I just couldn't continue on with this. There was just nothing here that truly grabbed me, or managed to hold my attention for long with these stories or characters.
I'm honestly surprised I read for as long as I did. I finally decided to just stop in the middle of the 3rd book of this 5 volume book series.
So I don't see myself returning here.
I'm just glad this set only cost me $1.00.
Basically I wasn't feeling the simpleton approach here. Given the circumstances & what is occurring with these people. How dangerous things are, they were resolved in a very easy way. Even with how things played out. This approach/resolution just didn't match the circumstances & reasons of why we're witnessing certain things. I just couldn't believe it, nor could I get behind it.
And the fact that the characters didn't really inspire me to care about them or their plights, didn't help either.

Loved the Kingpin Love Affair series
Book 1 and 2 are Bree and Zerro. There is a lot of action and love/hate thing going on with them. There is an OMG Cliffhanger in book 1 but since book 2 is straight after it in this set you wont need to worry to long to find out what happens. Plenty of HOT sex scenes in these ones
Book 3 - This is Devon and Tegan's book the book reads in current time with flash backs to when they were younger. Great story with some heart stopping trying to read faster moments.
Book 4 - This is Isabella and Jareds book. Wow a very emotional read with some confronting scenes. They are both broken and unsure if they will ever be able to be fixed when Zerro throws them together. Plenty of emotions while reading it but so worth it in the end.
Book 5 - Great fun short story between Bree and Zerro. Loved it and loved seeing how things are for then a few years in from their books.
Great series and I would definitely recommend

~ The Complete Series ~ 5 STARS !!
As a whole I couldn't be happier with this series. It was a total different direction for this author. Bree and Zerro will most likely always be my faves !! Not just because we met them first but I just couldn't get away from Zerro no matter how he behaved , the naughtier , the more gruesome the better. I know sick , right LOL. I love where their story went and of course now how I know it ends. Devon and Teg was a story I can't help but get hooked on. One of my favorite things to read is that long lost love , the past rediscovered etc etc. Devon and Teg gave us that and so much more. Plus they helped form this huge happy family bond with Bree , Zerro and the dads. I enjoyed reading the first three books as they released alone and now for this SET release I was able to read books 4 and the novella !! My feelings on Jared were a little twisted from meeting him as Bree's brother , he was not one of my faves but I knew he would have a story to tell and most likely melt panties and dominate like I love. I actually loved Isabella's story and really enjoyed seeing her transformation. Although the novella was super short I was thrilled to have a bit of time to focus on Bree and Zerro. It does take place at a point before book 4 so it isn't really new compared to what we get from them in Jared's story BUT again it was nice to have some one on one with them !! As a set for 99 pennies or even when the price goes up to $4.99 this is a great deal and well worth the money !!

