Tom has been planning for months, but in those plans he never once found himself on a spa table in Bangkok on his and Santino’s one year anniversary. He doesn’t do aeroplanes, doesn’t like the tropical climate, and he does not do spas.

Yet there he is, without a stitch of clothing, and with a man he’s never met before. He’ll do his best to enjoy his day and then he’ll give Santino the best anniversary imaginable, even if it means he has to be covered in chopped-up veggies for an entire day…

…if only it were veggies.

*I received a copy of this book from the author via Don't Buy my Love in exchange for an honest review.

This was fun to read. It was 32 pages and it was enough. I was satisfied in what I read. In my opinion not many author can successfully write a short. It focus on humor with a bit romance. This book highlight exactly what I fear a spa day would entailed. This short mainly focus on Tom and what he is willing go through for his love for Santo. I highly recommend all of this author's short including this one.

4.5 Heart Review by Paul

A short story the way that short stories are supposed to be. I loved this, because in her own way the author connected me to the main character. The whole story is told from Tom’s point of view, and we really get into his mind. He tells us about his love for his younger lover, his doubts about that age-difference and his annoyance for public display of affection. Santino is his lover for a year, but due to a work-commitment, the day that Tom had planned was ruined. To make up for the one-year celebration Santino organizes a relaxing trip to Bangkok. But of course, everything that could go wrong on a short get-away like that goes wrong. A horrid plane-ride, lost baggage, hotel reservations that are lost. Even though Tom hates everything Santino had arranged, he loves Santino for taking the trouble doing so. And during a lovely day at the Spa, he feels that he needs to work hard to keep up with his lovers pace in life. In this story there’s a lot of humor and it made the story light, yet enjoyable. And although the author herself marked the story “no sex” , I never noticed the lack of it, as there are enough tender scenes and even a try to become members of the ‘mile high-club’ . I enjoyed this summer read very much and as a short story should it gives you a happy ending.

I was given this book free by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

I loved this short book. It takes place around the MCs 1st anniversary. We have Tom preparing to ask his boyfriend to marry him, when he comes home with a promotion and has to go to Thailand. Although he is scared of flying Tom is persuaded to go with him.
From there on, the book is funny. The mix up at the hotel, Toms trip to the spa and then the lovely proposal at the end.
I think there could be so much more with these two and would like a full length novel.
If there had been on the page sex, this would have been a five star read for me.

Darum geht's:

Meine Meinung dazu gibt’s hier

This was a very sweet and lovely story.

It was so hard to see poor Tom and all he had to go through those few days. I liked how much he was willing to sacrifice and how he manage to endure everything for love. It had a nice humorous tone that I loved. The writing was good and it had a nice plot. I didn’t mind the length, sure it was short, but the story was told without feeling something was missing.

Both main characters were likable, I guess I liked Tom the most, maybe because it was his point of view, but they were both nice. It was easy to feel how much the Santino and Tom felt for each other.

Even though I mention I didn’t care that it was so short, I’m loving this author’s writing very much and I would love to see a longer book from her.

Overall I think it was a cute, story and I would definitely recommend it to any reader who loves romance, it was so fun and sweet.

Tom has been planning a big anniversary surprise for his lover Santino for months. He has booked them time away at a romantic hotel suite and he intends to propose on their anniversary.

But the path of true love never does run smooth and Santino has to take a work trip to Thailand when their anniversary would fall.

Tom doesn't like planes, doesn't like flying and he wilts like a flower in tropical heat. But he can't turn down Santino's invitation to accompany him on the business trip, even if it means doing things he'd rather not do.

Things go from bad to worse for our luckless lovers. Tom's bag goes missing, the bag with the engagement ring in it and then their reservation is lost and they have to put up with a single room at the hotel. Santino has booked a full day at a spa for Tom while he's off working, and Tom agrees, if only to keep his lover happy. He soon wishes he stayed at the hotel.

This was a fun, light-hearted read. It's told from Tom's point of view, so we only get to see Santino through Tom's eyes and it is pretty obvious from the start that Tom is madly in love with him and will do anything for him. Even if it means enduring some rather unorthodox spa treatments. I was squirming along with Tom at some of them, especially the fish pedicure. I have a phobia about fish, but it didn't panic me too much as it wasn't my feet in the tank, thank goodness.

A very enjoyable, romantic story.

