5 The Flirty Bad-Boy Finally Gets Hooked Stars!

Added a spoiler on 7/20

 photo image.jpg2_4.jpg

This is the third book in River Savages Knights Rebels series. I have been dying for Jesse's story and was praying it was going to be with nurse Bell. I was so excited when I finally seen that it was going to happen. I loved it!!
This series keeps getting better and better!

Jesse Carter is hiding behind a mask. He wears a fake smile and uses sex to drown his troubles. He feels responsible for the men he couldn't save while he was in the military. Jesse is so scared to let anyone in. He comes from a messed up childhood. His father was mean, drunk and abusive. All of this has had a hand in the way Jesse is today.

Bell Johnson has troubles of her own. She does not need a distraction like Jesse. Bells sister has been missing for six years and ever since Bells parents have had her on a tight leash. At 23 Bell has to constantly check in with her mom and has a curfew. To keep her parents happy she plays along with this.

The police have come to a dead end on her sisters disappearance so she has a plan. Get Jesse and his club to help her find her sister Paige. Bell knows Jesse is trouble for her but she just can't help herself when it comes to this man.

 photo image.jpg1_11.jpg

I loved these two. Bell was shy and awkward. Jesse was fun and flirty. I felt they were good for each other. They had smoking hot smexy times. Damn the boy can use his tongue!! Haha!!!

It took a long time for Jesse to see what was right in front of his face. Everybody could see he was falling for Bell except him.

I vowed a long time ago never to want anything or anyone. When you put yourself on the line and allow yourself to want something, you open yourself up to disappointments.~Jesse

I loved how Jesse was slowly pulling Bell out of her parents grip. Trying to get her to live her life for herself and not her parents.

 photo image.jpg3_4.jpg

Bell slowly worked her way under Jesse's skin until something sets him back.

Then when Jesse finally stops being a dumbass the tables are turned. Jesse now has to figure out how to get back under Bell's skin. lol Does Jesse finally get the girl? You will have to read and find out.

This was Jesse's and Bell's story but of course we got some of the others in this one too. This wasn't like other mc books I've read. There is little to no violence in here. If that's what you're looking for this won't be the book for you.
I can't wait for more!! I hope the next book is about Beau:))
Awesome job River Savage!!

***2 Stars***

WARNING: If you're looking for a tortured hero and a woman who saves him with her love....keep on looking. This is not that book.

Let me break it down for you. Sorry in advance for being long-winded....

Jesse is a war veteran who comes from an abusive family. His father was a war veteran as well and has difficulty dealing with everyday life. So he drowns himself in alcohol and verbally and physically abuses his family...but primarily Jesse. Between the abuse Jesse grew up with and the horrors he's dealt with while oversees, he hides within himself...feeling that he's unworthy of love. He fucks his way through life with a fake smile on his face.

Bell is a 23 year old virgin who's had her life on hold since the day her sister disappeared without a trace...that was six years ago. Her mother has a difficult time dealing with the loss and has a tight hold on Bell for fear of losing another child. Bell sympathizes with her mother and allows herself to be held prisoner by her mother's fear.

Jesse and Bell meet at the hospital where Bell works as a nurse. There's a pull they feel, but Jesse is all about the fuck 'em and leave 'em (naturally, Bell deserves so much more) and Bell thinks Jesse is way out of her league (because of course she's just not sexy enough for someone as hot as Jesse).

And in that ever typical cliche...Bell just doesn't see how sexy she is. She's just so sweet and innocent and unbelievably hot and every man wants her. Including Jesse. He tries to fight it, but when she asks for his and the club's help in finding her sister....there's no way he can stay away. He needs her. Something about her pulls him in, settles something inside of him...just feels too good to give up.

From here, all of the "getting to know you" is happening off page. We're told of non stop texts checking in on each other and hours long late night phone calls. We see NONE of this.

Anyways...moving on. Jesse and Bell continue this cat and mouse game for almost the entire book. He tells her he can't give her more than fucking, she says she'll take whatever he can give her. She starts to push for more from him, he retreats...usually by lashing out at her or running away for a few days. She takes the blame for him lashing out and apologizes. Rinse and repeat.