Damn you Josie and your mutha f-in cliffy !! You had me all wrapped up in this super sex hazed new found love and then BOOM...more like BANG...WTF
I have been lucky enough to read the Bittersweet books by Josie and loved them all. Enjoyed her angsty writing and of course she knows how to write some hot sex !! But this book is unlike her others and I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome this story was and I seriously cannot wait for more !!
Right in the opening we suffer with Alzerro while he witnesses the worst evil a child can. How can you not hurt for this little boy who is lost and now left alone. Fast forward years and of course he is bitter , angry and looking for revenge. The mafia world really suits Zerro and I was hooked on him and his every move right from the start. He is dark and mysterious but also so very telling. Nobody wants to mess with him but of course one woman comes along and not only does she mess with him but she causes him to fall !!
Bree is arriving home for a college break and she walks in on her father being threatened over a debt he owes to Zerro. Offering herself up for payment is the craziest thing ever but she does it and will now be living in a nightmare as Zerro's whatever he wants her to be !! Can this college farm girl stand up to this brutal mafia KING ?? OMG you have to love Bree and her persistence. She does not give up easily and she is a force to be reckon with as well !!
Very quickly you see they have a chemistry , it doesn't matter how horrible he is Bree just cannot seem to turn off the attraction to him. Their relationship is twisted and crazy but NO DOUBT HOT & ELECTRIC. As their story travels on the shift in Zerro is evident and the honest confessions out of both of them will have you soaring. Only of course to be flattened by certain people and information that may or may not be true. They make a great team in all ways but their sex is so freakin fabulous !!!!!!
DAMN DAMN DAMN. Without spoiling I just cannot say enough about this story , I am drooling for more and seriously have called Josie every name in the book since I finished it 20 minutes ago !!
~ BOOK TWO ~ INEVITABLE ~ 5 STARS
WOW this series is getting crazy messy !! If you thought you knew what to expect I bet you will be blown away !! Zerro really does a number on Bree and us readers in this book. He is cold and calculating but then super loving and super hot at the same time !! Basically he is FREAKIN CONFUSING AS ALL HECK !! The secrets , the lies , the alliances , OH MY I honestly questioned so many things when reading this. I will gladly say I was proved to be wrong about a few things and was pleasantly surprised with the ending. I look forward to the next book and would love to have more Zerro and Bree !!
Bree is in the midst of terror , being taken by Mack and having no clue if Zerro has survived the confrontation.
The secrets that were revealed were earth shattering and how can they move forward with this new information. Bree is trying to get away and Zerro is trying to find her. When they do find each other you won't believe the situation and the ruthless behavior of Zerro. I swear he is the man you love to hate , hate to love. The ball keeps rolling and the secrets just keep coming out. Oddly enough the person Bree finds comfort and control in is Zerro. Their chemistry is off the charts and their love is undeniable. It may be crazy and sound ridiculous but you just can't turn it off when you love someone. Despite Zerro's craziness we get to see another side of him. He is willing to give up anything and everything to save Bree and be with Bree. It was such a great thing to read about. Zerro finally gets to a place in his life where he recognizes what he has and learns how to give himself to someone. Bree has many new struggles to overcome but with the help of Zerro , James , Jared and Devon she is able to build herself up and take matters into her own hands. We see a new side of Bree and I loved it !!
This part of their journey was filled with violence , hate , love , hot sex and drama. I yelled , gasped and even cried. I loved James and his story , the letter and the banter between Jared and Zerro. I knew the man we met in book 1 would be exactly who he was at the end of book 2 , it may have taken longer than I thought and left one heck of a tornado in its path but such a heartwarming ending to a very troubled journey !! Did I mention how hot Zerro was in the bedroom , really anywhere , the hood of a car , the bedroom ANYWHERE , did I say ANYWHERE !!
~ BOOK THREE ~ INVINCIBLE ~ 5 STARS
To me J.L. Beck is like a master chef !! She adds just the right amount of everything I desire into her stories and they come out amazing !! Drama , angst , hot sex , heartache , violence , scary and crazy twists , secrets , lies , suspense need I go on !!
Honestly I wasn't sure what I was going to think of Devon. From the teasers and little sneak peeks I saw I knew he was a dirty talker and super hot. I really didn't expect to see the amount of emotion pouring out of him that we saw. WOW he is such an intense man. It made him that much more desirable and very easy to relate to because despite the mistakes of his past he now wore his heart on his sleeve for his girl and there was never a question about how he felt. His struggle with Tegan was more of trying to stay away to protect her , when that failed it was his mission to be there and protect her , that may have failed as well but in the end she just needed his love , their love would get them through and be key to their survival and future. Devon has worked too much for too long with no break. He is starting to screw up and his boss sends him on vacation for a month. Being the stubborn guy he is he finds himself what he thinks is an easy case to uncover in his old hometown. Devon was not ready to see his past and come face to face with the connection between it all. Thankfully Devon wasn't as stealth in his undercover work as he thought. I was worried for a bit but as he did for Zerro and Bree , Zerro now did for Devon and Teg. Things came full circle and it seems they may have their HEA !!
Tegan really has no luck in love. Losing her high school sweetheart for her own safety and now dealing with the aftermath of her current ex Jamie. Tegan is forced into leaving school and working her butt off to save money for a debt. Her boss Tony tries to help her out and protect her but this diner is pretty shady and it doesn't take long for the wrong people to get wind of her whereabouts. Once again saved by her past Tegan has a choice to make. Second chance at a love that never died or finally saying goodbye to the one that let her go. Such emotion and heartache is felt in their interactions. We also get some amazing steam and the dirty talk !! PANTY MELTING !! Devon and Tegan are made for each other , fate has brought them here and now love will save them , or so I would hope...
Love the ending , the twists and turns were great. The connections between Devon's work and Tegan's past , WOW. The way things came full circle and played out , amazing. Again Josie is a master chef and I am bummed that the story ended. Loved the sneak peek of her future work and look forward to what comes next !!
OMG FAVE LINE - I won't spoil it but it has to do with a cumshot and swallowing........ CLASSIC !!!!!!!
~ BOOK FOUR ~ INJUSTICE ~ 5 STARS
So as you can see by my reviews of this authors books , and/or my review of the others in this series I am fan !! JL knows how to mix the drama , angst , heartache and hot sex so it has you gasping for breath and hanging on by a thread. I mentioned in a different review that Jared hasn't been a fave of mine , IDK , maybe I don't have room for as many guys as I thought ?? LOL BUT I do love Isabella and her story is just heartbreaking and sick. Her family is horrible , not just in the beginning when you know what they did but holy crap in the end , are you kidding me.
Jared is just not a happy camper. He hides away at his house , uses sex to hide the pain and keeps his distance from his sister , his best friend and their family. Needing a favor and finding Jared to be the perfect guy , Zerro goes to him for help. Honestly I couldn't see how Jared was going to be any good for Isabella but I trust Zerro - swoon !! With both Izzy and J having some serious issues and pain to hide you are on edge waiting to see who is going to flip first. Jared has naughty thoughts on his mind constantly and Izzy does too but her innocence and fears make her timid and unsure. Jared's crap attitude is no help as well. Once boundaries are crossed and feelings are flowing the story changes and becomes panty melting and a bit more lighthearted , for a minute at least !! There are very few dull moments here and you can tell by Izzy's demeanor when the SH** is about to hit the fan. And holy wow it does. There are some touch and go moments and Izzy really breaks my heart towards the end. It was amazing to see them heal each other.
As much as I enjoyed Jared and Izzy I was thrilled to get more of B & Z and D & T. I love this gang and I am sad to know they have all told their stories and will move on without us.
~ BONUS NOVELLA ~ INFRINGED ~ 4 STARS
I know I know , the series as a whole was a 5 star read , all the books alone were 5 stars so why is this a 4 star....well because I am being a picky reader and I am pouting that it wasn't even a tiny bit longer or maybe had a nice synop where we could see Zerro in the delivery room or something LOL !! Honestly I just wanted more and I know I should be happy , which I am , since we weren't even going to get more of them BUT I am a Zerro hoarder sooooo I will never be satisfied !! Moving on
Bree is feeling insecure or stuck in a rut , don't I get that , if only I had a Zerro LOL
She is wanting that piece of Zerro that made him burn for her and everything else be damned if he wanted anything. For Zerro he is a husband , and FBI agent and a Daddy , completely in love with his family and his job. He doesn't realize that certain things are not up to par. So basically this novella is set some time before book 4 and Bree is on a mission to light that spark and make her man burn for her like he always did. She needs to be sure he will never get bored. She is so cute and I love her plan. More so I love Zerro's devotion and his determination to give her what she wants. All around a happy , panty melting glimpse of their everyday life as NORMAL people !!