Another absolute favorite, this story is sweet and the day so imperfect that it’s perfect. Tom has so many plans for his and Santino’s one year anniversary and all of it was ruined when Santino has to fly off to Thailand right after he gets a promotion. Since Tom absolutely does not fly, they won’t even be together for their anniversary and he just had everything so perfect. You want to hug him and tell him everything will be okay. Except love conquers all, including fear of flying, right? So off to Thailand they go, with all those lovely, romantic plans turned to ash.
Despite the hatred of flying, on the plane Tom goes and proves just how much he loves his Santino. The mantra through this story is – he loves his Santino and it shows. When Tom gets nervous, when he’s frustrated, when he does what it takes to make his man happy, the love shows. There are mishaps throughout, lost luggage, a non-hotel room, the works. Santino gets him a spa day to relax and seriously, it is epic to read and I laughed for poor Tom. The spa day from hell and he does it to make his guy happy. And Pejazzle too. Romantic and oh so awesome.

Poor Tom; all he wanted was to propose to his boyfriend on their anniversary and instead he finds himself halfway around the world suffering indignities no grown man of his age should suffer. *snicker* I spent pretty much the entire story feeling sorry for Tom. I mean, just nothing is going right for this man and he's still trying to get through it anyway. I totally laughed during the spa portion, however. His reactions were priceless and I still, even while laughing, felt for the guy. With such a short story it was hard for me to really feel any kind of connection between the main characters but it was obvious that Tom had strong feelings for Santo because there's no way he would've endured if he hadn't. It was enjoyable and good for a laugh but I'm not sure I'll read it again anytime in the near future.

First story I read in 2016. =) Santino was adorable. Tom was freakin' too "cute" for words as he tried to make his man happy. <3 <3 Cute. Funny. Loved it.

Tom and Santino are a established could about to celebrate their one year anniversary. When Santino comes home with news of a promotion and business trip to Thailand on their anniversary, Santino convinces a reluctant Tom to go with him. Unknown to Santino was that Tom had planned out their anniversary before hand and really didn't see not going with Santino as a choice. Already hating Thailand for messing up his proposal plans and losing his luggage, poor Tom, arrives at the hotel with Santino only to find their reservation can't be found at the hotel. Needless to say the spa treatment Tom has to endure is also a horrifying one.

It was a fun read. Tom's a pretty cool character and his love for Santino is easy to see. I did feel bad for everything he had to endure inconsideration for his boyfriend. I don't think I really liked Santino but I didn't feel I really got to know him that well in this short read so I really shouldn't be making that call. I did laugh during the spa moment and when Tom was doubting himself I did for sad for him because his self esteem was taking a hit.

I really felt like Tom was more invested in this relationship than his boyfriend was. Tom was the only one we saw giving in this relationship whereas Santino was just taking and taking.

Santino and Tom are on their way to celebrating their one-year anniversary, but when nothing goes according to plan on the day, leading to a comedy of errors.

This is a light-hearted, sweet and funny story about how things go wrong on the day you want everything to go perfectly. The story is nice and well-written.

Tom and Santino are a case of "opposites attract". There personalities are like yin and yang but they really love each other.

Santino has a flamboyant personality. He is the guy who can’t sit still because he is so full of energy. While Tom is in his early-forties and has a steadying effect on his much younger partner. He is the gruff, older man with a rough exterior but a soft centre.

This story was really nice and wonderful, seeing Tom struggling to make the day special for Santino, giving into his demands for the anniversary just to make him happy on their anniversary is quite wonderful.

I would have liked to know more about how these two come to be together and a little bit more about their backgrounds. Also this story is completely from Tom's perspective, and I would have loved to see a bit of it from Santino's perspective.

All in all I liked the story and the characters, and it was the perfect light read.

I received this story, for a honest review.

I had a dalama how many stars to give because I enjoyed the first half of the story, but I honestly did not think it fun about the spa treatment. I just wanted to smack Tom, and Sar was just down right childish. The story was excellent written, it did bring out emotions. I guess if you have dry sense of humor you would find it funny, it's not the story's felt I am left angry. So I gave it a 4 star, because I did not fine it funny,

Tom and Santino's Story . . .

All of Tom’s perfect plans for their one-year anniversary were dashed! Tom had spent months planning this anniversary celebration and the ring was perfect! Then it occurred to him that Santino had been happy about something… his missed what it was. All he heard was that he was going away to Thailand on their anniversary. He asked why he was going there… ah, he had gotten promoted! So whether he liked it or not, even though he was afraid of flying, Tom would board that plane and go with him.