Jesse's verbally abusive behavior was meant to make him a tortured hero, but all it did was make him a verbally abusive asshole. Bell was supposed to be this sweet and innocent heroine who helps Jesse find peace and love with her affection, patience and understanding...but she was nothing more than a meek pushover with no backbone who allowed a man to steamroll her and her feelings. A doormat.

Some spoiler(ish) examples:

There was nothing tortured about Jesse...he was a verbally abusive and controlling asshole. There was nothing sweet and innocent about Bell....she was a doormat who came up with excuses for Jesse's behavior.

TITLE: Desertion
SERIES: (Knights Rebels MC #3)
AUTHOR: River Savage
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
RELEASE DATE: July 14th 2015
MY RATING: 5 STARS

WOWZA

You know that clique saying: Once I picked this up I couldn't put it down *rolls eyes* yeah that saying, well for this book that clique rang true, I got so absorbed in this book, the feels, the characters, the story line had me reading as though I was a junkie on speed I devoured this book..Out of the rest in the series this is probably one of my favourites..

A FIRE FIGHTER - A MARINE - A BIKER (All things that make up Jesse)

A MAN FALLING APART

I have stalked and stalked this book waiting for release day, freaking nearly died when I got a message from the author and saw this sitting in my kindle woot woot, if this book doesn't get me out if my book funk nothing will!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Like previous books in this series River just has that knack of grabbing your undivided attention as soon as you start reading it..I love her writing style, and how it just flows so smoothly page after page, I love how I haven't had to back peddle to remember past books because as soon as I started this it all just started coming back to me..Crazy love this series..what always sticks out in this series too is the non Insta love and this book is no different, the attraction is there for both parties, Bell naive and inexperienced and Jess not wanting to crave, need something that may let him down..

Paige, Bells sister was sixteen the night she disappeared, one night after work she just never made it home, her body has never been found, the family has not moved on..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I can’t trust myself around her. I want her more than I’ve ever wanted anyone before, and that alone is dangerous. I vowed a long time ago never to want anything or anyone. I need to stay away from Bell Johnson. She makes me want.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's definitely a crazy up and down roller coaster of a ride with these two characters Jess and shy nurse Bell, she finds him undeniably attractive until he opens his mouth and he feels like she's playing games and not at all the shy female she makes out to be..

One minute, it's like I'm looking into the eyes of a man falling apart, fighting demons, and the next, he's playing with me. If only I knew which one was the real Jesse Carter.

I wanted to see if I could hire you. I didn’t plan on tricking you. The girls dressed me up, and when you didn’t recognize me, I felt braver talking to you.
Hire me?
Hire the Knights Rebels I elaborate.
Sweetheart, you don’t have to hire me or any of my brothers.
His smirk is full of confidence and lust, completely not understanding what I meant.
Not like that, you idiot. I want to hire you to help find my sister.

She's made her way into my life and for some reason, I want to protect her, but I'm not capable of love. I'm not willing to open myself up to it.

Love trumps everything and I need to show Jesse that.