This is a great box set and each book is outstanding, has brilliant, interesting characters, great story line and write amazingly well.
INDEBTED.....
OMG what a amazing book. Indebted is dark, dangerous and gritty and had everything I love about a story in it.
I loved every thing about this story. Both characters were great. Zerro was fascinating to read about. He had so many layers, was so complex and mysterious. He had so many sides to his personality that he was beyond fascinating.I thought his character was so well developed and I liked how the author made such a evil character that you couldn't help fall in love with and want to know so much more about. Zerro was different with Bree from the first day he bought her home. He went from being a hard mobster in front of everyone, then he was a lot softer and caring with Bree once they were alone. His personality was such a mystery, I couldn't work him out and I loved that about him.
The end was Mind Blowing. I wasn't expecting the twist at all.
The story from start to end was intriguing and fascinating.
INEVITABLE.....
I have to say J L Beck lived up to every expectation and then some with Inevitable.
She bought back more twists and turns than a roller coaster ride, more dark fast paced action and more in depth knowledge of both the characters so we could get a much better look in to how they are coping after the cliff hanger and how they move forward.
Zerro isn't the same man you meet in book 1. He's no longer the the Mafia king that is feared and I loved getting to know this new side of him.
The author keeps you guessing throughout the whole book. When you thought you knew what would happen, BAM the author would throw in a curve ball and take you away from what you thought you knew.
The story is so full of darkness still, but it also is full of heartbreak. Loyalties are put on the line, theres danger, violence, intensity, betrayal and smoking hot sex.
This book had everything and then more in it. The characters were very strong, every character had its own role and you got to understand everyone in more depth.
This book was on the edge of your seat reading, gripping your kindle do tightly your knuckles turn white as you don't no where the story is heading next. I loved all the grit, suspense and unpredictability of the story.
I applaud the author on creating such a great few books. In my eyes she got everything perfect. The characters depth and stories, the story flow and the right amount of hotness.
INVINCIBLE.....
Wow what a great book 3. J.L Beck has done it again.
I absolutely loved Tegan and Devon. Their characters were very different which caused them to have some very interesting and humour out fights, but great chemistry too.
The story has so many twists and turns in it, with a bit of danger and mystery to spice it up. I never knew where the story was heading one page to the next and I loved that about it.
The chemistry between the couple was very hot. They obviously had strong feeling for each other and I liked watching there relationship develop throughout the story.
This story was very different to the first 2 books. This story is much lighter and the characters are very different. There is more humor throughout as well. I enjoyed the fact the story was very different to the other 2 in the series and I liked that the author changed it up a lot to keep things fresh, but also giving us the elements we loved still like the danger and mystery.
The story was very well written and I enjoyed the story a lot.
INJUSTICE.....
This story is about 2 broken people who have bad a very hard life and are thrown together by chance.
Jared is certainly a very unique character. He's very dangerous, he feels he can take any kind of risk because he has nothing to live for anymore and can't let go of his past. He is completely broken but as a reader you can also see how fragile and vulnerable he is and that he is crying out for help through his anger and sadness.
Isabella is a character my heart broke for repeatedly throughout the story. She has been through so much, but still manages to stay strong and not give up. She was a character you couldn't help but admire, want to succeed and become whole again.
She has been hurt repeatedly and treated disgustingly. I can't believe how strong she managed to stay despite all she was put through.
J L Beck took us on a great journey that she unravelled before our eyes. There was a lot of twists and turns throughout that kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more and more.
Jared and Isabella needed each other to heal even though they were thrown together by chance. Watching their relationship unfold was amazing. I loved reading their story and how the Author bought them together and created a emotional, passionate and romantic story. She also made the story raw, dangerous and a page turner. I loved the balance she created between them all.
I loved this story as much as I have loved the other books in the series. The author really knows how to build a great story with unique characters.
INFRINGED....
This was a nice novella to read which I liked. It finished the boxset off in a nice way and I loved this addition to the boxset.

This is a great series. Each book is unique in its own way, but each book tells a great story and has great characters.
I'd recommend this series to anyone as it has something for everyone in it.

I applaud the author on creating such a great few books. In my eyes she got everything perfect. The characters depth and stories, the story flow and the right amount of hotness.

Wow what a great book 3. J.L Beck has done it again.
I absolutely loved Tegan and Devon. Their characters were very different which caused them to have some very interesting and humour out fights, but great chemistry too.
The story has so many twists and turns in it, with a bit of danger and mystery to spice it up. I never knew where the story was heading one page to the next and I loved that about it.
The chemistry between the couple was very hot. They obviously had strong feeling for each other and I liked watching there relationship develop throughout the story.
This story was very different to the first 2 books. This story is much lighter and the characters are very different. There is more humor throughout as well. I enjoyed the fact the story was very different to the other 2 in the series and I liked that the author changed it up a lot to keep things fresh, but also giving us the elements we loved still like the danger and mystery.
The story was very well written and I enjoyed the story a lot.
INJUSTICE.....
This story is about 2 broken people who have bad a very hard life and are thrown together by chance.
Jared is certainly a very unique character. He's very dangerous, he feels he can take any kind of risk because he has nothing to live for anymore and can't let go of his past. He is completely broken but as a reader you can also see how fragile and vulnerable he is and that he is crying out for help through his anger and sadness.
Isabella is a character my heart broke for repeatedly throughout the story. She has been through so much, but still manages to stay strong and not give up. She was a character you couldn't help but admire, want to succeed and become whole again.
She has been hurt repeatedly and treated disgustingly. I can't believe how strong she managed to stay despite all she was put through.
J L Beck took us on a great journey that she unravelled before our eyes. There was a lot of twists and turns throughout that kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more and more.
Jared and Isabella needed each other to heal even though they were thrown together by chance. Watching their relationship unfold was amazing. I loved reading their story and how the Author bought them together and created a emotional, passionate and romantic story. She also made the story raw, dangerous and a page turner. I loved the balance she created between them all.
I loved this story as much as I have loved the other books in the series. The author really knows how to build a great story with unique characters.
INFRINGED....
This was a nice novella to read which I liked. It finished the boxset off in a nice way and I loved this addition to the boxset.

