Growing up, David K. Anderson was mentored by his Uncle Ralph, a gifted artist who taught him to express himself in creative ways: writing, drawing and sculpting.
David works for a non-profit organization in the Seacoast of NH that provides resources, supports and services for individuals birth through seniors with disabilities. He is married and has three adult children. Throughout his adult life, he has volunteered countless hours with children with disabilities involving creative activities. His lifelong passions for art, sculpting and storytelling have helped him combine his talents to create enjoyment for hundreds of children of all abilities. He is a member of the NH Writers’ Project. His family’s mutual love for fantasy, fiction, and fun along with a desire to ensure that children of all abilities can be heroes, has motivated him to write stories that engage us all.
As the story continues Christy along with other friends go in search of Cory who has decided he is going to find a cure for his paralysis. They need the help of Brad, Cory's twin, who is autistic and he will not go without Danny to help him communicate. Cory is separated from the group and finds his way into another section of the world by way of a conveyor belt. He is befriended by a girl and her brother when he helps them find a way of saving others of their tribe and they in turn help rescue him after he is captured by a separate group who wants to take all they can as slaves.
There is some very interesting twists and turns and excitement abounds as they try to complete their mission to get home.
I have enjoyed all the books on this series. I appreciated that while each character is an individual they al depend on the strengths of the others. Many of the strengths are surprising (Brad). I was moved when despite a characters misgivings they would bow to their friends needs and contribute to the success of the mission. Selflessness has always been my soft spot.
OK, I read this in less than a day. Very good read, I look forward to the subsequent books, because this books just screams cliffhanger. After reading the first 3 books in the series my thought was nice book. This book continues to develop the story line in greater depth and although I really liked it I find the teenagers to have very adult reactions to many situations. No spoilers here though, read the book & judge for yourself.
I forgot to mention in my previous reviews that the cool thing about these books is the real hero is a boy with Asperger's. So wonderful to read these aloud with your kids. Great adventure.
