We found our enemy. Now we just have to kill them.
Easy enough, right?
For the first time ever, all four of my dragon mates and I are on the same page. Despite that, nothing feels easy.
Enemies are encroaching from all sides, desperate to destroy what little peace we’ve managed to create while I am doing my best to keep the health of the horde intact and dealing with four mates who have the weight of the world on their shoulders.
Can we find our peace? Or will the fragile happiness I’ve found be shattered beyond repair?
The Dragons' Eternal Mate is the third and final book in the Dragons of North Oak Series.
I absolutely had tears in my eyes as I finished this series. It was so good. Emotional, full of suspense, healing, and all the found family vibes. The growth all of these characters go through had my heart warming in the best of ways. Dragon shifters with omegaverse vibes, this why choose series had me so invested the whole way through. I loved every minute of it.
So incredibly boring. They're going to war, or moping around not doing anything except their mate.
This 'series' could have made a decent book but was blatently dragged out into three parts.
The big strong dragons are useless. Characters appear and disappear. Rowan basically runs everything, even when not doing anything
I'm still really thrown that the weathered old man Cyrus is in his 40s. Dragon's live into their 100s and Alphas never retire. He's a mega competitive leader type; currently in his 40s who lead for decades, but retired 6yrs ago. The 'old men' that resist are his contemporaries. This means there's noone in the horde older than 50. One I'm officially ancient. My knees may creak after kneeling down but I don't need a carer yet! Two this just doesn't compute, what's happened to everyone else?
The more it dragged on the more the weakness bothered me. Nothing revealed has any impact on the characters. A threatened war should be serious but never felt dangerous or urgent. Still time to decorate your office..
Cute little series. Perfect for when you don't know what to read and you don't feel like reading something too deep, too long.
I was sure the quack doctor was in fact a good guy in disguise, making sure no one was doing well so that the bad guy could take advantage. That would have been a nice plot twist.
Once again, we find Rowan in trouble. And once again, she runs away. And yet again, her alphas have to track her down. 😂 At least this time, she had a pretty decent reason for leaving, so I’ll give her that!
Of the three books in the trilogy, this one was probably my least favorite. Throughout the series, I kept waiting for Rowan to develop a stronger emotional connection with her alphas, but unfortunately, I never quite felt it. She tells us she loves them, but the emotional attachment felt a little forced to me. Rowan spends so much of the story resisting them that by the time she finally gives in, there just isn’t enough time for those feelings to really develop naturally.
I’m not sure I’m explaining this well, so just pretend that whole paragraph made perfect sense. 😂 Basically, there was a disconnect between how Rowan seemed to feel and act toward her alphas versus how deeply they felt about her, and I never completely bought into their emotional bond.
That said, I didn’t dislike the book! There was plenty of substance to the plot, and Melissa Huxley wrapped up the overall story really well. This one was definitely spicier than the first two books, but thankfully, it felt like a natural progression of the story rather than spice thrown in just for shock value. 🔥
I also really liked how Griffin’s story was set up, and I will definitely be reading his book!
Overall, this wasn’t my favorite of the trilogy, but I still enjoyed the world Huxley created and the characters she brought to life. I honestly think this story might have worked better as a duet rather than a trilogy, but I’m still glad I got to spend more time in this world.
Melissa Huxley is a great author, and I’ll definitely be picking up more of her books! 🐉❤️
✨Thank you to Melissa Huxley and her team for the ARC to read and review! All thoughts and opinions are my own. 3.5⭐️ rounded up HEA? yes 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
This is the third and final book in The Dragons of North Oak trilogy. Overall, I enjoyed the series. I love dragon shifters and why choose genres. This book had an element of suspense to it as well.
Overall I think it lacked a little bit of the tension that helps propel you through three books. I found the overall pacing to be best in the first and second books, where this one didn’t quite hit that mark for me. This is overall just my own perception, and could definitely be influenced by mood.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you!
