This one was a little too weird for me, and I think something got wonky with the translation. Fritz seemed entirely too dramatic about getting a fish. When his mom and dad say no, he looks out at the rain and thinks, "Could it be that heaven was as sad as I was?" Golly Fritz. Calm down.

As someone who longed for a pet and who loves illustrations, this book rules.