This is a great series. Each book is unique in its own way, but each book tells a great story and has great characters.
I'd recommend this series to anyone as it has something for everyone in it.

OMG, I Loved Indebted! This was my first time reading a J.L. Beck book and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I am hooked! Alzerro and Bree's connection is dark, intriguing and HOT! Alzerro is a crazy mob king who is pure evil without a conscious. You mess with him and your days are numbered. Bree is an innocent college girl who finds her world turned upside down the minute she offers herself to Alzerro to pay off her father's dept. However, don't let her innocence and naiveness fool you. Bree is strong and brave, often voicing her disapproval of Alzerro's business and behavior. Alzerro is intrigued by Bree and cannot understand how she has gotten under his skin. He eventually opens up to Bree and allows her to see a side of him no one else knows. There are enemies everywhere and soon their little world comes crumbling down. Will Tegan be able to get out of the trouble she has been put in with the help of Devon? Can their love overcome years of hurt, and their hearts beat again as one?

I just fell in love with these characters and the struggles they both endured. J.L Beck did a beautiful job creating a story about two lost souls that although came from different worlds and circumstances, fit tougher perfectly. I couldn't get enough of them! Great job once again J.L Beck!
BONUS NOVELLA
I just loved this bonus that J.L. Beck gave us. It is about Alzerro and Bree after marriage and how they have evolved since they have met. Sometimes we fall into routines and we miss the danger and excitement that was once there when we allowed more darkness. It was nice to see Alzerro and Bree find that passion again. I love these two characters and getting a little extra of them made my day.

INDEBTED - When you get in bed with the mob, you pay in blood one way or another do you not? What happens when a young girl's father borrows money from Alzerro in order to let her go to college for a year, pay off the farm and his wife's funeral expenses? Can he pay it back? What happens if he doesn't? What happens to lovely Bree? What happens to Alzerro after he has taken Bree? Can he be a good man, or will he always be a monster to her? What happens when he finds out he has a mole/pig in his company? Who killed his mother? Why? Would they have killed him that same day? A question never answered, but I guess that can be assumed is how his father died. He never says. Will he kill Bree over something his personal guard says, or will he believe her and let her life? The ending leaves this a total cliffhanger. I cannot wait to start the next book!
INEVITABLE - Where did Mack take Bree to when he kidnapped her? Who is holding her prisoner? Are they feeding her lies about her old man being behind ALL of this? What do you do to take the Mafia kingpin down? What would hurt him the most? Taking his empire/ Taking his Queen? Taking his freedom? Who knows, but they sure seem to be willing to do that, in all manners. Who is it that is trying to do this? The FBI? Someone else? What would you do if someone tried to ruin your life from all sides, and all because you lost the love of your life? Can Bree learn to be hard, stand on her own two feet, and love Alzerro like he deserves to be loved? Can he love Bree like she deserves to be loved and to allow them to have a relationship?
INVINCIBLE - In the third book of the Kingpin Affair boxed set, we switch who the story is focused on. It is no longer focused on Alzerro and Bree, but now it focuses on Teegan and Devon. Is there any such thing as fate, or coincidences? What happens when frank, Devon and Alzerro's FBI boss makes Devon take time off. Telling him he needed to get his head on straight. What has Defon so distracted that he is being forced into a one month vacation? Where does he go and why? So many things to keep you on the edge of your seat with this book. So many unexpected twists and turns. Some of the thoughts I had I dismissed as not being possible, especially with Tony at the diner. The end of this tory after all the dark and dreary and some of the laughs that come from it, brings hope for the fourth book. I cannot wait to see what J. L. Beck has written in this fourth story!

Jared, his brother-in-law and best friend is tasked with watching over one of the women rescued, putting her effectively under home arrest in the Witness Protection Program. Find out what demons Jared is hiding. Can Isabella talk about what she has endured, helping herself and maybe even helping Jared face his demons? What are Jared's demons? What has him in such a dark place? Gotta love Bree and Tegan, helping Isabella with new clothes and things and her reaction to them when she sees them.What happens when the man that paid for Isabella comes looking for her? What happens in the aftermath of his having come. You really must read these books to find out.
INFRINGE - This novella of the series is one of the most funny. We get back to Alzerro and Bree. We see what turmoil is going on in Bree's head, when she thinks about where their lives were and where they are now. I laughed the whole way through this. The insecurities on both of their parts, then the honesty and the declarations, and even the phonecall from the bossman (Frank), Devon's father-in-law in the middle of the night and what he tells Alzerro to do will have you in stitches. This has been an incredibly hard series to put down and take breaks from. A definite must read!

This book is on a whole new level and one of the best books I've read in along time. I wish I could give it more stars....It captured me from beginning to end and it was one hell of a ride. So many twists and turns, that had me hanging on the end of my seat...
Bree comes home from college to find her father has made a deal with the devil....He had been suffering financial problems and borrowed money from the Mafia...
Alzerro is a Kingpin for the Mafia and has arrived to collect his debt. He is one powerful, deadly and sexy hunk of a man, who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Even though he wants his money....he finds himself drawn to Bree. So when she offers herself as payment, he jumps at the chance to own her...
Bree is a very strong character and even though she goes willingly, she isn't giving into Zerro. She wants to hate him for all he has done and fights him every step of the way....But at the same time, fancies the pants off him!! The chemistry between both characters is jaw dropping, captivating, totally smoking hot...
Zerro finds he is falling for Bree but has major trust issues with his past....
It also seems like everyone, even close friends are out to get him....
Who will he trust???
Can Bree win his heart and save his soul??
I really didn't want this book to end and just can't wait to find out what happens next :)

