**This hot and steamy alpha billionaire romance is perfect for fans of Hannah Ford, Lila Monroe, Cassie Cross and J.S. Scott** The Wedding Rescue is a serial romance in five parts. All five parts are complete, with firm publishing dates, and are available exclusively for Amazon and Kindle Unlimited readers.
EXCERPT: I saw her across a crowded room. It’s such a cliché, especially for me. I see beautiful women across crowded rooms all the time. The Delecta was my casino, and she was sitting at my bar.
It’s hard to say what made me stop. She wasn’t a showgirl or a model, and nothing like the tall, skinny, overly made up women I was accustomed to. No, she was something else. She was real.
When was the last time I’d had real? Real curves, generous enough to have her hips straining the seams of her navy blue dress. Real tits. Had to be. They were soft and full, even from a distance. They, too, strained against her dress. Mouthwatering. And her lips. A plump bow, ready to open for me. I had to see more.
I eased into the bar, busy enough for six o’clock on a Thursday, but not as crowded as it would be in a few hours. I needed a better angle to see her face. From the door, all I got was long, shining, dark hair, streaming down her back in loose waves, a hint of her lips, the curve of an eyebrow, and nothing else. Did her face live up to the promise of her body? I was going to find out.
I crossed the room to the bar, nodding at a few people as I went. Sliding into the seat beside her, I raised a finger for the bartender. “Sir,” he said with a deferential nod. I waved it away. This wasn’t the time to impress her with my status. Not until I knew if she’d be impressed. She might be one of those anti-corporate types, in which case being a billionaire wasn’t going to help me get her in my bed. And the closer I got, the more certain I was. However her night had begun, it would end with me.
I ordered a Manhattan. At the sound of my voice, she turned to look at me. Fucking perfect. Her face was as real as her body. No dramatic cheekbones or startling blue eyes caked with mascara. No, she barely wore any make-up. Not even lipstick. Her grey eyes were clear and intelligent, and her sweet, rosy lips had a natural pout. Her dark brows matched her hair. When her eyes met mine, they widened. For a second, she looked like a deer caught in headlights. Or one who’d spotted a predator far too close and knew he’d locked on. Her instincts told her all she needed to know. She was in danger and there was no escape.
Alexa Wilder has been a sucker for romance since she found her first Harlequin at a hospital rummage sale when she was thirteen. While she loves all forms of the written word (so much that she occasionally gets caught reading the cereal box at breakfast), love stories have always been her favorite.
She lives in the southern U.S. with her husband, two sons, an assorted menagerie of pets, and spends most of her time dreaming up sexy, domineering heroes and the feisty, strong willed heroines who will send them reeling.
Serious spoilers ahead!!!!!! This book was WAY to over the top for me. I didn’t like the main characters because Dylan treated Leigha like a piece a property and Leigha was just dumb. The author tried to put in every trope she could within this one book: 1. INSTA-LUST: I really don’t like this but can read certain books with it when done right, and in my opinion, it was not. There was a complete lack of chemistry between the H and h. 2.Telling not showing: what I always like in a book is when the two main characters learn things about each other as the story progresses. We were always told that the H and h had long deep conversations, but all we were shown was the bland sex. This just made their connection weak to me and I had a hard time believing that they were in love. 3. The future brother-in-law: Leigha’s sister’s fiancé decide to try and hit on her and wants her to become his mistress. 3.The extremely dumb ex-boyfriend: Steven stole 10k from Leigha, then broke up with her and disappeared. Except he didn’t disappear like any smart scammer would do. Noooo. He started stalking Leigha. 4. Leigha is dumb too: She gets all these horrible texts from an unidentifiable number and just assumes that they have the wrong number. Then the person uses her name in a text instead of bitch, and she decides to blow it off for later. She’s just asking for trouble. 5.Leigha is still dumb: She meets up with Steven without telling anyone where she’s going and she ends up getting her hit in the face by Steven, her wrist gets cut by a knife, and she gets tied to a chair. 6.The ex-boyfriend is still dumb: Steven was somehow “smart” enough to become a scam artist and take Leigha’s money the first time but then he becomes this complete imbecile and takes Leigha’s car for money. 7.The mob: the mob is seriously in this story. 8.Steven...again: Steven disappears after the car situation and shows up AGAIN with a gun to try and kill Leigha. 9.The spanking: after Leigha escapes from being tied up and she takes a cab to the hospital to get stitches, Dylan meets her at the hospital and takes her back to his place. Then a few hours later, he decides he wants to spank her to develop trust between them. This is seriously not the time for this. Leigha just went through hell and back, so he need to simmer down on the sex for 5 effing minutes. 10. Grammatical mistakes: enough said. Between all of this, I couldn’t stop the amount of eye rolling I did. There was just way too much going on. I thought this was going to focus around the wedding and the main characters getting to know each other, but that was not the case at all. It just all felt so unbelievable, especially when you remember that this all occurred in about 3 or 4 days.

It was surprisingly good despite the ridiculous insta lust but whatevs. However, it's an erotica, not a romance, but it's steamy enough and doesn't have any degrading scenes that I hate with passion. The guy, Dylan, apparently is a control freak with a kink for curvy girls. Leigha is rather bland so far, with the scale tipping more into insecure and rather doormaty, especially around those bitchy hoes she calls sisters but I hope she'll grow a pair later (not literally though lol). But she's not bad. So far so good. Now off to book 2.