➕ - A satisfying conclusion to the Dragons of North Oak trilogy (MFMMM shifter romance). - A good balance of plot, action and spice. - We finally have the full truth of what happened all those years ago. - I like that Rowan was able to save herself for once.
➖ - Overall a decent paranormal romance but it underperformed for me given how much I loved the premise. - The ending was sweet but it cut off at a weird place.
This is the 3rd book in this series and I enjoyed them all so much. So much resolution with her men and the dragons. Connecting her past to her present.
All I have to say is that good won over evil in such amazing ways.
I am sad to see this series end but I loved all the books and how Rowan got to be so happy in the end.
You know what? I really, really loved this saga, it was a pleasant surprise after DFNing so many books before this one, I'll take it as a win... Kudos to the author for writing a really good book! Sorry, saga!!!
5 out of 5 stars **This series just keeps getting better 🐉❤️**
**Tropes:** fated mates, dragon shifters, slow burn tension, secrets, mystery, emotional healing, found family vibes, and ALL the dragon drama 🐉
Okayyyy after being invested in this series for three books, *The Dragons' Eternal Mate* did NOT disappoint. I was already attached to this world and these characters, and this book pulled me right back in like I had never left.
One of my favorite things about this series continues to be the characters. I love how much emotion is mixed in with all the paranormal craziness. The relationships have so many layers, and I really enjoyed watching everything develop throughout this book. There was tension, vulnerability, trust being built, and plenty of moments that had me completely invested in what was happening.
And of course, I was here for the romance. The slow burn and emotional tension were SO good. I love when you can feel the connection between characters building instead of everything happening instantly, and this definitely gave me that. There were so many moments where I was basically sitting there waiting for them to finally figure things out 😭
I also really enjoyed the secrets and mystery surrounding everything. Since this is book three, there are already so many pieces in play, and I loved getting more answers while still having enough drama and surprises to keep me turning pages. The romance is a huge part of why I love these books, but the bigger story happening around the characters makes the series even more addictive.
Honestly, if you've made it this far into *The Dragons of North Oak* series, you're probably already just as invested as I am. 😂 This was such a fun continuation with dragon shifters, fated mate goodness, emotional moments, mystery, and plenty of tension.
Overall, I absolutely loved it. Three books in and I'm still completely invested in this world and these characters. I can't wait for a spin off series! Now I'm just sitting here wanting MORE because apparently I can never have enough dragon shifter drama. 🐉😂
This author could lose details in a hermetically sealed box
This series is a disappointment because it's potential is completely wasted due to the author's inability to keep track of any detail. Any at all.
We start book one with an absolute badass of self reliant strength and intelligence for an FMC. Rowan may not remember her past but she's managed to learn a complex skill, do at least part of a medical degree program, and establish herself as a highly skilled and sought after professional, all within 6 years and while healing from a life threatening injury. By book 3 she's such a wuss that she has an existential crisis after saving herself from an established murderer. She loses all recognizable focus on the clinic by falling into dick drunk idiocy in exchange for the tweedle quad fixing her problems.
The guys spend the entirety of book one vying HARD to be the most useless and moronic male characters that have ever been written as MMCs. By the end of book one Grey was barely eeking a win, Nix was the most childish fool possible and the other two needed to get bent. By the end of book 3 they at least decided to save Ro from her own developing incompetence, but mostly because they wanted to get laid. Often. In the worst possible times and places.
The author managed to drop dozens of seemingly important plot threads like cracker crumbs at a picnic. What was the point of Jenkins and his embezzlement scheme? What happened to all that money? How is Cyrus both "in his forties" and old to the point of decrepit? Why would Cyrus give up his powerful role as alpha IN HIS THIRTIES, to the son and alpha clan he didn't respect or agree with? How did Cyrus "lead the horde for decades" when he handed it over a short 19 years after obtaining the position? What was the point of the Nina stranger danger email drama? Why did anyone think Rowan was injured on the west coast when she was dumped in the south west desert? Why would "purists" think dragons are superior to humans but human medicine is the best?