I was so excited when I heard the third book in the Kingpin series, was Devon's Story.
From the moment I read about those piercing green eyes, I was in intrigued and needed to know more about him. So this book was like a dream come true and one of my favourite books by J.L.Beck.
Devon goes through hell in his younger years. The only light in his darkness, is the love of his life Tegan. On the day of graduation Devon decides to leave town and break-up with Tegan. He feels he will ruin her life, she will be better off without him and doesn't think for a minute what his decision will do to her......
Years have gone by and Devon has done nothing but think about Tegan...
He receives information of strange activity in a diner of his home town and while on leave, decides to go and check it out. Never in a million years, did he think Tegan would still be in town, and what he finds shocks him to the core....
This is a story of a love that conquers all and is beautifully written. Thank you J.L.Beck <3

From the moment I read about those piercing green eyes, I was in intrigued and needed to know more about him. So this book was like a dream come true and one of my favourite books by J.L.Beck.
Devon goes through hell in his younger years. The only light in his darkness, is the love of his life Tegan. On the day of graduation Devon decides to leave town and break-up with Tegan. He feels he will ruin her life, she will be better off without him and doesn't think for a minute what his decision will do to her......
Years have gone by and Devon has done nothing but think about Tegan...
He receives information of strange activity in a diner of his home town and while on leave, decides to go and check it out. Never in a million years, did he think Tegan would still be in town, and what he finds shocks him to the core....

Indebted is dark, dangerous and gritty. I loved every single thing about this story. Zerro was just simply fascinating.. His character was so complex and mysterious. He was this ultimate mafia boss that everyone was terrified of. He was portrayed as being this evil persona that you would want to hate. However, after bringing Bree home, he could no longer deny his attraction towards her. When they were together, sparks flew! I totally loved their chemistry, how her light was to become the cure for his darkness. That ending was a complete shocker for me. That twist was so not expected. In simple words, INDEBTED was full of intrigue, romance and violence- FASCINATING!

I absolutely loved Tegan and Devon. Their story was very different from that of Bree and Zerro but nonetheless their chemistry was mind blowing!
The story was full of so many twists and turns, complete with a mix of danger and mystery. I could not anticipate what was going to happen next. This was one kindle-gripping story!
The chemistry between the couple was explosive. They obviously had strong feelings for each other but Tegan was hell bent on denying herself in the beginning.
Even though this book in the series is not as dark as the first one, it certainly does not mean that it was not as good. Tegan and Devon's story was new and kind of refreshing which I enjoyed very much!

She has had to go through so much that my hearts just breaks for her. However she is nit someone who gives up easily. This is not typically my type of read, but decided to give it a shot. I'm SO glad I did. Indebted was such a great story! I stayed up until 1am and 2am on sequential nights, mesmerized by the story line...I couldn't get enough of their story! The ending had me in tears and wanting more! Can't wait to read the next story!

I had doubts about Indebted when I started it; this isn't my typical read. But, I gave it a shot and thoroughly enjoyed it. I cried at the end...was that the end of Zerro and Bree's story? No, thank God, it continues in Inevitable.
As much as I enjoyed Indebted, Inevitable surpasses it by leaps and bounds. I absolutely love this book!! The characters, the story line, the passion...oh YES it is hot! I hate it when books make me cry...both Indebted and Inevitable made me cry...and in the end I loved it!! This was by far my favorite book of the series!

I fell in love with this story from the moment I read the first synopsis. J.L. Beck did a good job with this story, but it wasn't the "knock it out of the park homerun" I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, it was a great story...sexy, suspenseful, and several unexpected plot twists. But the writing was off...to me overall it fell short of the bar she set with the first two books in the series. Parts of it were amazing, but too much of the writing, the descriptions, felt repetitive. I loved how the book title was used in the story of the first two books once or twice...it was very cool and added emphasis, drawing the entire story together. On the other hand, "invincible“ was used too many times in this book that it lost its impact.

Injustice is the story of Jared and Isabella. Two broken souls that wear a mask to shut out the world and hide their pain. Fate (or Alzerro) has now thrust them together. Will they be able to help each other heal or will they continue hiding, just going through the motions of life. Such a beautiful, heartbreaking love story. While I'm not certain how I feel about the latter chapters and the ending, I do know it is how the story HAD to play out.
This story has its share of twists and turns and suspense, and...oh yeah...passion!

So I first read Indebted as a stand-alone and could not wait to get my hands on the rest of the story! I love complete series sets with no cliffhangers.
INDEBTED – the story of Alzerro “Zerro” King the mafia King and his payment, Bree. Bree’s father borrowed money from the mafia King and when he can’t make the payments, Alzerro comes to settle the debt. Bree shows up and to save her father’s life she makes a deal with the devil himself.
He takes her to his fortress and tells her that she is his possession and she cannot object to anything he asks of her. He tells her that he can fuck her and kill her before she can even say no, but when she looks into his eyes she sees a sliver of goodness which she hopes she can use to save them both.
This is a great story with a great relationship, tons of suspense and it leaves you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. This ends with a gunshot and the mother of all cliffhangers.
INEVITABLE – So the prologue picks up right at the gunshot from the first book. Mack takes Bree hostage and leaves Alzerro bleeding to death in the cabin. Alzerro is recovering at Jarred’s house and his only focus it finding Mack and rescuing Bree. Bree is being kept in a pit by a someone even more evil that Alzerro. Will Alzerro be able to save her from evil?
Oh my gosh, the twists and turns in this one are amazing! I could barely keep up, but at the end the story is perfect with an epilogue and a HEA.
INVINCIBLE – The third book focuses on Tegan and Devon who grew up together until Devon left her saying she could do better. Eight years later Tegan is still in town working as a waitress to pay of a gambling debt her dead beat boyfriend, Jamie, left her with. Devon is now a FBI agent and comes to town for a forced vacation he ends up investigating a diner and ends up in the middle of a shootout.
Devon and Tegan are wonderful and the J.L. Beck again keeps you guessing at every turn.
INJUSTICE – Isabella was sold by her family to the Russian mob and was to be handed over to her new owner once she turned of age. Luckily she is rescued by the Zerro and the FBI before anything really bad happens and she is put in protective custody with Jared. Jared is broken and can barely function so he is the last person who should be in charge of Isabella. But they are made for each other in the end.
This story is intense….at times I was yelling at the book. Isabella was ignoring obvious signs of bad things to come. I wanted to reach in the pages and wake her up, but in the end it was a great read.
INFRINGED – this is a bonus novella which brings back Zerro and Bree for an encore. It was great to see them down the road as the happy couple although Bree is longing for the darker side of Zerro that she first fell in love with.
FINAL THOUGHTS – Overall, I love a complete series and although book 1 was the only cliffhanger I really enjoyed reading them all together in order. This series was the perfect balance of dark romance and suspense. Individually I would give each book 5 stars on their own.