The rest of the story tracks the horrendous mix ups that Tom experiences. An issue with the hotel, a spa experience, and anything else he tried to do went wrong. All he wanted was to propose to Santino. Was nothing going to turn out right?

I received this book free from an offer.

A fun short MM romance of the kind that Gränd does well. It was pretty cool to see the two leads playing off and against each other and the romance felt genuine and heartfelt. I just found Santino a bit hard to cope with as he was soooo stereotypically gay, exuberant and emotional but I guess there has to be some substance for every stereotype.

The thing I found hard to swallow (sorry!) was the final treatment. I went to a party years and years ago (2008?) and *checks wallet* yep, still have glitter embedded in it more than a decade later. I really cannot think of anything less sexy and uncomfortable than that! Well it was great to see Tom make those sacrifices and the two have their HEA.

This story is built around the rather sweet sentiment that love will make you endure a lot of crazy things-- and Tom does-- all for his boyfriend Santino, who I found, if I'm honest, a bit unlikeable. He's meant, I think, to be charming, but his actions are often selfish at worst or just absent minded at best, and honestly, the sheer number of disasters, large and small, that befell Tom because of him was more exhausting for me than endearing. That said, I think a less cynical reader will be charmed by the story, which has an HEA, if not exactly the way our poor protagonist planned it.

This is such a sweet hilarious short story about the things we do for love. Poor Tom wants to celebrate his and Santino's anniversary by proposing to his boyfriend. He has plans and plans, all exactingly prepared, but a promotion for Santino at work has them jetting to Thailand, even though Tom hates flying and tropical climates. Tom soldiers on while he watches all his plans crumble and a number of humorous (for the reader), embarassing (for Tom), and unforgettable (NOT in the good way) happen. Will Tom get to propose and enjoy his anniversary? This sweet, quirky tale is a fun, quick read.

🗺Tom's bumpy ride: what he'll do for love😕🐌

🛫 What a cute short story of the slings and arrows a person will accept in the pursuit of a happy ending. Tom SO wants to sweep his lover off his feet. To do that, he has to survive the trip that just won't stop giving him justification for never leaving home again!

This is the type of writing that I think Ofelia Grand excells at, with humor, whimsy and sweetness (and a touch of heat).

I really nice read with an ending not unexpected but satisfying nevertheless.

Tom just wanted to propose to Santino on their anniversary. When Santino gets a promotion that means he has to take a trip to Thailand during their anniversary although he does not want to go, he goes. Whatever can go wrong does and that makes planning to celebrate their anniversary and getting to propose gets complicated but most importantly they realize that their love and connection is bigger than foiled plans and they are so sweet to one another and focus on what is important - their love.

O! M! G! Poor Tom...poor, poor Tom. Things just did not go his way even once. Every plan just went awry. The spa of horrors that he endured for his Santino made me adore him. There are quite a few moments that made me laugh out loud and a few that brought on the second-hand embarrassment. The little surprise at the end of the book made me giggle so hard; especially knowing that there was no way Santino would keep that to himself.

Grin & bear it! Santino was excited he gotpromoted and was going on a business trip to Thailand. Tom was plane averse and didn't want to go. Tom planned a surprise for their anniversary. Santino, poured on the cute and got his way, as Tom knew he would. I don't think I ever disliked a character as much as I do Santino or felt as sorry for a man as I do Tom. I liked Dazzle Me by Ofelia Gränd. I liked Santino and Tommy, who Santino affectionately calls Tommy-boy. I liked that there is an eleven-year age gap and how Tommy is a bit of a grump compared to how vibrant Santino is. I felt so bad for Tommy and all of the things he went through to be with his boyfriend on their first anniversary. Although I did laugh when I realized how the book got the name Dazzle Me.

An adorably short read. Tom and Santino are an established couple and have an anniversary coming. Tom tries to make plans. Just like anyone else, plans don't always go accordingly. None of that matters when all you want to do is spend this special day with the one you love.

Complete- one and done read. Full of laughs and leaves you thinking about your own gaffes.

One thing that I love about this author is that even though the story is short she is able to tell a full story. The two MCs Tom and Santino are going to Thailand to celebrate their anniversary and Santinos Promotion. It leads to a fun adventure and hilarious spa day. Definitely recommend this book.

Another very well done short story from author Ofelia Gränd.
In the limited amount of pages we get two interesting men who somehow complete each other despite their differences in age and character, some really funny moments (loved the spa treatments) as well as romantic ones.
Would have loved to get more of these two, but for a short story it felt well rounded.