The only reason I rated this book a 2 star was due to how the male character belittle the female character. He was too possessive, showing her naked body off to a complete stranger and is over all rudeness was not intriguing to me. The author could have done with out several in my opinion, disgusting scenes. This would not be a recommendation read for the treatment of women.
Read this as a single book. I know this is a loved genre by many with these mini books building into one overall story. I'm thinking this isn't for me. Too short for me to enjoy the individual story but too much repetition to enjoy the overall arch. That said this was well written and had a lot of action. There was a little too much pretty woman and dumb actions by the heroine for my specific taste. He was (and he even thought this) a little stalkerish as well. Her family was over the top bad but that can be kind of fun too. I would have enjoyed a real set down of her sisters rather than the fiancé of the sister. A fun read.
DNF at 17% This should be advertised as erotica. Page 1 and we're already talking lust and body parts and borderline BDSM. I kept reading/ skimming in hopes that there would be some legitimate romance - like maybe he realizes that he's a caveman - but nope. Add in cliche upon cliche and I just can't bring myself to continue. She just met this dude, and given her nerdy character as illustrated, no way is she going to give him a BJ in the middle of a public hallway. Bu-bye. Author on my DNR list.
This is my first read of Alexa Wilder and I must say right off the bat that I am so happy that I got this series. I had so much fun with Leigha Carmichael and Dylan Kane.
Leigha is cautious about men who are to pretty to be interested in her. When Dylan starts talking to her and asking her questions about her life she becomes wary. But once Dylan has all her secrets out of her he offers her one thing as long as she gives him what he wants. She agrees to give him her body as he poses as her date for her sisters wedding. Things start off hot and they stay hot from the kiss to the ultimate sexual encounter. What is next I can’t wait to see.
1.5 - super easy read but it annoyed me how much the heroines weight was mentioned. Literally every second sentence was about her weight. The hero was kinda sleazy and yes I liked how he doted on her but wasn’t vibing. it just seemed unrealistic
What woman wouldn't want to be swept off her feet by a sexy man, even if it is only temporarily? That is exactly what happens in book 1 of this series. Curvy Leigha is sitting at a bar trying to drown her sorrows from her horrific ex and having to attend her evil sister's wedding. Dylan sees her across the way and decides he has to have her. While the hotelier views her as a breath of fresh air from all the women just after him for his money and reputation, she sees herself as too curvy, too plain, and too boring for any man to want. He offers to be her date to help her save face for her sister's wedding in exchange for her submitting to him the entire weekend.
Book 1 is hot and steamy and will have you wanting to go straight into the rest of the series!
***I received an ARC copy of this book from the author.***
I usually dislike series like this, but so far the cliffhanger wasn't awful and this is erotic enough to hold my interest.
Leigha (AWFUL NAME) is a self-proclaimed boring accountant, with a curvy body (and the way this is written her self esteem issues make it seem like she's HUGE, but really she's not all that big). She's sitting in the bar of a Vegas casino waiting to go to dinner with her family and crying over a series of awful things that have happened to her when Dylan Kane sees her. He's instantly attracted and convinces her to spill all her problems. He's hot, the owner of the casino and makes a deal with her for the weekend... he'll be her date for the wedding if she spends the weekend with him in his penthouse. And the fun begins....
I just finished this book yesterday and had no time to write a review until now and I do not remember one thing about it. I had to go to my notes.
I just marked it as a forgettable read. The hero's verbiage was awkward.
The following is in the hero's POV: "I pulled out of Leigha's curvy pussy and stepped back, taking in the sight of her lush, curvy body, damp with perspiration, flushed with passion, our come dripping down the insides of her thighs." (loc 591) Enough said.
Nothing about the characters really made an impact. Disappointing since I was in the mood for a great billionaire story.
The Wedding Rescue, Book one. I enjoyed this book. Dylan is obsessed with a woman he just met. She was different than other women and he knew he had to have her. They make a deal that Leigha couldn't refuse. Her family was shocked that Leigha had Dylan Kane as her date and her sisters tried to embarrass her in front of him. This is a great story.
I loved this story! I can not wait to read part two. Our billionaire has a obvious hero complex, and like to fix problems, and the heroine suffers from family and self-esteem issues. I am looking forward to reading some really intense drama in this series.
The Wedding rescue. Short read but very captivating. Pulled me in for book one and two now have to wait for book 3 through 5 to be released. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Spoiler................ The sisters are B*****S and I felt they needed to be put in their place. Hope they soon get a lesson brought to them
Loved the storyline and drama already going on in this first book. Now that our heroine has met her hero and agreed to his being her date for the wedding, what will happen next? What will Dylan find out about the two names she gave him? I can't wait to find out.
I started reading this as a recommendation from a friend....A million thanks to her! I love this story! Hot billionaire with serious alpha potential...sexy curvy heroine who needs a self esteem boost to realize she is THAT awesome... steamy enough to strip wallpaper!!!! Yep this is a definite must read...on to the next installment!
Starting of a good series about a slightly curvy woman and her two botched sister and mother they think they are so much prettier than she Is but she end up with the hottest man you need to read the book Yuri you will enjoy it I did so enjoy Margie Moran
I am a fussy reader. I have purchased and downloaded a bunch of Billionaire romance stories (some are bestsellers with 4 and 5 star reviews) but this is the best one I have read in weeks...
I love Alexa Wilder's writing, and this book is definitely up there with my favorites of her work. The chemistry between Leigha and Dylan flies off the page, and they are smoking hot with each other. I HAVE to read more of their story right now!
