I have enjoyed Laura Leone's books in the past and this was one was really good as well, we have a bad boy hero Shady and an innocent studious heroine Clowance coming to see Shady to rescue her grandfather.

Clowance comes from a very eccentric and wealthy family and she has just finished another degree when she hears about her grandfather being on some wild adventure again with Shady, who has a very checkered history.

As it turns out her grandfather is financing Shady's life-long quest for the Riaza and Clowance ends up becoming a part of it. Shady has not always lead a very up and up life, too many women, skirting the law but he has mellowed down and for some reason Clowance the right opposite of him, attracts him and makes him feel things no-one else does, even coming before his treasure hunt.

The romance was the highlight of the book, fun, light and sexy, these two were so tender with each other while trying to keep their hands off each other or even when they were fighting.

Now, I am going to go back and try and read the book about Clowance's brother Ziggy.

Lightweight, fluffy romp. Not great, but enjoyable.

REVIEWER’S OPINION:
The characters are good. It’s a short book. This is a typical romance formula. The plot is ok but things tie up a little too neatly at the end. The events around the character Skippy are too coincidental and contrived, but acceptable. This book strikes me as a nice way to pass the time rather than to read for the experience.

STORY BRIEF:
Shady has been searching on and off for 15 years for the Riaza, a Spanish galleon that went down in 1715 off the Florida Keys. Currently he has partnered with Ezra, a wealthy 80 year old man to search for the ship and its treasure. Ezra’s granddaughter Clowance learns of this and tries to talk Ezra out of it. She worries about the danger to him and his health. Ezra won’t leave with her, so Clowance stays and becomes part of the venture in order to watch over Ezra. She has a masters degree in linguistics and history. Using those talents she does research with original Spanish documents to help locate the ship.
