Pips Secret Door is a magical read that takes you on an adventure in the fairy Woods, capturing the imagination of readers through believing and kindness.
This was a beautiful read, full of amazing illustrations and a storyline that brings so much joy while reading.
My girls absolutely loved this book and seeing their expressions on their faces while reading this book was just wonderful. They really loved the activities at the end of the book and found it was a great way for their imaginations to run free.

Do you believe in fairies? Faith does, she also knows that her Granny believes, but knows that there is more to the story than her Granny has mentioned so far.
Her younger brother, Harris, is not sure if he believes in fairies. When Faith takes him to the woods behind their house, they use their imaginations and start to think about fairies and making things for them.
Leaving letters for any fairies who might be around, it’s not long before Harris starts to believe too.
This is such a wonderful story for young children, who will also enjoy looking at the illustrations and talking about the drawings.
Having kids who loved fairies when they were younger, this book brings back many hours of joy and memories, making fairy doors and little ones writing letters and receiving replies, this story couldn’t not make me smile and feel happy.
I love that The Fairy Wood is a series and I’m excited to read more and learn about Granny’s part in the story.
At the end of the book, the author has put some mini missions for children to do. This is such a great idea, it gives children a chance to think about what they’ve heard from the story and come up with some ideas of their own to add.

I've loved all of Fiona's books so far and was really excited to see this new release and the start of a new series.
This book is the first of The Fairy Wood Series and follows Faith and Harris as they explore the woods close to their home.
Fiona's descriptive writing really creates a wonderful atmosphere to fall into and I always find reading the books really calming.
This story takes us on a mission to discover whether fairies are real and it was great to see the children working together to create a beautiful space rather than a trap to catch a fairy and get their proof.
This mission became something much more natural and magical and this took me back to my own childhood when I loved making fairy potions and little dens in my own garden.
All to often, the woods can be depicted as somewhere that's dark and dreary so it was so lovely to see how this story brings light and life into them and shows what special places they can be - fairies or not!
This was a much more wordy book than previous reads, aimed at older little ones, but certainly still a book for all to enjoy.
I think this would be such a great read for parents and children to share together and I especially liked that there were some activity ideas in the back of the book too, to do together.

I hadn't been expecting to be left on a cliffhanger though and was shocked when the story ended ...
I can't wait to see what happens once granny comes to visit and I'll certainly be following this series and eagerly awaiting book 2.

We absolutely love Fiona Lowry and her books, she's full of creativity that spikes our imaginations.
Pip's Secret Door is the perfect magical book that's great for primary school children who are learning to read chapter books - it's great for parents to read to their children, actually it's great for all.
My 7 year old and I loved reading this together. The magical woods with fairies - The question being Do you Believe in Fairies? My 7 year old told me the tooth fairy is definitely real which makes other fairies real too!
We loved how this story started, progressed and ended. The imagination of the storyline coupled with the illustrations throughout was a perfect blend. The chapters are short which makes it feel like the read is quick so you can read many chapters in one go. The magical letters between Faith, Harris and the fairy is just a magical moment and I loved how it put a big smile on my son's face as we read.
This book as with all Fiona's stories I found, has the message of kindness. I love how her stories are always promoting positive feelings and behaviour.
We love everything about this magical read. We can't wait to read what's next from Fiona Lowry!

I read Pip's Secret Door with our youngest Daughter over two bedtime stories. She's 10, and although she's a little over the recommended age, she still really enjoyed it.
We follow Faith and Harris, Brother and Sister. Faith is a firm believer in Fairies, but Harris isn't so sure. But that all changes when they discover a small door in an oak tree which leads them on a fun, magical adventure.

Blog Tour Review
This was a wonderful read, full of love, warmth and magic. I would like to thank the author for letting me be a part of the Blog Tour and giving me the chance to read and review this lovely book.
The writing was light and oozed childlike wonder. It was a lovely story that introduced the series well.
The chapters were short, but full of information. They were a good balance for a child’s early chapter book. The vocabulary used meant that a wide age range of children could read and enjoy the book.
The chapters each had a title, giving you a hint as to what you were about to read next.
There was a good flow and pace to the book. You were drawn in to each chapter and it was just the right length before we were moved on to the next bit. There were time jumps between each chapter which moved the story on well.
I loved the characters and how children could easily identify with them. I got swept up with the imagination, curiosity and magic that oozed from them and the story.
The illustrations dotted throughout the book were lovely and gave a nice pause. Each time you looked at them you could see something new!
The activities in the back were a lovely addition to the story. My sons loved making their own fairy garden!
Lastly the settings. I loved the magical surroundings. There were some lovely details that really brought the story to life.
Overall a wonderful story that was a joy to read. I loved the feeling of positivity when we had finished reading the book and look forward to reading more!