I finished this book last night and I am still in shock and speechless. This book is beyond phenomenal!!! If you want a suspenseful, edge of your seat, fast paces, raw, twists, turns, don’t know what is going to happen next, make you hold your breath kind of book – this is the book for you. I read this book in one day simply because once I started this book from the first page to the last – I COULD NOT put this book down.
Bree just wants to save her father and by doing that she gives herself to Zerro the mafia king to pay her father’s debt. Can Bree live with Zerro’s coldness or will she be the one to make his heart beat again? Or could lies and betrayal end it all?
OMG the ending had me in a state of shock and emotion like no other. I didn’t know if I wanted to cry or throw my kindle, or both.
Thank you JL Beck for an amazing story and allowing me to read and review it. I am on the edge of my seat still desperately waiting for book 2.

I honestly don’t know how the characters were going to get through. I finished reading last night and I’m still just in awe of the amazement and the feelings this book has brought out. So many times these characters go to hell and back not knowing if there was going to be a happy ending, sometimes even sure there wouldn’t be. No matter what though they never gave completely up and fought all the way no matter what life threw at them or what twists and turns they faced.
This book truly has everything – shock, twists, turns, the unexpected, tears, anger, laughs, concern, and love.

I've read J.L. Beck's other books, and this one definitely stands out. Beck impressed me by being able to write in a completely different genre and actually make it work.
OMG. So like, as I was reading, it was a MAJOR Beauty and the Beast flashback. I kept wondering if it was done on purpose, but it flowed EXTREMELY well throughout the story, and I think it was done on purpose... It was SOOOO great to read it! OMG. LOVE Beauty and the Beast!!!
I loved how I wasn't out-of-the-blue once I started reading. There was this awesome balance between knowing and not knowing, and what I mean by this is I didn't know what was going on, but it was something that you weren't supposed to know yet. I wasn't confused and trying to figure out what was going on like how it has happened to me with other books.
The characters all have an aura of their own. Alzerro, our main character (or King, should I say(; ) is someone that keeps making the readers think. Even at the age of 25, he is someone that has experience and has lived through many things, and it is obvious. I just REALLY wish there were more details on him and the things that he has gone through. It was sooo intriguing and I just wanted MORE!
And then there was Bree. UGH, that girl pissed me off soooo much. I don't like her. Enough said. Lol.
This book is short, but leaves you satisfied. I am super happy whenever I read one of J.L. Beck's works and just KNOW that I will be satisfied!

First of all, the cover is GORGEOUS. Love it.
I seriously expected a lot from J.L. Beck with this story because of how great her other books were, and I was not disappointed. This book had everything: the suspense, the action, the badass storyline, you name it! Beck was able to stir so many emotions within me while following the journey of our beloved (and possibly not beloved) characters. I LOVED how there was growth in the story among the characters. There was a realistic vibe because of it, and it just really added to the epicness of this book. I am SO happy that I got exposed to J.L. Beck's books and I wouldn't change it!!

I loved this book. While my heart is still stuck on Alzerro & Bree, the story of Devon & Tegan was an "impacting" one (for the lack of better wording) to say the least.
I loved the story that J.L. Beck plays out for us. She really has a way of drawing the reader in and keeps things suspenseful enough that the reader wants more. Seriously, Beck REALLY knows what she's doing. I loved it, and I can't wait for more from this VERY talented author!

OMG. So like, as I was reading, it was a MAJOR Beauty and the Beast flashback. I kept wondering if it was done on purpose, but it flowed EXTREMELY well throughout the story, and I think it was done on purpose... It was SOOOO great to read it! OMG. LOVE Beauty and the Beast!!!
I loved how I wasn't out-of-the-blue once I started reading. There was this awesome balance between knowing and not knowing, and what I mean by this is I didn't know what was going on, but it was something that you weren't supposed to know yet. I wasn't confused and trying to figure out what was going on like how it has happened to me with other books.
The characters all have an aura of their own. Alzerro, our main character (or King, should I say(; ) is someone that keeps making the readers think. Even at the age of 25, he is someone that has experience and has lived through many things, and it is obvious. I just REALLY wish there were more details on him and the things that he has gone through. It was sooo intriguing and I just wanted MORE!
And then there was Bree. UGH, that girl pissed me off soooo much. I don't like her. Enough said. Lol.
This book is short, but leaves you satisfied. I am super happy whenever I read one of J.L. Beck's works and just KNOW that I will be satisfied!

First of all, the cover is GORGEOUS. Love it.
I seriously expected a lot from J.L. Beck with this story because of how great her other books were, and I was not disappointed. This book had everything: the suspense, the action, the badass storyline, you name it! Beck was able to stir so many emotions within me while following the journey of our beloved (and possibly not beloved) characters. I LOVED how there was growth in the story among the characters. There was a realistic vibe because of it, and it just really added to the epicness of this book. I am SO happy that I got exposed to J.L. Beck's books and I wouldn't change it!!

