I liked the characters for a while, but Quinn was just over the top. The book could have been several chapters shorter and needs extensive editing. She told Reid that her mother died, then several chapters later she told him again yet was written as if it was the first time. Sorry to be picky on the editing, but when I have to read the same sentence 2-3 times because the wording doesn’t make sense, it is a low rating for me. i.e. using the word withheld vs upheld.

There are some authors whose books you pick up knowing you're going to have a good time, and Mia Mara has quickly become one of those authors for me. The Wedding Situation completely pulled me in from the very first chapter with its witty dialogue, layered characters, and the kind of banter that had me smiling the entire way through. This is one of those romances where the conversations carry the story just as much as the romance itself, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

Quinn and Reid couldn't be more different on paper. Quinn runs a nonprofit dedicated to helping struggling couples save their marriages, while Reid has built a wildly successful career as a divorce attorney. Their first meeting at a wedding is anything but smooth, with playful arguments, undeniable chemistry, and one unforgettable encounter that neither of them expects to lead anywhere. When Quinn's nonprofit suddenly loses its funding, Reid offers her a deal she can't ignore: pretend to be his girlfriend through a string of upcoming weddings, and he'll provide the financial support her organization desperately needs. What begins as a mutually beneficial arrangement quickly becomes something much harder to walk away from.

One of my favorite parts of this story was watching Reid slowly challenge everything he thought he knew about love and commitment. Quinn's unwavering belief that healthy marriages are built through daily choices—not fairy-tale perfection—gave this romance so much emotional depth. Rather than relying on unnecessary drama, Mia Mara explores what it actually takes to build lasting relationships, weaving those conversations naturally into the story without ever making them feel heavy-handed. Reid's emotional growth was especially satisfying, and I appreciated that when the inevitable conflict arrived, Quinn didn't simply forgive him overnight. He had to truly understand where he'd gone wrong, earn back her trust, and prove he was willing to fight for their future. Even Quinn's father made it clear that "I'm sorry" wasn't enough, and I loved that the story honored that.

As always, Mia Mara balances heartfelt emotion, laugh-out-loud humor, sizzling chemistry, and meaningful character growth effortlessly. Between the fake dating, the wedding celebrations, the clever banter, and two characters who constantly challenged each other's perspectives, I was completely invested from beginning to end. The Wedding Situation is another fantastic addition to the Unintentionally Yours series, and it reminded me once again why Mia Mara has become an automatic-read author for me.

The Wedding Situation by Mia Mara is a book you cannot put down. Mia Mara knows how to write dialogue. Not only is her banter quick, witty, and smart, but it just keeps getting better in each book she writes. I love dialogue that carries a story. I also love books written in dual point of view so you know the character's thoughts and motivations. Mia Mara is able to kep the reader so engaged you can't put the book down by managing both apsects. Her characters are intelligent and mature. You just don't hink about their age as their actions are never silly or ridiculous. Quinn has a nonprofit that connects struggling couples to free marraige counseling. She believes marriages can be saved and believes in happily ever after. But she is not naive by any means. She is a cup half full person, seeing the positive side of things. Reid is a divorce lawyer who does not believe in marriage and he has the statistis to back him up. They meet when they are both in a wedding and sparks fly. When Reid has to go to multiple weddings in the coming months, he decides to ask Quinn to go as his plus one. Initially, Quinn pretty much laughs in his face. But, when she loses her funding, they strike a deal and the plot is set for them to have multiple interactions and many challenging discussions.
This book is just great! The author does not shy away from the struggles of making a marriage work, Reading the book for the insights delivered about keeping a marraige together would be worth the time alone. She recognizes that it is not the initial romantic high that will keep a couple together , but the day in effort to choose to stay together that makes marriages last. And yet, that insight is delivered in an engaging, delightful story that helps Reid understand himself and his experiences better. When the inevitable break up occurs, Quinn does not just welcome him back with open arms. Reid has to understand his motivations and work for her. That is appreciated to. An "i'm sorry" does nt take all the hurt away. I easpecially liked how her dad told Reid he had to work for it. That she deserved that.
Again, this is just a great book! Mia Mara just keeps them coming! I always go for her work. and eagerly await the next book.

I like the overall story line and can ignore some of the multiple typos , including the repeated misspelling of REID’s name . However , there are so many inconsistencies that cannot be ignored. WARNING : CONTAINS SPOILERS. 1) When initially told about the 3 weddings there was a Myrtle Beach wedding, but when discussing the details of the weddings with Reid , none of the 3 weddings were Myrtle Beach . Later when the 4th wedding was added for Reid’s colleague that was now in Myrtle Beach. 2) Immediately after Reid got the case with Michael he saw Grant while he was leaving and Grant was already representing Ashley. Then several chapters later Ashley goes to WE STILL DO and that’s when Quinn recommends Grant as an attorney 3) Michael and Ashley told Quinn they were going to sell the vacation home and donate the proceeds to her when they stopped by to say they were staying together, but then after Reid stop the funding, they tell her again and she acts like she didn’t know. 4) After finding out who Grant was , Reid leaves work right after , runs into Grant and tells him he was dating Quinn and mentions the funding also, but then after Quinn leaves the coffee shop, after Reid’s accusations and she went to see her Dad , Grant seemed totally unaware about Reid and Quinn dating . There may be more but that’s just some . If these can be corrected I would provide a higher rating . Hoping the author’s other books don’t contain similar issues.

