In the intensive care unit of Preston Hospital there is no day of night, only the life and death struggle to keep the critically ill alive. And amidst the never ending emergencies and non stop tension is Kay Strom, charge nurse of the floor.
This book tells the truth, and nothing but the truth. Though, the story is fiction, the characters were real, but their names have been changed. The situations given in the book were experienced either by the author or the author's nurse colleagues. This story is about the "real" nurses, doctors, and patients. I can relate to this story,I was a young nurse then, during the middle 70's and 80's, and it does bring back good and bad memories of working in a hospital. This was an excellent book, thank you,Patricia Rae!