This is one of the hardest reviews I've had to write in a long time. I had strong feelings going into this read that it would push my boundaries. It broke them. It hurt badly. I had so many triggers that I was a mess when finished. I have dealt with so many of the things that were faced and encountered in this book that I am in utter emotional overload. Everyone has struggles and things in their life that can make them turn into someone that is different from who they'd be if things had been different. I acknowledge that Jesse turned into someone that was far from who everyone saw on the outside. In previous book we saw this happy playboy who never took anything serious. But underneath that facade was a damaged boy still hurting from a childhood filled with pain. I lived his childhood. But far worse. I chose to not use and hurt people though. I chose differently. I also have a US Marine son who suffers from PTsD and who also struggles. I was married to an alcoholic who who abused and push me away with ugly damaging words like Jesse. Up until Bell, Jesse went through life never having to face what he was living. After Bell he saw who he was and how he needed to change. The way he treated Bell hurt me far worse than most readers because of my life, my past and everything I've seen and been through. I had a very hard time with this love story. I felt Bell deserved better. But having said that I think River wrote a compelling, emotional story about characters that were damaged by first choices and actions of others and then showed how letting that hurt destroy you can later reach out and hurt those around you. While this book may not be emotional to other readers that didn't have flashbacks like I did, it doesn't change how I feel. I didn't enjoy it. It hurt too much. I didn't find the peace I wanted at the end of this either unfortunately. But I did feel that the author put a lot of emotions into the story. I just didn't get my loyal , supportive, hero. My enjoyment would I'm sure have been totally different if my life hadn't mirrored a lot of what happens in this read. Just too many flashbacks from a relationship that tried to destroy me caused me to feel nothing but anxiety for Bell being with Jesse. I just hurt to much to believe he changed. I just kept hearing those hurtful damaging words and his disloyal actions with another woman. Regardless of how far it went ..it was not Jesse who stopped it. His thoughts hurt my heart. I felt so bad for Bell. So even though I didn't believe in this couple, there was a positive. I was happy seeing more of the protective and loyal Nix and Sy. The crazy antics of Holly and my favorite heroine of the series Kadence. I hope the next read by River hurts less. I really hope her next hero doesn't break my heart. Because when she gives me a hero who doesn't even think of another woman like Nix, she gives me perfection.
My own personal struggles shouldn't deter others from reading this book. Reading is personal and everyone reacts different. Please respect that.

River Sage doesn't sugarcoat her books which I find refreshing. I love that she never fails to weave raw, gritty, emotionally driven and romance into her books. And in her newest release, Desertion, she brought those elements and so much more in the story of Jesse and Bell.

#Desertion

Jesse Carter was a former firefighter and marine and now a member of the Knights Rebel MC. His past in the military haunts him after losing his brothers in the field. Suffering from PTSD, the only way he escapes his demons is through alcohol and women.

Bell also known as Nurse Bell is as innocent as they come. She is a 23 year virgin, who seeks out to find out what happened to her sister Paige when she went missing six years ago. After her sister went missing, Paige's mom went overboard in sheltering Bell causing her to practically live in a plastic bubble. A part of Bell understand her parents since she knows losing her sister is not easy on them but a part of her wants to live. So when Bell approaches Jesse to help her solve and find out what happen to Paige, she never expected that she will fall deep for Jesse. And soon Jesse and Bell finds themselves entangled in a heated sexual relationship? Will Bell be the one to help Jesse face his inner demons? And will Jesse be able to help find closure for Bell and her family?

Desertion was a well written story that captures pure raw passion and emotions. River Savage truly engages her readers to feel for her characters whether it be anger, hurt, jealousy, heartbreak, loss or love. All I can say Desertion was another great installment to this series.

Holy hot and brilliant biker book! Desertion, like the rest of the Knights Rebels series, is raw, racy, riveting, romantic, and oh-so-real. River Savage's latest masterpiece, Desertion takes you on a memorable and magnetic merry-go-around of emotions where your heart and head are spinning around and around with feelings of anger, happiness, sadness, and frustration so much that you hope, like a Russian Roulette Wheel, it lands on or ends with happiness.

Like the rest of River Savage's books, but even more so, Desertion makes you feel---it tears your heart wide open, shatters it, and then slowly puts the pieces back together. This book, River Savage's most powerful gift yet, gutted me. Hands down, Desertion is River Savage's best and most brilliantly-written book that will capture your heart and soul. It's pure addiction for the biker book whore.

I never thought I would say this, but my Nix Fix has been replaced with a trip to Jesse Heaven. I'm a Jesse Junkie now--the reigning member of Club Carter or Team 'Just Jesse!' I fell in love hard for Jesse Carter--hot, sexy, sweet, dirty-talker, former military man, biker babe, and hero battling a dark past--the whole swoon-worthy package.

Jesse Carter is the blond, blue-eyed, tanned, tall, muscular, tatted, and hot alpha bad boy who could be a magazine model. The ultimate lady player, he's the playboy and boy toy of the Knight's Rebels. Smooth Operator. Dirty Talker. Dangerous. Sex on Legs. Biker Babe. Jesse is the beautiful and brash biker you want to hate because he's an arrogant arse, but you can't because he's hot, sweet, witty, and a war hero whose dark past won't let him go.