Just a million different questions about a story that had such an excellent core.
SERIES Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Stars) — A gem of a paranormal dragon shifter Reverse Harem with distinct mates, great banter, and a perfectly executed amnesia trope! 🐉✨
Melissa Huxley was a new author for me. I was looking for a paranormal shifter RH (Reverse Harem) to sink into, and boy did I find a gem!
The Setup & Characters: 👥 This series, told in multiple POVs, follows Rowan, our FMC, who is a traveling healer for dragon shifter hordes, and her four alpha dragon mates: Bastian, Orsen, Nix, and Greylen. • Rowan: After a traumatic accident six years ago, Rowan doesn't have any memories of her past life. She trained under the healer who saved her and became a healer herself, traveling to different hordes and offering her short-term services. • The Alphas: Her best friend, Griffin, asks her to come to the North Oak Horde lands to help a sick child. Bastian, Orsen, Nix, and Greylen are the alpha clan leaders of North Oak. The pack has been struggling for the last few years under their leadership because, six years ago, the alphas' mate died. • (I am sure you can see exactly where this is going!! 😉)
What Worked: ✅ • Distinct Personalities: This was honestly a great series. I really loved that all of her mates were individuals and not just copy-and-paste versions of each other. She had a unique relationship with each of them, and that's not easy for a lot of RH authors to pull off successfully! 🫶 • The Banter: The banter and dialogue were also really well done. The author had me cracking up quite a few times, but was also able to show true, raw emotions when needed. 😂❤️🩹 • The Pacing: The overall story was great. While the core tropes weren't wildly unique, the execution felt fresh and different enough that I didn't feel like I was reading just another retelling of a tired story.
Final Thoughts: 💭 All in all, I had a lot of fun with this one! I will definitely be looking into some more of Melissa Huxley's work. 📚🏃♀️💨
Rowan is one tough chick! She has staying power in many ways. Bastian, Nix, Grey and Orsen are her mates, together the five are alphas of their horde. Rowan’s best mate Griffin was a top guy, I’m glad he finished on top too.
Two very important moments … I was a little disappointed, I felt they should have been more. More depth, more anticipation, more worry and more intense overall.
Any evil horrible dragon that caused many people pain and heartbreak, did more horrid things and cemented his nastiness.
Excerpts from The Dragons’ Eternal Mate written by Melissa Huxley:
“We all know that fated mates supersede horde politics,”
“Pull your cock out. Get our mate on her hands and knees. She needs to be knotted. That pretty, aching pussy needs a knot. Now.”
Without another word, I sprinted off, heading for the kitchen to distract myself from the fact that the only thing I was thinking about swallowing was Bastian’s dragon dick. Gutter! Your head is so in the gutter!
“Bastian, your worth has nothing to do with what you can do for us. Me and the guys we care about you because you’re you. It was never the fact you were the Alpha’s son that made me love you. Don’t you know that?”
“When you open up, when you let me see you, how could I not love you? You really don’t have a clear picture of yourself, do you?”
“And I’m pretty sure if you even tried to leave, for some stupid reason, the moment you shifted into dragon form, you’d be right back here, your dragon at my feet, being a good boy who loves me so much.”
Every one of them was looking at me like I hung the moon…. Also like they desperately wanted to fuck me like the animals they were. Well, okay, then.
“Fuck me, that’s better than any porn I’ve ever seen.”
The sound of our mate begging for a knot was hard to resist. Impossible, in fact.
I’d just bathed in the blood of the man who’d tried to destroy my horde, and I fucking needed Rowan like I needed oxygen.
I absolutely loved it! I am so here for the spice and I was screaming when Rowan (FMC) and Bastian (MMC) FINALLY gave into one another! I loved Nix’s (MMC) golden retriever energy and humor, Greylen’s (MMC) protectiveness, and Orsen’s (MMC) possessiveness! AHH I can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed it! It was such a nice way to end the trilogy. 1,000/10 recommend!
