Wow Sophie! What a brilliant end to a fantastic series. I am so satisfied with how you brought all of this happiness, sadness, laughter and even trauma, together in a beautiful ending. (I will forever be sad of never reading them again though.)
After reading Max’s novella and seeing more deeply into his emotions, life and trauma. I was so ready to read what Cathy had been going through over the months her and Max were apart. Cathy’s gut wrenching admission and fear in this book had me choking up.
This book made me so deeply emotional in so many ways: sadness, happiness, reflection. I so so enjoyed seeing how the, now healing Max, was going to heal a broken Cathy, and he did it so beautifully.
Please keep writing more beautiful, smutty romances! This series has been the best of my reads this year, and I’m so excited to see what else you have in store!

All the Words We Need to Say picks up exactly where the previous book left off, with Cathy completely broken after the decision she made to go to Hugo.
Watching Sara try to step into that maternal role for Cathy was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. She gives it everything she’s got, even though it’s so far outside her comfort zone, and Cathy recognises that. Taking herself away to the retreat gave Cathy the chance to be looked after, to breathe, and to slowly piece herself back together. By the time she leaves, she’s beginning to resemble a functioning human again. But coming home? Ding, ding… round two of zombie mode.
I also have to say, I absolutely loved Sara’s jealousy over Cathy’s retreat friend. It gave me some much-needed lighter moments amongst all the heartbreak.
Cathy’s pain never lets up. You feel every ounce of her grief, guilt and downward spiral bleeding from the pages. Then she finally sees Max again… and every wound they’d both tried to bury comes crashing back to the surface. I cried. There was no stopping it.
Also… can we all appreciate Priya?
“Nothing to understand. It’s going to be fun. And I love pickles.”
She was exactly the comic relief this book needed.
Cathy has battled self-doubt throughout the entire series, but this book takes it to another level. Every insecurity, every overthought, every fear settles right in the pit of your stomach. It was genuinely anxiety-inducing at times because it felt so real.
Max only asks for three dates. That’s it. He simply wants to see if they can fit into each other’s worlds. One adapts far easier than the other, because Cathy’s insecurities continue to hold her back. Knowing how much these two love each other made the slow build almost agonising, but when they finally get there… it was everything I’d been waiting for. Sweet, tender and completely worth the wait.
What I loved most is that neither of them is magically “fixed.” Cathy’s insecurities don’t disappear overnight, and Max’s fear of death doesn’t suddenly vanish either. Instead, they choose to keep showing up for each other, supporting one another through the things they’ll probably always carry. They’re perfectly matched, balancing each other’s strengths and weaknesses in the most beautiful way.
They deserved every second of their happily ever after. Their journey has been hard, raw and at times absolutely brutal. I sobbed right alongside Cathy.
My only tiny wish? I would have loved this final book to be dual POV. I adored seeing inside Max’s head in his book, and I couldn’t help wanting just a little more from his perspective here.
A truly beautiful conclusion to Cathy and Max’s story.

Max, I can’t believe I’m writing this, but you have converted me! Mr walking red flag had an overhaul and is now the ultimate green flag, that both he and Cathy deserve him to be. The growth in his character was next level and its an odd feeling to be proud of a fictional character but I totally am.
Cathy! My girl you got there. The super power of Cathy is that every single reader is going to resonate with her on some level, I don’t know how you did that Sophie but its genuinely phenomenal, Cathy is universally loveable. I’ve laughed with you, cried with you, felt lost with you and now have a happy heart because you’re going to live happily ever after 🩷
On to the friends. Sara needs a whole series…that girl needs her moment in the spotlight because she’s been the best supporting side character ever! Sassy, sharp, jealous and has the BEST one liners…SOPHIE PLEASE tell us you have something in mind for her. Oh and maybe a little novella for Alison so we can see where the world takes her now she solo…no pressure or anything 👀

I am so honoured to have been part of her team, as this is one of my favourite series this year.
“All the words we need to say” is the perfect ending to Max and Cathy’ story.
They both worked on themselves so much, and they deserve their happy ending.
While the romance in the story is very well developed, and the spicy scene are “chef’s kiss”; my favourite part of the series are the character’ arcs.
I was quite honest in my review of book 1 stating I didn’t quite connect with Cathy, feeling she used her low self esteem as an excuse to be lazy. Well the author did prove me wrong in this, with Cathy’s inner feelings being front and centre, giving the reader a much deeper understanding of her thoughts.
Max also kept redeeming himself page after page, recognising his downfalls and working on these. I also loved how he engages in confrontation, always so posed and not quick to anger at all (maybe apart from one scene😜)
While it’s great to read about love stories where the guy sweeps the girl off her feet and off the go into the sunset, life rarely works like this!
Cathy and Max’ romance is made of up and downs, as well as doubting themselves “even when things go well, and they should just be happy”
They keep working on themselves, as well as finding middle ground to work as a couple.
To me this approach makes the story very real and relatable💕
Finally let’s not forget the side characters!
I am so glad Sarah found her path, while not loosing her fierceness.
And sweet Alison❤️ I would so love to read a book about her as her story has only just begun!
Overall I have truly enjoyed this series, and I feel is one I would enjoy even more reading again to find even more nuances to each character❤️

