Shortly after graduation, he moved to Japan in order to teach English to the hapless residents of whichever city he happened to be living at the time.
In 1997, he married the charming Akiko Koike and their union produced two rather interesting children. Frankel and his family make their home in Osaka where he teaches during the day and attempts to write YA fiction at night.

Ultra Clever Plotting
Fresh out of the Fire in ‘Disco Infernal,’ this reader took a leap of faith following in the footsteps of John Winston and Adrea Kim within the pages of ‘Infernal U’. Once more, both protagonists are under siege. Morgan, a demonic alien from Planet Adoku, far more sadistic than his predecessor, DJ, is running the show for “entertainment ratings”. Morgan has the two literally entering pages of novels John has read for the purpose of reenacting the dangerous scenarios in books written by author, J.S. Franks.

The portal entry point is Habler’s Book Store at six o’clock sharp. The catch: Morgan changes the scenarios, hoping to trip up John and Andrea which could result in death for them, and devastation for their families. J.S. Frankel’s imagination shifts to high gear during the four adventures which become more challenging and demanding of John and Andrea.
This doesn’t even include the unwarranted havoc Morgan wreaks upon them at the university they attend. You have to be there. Read ‘Infernal U’ to find out what goes down.
I highly recommend reading the sequel. It’s an adrenaline rush from start to finish.
