Review of advance copy received from StoryOrigin.

Warded by His Wolf hooked me from the start, throwing readers straight into a dangerous conspiracy that immediately had me wanting answers. I loved Maddox's internal struggle between his professional duty and his instinctive mate bond with Ivy, and the fact that the slow burn begins on his side was a refreshing change.
Ivy was a standout character for me. She's capable, level-headed, and avoids many of the usual helpless heroine tropes. The writing is smooth and easy to read, and the way Maddox and Ivy think about each other had me eagerly waiting for them to finally get together.
While I occasionally felt there was more telling than showing, and some ideas were repeated, it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment. My biggest challenge was the lack of world-building early on. As a new reader to Mira Hawthorne, I found myself searching for context that I felt could have been established sooner.
Overall, I really enjoyed this unique take on a wolf shifter romance, where the mystery and conspiracy elements share the spotlight with the romance. A solid read, and I'd happily pick up another book by Mira Hawthorne.

Shifters and witches are my favorite paranormal romance couples, but even that can’t save this book.

The book threw around a lot of seer terminology without explanation. To be fair, I haven’t read the other books in the series. However, I don’t think the author should assume that every reader is reading the books in order.

Ivy and Maddox have zero chemistry, and neither character reacts to anything without a lot of internal analysis. It’s very robotic. I couldn’t bring myself to care about what happens to them. I can’t say much about the villain without spoilers, but the villain plot was all tell and no show—very unsatisfying.

The phrasing, grammar tics, and lack of villain plot resolution make me think this book is AI-generated. I looked it up. According to her Amazon author page, she has published 22 books in about 18 months, with two more coming out before the end of October. That math means I won't be reading another book by this author.

This is another wonderful read by author Mira Hawthorne. Warded By His Wolf is part of the The Pack Guard Agency series and does not disappoint. This author does an excellent job of making each story fresh while remaining true to previous characters and journeys. I loved it from start to finish. The wonderful story full of paranormal, romance, action, mystery, and heartfelt emotions were seen throughout. I also loved Maddox and Ivy. From their first meet, they have a connection that is heart-emotional, even though both may not recognize it as such. I was engaged, enjoyed their journey, and highly recommend.

This book grabbed me from the beginning. A story of unrealized talent, betrayal, love, lust, espionage, intrigue, good vs.evil and so much more. This author does not fail to entertain. Bring on the next read!

This was such a surprising read; Ivy and Maddox are perfect for each other, he believes her without question and she finally feels heard.
This story flows well, unravelling a complex story that is a delight to read.

Great read. It was a fun and fast read. I enjoyed it. The descriptions were in depth enough to paint a picture in your mind. I would have liked to have seen a bit more banter but it was fun and full of action. Some was a bit repetitive but I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