Ahhh Sophie has done it again and what a book to finish off an amazing series! I was desperate to read this but so sad at the same time as I knew it was the last book 😭
The book immediately carries on from the previous book and how Cathy and Max are dealing with the fallout after London. My heart broke for Cathy and everything that she went through at the hands of Hugo and how she was afterwards. I loved how Sara and Alison were there for her throughout, giving her the time and space she needed and how they were there to literally pick her up at Sara's fashion show.
Ohhh Max, honestly he went from Mr Red Flag Guy to Mr Green Flag Guy and I loved it! Even I was swooning at how he completely turned everything around and wanted to be with her and look after her. And he created a library for her? So perfect 😍
I loved the scene where a certain character got what was coming to them and I was literally cheering Max and Cathy on with that! I don't want to give it away but its sooo good!
The ending was exactly how I imagined it and more, I'm just so happy they finally got their Happy Ever After ❤️

‘All the Words We Need to Say’ was of course different to the other books in this series, it was a really romantic and lighthearted read with some funny moments.
This was a slow burn yearning read full of wholesome moments, which was engaging and addicting. I noticed that the diversity really showed with ‘Elias’ (Cathy’s new friend) identifying as ‘they/them’ and one of Cathy’s close friends identifying as Asexual, one of my favourite things are when there’s lots of diversity represented. I found Cathy to be relatable especially how her insecurities were portrayed, I adored how Max reassured her, protected her and to my surprise, he was a gentlemen!! He's definitely become my favourite character now! He has ‘touch her & die’ vibes and I’m here for it. I also like how despite being the final book, there was still always backstory being added and it made the read fascinating!
This read did make me a bit emotional, so many happy chapters but also the sudden realisation that this is the final book and I’ve been reading this series since earlier in the year and I’ve formed an attachment to all of the characters!
This series is seriously phenomenal, I loved the change and growth, the portrayal of grief, mental health, Cathy’s support network, the drama and the romance!
If you’re a spicy romance lover then definitely pick up this series!

All the words I want to say but it was book 2… so… better read book one first!
All the words you shouldn’t say… I DEVOURED it! Imagine you’re in love with Mr Darcy but you find yourself falling for Christian Grey… it’s was… hot! 🥵
Book two… gets a little bit dark (albeit hotter 🌶️ but still… not at all PG) and you’re not quite sure whether to love or hate Mr Millionaire MMC…
Book 2.5 - Max’s Novella… what is hotter than a messed up Millionaire… a messed up millionaire who GOES TO THERAPY! Ladies… who knew men could change?!! The result… well… the chillies increase 🌶️ 📈

Needless to say that I am abosultely in love with these characters and want to see about three more books just on the supporting characters - can we get some Priya and Elias love?
I absolutely loved the ending to Cathy and Max's story. After all the trials and disruptions they've both been through, it was amazing to see and read such a loving and supportive relationship that they grow to have.
My personal favourite moment for me is a chapter right towards the end of the book, where a couple of characters get exactly what they deserve, but you'll have to read it to find out which characters these are, as you'll find no spoilers here.
What a perfect ending. Well done, Sophie. I cannot wait to see what you'll write next.

I absolutely loved the ending to Cathy and Max's story. After all the trials and disruptions they've both been through, it was amazing to see and read such a loving and supportive relationship that they grow to have.
My personal favourite moment for me is a chapter right towards the end of the book, where a couple of characters get exactly what they deserve, but you'll have to read it to find out which characters these are, as you'll find no spoilers here.
What a perfect ending. Well done, Sophie. I cannot wait to see what you'll write next.

Well, the last book in the All the Words series was everything I wanted it to be and more! I thoroughly enjoyed the happy ending for Cathy and Max, and was also glad that Sara and Alison’s stories were wrapped up nicely too. I wasn’t expecting Cathy and Max to be back together so fast, so it was nice that they still had some interesting story elements before the end including a Cèilidh and meeting each other’s friends properly before moving in together and living happily ever after. Overall I would definitely recommend this book series, the twists and turns were not always predictable, the book from the male lead’s POV was a great addition and the supporting characters were given more than just ‘lip service’ they felt detailed and complex too. This was my first experience as an ARC reader and it was brilliant, based on my experience with these books I would definitely do it again 😀

What can I say, I’m so sad that’s it’s over but happy how it ended.
Max and Cathy has taken up the best part of my evenings for the last week.
Now, I’m not sure where I go from here.
This is a fantastic series, not your usual romance. I have enjoyed every second of it.
I have felt every emotion from these books!
Near the end and thinking it over it kind of gave me Beauty & The Beast vibes, just with added bonus of spice.
Also the difference being The Beast is a handsome millionaire, sounds like he has a beast between his legs though 😂.
I truly hope to read more of Sophie Oswald in the future.

What a perfect ending to the most wonderful series. The development and Cathy and Max, seeing them battle through such different stages of their relationship, and come to the most gorgeous conclusion.
I personally would read another entire series based on Sara alone, it was amazing to see the female friendships at the heart of the story. Sometimes plantonic love is just as important!!

Received an ARC from Sophie!
This was a wonderful end to Cathy’s and Max’s story. I would read about this couple forever.
The character development in both Max and Cathy were amazing, and make me love both of them. The journey we have been on with these two characters feels complete and they are ready for the rest of their life together.
I loved all the side characters, I really liked Sara by the end, her and Alison are so protective of Cathy their friendship is amazing.
I’m sad this series is over however, I love this series so much.

I am so glad I finally have the full story, the waiting was killing me!!
As always this was a wonder to read, every book in this series has been. I'm sad to see it end but it was a beautiful way to end it and I didn't feel the need for more.

Another brilliant book by Sophie Oswald! Ive been with this series since the first ARC book and am a bit sad its finished now :( ive loved watching Cathy and Max grow and get things MAJORLY wrong and learn from it. Its definitely not your conventional love story but i just loved every part of it. The character growth for both main characters was just so so amazing. Overall a 5 star read for me!