Bell Johnson is gorgeous, brown-haired, green-eyed nurse who treated Jesse as an ER nurse a couple of times, but has never forgotten the hot and swoon-worthy biker with a mouth of sexy lines and a body built for sin who makes her laugh and lights her body on fire with a mere look. She wants to hate the super sexy but bad boy biker as Jesse is trouble with a capital T. Though, like a train wreck, Bell can't step away.

"You playing hard to get makes me want to get you a whole lot more...I'm all for a game, Bell, but I gotta know what I'm playing for...That's it sweetheart, you feel it too. Be a whole lot easier if you just surrendered now."

Holy hotness! With lust-worthy lines The Jesse Player dishes out and the powerful insta-chemistry between them, Bell is having trouble walking away from the man slowly his way into her heart, head, and panties.

"Jesse Carter is dangerous. His words are his weapons, and when up against him, I'm left unarmed."

Jesse is attracted to the innocent nurse who is nothing like the bottled 'Barbie' blondes so fake that they end up being bang in bed and bolt encounters. Mr. Manwhore wants a bit of beautiful Bell who is the perfect of mix of innocent and sexy that he needs to sample. Like yesterday.

"I don't know what it is about her, but something pulls me to her, and each time I see her, it gets stronger. A simple, innocent woman has me wanting to break all my rules. Every single one of them."

Selfless and beautiful Bell is the light to Jesse's darkness. He rescued her like a Knight in shining armor, now it's her turn to nurse him back to health and make him realize that he is worthy. He matters.

"You're a good man, Jesse." 'If only he could see his self-worth. See what I see."

Jesse can't shake his shattering past that continues to grasp like a vice. He won't bring Bell down and into his messed up world and love is not a word in his vocabulary. Though Jesse is sinking into the depths of despair, darkness, and doom, he has to want that life raft that only Bell can provide.

"When you put yourself on the line and allow yourself to want something, you open yourself up to disappointments. My life is full of so much disappointment I couldn't bear to have more thrown in my face. I need to stay away from Bell Johnson. She makes me want, but it just can't happen."

Desertion is a fractured fairytale where Prince Charming is even more broken than Cinderella. This book grabbed my heart, shook it up a bit, and finally placed it back after many few tears later. Desertion is gut-wrenching, emotional, and oh-so-powerful---a must-read and memorable masterpiece.

Desertion is book 3 in the Knights Rebels series and its Jesse's story. While I loved books 1 & 2 Desertion was a big disappointment to me. I didn't like Jesse or Bell at all. Jesse while hot was nothing but a nasty jerk for most of the book and Bell while I thought kind of cute in the beginning was a complete doormat. Jesse ran so hot and cold that by the time he finally made up his mind about Bell I no longer cared I just wanted the story over. Bell was so pathetic willing to accept so little from Jesse just as long as he stayed with her. I really hope Beau's story is better since I loved Nix and Sy.

Six years ago Bell's sister, Paige, went missing, never to be found. Now, twenty-three year old Bell lives a life under her parents' constant watch. Her family never really recovered from losing Paige and they will do anything to never have to go through that pain again.

From the second Jesse saw the sexy, shy, nurse Bell, he wanted her. Using his usual charm and humor, he tries flirting with her to no result. He finally gets his chance when Bell comes and asks him for his help finding her sister. He agree's but only on one condition - he wants a date.

I was really nervous after I started this and realized the Bell was a shy, innocent virgin. I don't handle the innocent real well and heroines that seem to just be completely stupid about the real world frustrate me to the point of screaming. BUT Bell was surprisingly not one of them. I actually enjoyed her character and she wasn't annoyingly naive. River Savage did a really good job with these characters.

Jesse was dealing with a lot of past issues that he was never able to resolve and he didn't think he was good enough to be with Bell. They just couldn't stay away from each other, though! I liked reading about how Bell pushed him to see that he wasn't the monster he thought he was and even when Jesse was an ass, she was there for him.