This is the story of Quinn and Reid and oh these two are feisty in the best possible way. This book has a lot of banter between the two leads. Reid is a high powered divorce attorney and Quinn runs a not for profit marriage counseling service called, “We Still Do.” They couldn’t be more opposite.

Quinn believes in happily ever after and romantic love…. Reid believes in none of it. He thinks all marriages are doomed to fail. When Reid asks Quinn to be his plus one for a half dozen weddings over the summer, she agrees because he is willing to fund her not for profit when the business is short funding. What could possibly happen when you put Miss sunshine romantic and the grumpy grump together, lol. A lot!

I really loved this book and am sad that’s it’s over, but I’m guessing I will read it again at some point. Another winner by this author. The ending was just a tinsch rushed but other than that wonderful. Reid is a glass half empty that morphs to a glass half full and he is delicious. Gorgeous, older, masculine and in love with Quinn despite his resolve not to fall for her. This is a 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 star book.

This is a fun, witty read about opposites attracting. Quinn runs a non profit business trying to save marriages, while Reid is a very successful divorce lawyer with a reputation for being quite ruthless.

Reid is disillusioned and cynical when it comes to love, Quinn is optimistic and wears her heart on a sleeve. They meet as part of a wedding party and sparks fly as they clash, both finding the other extremely annoying yet unable to resist the snark. This leads to an agreement. Quinn will accompany him to his friends weddings and in return he’ll bail out her business.

The book is engaging and enjoyable, with a spanner in the works towards the end. This is where I would have preferred to give 4.5* rather than 4. Quinn gets badly hurt but after what feels like a token resistance, forgives him . The rationale for this is given, but at the same time the resolution just feels a bit rushed. At the same time we get a well deserved HEA.

The Wedding Situation is a romantic age-gap Contemporary that brings together divorce lawyer Reid and couples counselor Quinn, two opposites about to attract.
They meet at the open bar for the friends wedding they are both attending and it doesn’t start off too well when Reid goes on about how long relationships last and weddings being a waste of money.
Of course his comments don’t go over well with Quinn!
Their banter is priceless, and I caught myself laughing on many an occasion while reading. Especially after their little assignation in the wedding gardens when dislike becomes like for a moment.
Enjoyed their story which was an entertaining read that will soon become a fake relationship that benefits them both while it leads to more than either expected.
Nicely written with well crafted characters I enjoyed the fun, emotion, complications, and passion all the way to their HEA.

I wanted to like it but...

I liked the plot, the characters and the banter was great. How ever it was almost as if when the author was writing the story she took a year off in the middle of the book and forgot she had already told certain things and told us again but with different facts.

The couple tells her about selling a house and she's so thankful but then later they tell her again and she's shocked like its the first time.

MMC tells her he loves her and she doesn't care or acknowledge it. But 2 chapters later he says it and she makes him repeat as if she never expected him to say the words.

After his hair changed colors at the end of the book going from Mahagony to dark blonde I started to scratch my head and go back to make sure I was reading correctly.

like I said the over all story is great but it definitely needs some work.

This was another fun read from Mia Mara. Quinn and Reid meet at a wedding and discover they are complete opposites. She runs a non-profit to help put marriages back together, while he is a divorce lawyer.

Despite their differences, they make a deal to attend several weddings together as a couple. And that’s where the real fun of this book is. Because it turns out Quinn and Reid have at least two things in common. They both love to banter with one another. And they both are insanely attracted to each other.

I had a great time attending the weddings with these two, and watching them fall for one another despite their best intentions. In addition to the great characters and fun banter, you can expect a lot of emotion and some fantastic spice. In other words, another wonderful book from Mia Mara.

The Wedding Situation makes an excellent addition the Unintentionally Yours series by Mia Mara. I loved Quinn and Reid’s journey from their first meet. Their well-written story has such thoughtful, layered characters that bring what Mia Mara does best – all the feels. The heart-felt emotions, the interwoven struggle of love vs conflict, and the undeniable attraction. As Quinn and Reid travel through discovery, reluctant friendship, a spicy relationship, and discovery of facts and themselves, they both search for a happy ever after. The relatable secondary characters, the pacing of this story, and the developing of shared trust makes The Wedding Situation a must read. Highly recommended.

let down by editing

I enjoyed about a lot of this story. The banter was fun and the fake dating narrative arc, overall, was different enough to be entertaining.

However, my brain struggled with a few plot glitches (for example, a couple showing up and offering to fund the not-for-profit, then offering to do it again a few chapters later as if the first offer had never been made). Additionally, there were a few times the author named one character when they meant someone else. And a few spelling errors.
These glitches just felt like a real letdown.
Also, the big romantic gesture was very meh and the pacing was uneven (the middle section dragged and then the ending was rushed, not really giving the reader a satisfying payoff).

