The only fault I could find out with this book is that this is a short story rather than a full length novel. 😁 Damn, this is one damn good story. ❤️ I admit that the reasons I bought this audio is pretty vain. 😅 I heard Greg Tremblay did a British accent in this one and I have never heard of him doing it. So I bought this audio without even reading the blurb and let me tell you guys, the best decision I ever made. 😍 Susanne Saville definitely knows how to weave an amazing story. 👏

Dimitri has an itch that doesn’t seem to go away no matter how many times he scratches. And that itch aka the bane of his existence is Agent Thomas Dalton who has been trying too many times to catch him and put him away. Despite being on the opposite sides of law and order, Dimitri can’t deny how much he wanted Thomas. So he decided to get the next best thing if he couldn’t get real Thomas. A one night stand with a man who will look very similarly to Thomas in a discreet location where nobody will know him. And to his delight or rather dismay, Dimitri is going to find out that he’s going to get the real genuine Thomas rather than a replica one night stand. 😉

OH MY GOD!!! 😱 How much I loved this little gem! 💎 How Susanne Seville managed to pack so many emotions in an audio that only lasts over an hour, I’ll never know! ☺️ I admit that I didn’t hope for much when I went into this story. I though this was going to be a really hot erotica at best but my my my, I was quite blown away. 💜👏 Dimar’s complex and intricate character and how sweet, loving and understanding Tom was! Damn! That was dreamy and so hot! 🥰🔥 I really loved everything about this and wish I got a full length novel instead of this shortie little gem. 💜 The ending made me smile like a loony. 😁 And wow, Greg Tremblay’s performance of this one was just out of this world! Like insanely good! 😍👏 Loved it so much and would recommend this to anyone who loves enemies to lovers trope. 🔥

So I stumbled upon this little gem quite by accident...

Yeah, we're going to have another little ramble here. You see recently audible.com offered their members the change to have access to a fair number of the romance audio books that they offer for a set monthly price it's a similar plan to what amazon offers for e-books and they were nice enough to let members have a 30 day free trial and after that the rate still made for a very tempting offer given that on average I would have paid more simply by purchasing even one audio books so of course I decided that further investigation was needed that was 2 months ago and me and their romance package are still going strong and it was while I was perusing these books that I stumbled across this little gem.

While the author, Susanne Saville is new to me. I admit it was the narrator who caught my eye...yeah, that's right we're talking about Greg Tremblay here and there was that wonderful little purple box with an 'R' in the corner that told me I could add this one to my library and listen to it without undue stress to my poor abused credit card so 'hell yeah!' I was in.

Now since this started because of Greg Tremblay let me just have a little babble about him first. Without fail whether I love, like or even loathe the book this narrator has never left me feeling disappointed. I feel fairly confident when I say that any book he's narrated that I've had an issue with it wasn't the narration. The man knows his stuff and he's fan-freakin'-tastic at what he does. But at just over one hour with this one...he basically blew me away with his narration. Seriously that's it that's all there is to this story 1 hour, 15 minutes start to finish.

Now add to this the fact that this new to me author Susanne Saville has written a story that while it's essentially a complete story, it's also left me seriously wanting more from these two characters.

Professional assassin, Dmitri Dzerzhinsky has been walking the line between right and wrong for a while now because FBI agent Thomas Dalton holds way more interest for him than is healthy for a man in his profession and he knows this has to change. So Dmitri goes to 1Night Stand thinking that a little help from this highly reputed and discreet company is just what he needs. Arranging to have a one night stand with a Thomas Dalton stand-in turns out to be anything but what Dmitri was looking for.

When Thomas discovers that Dmitri's plan...Thomas makes plans of his own. Plans that with any luck will give both Thomas and Dmitri more than one night with the man of their dreams.

I loved this story I'm not really sure what I was expecting when I started it but what I got was a story that had me sitting up and taking notice. I was both surprised and impressed by the amount of information and emotion that was fit into so little time. Sadly this appears to be the only M/M book by this author and it's release date shows as 2015 so I would have to say that this is probably the end of the road for Dmitri, Thomas and I...mores the pity I do believe we could have had a wonder relationship, but alas 'twas not to be...however, if you're looking for something short, steamy and packed with interest and narrated by one superb narrator...seriously, give this one a try and if you happen to have taken advantage of audibles romance package you can do it for nothing...zip, zero, nada just the click of a button and you to can enjoy this little gem.