I really liked the story and it kept me interested the whole time, but I had some issues. The whole thing that sort of started the relationship was Bell asking for help finding Paige, but then it was only kind of resolved. We heard a couple things about the club trying to find leads about her disappearance but I just felt like there should have been more of their investigation mentioned.

Overall, amazing book! I recommend this read to anyone who likes a light MC book and a sexy, troubled, Alpha.

I was really looking forward to this book and I'm sad to say that I was really disappointed in this one. I loved the first 3 books, especially the first book. I dnf'ed about 30% into this one. Belle was a push over and had no back bone and usually I love shy and quiet heroines but Belle just didn't do it for me. Oh and Don't get me started on her friends, they were annoying as hell, they were so persistent and unsympathetic, all they cared about was getting Belle laid! I was most looking forward to Jesse cause he was so lovable and funny in the previous books but he was such a douche and such a man whore, I just couldn't deal!
In my opinion the book didn't flow and it didn't grip me like the first 3 books. Such a disappointment, but I hope the author comes out with something better soon!

Another good addition to the series.
This is the story of Jesse. Jesse is an ex-marine, haunted by his experiences in Afghanistan. Guilt and regret burn his insides all the time. He is cocky, a player and hides behind a mask of indifference all the time.
When innocent and inexperienced Bell is thrown in his path, his life takes an unexpected turn. He wants her in his bed but his flirting isn't getting him anywhere until Bell realizes that he can help her locate her lost sister, Paige.
Bell's sheltered life is going to be shaken the moment Jesse agrees to help her and she will have to be strong. Jesse tries but fails to keep their relationship purely physical and when she gets too close, his inner demons will come forth, threatening their fragile relationship.

I liked the storyline. The pace was fast and I loved that we got real insight to Jesse's pain. Bell was desperate for help and I think that made her weak to Jesse's sometimes too abrupt ways. I found him very short with Bell at times and I would have liked it if she had been stronger when it came to him. She didn't deserve his cruelty most of the time, although I must admit that she too needed to change her ways.
I loved that we got glimpses of the other Rebels couples. Nix, Kadence, Sy & Holly really added to the story and made it even more entertaining.
If you are a fun of the series, then this book won't disappoint you.

5 Shining Bright Stars

I'm so happy that Jesse got help that he needed to fight his demons. Bell's awesome that she fought so hard for Jesse but how far can she take before Jesse push her away? This love story is back and forth due to the hero dealing with PTSD. The heroine never gave up and she fought her way into his heart. I love this series. I can't wait for the next book.

“I, Jesse Carter, am fucked.

“Text messages, stalking and now staring. I think I need a restraining order, Mr. Carter.” Bell looks up, catching me.”

“This is a battle; this is a war of the hearts. Call me selfish, an asshole, a fucking prick… whatever, but Bell is going to experience firsthand what it looks and feels like to have a man fight for her.”

“I was lucky enough to have found them, and I knew from watching this woman she felt the same. In her eyes, these men needed to be her saviors, and I knew they would be. Their patch is what brought them together, but their love for the club and what they do is what makes them a family.
My family.”

“This man is everything I could ask for and more.
I never imagined when I stepped into this club that it would set me on this path. I knew I was taking a chance getting involved with Jesse, but standing here now, it is without a doubt the best chance worth taking.
We saved each other, brought each other out of our pasts and now finally, we can move on.”

Wow powerful, intense, raw and real at its finest. No complaints, five star read! PTSD and abuse has a far greater reach then just to the victim. It touches everyone it comes into contact with. The lives of the husband, wives, sibling, children and friends, even then its tendrils brushes against others. The author deserves a standing ovation bring the two subjects to life, given voice to the courageous Marines the story portrayed. You can't help be drawn to Jessie and Bell; River Savage brought realism to their relationship with no quick fix answers. Which alone makes it fives star worthy! Drama oooooo yeah plenty of that with just the right amount of MC life to make you crave for more! Can't wait for the next in the series! Enjoy!
For all the men and women in the armed forces; thank you for your sacrifice, loyalty and devotion.

Peace .

I’ve finally found it. I’m no longer at the mercy of my past, at the mercy of my fears. Because of her, I found it. She gave me something I spent my whole life searching for, even if I didn’t realize I was searching for it.

