I'm kinda torn because I didn't like some of the stories as much as I did 変愛, but this collection has the 変愛 couple in it too and for them I give this one more star.
This is another one-shot collection, some of which are connected to the stories in the first one. As I mentioned, the roleplaying couple make another appearance here, as well as the SM teacher/student. Harada's really good at writing scary obsessive guys.
Yajirushi means arrow, but also romantic interest towards a person. The title story is a really interesting depiction of this: a guy who falls in love with a manipulative asshole who uses him for money and sex. But underneath the asshole's contempt for his little gofer is the need to possess.
I was kinda thinking I'd never be able to read this because the book's not in amazon, but I found it at a bookstore, isn't that amazing? I miss going to bookstores. Anyway, I'm glad I was able to read Yajirushi.
Some of the other stories weren't 100% my cup of tea, although the premises are really interesting. Sex scenes were done well as usual, but the censorship though... why was the censorship in Hen-ai better when it's the same publishing house? The glow sticks method is defo not my fave when it comes to censorship.
Yajirushi is a volume with six different stories, all of them involving sexual and emotional abuse. Even if they are kind of extreme, every story is nicely depicted, the author achieved very nice expressions.
Harada’s works will always be my guilty pleasure. The dark themes are perfectly depicted that makes you wonder if you're actually fucked up as a person for liking such.
Honestly the story with the role-players was enough to make this for me. Oh my GOD. That was fucking great. Woof. I'm glad we got to see them again cause they were fun.
Um, anyway. These stories all follow very toxic fucked up relationships and it's pretty great. Like you're not meant to root for any of these couples and they get pretty graphic. Like triggers for sexual assault and pedophilia for sure, mental abuse too. They're super interesting reads. I think my favorite out of the toxic relationships was the one about the boy who felt extremely guilty and the boy that continued to feed the guilt so he could keep him by his side forever. It gave me similar vibes to Color Recipe. And oh my god the train one?? Fucked up.
Really didn't care about the prequel to the student/teacher story from henai. And the first story with the jerk and the errand boy was meh. I think it would've been interesting if it had just a bit more of something. And the office ghost one seemed kind of random in this anthology. I guess it was just a bit of a comedic break.
The last story which is a sequel to Hen ai is great and worth the entire anthology. Very spicy and also a very healthy relationship compared to the others. Honestly liked this a lot. Ending it with that one was a great choice.

Mi favorita fue Hikizuru Oto (The Dragging Sound).
• Yajirushi (Arrow) A student who's had it super easy his whole life and an errand boy with communication difficulties.
• Hikizuru Oto (The Dragging Sound) Twisted codependency of a boy who can't let go of his childhood friend due to an accident.
• Yugami Hajime (Twisted Beginnings) The prequel to Kyoushitsu no Yugami from Henai which describes the beginning of the characters' twisted teacher-student relationship.
• Chikan sareteru Kare wo Guuzen wo Hakken shite, teki na Tenkai de (Molested by Chance in a Typical Setting) A student is molested on the train and realises that it was seen by a classmate. Said classmate is worried about it and offers for the student to ride the train together to hopefully deter the molester, yet it only gets worse...
i read it a few years ago, and again recently. Yajirushi is basically a collection of stories that depict severe abuse (both emotional and sexual). a lot of Harada’s works have similar characters — the shy boy, the yandere, the older dude who manipulates — and this collection is no exception. they’re a good read if you want to read something disturbing, but i wouldn’t go as far as calling it psychological. just messed up, which is typical Harada, i’d say.
i come back to haradas work from time to time and man it never fails to fuck me up in ways that are unimaginable to me. i didnt like some stories but the guy with the broken leg stood out to me the most. it was the most well written. this is definitely not meny peoples cup of tea but youll like it if you enjoy haradas other works such as color recipe and nii chan.
This author really likes her dark themes. Being short stories most of them end where you would have expected the twist of the story to be meaning, in this case, that most of the stories leave you with a bad vibe (since none of the relationships portrayed are healthy (except for one)).
A very sexy, weird, intense, interesting, entertaining and kinky set of BL stories. Harada sensei is such a masterful storyteller. I loved the first story with the hole in the wall and the train story. I can't wait to reread this!