I loved this book. While my heart is still stuck on Alzerro & Bree, the story of Devon & Tegan was an "impacting" one (for the lack of better wording) to say the least.
I loved the story that J.L. Beck plays out for us. She really has a way of drawing the reader in and keeps things suspenseful enough that the reader wants more. Seriously, Beck REALLY knows what she's doing. I loved it, and I can't wait for more from this VERY talented author!

Yaayyy more of Zerro and Bree! I loved reading more about them again, and this novella actually made me a bit emotional. These two are seriously one of my favorite couples and I am elated that I was able to read more of them!

I LOVED this series! I love the hot steamy sex and the action in each book. This series is full of so many WHAT! moments that you don't want to put it down. I loved how everything and everyone was some how connected. It was such a great read and

In this book we switch to Devon and Tegan, they were high school sweethearts and very much in love but Devon who grew up in a shitty house wanted to leave and join the FBI and his boss Frank told him to leave everyone behind, so like a dumbass he did thinking he was doing right by Tegan. It had been years since they had seen each other but both of them were still very much hung up on the other. When a case (he's not supposed to be working) takes him back to his home town he sees Tegan again and she's found herself right in the middle of his case and in Devon's bed. But can a past love erase the pain and heartbreak of being abandoned by the person you love?

This was my favorite book in the series.
This book follows Jared (from the first 2 books) and Isabella. This story was the most heart breaking for me. Jared who feels alone despite having his family, and Isabella who was sold to the Russian mafia by her parents are both very broken people. They both have past issues they have to work through in order to be open enough to let someone in. Once they both start to heal and find love and happiness in each other a wrench gets thrown in and outside forces try and pull them apart. Will love heal all or will death be the end?

Great boxset
What a great box set. This is the entire Kingpin series, with a bonus novella. I had previously read most of these stories but enjoyed reading them again.
You get the stories of Bree and Zerro, which I loved. Their story is told in the first two book. Zerro is the mafia king and Bree is paying off her dad's debt. This story is Crazy good. It has all the twists and turns. You don't expect Zerro to have a good bone in his body. Bree is a strong character and puts up with a lot from Zerro. Their story is amazing. The secondary characters, Jared and Devon, and the rest help make this story.
The third book is about Devon and Teagan. Devon is a broken man, forced to take a vacation from the FBI. Teagan is just as broken. Getting caught up with her boyfriend's debt problem, she is lost. Devon goes back home to investigate a case behind his bosses back. NEVER expecting to see Teagan again, he runs into her in the mist of her problems. He can't fight his feelings for her and won't let her go again. They are both battling the emotions and the mafia. This story is gripping and pulls you in. You get to see Zerro and how he is doing.
In the fourth book, this is the story of Jared and Isabella. Jared was introduced in the first two books as Zerro's driver and best friend. Isabella was a broken woman that was rescued at the end of the third book. Jared is lost and broken. He sees everyone around him with happiness and love. He doesn't have that and doesn't realize that is what he needs. They both don't know that they are what each other needs to feel complete. Their story has their ups and downs. Isabella is lost and stuck in her head. Devon doesn't understand his feelings for her. The back and forth that Devon does with her makes my head spin.
The final book is a bonus novella of Bree and Zerro. It was a look into the future. Bree is missing the man that Zerro was. She wants the dark and twisted that he once was. He has changed to a family man and left that side of him behind. Bree doesn't want him to regret their time and lose the love they had. Zerro doesn't know what to make out of all of this. He doesn't want to let that dark side out. Some heartbreaking things are said. In the end, their love conquers all.
Each of these stories have a HEA. This is a great box set to own. Jodi Beck has completed this series wonderfully. The stories can all stand on their own but read them all together. I am looking forward to reading more from her.

This book set is fantastic and a must read. Every book draws you and you don’t want to put it down. The writing is fantastic and so are the characters. There is love, danger, self-discovery, and more in each book. It starts with Alzerro taking Bree to pay for her father’s debt. Alzerro is the Mafia King and takes whatever he wants and does whatever needs to be done. He never thought one girl would change his life but she does. Then Alzerro learns something about himself how much love can change a person. She was just a debt never meant to be anything more than that but she is. She has the blood of his enemy running through her veins how could she ever be anything more than that. Will Alzerro be able to change and be more than he ever has been? Will he and Bree be able to find a balance and truth? In the third book you get to read about Devon and found out his story. Devon had once loved someone so much that he hurt her to free her. She could be so much more if he didn’t tie her down with his problems or at least that was what Devon though and lead him to make the decision to do what he did. He learns just how wrong he was and now has a second chance. Will he be able to fix things or will he just make them worse? In the 4th book we get to finally read about Jared. Jared is a broken man. He clings to a past where he was hurt. If he doesn’t let anyone else in he can’t be hurt. Jared learns just how much better things can be while protecting Isabella for Alzerro. Finally in the 5th book a novella we get to focus in again on Alzerro and Bree. They have settled into normally family life. They are married, have a daughter, and Bree is pregnant again. But is all this normally too boring for Bree? She wants the old Zerro back; he ruthless one, who took what he wanted. But, does she really want that version of Zerro back or she just worried about not being enough for him and him getting bored with their life together? I can’t say enough about how great this series is. You are taken on this great journey with these fantastic characters. Frankly I am sad that it is over and want more books with these characters.