She gave it to me.
Peace.

You know when an author writes books in a series and there's always that one book that you love and consider your favorite? Well, Desertion is the one for me at the moment (I say this now because hello Beau lol). River Savage will take you on an emotional journey with this one ladies and gents... so sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.

Jesse Fucking Carter. #MyBoo #MyHusband #MrsCarter #JesseJunkie. Jesse is the total package, gorgeous with a sense of humor, an ex firefighter and Marine turned biker. He's bound to sweep you off your feet with his charm and killer smile. But underneath all that hides a tortured man plagued by guilt, and nightmares, and the pain of his childhood. He's a man that wants it all, but doesn't know how to let someone in and allow himself to love. P.S. Hello, Carter Brothers *panties gone*. <--- You will see exactly what I mean ;).

Bell Johnson . #NurseBell #MySpiritAnimal. Bell is bound to capture you heart. She's reserved and shy but underneath lies this fierce and strong woman. She's been caged and hasn't truly lived after a family tragedy that happened years back. She's stuck, not knowing how to overcome her family's sorrow and move forward with her life.

Together these two are an enigma. Bell helps keep Jesse balanced, and gives his inner turmoil peace, while Jesse makes her realize that she needs to start living for herself, and stop pleasing others. Their love is wild, passionate, heartbreaking, and beautiful.

River Savage will have you falling in love with her boys and make you not want to ever let them go. There is much more to come for the Knights Rebels and it's going to be one hell of a ride.

Gimme Beau's book!!!

River Savage drowns us in gut-wrenching anguish, and heart warming hilarity as she immerses us into the lifestyle of bikers, and the women they pine for!

Jesse Carter: Firefighter, former Marine, badass biker.
This man was one cheeky bastard with his 'lame' lines, downright filthy mouth, smutty words, and happy-go-lucky attitude. But underneath all of that is a man that is being smothered in his nightmares by a past that is so haunting, he doesn't feel worthy or deserving of anyone's love.

Bell Johnson: #Mine #MyWife #BellCrush
Shy, awkwardly beautiful, reserved Nurse Bell.

This woman is everything with her innocence, authentic sincerity, curious mind, and will to please others. She is genuinely a good person, but her life has been under lock and key every since a family tragedy years ago. Stuck in the past, unable to move forward in the present, she has only one objective.

I loved watching these two characters fall in love with one another and not even realize it until it was too late; until they were in too deep to dig themselves out of each other's hearts. Their love was carefree; pulling one another out of their shells, and throwing them into a wildly intense affair. It was passionate, it was flaming and the way these two came together was hot, heavy, and erotically desirous.

I was wrapped up so tightly in the world of the Knights Rebels that I thrived on every feeling that the author invoked in me. I cried for both of these characters, for everything they went through, but mostly for the journey they took me on! It was breathtaking, and it was beautiful to watch two lost souls find their way, and find out who they were while finding each other.

We also get to witness some very big moments in the life's of the other Rebels. These moments did not overshadow Jesse and Bell 's story; it adds to it, enhancing the concept of an unstoppable brotherhood and strong sense of family value that River Savage always delivers on!

***SPOILERS. Read at your own risk.***

It was so bad, where do I start? Oh, I didn't finish it. Stopped at 90%. Couldn't. Just too much stupidity, eye-rolling and blah blah blah.

I was actually looking forward to this one. I liked Jesse and I knew there was more to him than met the eye. I also liked Bell. At first. That changed fast.

Word of advice, Bell, dear. You never ever settle for the least a man can give you. I don't care how good the sex is, or what. You just don't. You gotta keep your standards high, girlfriend. But I guess you were too weak for that.

No, seriously, Bell has to be one of the dumbest out there. And I'm not talking about her background or family. I'm talking about her. The guy tells you he can't give you more than sex; oh, that's okay, you love him, so it doesn't matter. He treats you like crap - hurting or not, that is no excuse - and oh, again, that's okay, you love him.

I swear, when did this become the 'it' in books and literature? And I'm not only talking about Bell here. Sometimes, some male characters deserve better than the heroine they get. Anyway, I am slightly off-course.

