This book honestly had a lot of potential. But sadly enough that editor let this book fall by the way side. Whomever originally edited this book, FIRE THEM!!!! The fact that this book was edited so poorly isn't a good look for a author debut. I won't totally disregard this authors work because of the errors and I will definitely be on the look out for more of their work. There were elements of this book that I didn't like, like the huge time gap. I feel like there has to be to something to tell in that time jump that will just as interesting as the rest of the sorry. The beginning was a little confusing and I definitely needed more details especially about Ice. He was getting it in and I'm sure him and Gizelle confrontations would've made for some good and funny scenes. I definitely disliked Gizelle the most in this book. I despise excessive label dropping and this book has more then enough in it. I loved that Isis was so driven and determined, very refreshing aspect of the book. Characters like Buck, Azzure and Vito definitely left me wanting more. I just feel like it was so much detail left about them that we the readers would've like to know. I personally saw this story going in so many directions but the fact that the book wasn't predictable to me was a plus. All of this is just my honest opinion and I'll be sure to follow this author to see what she comes up with next though.
I can't belIeve how this book needed, Omg Ice is one cold Biggs that he would go to that k much extreme over his daughter happiness. I love Ici, the girl was a go getter, hard worker, smart and beautiful, she was determined not to turn out like her mom, really couldn't blame her. Vito loved her to death, he really was her ride or die but she hurt him so bad.. He should have just waited to see what was going on before he did what he did. All of the money that Ice invested in Smooth just went down the drain, and nobody gave a care in the world after he died like that! Assure was If I best friend, little did she know that her off was really jealous of her, but will never cross her like that. She truly was her off. Buck was always on If I side though lol, he is a good uncle.Giselle...I have no words... I only gave this book four stars because of the editing, at times the book kept repeating itself and I had to go back and re-read it. Overall , good book,I finished this book in two days!!! I know there will be a part 2.
This book had potential to be a BANGER but I thought it was at times all over the place and something was missing. I will give part 2 a chance but honestly this book didn't do it for me.