I really liked the change in Bastian. He does a complete 180, and his actions speak louder than words. It was just the right amount of groveling, making Rowan priority number 1, and allowing Rowan to see more of who he is as a person. He opens up, and he listens to Rowan. I loved it.
They all come together and work as a clan. They not only love one another, but trust one another. As Rowan mentioned in the book, the aspect of trust means more than love. I really enjoyed seeing the characters finally have their chances at happiness and having the ability to relax more often than not.
I wish there were more to their stories. I really loved seeing Rowan grow, not only as a healer, but as someone who trusted in herself. Her journey was a hard one, however, she never let it stop her. The guys came to life with Rowan back in their lives. I loved seeing their changes and how it affected their horde.

Rowan's story comes full circle in a satisfying conclusion packed with character growth, lovable dragons, fated mates, and a happily-ever-after worth the wait.
I have to admit, Bastian had some serious work to do after the first two books, but somehow he managed to turn me around completely. Seeing him let his guard down, grow as a character, and show a side of himself we had not really gotten before made me understand him so much more.
Orsen also gets his moment to shine in this one, especially as we learn more about his family and where he comes from. Watching him fully embrace his alpha side was definitely a highlight. And Nix? Still Nix. Still the sweetest, most lovable golden retriever dragon who somehow manages to steal every scene he is in.
The relationship between Bastian, Orsen, Grey, and Nix was everything I wanted from this final installment. Their connection felt earned, and I loved watching them settle into their roles as fated mates. The dynamic between all four of them worked so well.
Bastian's redemption, Orsen's alpha glow-up, Grey's sweet nature, and Nix's golden retriever energy make these four fated mates impossible not to fall for.
After following Rowan's journey through the series, getting to see everything come together in this final book was incredibly satisfying. There were plenty of moments that made me smile, characters I grew even more attached to, and a conclusion that left me feeling genuinely happy with where everyone ended up. I am definitely not ready to say goodbye to this world or these dragons.
What an incredible ending to this series, i really don't want to say goodbye to Rowan and her guys but I can't wait to see who's next in this world!!!
The Dragon's eternal mate picks up as The Dragon's Healing Mate concludes. Rowan runs and takes off to the closest place she feels safe and comfortable. Meanwhile, back on pack lands, her mates are confused as to what is happening until they realise who the real enemy is and they go after Rowan.
This had me in all my feels and I was crying a lot, so thank you Melissa for that. I really liked that Bastian finally stopped being a jerk and became a devoted and loyal mate to Rowan. Rowan, her guys and their clan become a true horde and defeat the enemy and the ones helping him. Orsen and Bastian they have more in common than a mate and clan mates. Grey and Nix are literally amazing and i just love them all and truly sad to say goodbye.
It would be amazing if Griffin and Nina got their own stories, because they are freakin awesome besties to Rowan.
Such a beautiful series, be prepared to laugh, cry and everything in between.
Thank you Melissa and your beautiful team for the opportunity to read this story. I am forever grateful 🙏
If you're reading this book you have hopefully read the first two, you have gone through the cliffhanger and if your like me you kinda screamed "NO" at the last cliffhanger?!
Luckily this book starts exactly where book two ended and yes the start of chapter one had me talking out loud to Rowan asking her to please just turn around and tell them! Was I screaming for joy when chapter two starts and my fear didn't come true well yes...
What an amazing journey this book series has been and the last book of the series is just as amazing and well written as the other two.
We get more spice in this book, we finally get to see Bastian being over protective and he was my absolute favourite in this book shockingly after two books the man actually has the biggest heart and it was amazing to read his character growth.
We get revenge and an amazing happily ever after. I can't wait to see what happens in Future books in this world hopefully we don't have to wait to long.
Like always if you love this 3 books I highly recommend reading any of Melissa Huxley's omegaverse books you will not be disappointed and they usually put a smile on my face and is huge reason why I started reading omegaverse books.
This series has definitely had its highs and lows. I definitely did not like all of it but I still needed to know how it ended. I'm glad this group got their happy ending even if it took a lot of work.