J.L. Beck is new to me. I haven’t read anything by Beck before. I found that I thoroughly enjoy her style. As I read I could insert myself into the world she created. I loved meeting Zerro and Bree.
Bree’s father owes the mafia a boat ton of money. When Zerro comes to collect he takes Bree as payment since her father can’t pay.
This book has so many twists and turns it’s amazing. I love watching the interaction between the characters. To see how the relationships evolve.
Inevitable
Picking up where Indebted ends the drama builds and the strength of personalities comes out. We learn about many things that were behind the scenes the first book. I love the drama and I didn’t see even half the twists coming. I loved that.
Invincible
This book is about Devon – who we met in Inevitable – and Tegan.
We get to see into the past of Devon to learn why he is where and what he is. This character development style was freaking fantastic. I can’t imagine the books without him.
Watching Tegan and Devon interacting and dealing with their own personal demons was enlightening. I love all the curvy twists in this book.
Injustice
J.L. Beck does it again. I enjoyed the way the characters from the other three books are brought in as secondary players. It adds depth.
This story is about Isabella who gets rescued and is set up to be hidden from those that had kidnapped her.

Indebted blew my mind away! It is suspenseful, it is a dark romance that is full of hot sex that will leave you wanting more. Oh that Alzerro King!!!!
Inevitable picks up immediately where Indebted leaves off. Right from the very first page you will find that things will be quickly revealed and decisions made that will alter the course of the entire story!
Invincible is a story filled with heartache, forgiveness, love, hate, hurt, pain, angst and misery... It's so painful to read at times, it is filled with regret, misery, so much heartache but there will be forgiveness too, of course there will be lots and lots of danger too. This is not the typically book as are most in this series. So do not expect it. What it is, is a coming together of two souls that have been apart for a long time. Don't lose heart, even though Alzerro King doesn't play a big part in this book he does make appearances! Woohoo!

This is my first J.L. Beck books and she don’t disappoint. I couldn’t put it down when I first grab it. Bree is an innocent girl that have to pay a debt of her father. I felt myself into the world and let me tell you was beyond amazing. The interaction between Zerro and Bree is just enchanting. I love her, she is fierce and torn his world upside down. Can’t put it down, and the interaction of the couple was perfect!!! Cannot wait for the second part!

Begins where the first book ends and I loving it the concept, this author keeps you right on the edge, so much twist and angst. Inevitable was what I waited for and so much more. This author did an amazing job on this book, and you can catch the live of the mafia lover boy for me! Great job again.

An incredible collection of books! I loved each of these stories more as I read through them. Indebted and Inevitable are Zerro and Bree’s story and they’re hot, hot, hot! Zerro’s character is so mysterious and fascinating, he was definitely my favorite of all the books. I love the chemistry between Zerro and Bree and how Zerro starts off as this feared mafia king and ends up being Bree’s prince. Invincible is Tegan and Devon’s story and it’s equally as hot as the others. It was the most mysterious of the set, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! We end this series with a collection of dark reads. Jared is Zerro’s brother in-law and after going through a rough time is a recluse with a bad attitude. Zerro decides to try to get him out of his funk by deeming him babysitter of a young woman they've pulled from a messy situation. Isabella has been held captive for a long time and when she’s finally saved she’s placed in the home of the brooding Jared. It quickly becomes obvious to them both that they're not going to be able to keep their hands to themselves.
I really enjoyed the growth of each of the characters throughout the books and the fact that we get a bit of the past characters in the new books. This is as great book bundle and I highly recommend it! Can't wait to read more from JL Beck!

INDEBTED
This is my first book of this author. And I was apprehensive when I start reading it. But holy shit! I'm so happy that I read it when the next book of this couple is already out. Because the way it ended...I'm still in adrenaline mode.
This story cached my attention from the beginning. I love both Zerro and Bree. I loved Zerro tortured soul. His sweetness, which was a rare occasion. I loved even his darkness. I loved Bree. She's sweet and pure. You will think she would never fit into Zerro life. But you would be wrong. She has a core of steel. And though, Bree couldn't understand some of Zerros actions, she would always stand by him. She would even step over her moral line. She would kill for him. To protect him.
But at the end it seemed that love wouldn't be enough. Is it really the end of something that could be so precious in Zerro and Brees life?
It's really beautifully written. I couldn't drag myself until I finished the story. This is so much more than about a tortured soul of the man and sweet girl. Who might safe him. This goes deeper. It's a rare when I couldn’t tell which persons I could trust and which not. All looked suspicious. I think is a good sign, when all through a book you keep guessing who is the friend, who's a villain. You really wouldn’t be bored.
Okay I wouldn’t say more. Because I can't wait to sink into next journey of Zerro and Bree.

What a great series! I feel in love with Zerro and Bree in book one. They definitely have a love/hate relationship but that leads to some HOT sex scenes. The second book is also about Bree and Zerro. A lot more love in the second book.
Book three is Devon and Tegan's story. This is a great second chance love story. Great chemistry between Devon and Tegan.
Book four is Jared and Isabella's story. They are both broken but in their own way strong characters. They are both just trying to find a way to cope with the cards life has dealt them. It seems like they were thrown together by chance but as their relationship develops I felt like they were fated to be together.
The last book is a bonus novella, Infringed. This is a look into Bree and Zerro's life a few years down the road. It's a great story about their life and the issues that arise in their seemingly perfect relationship. Angst, passion and steamy scenes in this one.
This is one of my favorite series. Ms Beck has created a unique story with great characters. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a love story with a twist.

From books 1 up to 5 (and the bonus novella), this book is amazing! The characters are amazing, from the main characters to the minor ones. Books 1 and 2 are my favorite parts of the series. It's Alzerro and Bree's story. Book 3 is agent Devon's story and 4 is Jared's story (Bree's brother). In the bonus novella, Alzerro and Bree's.. Gah! I so love this series. It's one of my favorite reads ever. In each book, you will learn how sometimes sacrifice is important to make the love of your life happy and be the person you wanted to be for them. Each book has its own way that will make you love each story and characters. My favorite character is Alzerro! Despite his past and all, he's charisma is still there and his darkness just added his appeal! Loved him!!!
