There were a few times while reading this book that I felt like tossing it across the room (at least metaphorically). The descriptions of the inn and the water of the Caribbean made me so jealous of the main character, Maggie. I wanted to be there myself so badly.

I liked the idea of a book about an older woman starting over and learning who she is, and becoming her own person. Maggie was a great character and I was pulling for her. And the inn she inherited sounded so inviting. I could just imagine restoring it and bringing it back to its glory.

Maggie’s great aunt Wendy seemed to have a prescience when it came to Maggie’s life. It could have felt a bit too much, but instead it was just another charming aspect of the story. And thank goodness Wendy decided a handy man should be on site.

This was a refreshing story, a woman discovering herself, and finding romance along the way. And I really liked that the romance was there but not the focus of Maggie’s journey. I’m looking forward to the next book.

So many secrets

Marin Vale did a great job with Inheriting Her Island Inn! I was captivated within the first few chapters waiting to find out how Maggie’s life would unfold. I was not expecting it to go the ways it went but am totally here for it. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

Inheriting Her Island Inn Book 1 of The Bluewater Island Inn by new to me author Marin Vale is a book I didn't know I needed, such a great feel-good escape and I loved every page! I love reading about real life, older characters that reflect real life scenarios. Looking forward to more, recommend.