This book brings the conclusions with the previous Alpha, the quack doctor, and the neighbors clan that wanted their daughter back. First off I freaking loved the justice on the doctor. It was a very fitting ending to his story.
I definitely enjoyed seeing Bastian finally finding his place with Rowan. He definitely has a lot to make up for and I'm glad Rowan made him earn his place.
I did feel like the spice didn't always make sense. Your mate is completely exhausted and you wanna force her to stay awake so you can get some...that felt selfish. Now when she initiated that was her choice and needs. The entire marking sequence was very hot though.
I really wish the epilogue had continued on for a bit. I would have really liked to have gotten her mates reactions after her talk with Griffin.
Overall it is a good series that struggles some in pacing. There is a lot going on and some of it ends up feeling unnecessary to the overall story. It is however, an easy and enjoyable read.
This really felt like a let down after the first book. I wasn't too impressed with the second book in the trilogy but I thought this last book would make up for it. Unfortunately, it seems like this entire trilogy wasn't meant to be three books. It just felt too drawn out for what the overarching plot ended up being.
I liked the characters for what they were. The FMC, Rowan, was far more fleshed out than the MMCs. The MMCs really just seemed to bleed together. The more they got settled in the relationship with Rowan, the less they felt like individuals. I'm not going to spoil any major plot points, but this just didn't have the finish that the first book deserved. This third book in particular felt too long with a really slow pace. That pacing is mostly due to the uptick in sex scenes to be honest. Overall, it was fine, just not what I was hoping for after falling in love with the first book.
This was a wonderful book for a wonderful ending of a trilogy! I throughly enjoyed every minute of this book and did not want it to end! I think it was a perfect ending for Rowan and her men! I loved seeing how the story continued and finally ended with so many questions answered. I loved getting more of Bastian and Orsen, they were so perfect and I am personally a fan of Bastian. and of course you cant forget Nix or Gray, both of them were already well loved! I loved seeing how all the relationships continued to develop. I really enjoyed seeing how they all got along as a group! Even the side characters got developed stories, that was what made this book even better! This is another great Reverse Harem for the books! I highly recommend if you want RH and dragon shifters and a fun read that will keep you wanting more!
Thank you Melissa Huxley and her team for allowing me to read this arc, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Jumping in straight from the cliffhanger of an ending we’re taken with our FMC as she runs. The drastic reaction and reveal of what the threat was does push the last MMC to finally come to terms with his feelings and communicate them with the FMC. This escape of the FMC doesn’t last long as she’s pulled back to the horde for her healing abilities.
Once we get back to the horde we are once again left in a loop of new normal, with a threat hovering over them and nothing being done about it. Everything seems to happen to them, rather than having the alphas take the initiative to affect something.
We don’t really get all the answers I was hoping for, with motivations and reasoning, but in the end things do get wrapped up. The MMCs get to show their growth individually, as does the FMC, but they also get to show their growth and strength together as the clan leaders.
This was a fun easy romance series overall, and was a pretty enjoyable read.
I did enjoy this book but at times it felt like it dragged on and was longer than necessary. Another issue with the series as a whole was lack of consistency with character descriptions. For example Nina had blonde hair in the first book but the second and third it was dark brown and she had glasses. Bastian and Orsen’s eye colors changed several times between brown, green and blue. Errors like that should have been caught by the editor and the author should have had a clearer picture about what their characters looked like. Lastly, while I do like spice in a book this book had entirely too much of it. There were scenes I skipped because it was happening nearly every other chapter and the book lost its plot. The book could have easily deleted several of those scenes for something more interesting like an extension of the epilogue after Rowan speaks to Griffin on the phone.
Bastian definitely won me over in this one. After being such an asshole in the first two books, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about him, but he really redeemed himself. Watching his character grow and seeing a softer side to him made such a difference, and by the end, I was completely sold.
I also loved getting to see more of Orsen in this book. We learn more about who his father is 👀 and let’s just say Orsen really steps up to be a badass alpha.
