Bibs Johnson had always imagined herself—wearing bridal white—floating down a church aisle to her waiting groom. The dream spun out in mesmerizing details: her father moving with dignity that lingered from his days of full military regalia; her groom extending a tuxedoed arm as she squeezes her father's hand and reaches for her future with the only man who fulfills her.
Apparently it was only a dream. Ed Johnson has no intention of giving his daughter to a radical rabble-rousing reprobate.
The boy next door—Cory Whipple—was a fine young fellow. Trouble is, he grew up to be a man who dared to defy his country. It is the Sixties when the times are a-changin'. The day the trouble hits home for the Johnson and Whipple families is the day a fault line splits Bibs' dreams.
With her father's harsh edict echoing in her ears, Bibs knew she was on shaky ground. She could either honor her father or follow her heart. Two choices: each lurking in the danger-zone of a heart's Richter scale.
