Meet Julia Henway.

Her first language is apologizing, and people pleasing is her second. She anxiously organizes her life by the minute, and nothing, not even Tucker Sanderson—her adventurous childhood best friend turned sexy millionaire—can sway her from the safety of achieving her white picket dreams. When those plans go up in smoke, Julia is forced into the unknown.

Embracing her new life might be the key to earning back her old one. She asks her confusingly hot best friend/new roommate to coach her out of her comfort zone via “fun” lessons. First up? Accept her dream job inside the Chicago Legacy Art Museum, which is currently under siege by a rival competitor’s sabotage.

But betraying her old life comes at a cost.

When her intellectual property finds its way to the rival art museum, her career threatens to crumble unless she can expose the mole in the museum framing her.
The tighter she clings to her past, the more her future threatens to collapse.

Will Julia learn to let go?

Or will fear drive her back onto the path she’s always known?

There’s no way I can’t give this book 5 stars. I adore the writing, the words, the plot, the cover! 😍 So many things made me smile and laugh in this book. I’m also in love with the art museum setting and the descriptions of the pieces and the work. So fun to read! I’m don’t really know anything about art or the curating business so I can’t say how accurate it is, but I really enjoy it. The ending of this book was so, so good and satisfying. It truly felt like a triumphant ending to the book and the series!

Spoilers ahead:
That being said, I was in agony reading this friends to lovers story, as I always am with that trope. This one is maybe a little different than usual, as the MMC isn’t even sure he wants to be with the FMC due to their life goals/paths being apparently vastly different. Honestly, I found myself being frustrated with a man in his 30s that’s still figuring out what he wants in life.

And Julia (the FMC) — oh man, she has it rough in this book. Like, really really rough, multiple betrayals from people who should have loved her but didn’t. My heart was breaking for her and for when she made choices that made everything worse 😩 She came a long way but has a long way to go to figure out how to drop toxic people.

It’s also a bit painful to sit through the evolution of this romantic relationship. The friendship started in childhood so it has lots of immature aspects still hanging around — like punching each other on the shoulder, “dirty” jokes, and using each other’s full names all the time.

All that being said, these books are worth your time. You’re gonna love them.

Content warnings: more (gratuitous) mild swearing than I remember in the prior 2 books, more jokes with innuendo.

Full review to come. But, Melissa nailed the best friends-to-more trope in this story! The hilarious juvenile jokes, banter, actions, and pure love between these two was adorable!

I laughed (I mean I CRACKED THE HECK UP) I cried (happy tears) and I fell in LOVE with these characters and their story.

Best friends to more is done RIGHT by Melissa Lark. I’m sad this series is over, but I cannot WAIT to see what else Lark writes.

If you’re looking for a good time with depth, you’re in the exact right place. If I could give this ♾️ stars, I would. I know this will be one of my top books of the year.

If Melissa writes it, Im reading it👏🏻

This book didn't make me cry like the first to, in pain and heartbreak, but boy did it make me angry on Julia's behalf.

The world was so cruel to her and she was just so sweet😭 She took on the weight of the world and blamed herself for just existing. She was an anxious mess constantly and I just wanted to wrap her up and protect her.

Were not gonna talk about Dallas, I hate him as much as I hated Ryan in the last book and he doesn't deserve my oxygen.

TUCKER THOUGH😍 This man is the king of the Cinnamon rolls, the Alpha of the Golden Retrievers and the Biggest green flag.

I will swoon for him every single day👏🏻

I love the mystery that comes along with these romances, it helps build the intrigue and the anticipation.

The end of this book had my heart beating out of my chest, my eyes tearing up and then my brain explodingggggg.

Please for the love of batman on a stick, go preorder this book!!!!