This was a lovely, fun romance. Quinn and Reid begin attending weddings together—she is his plus-one, and he has agreed to fund her nonprofit organisation.

As they spend more time together at each wedding, their relationship gradually develops into something more. However, everything changes when Reid discovers a secret about Quinn, leading him to end things between them.

Quinn and Reid are engaging, well-developed characters who truly come alive on the page. The supporting cast also adds depth and charm to the story, making it an enjoyable and heartwarming read from beginning to end.

Quinn and Reid could not be more different. Quinn runs a nonprofit providing free couples counseling while Reid makes significant money as a divorce lawyer. One believes in marriage while the other does not. After a brief one-night encounter at a wedding Quinn doesn't expect to ever see him again. Reid tracks her down with a proposition for Quinn to play his girlfriend at another series of wedding in exchange for saving her nonprofit.

What could possibly go wrong as these two opposites avoid their attraction for each other?.

Oh my gosh! Their first interaction was absolutely priceless—needless to say, more than sparks were flying between them. Reid and Quinn couldn't be more opposite, causing the tension between them to be explosive. Their witty banter was like watching a high-stakes tennis match, just waiting to see who would give in first. And them willing to torture themselves repeatedly while pretending was the perfect slow burn agony I love. Mia Mara has done it again!

I absolutely loved The Wedding Situation by Mia Mara! Reid, a divorce lawyer, and Quinn, who runs a nonprofit providing free marriage counseling, made for such a fun and unique pairing. Their opposing views on love and marriage created the perfect tension, and their chemistry was incredible from start to finish. This book had heart, humor, and all the swoony moments I wanted. I liked getting to know these two, their interactions were good and I liked seeing the change in them both and in their feelings for one another. They had good chemistry and I liked seeing them connect and start to be more open with each other. It was like a car crash waiting to happen as I read, one that I couldn't look away from and hoped it wouldn't be as bad as I was thinking, thank goodness for friends and family who helped them through the ups and downs.

This is awful. I don’t know if the author used ai to write the whole thing or just for editing, but it’s a mess. Plot lines repeated, Quinn tells Reid about her mother’s death then 4 chapters later tells him again like it’s the first time. Her clients tell her they’re going to donate to her nonprofit and then later they come in saying they’ve heard about her financial issues and would like to donate. Reid was fully closed instead of clothed. Literally dozens of examples of incorrect words, extra words that weren’t edited out, etc. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Quinn believes in love and goodness in people, whilst Reid is the top divorce lawyer who sees the worst in people for a living. As opposites go these two couldn't be more polar.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the feisty banter that Quinn and Reid excelled in. Especially all Quinn's cheery happiness rubbing off on Reid to the point that it changes his world view. Add in misunderstandings, disappointments, sexual tension, angst and sweet HEAs and this is another brilliant winner from this author.

WTF

Great story. But who or what the hell actually wrote it? The author failed to keep the characters straight, the editing was shoddy if it was even edited at all. I can’t believe that I actually finished the book… when there are so many errors it’s usually a DNF for me. However, I really liked the characters and knew there was an HEA, and honestly just wanted to see it happen. I probably won’t read this author again as I feel that the book was either written by an AI author or by an author who just didn’t give a s#%* about the product they put out.

Quinn has a non-profit marriage referral for clients that are headed toward a divorce because she believes in love. When she meets high powered divorce attorney at a wedding she does not know his reputation but they end up together at the wedding as they are the only single ones there. This is a cute snarky romance between two very different people who are having fun all the way through this book. Loved it.

Apposing ideas on marriage with instant attraction

Reid and Quinn are instantly attracted to each other while at a wedding and their apposing opinions on marriage bring even more sparks. There’s heat/steam with witty banter. If you are like me and find you don’t like Reid in the beginning, don’t give up on him and keep reading. You’ll be taken on a fun and emotional journey along with them to the end.

I could give you a million and one reasons why you should be reading The Wedding Situation by Mia, but then that would require me giving away some hot details about the book.
So, instead I am just going to say that this romance book isn't just FANTASTIC to read it's PHENOMENAL. I was intrigued by the prologue and OMG the cover is HOT STUFF.
Mia has written another 5-star romance story that had me instantly hooked, line and sinker from start to finish.

Feel good novel with excellent universe building makes this a fun read. Good pacing and plot. Reid and Quinn don’t follow the usual grumpy/sunshine or enemies/lovers tropes. They’re more of a fusion. For me, it made it a more enjoyable read. There is some angst and handled in similar fashion as her other novels. Same steam level. Snap it up. ARC via Booksprout.

Sparks and snark from the beginning. I really enjoyed this book despite a couple of inconsistencies and some wrong/missing words. Reid is hard to really like in the beginning but that changes as he and Quinn spend time together. I was blindsided by what happened during the breakup. Quinn more than paid him back when he realized he was wrong. A great HEA after all that angst.