Psst, just so you know my little ramble about the romance package on audible is just that my little ramble. I've not been asked or offered any remuneration for this and honestly Audible has no idea I'm having this little ramble so this is just me sharing what's so far proven to be an awesome listening opportunity with you...nothing more.

This was a sexy little nugget. It would not have hurt my feelings if it were longer.

Hard nosed assassin (Dima) has been crushing hard on the FBI profiler that keeps crossing his path. So much so that he's been sending him info to help him take down the baddies. Dima contacts a dream hookup establishment that's super exclusive to give him a one night stand with a look alike.

Only the real deal shows up.

The real deal shows up and likes a bit of rough.

Tremblay brought'd it. As usual.

Good stuff.

It is a short story and presents actually a single prolonged sex scene, with just a little information around. A very nice narration though, it is why I give this novel one star additionally.

Desert Tryst (1Night Stand)

Holy sh*t this was hot! And yet sweet and tender.
Perfect short read.

Dmitri. Assassin, tormented and tortured soul. No emotions, no feelings, almost not human.
Tom. FBI agent, profiler. Searching for who he is in what he feels about the assassin he's supposed to bring in.

Madam Eve provides the opportunity for both of them to put what they feel and don't feel to the test.
In Mexico.
Talk about heat! They come together in a crash of need, passion and want that shutters them both to pieces.
Dima feels... he feels. The agent brings him the light his dark world didn't know needed. After all that time looking at the agent from afar, having him now there with him, able to reach out and touch him... he knows he's never going to be able to let him go. Don't want to either. Who wants to live in darkness.
Tom is in awe of what having the assassin wrapped around him means to him. He needs to protect him, Dima needs protection. He won't let Dima end the 1night stand at just that. Dima is his.

Beautiful, heartbreaking.
You can't just look away cause you don't want to miss on how they are meant for each other.

First half of the story is from Dima POV, second half from Tom's
Heartwarming how they come together. Just beautiful. And I'd love to keep on reading...

Enjoy!

What if you were a fourty-ish hitman for the Russian mob infatuated with a younger FBI agent to such an extent that you protect him from afar and help him in his job, and had ordered a high-class madam to book for you a weekend out there in the Nevada desert with a look-alike of said lawman, only to discover not only that your hired boytoy is none other than the object of your lust but also that he may not be immune at all to your charm ? Such is the power packed by this little gem of a short-story that it manages to have the reader soon forget all about the sheer implausibility of its subject matter. Beyond the effortless dialogue and a love scene that cleverly combines equal measures of heat and romanticism - in itself nothing less of a challenge ! -, I loved the fact that it falls into two halves, the first written in Dmitri's POV, and the latter in Thomas'; that way, we get plenty of insight into this pair of brave souls and understand why they are attracted to each other in an almost magnetic way. The style strikes an easy mean between economy and lyricism, making for a lovely read especially in the chapters that delve into Dimitri's soul; and the strong HFN ending, with a promise for more in the future, delivers a feel-good note that is neither fabricated nor too upbeat. If only it could branch off into a series with those two characters !

My thoughts: I give it ❤️❤️ only because of Greg Tremblay's wonderful narration. The story was very flat and one dimensional. There is no hint of motivation prior to or after their tryst. What happens next?

This story was surprisingly awesome and engaging, and for such a short book. My immediate reaction was to hunt down more of her MM stories, but alas, it appears that this was the first.

You have talent lady, GIMME MORE!!

The story was pretty good, although a lot of space was dedicated to sex that could have been spent fleshing out the story. The narration was fantastic.

I wish this was longer, the characters were really interesting. I'd definitely be interested in reading more about these two. Hopefully there will be more in the future.

