal government lends a frightening air of authenticity to this suspenseful and twisted story.
I loved this Jack Patterson thriller - it had the right combination of "yah" that could happen and intrigue. Also, there were just enough plot twists to keep your mind racing. I struggled to put it down the night I started it and immediately finished it the next AM.
Thoroughly enjoyed this thriller. Characters were fun and well-developed. Room was left for a sequel which is always fun when you enjoy the characters. Had the pleasure of meeting the author at a local library event and just wish his books had been available to read before the event. Can't wait to read the first one (which, of course, arrived at the library after the second!)
I received this book as a First Read. It's the second book in the series but works fine as a standalone. The book jumps right into the action and maintains a fast pace. The story is more believable than most and timely given the current medicinal marijuana debate and drug war. There's a nice mix of intrigue and government conspiracy thrown in. Clancy fans and West Coasters will enjoy this book.
This is one of the best legal thriller I have read in a long time the story take hold of you from the first pages to the last a non stop ride love the chacather can't wait for more from webb hub bell a great writer thanks to goodreads firsts reads for the free book
A serviceable legal thriller. Not the greatest pacing or plotting, but it will do. Set in three worlds Hubbell knows, Little Rock, the legal community, and corruption, it is a fair read, which is more than I expected when I picked this up as a curiosity.
Good mystery story about an interesting subject. Jack Patterson is back in Arkansas to defend a former colleague of his late wife. The one negative with the book was that it had not been proofread and there were numerous errors throughout the book.
Webb Hubbell's courtroom suspense is Awesome! It was a fast based treat with surprising twists and turns. I loved When Men Betray but Ginger Snaps is his most entertaining novel to date. Don't miss!
Great book, the story kept me interested and involved to the last page. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that like thrillers with engaging characters. I won this book from Goodreads.