This book could have been good. Really good. Unfortunately, it's not. The amount of times I rolled my eyes, shook my head or wanted to bang my head into the desk... Yet I kept on reading it. Why? Beats me. Maybe I was hoping for something, I guess. A miracle that didn't happen. All this back-and-forth between them for almost the entire book got so old.

It's safe to say I won't be reading any more of these books. I really liked the first, the second was okay but this one's bad.

1.5 stars.

Awesome Read!!!

Full Review Here...

Never judge a book by it's cover...
Jesse was all smoke and mirrors you need to dig deep,
real deep to See the Real man, which is something Bell managed to do.
He's always gone above and beyond for his club, his brothers and their women.
Jesse continuously showed his loyalty and friendship by never backing down and has laid his life down for those he loves. But if you actually took the time to see Jesse actually look at the man you'd realize
he was broken, shattered really.. so damaged he wouldn't allow anyone to reciprocate. Not his brothers, not his family and friends and especially not Bell.

4.5 stars! *****

I was looking forward to Jesse's story since I've read Incandescent. I loved his story. Sometimes he deserved a good smack up his head but it was a lovely story that kept me awake into the early hours.

Nurse Bell is shy and hardworking girl. One would think that her life is pretty much perfect, but it isn't. Not even close. Her sister Paige disappeared six years ago and police still haven't found her. Her parents changed. Became shells of their former selves and are way to protective of her and her younger sister.

Since she already helped the Knight Rebels before and knows they try to help those who need it, she decides to ask them to find Paige for her.

Jesse has always felt the pull toward a cute nurse Bell and when she asks him for help he agrees under one condition. He'll help her if she goes out on a date with him.

And so she goes. And they start to text and call each other and before they know it they are wraped up in each other. But when Jesse's demon comes up to play the depth of their feelings might not be enough.

Desertion is the best book in series so far for me.

After a while it's book where the main female character isn't bullheaded, stubborn and overly strong. Bell is strong, don't get me wrong but she doesn't emit this "I'm so self-sufficient" vibe.

She went through a huge character development. In the beginning she was shy and soft spoken and did what she thought her parent would want to and mainly what she thought Paige would do if she was still with them. In the end she was still a little shy but she coulf stand up for herself, spoke for herself and did what she wanted to do.

Jesse also went through a character development. Not as big as Bell though. I'm not sure if he suffered with PTSD or it was something else but he wasn't able to deal with things. With his past, his father, his time as a soldier or his feelings to Bell. He learnt to talk to people who loves him and actually accept their love and their help. He also allowed himself to love back.

Those two were great together. They had this mindblowing chemistry and watching how their story unfold was a time greatly spent.

In the end was a little note that made me really reaaally happy. We'll get Paige's story. When we got only a little information about her I was angry. Even though she wasn't actually there, she was a big part of the book and there was not enough info about her in the end. I though that the part at the end about her was cut short too abruptly, so maybe that's why.

All in all, DESERTION just earned place in my "fav" shelf and for a good reason.

Jesse Carter is the ultimate manwhore and ladies' man of the Knights Rebels MC. He’s cocky, confident, a former Marine, and knows how to work it in the bedroom.

But there’s one girl who isn’t falling for his charms and in his bed—Isabella “Bell” Johnson a.k.a Nurse Bell”. Remember her? Yep, she’s the one about to bring our dirty-talking Cassanova to his knees! Teehee!

Jesse Teaser #3

Desertion is a tale of love, loss, forgiveness, acceptance, and hope.

Much like its predecessors, it involves all of the previous characters from the KR MC series and drives home the holds of brotherhood, family, and loyalty.

I really loved the unconditional support each character gave one another, particularly of their comrade Jesse and his new lady love, Bell.

Jesse and Bell’s romance is not an easy one as Jesse is still fighting demons of his military past

Desertion Teaser 01

...And Bell is still living in the shadow of what had happened to her sister six years ago.

Both characters constantly battle through obscurities, their growing affections for each other, and the struggle to find and stop hiding from themselves.

But what links them together is their unconventional understanding of each other’s vulnerability and utter brokenness.

