The narrator wasn't exactly stellar, but that's nothing I couldn't live with. The book, however, sucked. :(
Pity, because I had great expectations. This was my first Czech military sci-fi, and now it might well be the last.
The blurb says, "A single monumental battle with several interludes is waiting for you." I guess they mean how nothing happens in the first half of the book, then there are a few encounters with a lot of nothing in between them.
Wait, did I say nothing happens? I meant, *inside* the book. Outside of it, you will probably guess all the plot twists and big reveals *in the first moment the ominous insinuations begin*, if this isn't your first sci-fi book. (Maybe even then.)
There were a lot of crass jokes between the burly marines, but that's expected in this genre and I didn't mind. Some were quite funny, even. So, since the book ends just when interesting stuff might start happening, would I want to know how it turns out? Yes. Am I willing to read the second book to find out? Probably not. We'll see.

Z počátku jsem měl problém s hlasem herce, přišel mi málo "mužský, vojenský" na tématiku a děj knihy, ale následně jsem si zvykl a neměnil bych. Je tam pár drobností - české čtení zahraničních jmen apod., ale nic, co nad čím by nešlo mávnout rukou :) Rozhodně jedno z lepších namluvení papírových knih do audia.

Bolo obdobie, keď som si kládol otázky, prečo a pre koho vlastne existujú audioknihy. Bolo mi jasné, že pre nevidiacich je to jedna z mála ciest ako sa dostať k príbehom. Nechápal som, načo sú dobré pre nás, čitateľov. To boli sladké časy…
Toto som sa pýtal dávno pred tým, čo som začal denne dochádzať do práce niekoľko desiatok kilometrov vlastným autom. Rýchlo pochopil, že tie chvíle, keď sa venujem pozorovaniu cesty, môžem využiť práve počúvaním knihy. Vzhľadom na svoju multijazyčnosť som už vyskúšal audiobooky v nemčine, ktoré mi príliš nesadli, následne v angličtine, hlavne Warhammer 40k a Dresden Files, ktoré boli už oveľa lepšie. Teraz som dostal možnosť skúsiť niečo v češtine...
