I liked this book. It was an interesting take on vampires, and I enjoyed it. The author really brought out the Washington DC setting, and she had interesting twists on the vampire mythology. To me the book felt a bit like a police procedural / mystery. Nikki and Walsh did a lot of investigative work and interviewing, then pieced together the pieces. We also got a lot of insight into her private life of a vampire clan. Oh, and I hate the new cover - I read the original 1995 copy.

This was a fresh take on a stale subject. Part of me wished she would do a series based on the characters. If you are tired of sparkly vamps try this book.

A good mystery suspense read. Although it is anti-climatic and a bit disappointing in the end, I enjoyed the characters and the journey they take.