Jesse Teaser #1

Can they find peace amongst each other’s storm? Is Bell Jesse’s true game changer amongst the darkness and bring him out of his shell? And can Bell break out of her family’s hold and forge a future for her own?

Is there badge out there for a Jesse fan girl?! If so, I think I really want to join his club as a groupie! In fact, I'd wear his badge proudly, despite Jesse’s flaws and all!

Can’t wait for more from this series!! Hopefully with Paige’s or Beau’s stories up next!!

“You spend your whole life in this darkness, Jesse, you’ll never know how much light there is around you.”

Isabella, "Bell" Johnson is a 23 year old nurse living in the shadow of her missing sister. Bell's sister, Paige, has been missing for 6 years and the guilt weighing down on Bell prevents her from living her life to the fullest. Her parents keep a tight rein on her even at 23. She has a curfew and abides by all of their rules.

I hate that this is what it comes to when we talk about my family, or bring up Paige. I hate that I can't live a normal life like them, but I can't change the past. I can't move on. I'm stuck. Stuck in a nightmare of what my life has become.

Jesse Carter is the sexy jokester of the Knights Rebels MC. He is also living with the guilt of the past. Having served in Kandahar, he watched some of his men die and kept some alive, which weighs heavily on him. He doesn't feel like he deserves happiness. He sleeps around with different women and takes his life as one big joke.

Jesse and Bell know each other from the hospital. He doesn't understand why he is drawn to her but he is. Her innocence turns him on. He makes plays at her, constantly.

"Come on, Nurse Bell, you know me. Hell you saw my ass last time."-Jesse

"You've seen him naked?" -Lissy

"Umm, well not technically,"-Bell

"What does 'not technically' mean?"-Manda

"I think she means, when she saw my naked ass, she closed those big, green eyes of hers and refused to look."-Jesse

"Oh, my God why the hell would you close your eyes, Bell?"-Lissy

"Yes, much to my disappointment, Nurse Bell doesn't appreciate a fine ass when one is staring her in the face,"-Jesse

Jesse is a total player and has plenty of lines. The banter between him and Bell is hilarious. I won't go into the plot too much, but the two are determined to break down each others walls. Bell wants to see the "real" Jesse and Jesse just wants Bell to live her own life without Paige hanging over her.

The sex is smoking hot. Jesse is a true alpha male. Of course, we have plenty of angst and tension thrown in there and some touchy situations. There's a death, PTSD, kidnapped sister, virginity and plenty of drama within the club. I love how River Savage writes about real problems affecting everyday people. The writing in this book is phenomenal! It is a long road to healing but it does eventually happen for the two.

We get plenty of the Knights Rebel MC gang. Nix, Kadence, Sy, Holly, etc. The talk amongst the guys is great! And I loved how the girls accepted Bell with open arms. I cannot wait for Paige, Beau and Hunter's books!

Their patch is what brought them together, but their love for the club and what they do is what makes them a family. My family.

River Savage gives us RAW, gives us GRIT, gives us DEPTH in this newest installment of the Knights Rebels MC series. I've been hooked and emotionally invested in these characters for a while now. Diving deep into Jesse and Bell's emotional love story just solidified that fact. Dealing with issues of PTSD, abuse, and heavy loss with these beautifully broken characters pulled emotions out of me that I didn't think was possible.

When you are so in love with a series, it's hard to call out a favorite, but after taking this beautiful and emotional journey with Jesse and Bell, I can easily say, DESERTION is Savage's best work yet! Their story pulled something out of me. It reached in deep, tugging on my heart, squeezing my chest, and pulling out this sense of hope that brought a huge smile to my face.

This was incredibly well written, emotionally driven, and extremely passionate, intense, and sexy as sin! Savage can do no wrong in this genre!

*3.5 Stars*
This one is a hard one for me to rate. On the one hand I really loved Bell, she was amazing and just stole the whole show for me. On the other hand the rest of the story was just okay for me, and the end was abrupt and unsatisfying. But I did like Bell and even Jesse, but mostly because he had the good sense to fall in love with Bell, so I'm going to give this one 3.5 stars.