I had no idea there were M/M 1Night Stand books. I gotta say, "WHEW!!!" That was hot! Desert Tryst is exactly that - a one-night stand that takes place in a Bed & Breakfast located in New Mexico. As per usual, the service goes above and beyond when arranging the tryst, arranging for the actual object of Dmitri's lust to fulfill his fantasy... Special Agent Thomas Dalton. On opposite sides of the law, one would expect an enemies-to-lovers storyline. However, we come to learn that both men have harbored an attraction for one another for some time. While Dmitri sublimated his attraction for his foe by feeding Thomas information that enabled him to bring down criminals and advance his career, Thomas had to come to terms with his attraction for Dmitri as he'd never before been attracted to a man and didn't quite recognize it for what it was. Fortunately for both men, Madam Eve knows best.

As this audiobook is performed from an erotic novella, there is little time for complex character development. Saville moves the "relationship" along through each man's internal musings and their conversations regarding previous run-ins, thus making the post-coital decisions believable. As for the one-night stand, let's just say that the desert wasn't the only thing hot.

Not surprisingly, Tremblay's performance was excellent. I loved the Russian accent he affected for Dmitri. I am thankful that Thomas was American as it allowed me to enjoy Tremblay's more natural speaking voice, thus giving me two aural treats to gorge myself on. While Desert Tryst might not be the most complex of plots, it was exactly what it purported to be and delivered on its promise and then some. As an audiobook, Tremblay's vocal performance makes a sexy story even hotter and guaranteed that it will be listened to again... and again... and again - hence the 5 stars.

FBI Agent Thomas Dalton and Hired Gun Dmitri Dzerzhinsky are on opposing sides of the law, and justly so, they should despise each other. Not so much though. Since the day Dmitri saved Tom's life a mutual attraction formed, and now they seem to have found a way to scratch the shared itch. Madame Eve from 1Night Stand to the rescue. Each man asks for one night with the person that has filled their dreams and almost every waking thought. For Thomas, that's Dmitri... and Dimi is so taken with agent that he risks everything for just one night. But what will happen when the sun rises?

Short, sexy and oh so steamy. Narrated by Greg Tremblay, the first time I've listened to an English/British type of accent from him, me likee! Very well written and put together, and even though the story was so short, there was still enough of the story to pull me in and get me invested in these two characters. The attraction and anticipation were magnificent. If you're looking for a deliciously dirty little snack, this should be right up your alley.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I’ve read this novella a few times since I first purchased it in 2019, but I’ve never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I enjoyed this book and thought the chemistry between professional ass*ssin Dmitri aka Dima and FBI Special Agent Thomas was off the charts. This is a quick read but that’s part of the course with it being from the 1 Night Stand universe.  Madame Eve goes above and beyond to make sure that her clients needs are met. Dima has wanted Thomas from the first moment he saw him but they’re on completely opposite sides. Dima has helped Thomas solve his cases by leaving certain clues, he was even punished from his “patron” for it. Thomas is wanting to recruit Dima to work for the FBI as a protected source. I’m glad that we got a dual POV, the first half was from Dima and the second half was from Thomas. I wish this book would’ve been longer, even if it was just an epilogue as it kind of left it up in the air whether they end up having a HEA. I’d recommend the book, 1NS universe and author to everyone.

Audiobook Review

This is a very short, but engaging story. It actually packs quite a bit into what is basically one encounter between two men who have longed for each other from afar; an enemies to lovers type thing. One is a Russian criminal, raised and abused to be ruthless, the other a true blue FBI agent. High heat and yummy loving ensues. It is good enough that I would love a full novel with what happens after this encounter, as it is a HFN ending. There is a lot of back story implied and it would be a great novel. The writing is very good and picking Greg Tremblay as the narrator was a great choice. He does a wonderful Russian accent and I just love his voice. He truly brings this couple to life.

This is short story,so to say anything about the plot, that isn't already said in the blurb would be spoiler, and if you read just one book of the 1NightStand series, you already know what to expect...

And this would be great addition,if it was finished...but this story not so much ends as it just stops. There is possibility of some kind of future for the MCs,but that's just it - possibility based on "I shall consider it" ...I need something stronger than that,'cause we are not talking about banker and accountant here,we are talking about assassin and FBI agent. And the story was really great right until the very end...But,unfortunately it didn't left me satisfied.