And then we have Nix… still the ultimate golden retriever dragon and I wouldn’t have him any other way. 💛 Grey is still an absolute sweetheart, and together with Bastian and Orsen, they are fated mates that I would die to have 😍
I’ve loved watching Rowan’s story unfold throughout this series, and this final book gave us a really satisfying conclusion. I’m definitely going to miss these characters, but I’m so happy with how their story ended. 🥹❤️
In this third and final book following Rowan and her mates we watch as Rowan comes into her own as a healer, mate and alpha. The guys *finally * begin to come around and get their heads on straight. That was a journey in itself! I love the way that comes about.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but this was my favourite book of the three. It was 5 ⭐️ spice and the story was great too. I loved Rowan as a FMC. She was the perfect blend of saucy, strong and smart. She does have her moments when that sauciness is sharp too, but she has come such a long way from the first book.
I really loved this book and if you’re on the fence about finishing this series, you really do need to read this one. It’s so so good. I feel like we might see more from some of these characters in the future…
I received an advance copy of this book in return for my honest review.
The perfect conclusion for a sneaky yet enticing story that has been teasing us for two whole books!
The backstory reveals itself between secrets, big revelations, healing, love and a well deserved vengeance!
Luckily, finally we have the pack together, learning how to reconstruct what was a strong bond but young and naive and now is unbreakable!
To be fair, do I think Bastian deserved to grovel more? Hell yeah he was an ass, but I have to admit in this book? He pull his head off the wall and is an amazing mate and without doing spoilers… he very much made everyone who makes her suffer pay😈
Nix was completely adorable as always, Grey quiet and the calm on the storm but Orsen? That feral side? DAMN. I LOVE IT.
Overall a great conclusion and a great end for an exciting trilogy.
The Dragons' Eternal Mate is the last book in The Dragons of North Oak trilogy, an it picks up right where book two left off.
This was a nice conclusion to the story. All the mystery and problems from the previous books get solved, we get to see more of the Alphas and their relationship not only with Rowan but also between themselves and the horde. The spice is central to the story, with the actual plot taking a step back, and only bringing all the previous plotlines to a nice and neat conclusion.
Overall, it was a nice and light read, and a cute trilogy in general. Perfect if you are looking for something lighthearted and low angst, with a nice and sweet conclusion for everyone involved.
I was so excited to read this new series by Melissa Huxley, and I was not disappointed!
While it was hard to wait for this last one to come out, it was worth the wait, and I raced through the conclusion to the Dragons of North Oak!
I love love love Rowan’s character, who is strong and independent, but learning to be loved and allow herself to be part of a pack. Her growth (and her mates growth) is what makes this series so great!
We get our HEA after a few much-needed resolutions, but I do wish I had a few more chapters to prolong the happiness!
Looking forward to seeing what else Melissa Huxley comes up with along this genre, the bar is certainly high!
This was such a stunning conclusion to the series! It's so hard to really not give spoilers, but I will say that a few people got what they deserve in both a good and bad way. The spice was amazing. I really enjoyed how the connections between each MMC and Rowan were unique to them. Nix has such puppy energy and it was really fun to read the scenes with him in it. You couldn't help liking him. I enjoyed the turn around that Bastian had in this book. I feel like he did so much better at proving to Rowan that he was there for her and showing sides of himself that she needed to see to be able to really grow their relationship. The characters have depth and the story is rich in spice, tension, and action. Definitely an amazing choice if you're in the mood for dragons!

Rowan finally gets her happily ever after!! After all the push and pull and ups and downs things are finally starting to relax for her and her mates.
She’s not alone though. Her dragons take a fierce protector role in everything surrounding her.
Bastien really steps up, I loved seeing this side of him now that he’s finally all in with Rowan. Orsen, Nix, and Greylen are still pretty perfect too!!
I love Ma. She is still one of my favorite characters.
This being Melissa’s first PNR I can’t wait to see what she cooks up next!!
