Reading this book felt like working through a hearty meal. All my studies of myth and mythological source material led me to this collection of essays. The topics ranged from categorizing different types of myths, understanding modern media, political influences of myths throughout history, studies of psychoanalysis, and speculations of myths to come. These ideas enriched my life in ways I don’t fully understand yet, and I hope that I can remember and incorporate them.
This book is a collection of various essays by different authors and some essays are quite great; others, not so much. There is no sensible flow from one essay to the next and it is annoying that the essays don't go together. Each essay, though, makes you want to delve into the topic it presents.
