When the rules force you to deny whom you love, it’s time to break them.
Jonah is sick and tired of hiding his lovers, Olivia and Hank, from his wolf pack. But being second in command to the Alpha means he has to follow them, right? His pack would reject him if they knew his lovers were a jaguar and a coyote…a man and a woman.
When danger threatens Liv and Hank, Jonah comes out to his Alpha. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to bring his two families together, and keep everyone safe.
Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her hounds and her beloved wife, texting her grandbabies, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting, and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. Following their own personal joys, BA and Julia heard the call of the high desert and they now live in the New Mexico mountains. BA's personal saviors include her wife, her best friends, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.
Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to cowboy daddies to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which is committed to giving everyone their happily ever after. With books ranging from hard-hitting BDSM, to fiery passions, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon-holed by anyone but the voices in her head.
"Stretching the Rules" from BA Tortuga is a very cool book about the love between a wolf shifter, a coyote shifter, and a jaguar shifter. Jonah (the wolf) hasn't told his pack about his lovers because he fears for their saftey. He thinks that his mates would be in danger if his pack finds out about them. Olivia (the jag) and Hank (the coyote) wish that Jonah would change his mind, and even though it's difficult to not be able to be with him full time, they understand his predicament. Suddenly, Olivia and Hank are in a life threatening situation, and in order to save them, Jonah must turn to his Alpha and the rest of the pack to save them.
I liked this story very much. The love and chemistry between the three main characters is very strong. VERY strong. The sex scenes are amazing (and graphic)...seriously, seriously amazing. The action is well written and exciting. It's a relatively short book, so a lot of information is packed in, but it's not overwhelming. It's pace is just right. The one thing I do wish is that there could have been more information about the bad guys. It's revealed that they're a pack of hybrid coyotes, but I'd have liked to have known how they came to become a pack of their own, and what made them so evil. Perhaps there will be a sequel to this book, and I'll get to find out. I think that would be great.
So...if you like your MMF action (with BDSM thrown in) hot, your shifters badass, and your fight scenes brutal, then "Stretching the Rules" is the book for you. Check it out.

Wolf Beta, Jonah’s, loyalty is divided between his pack duties and his current relationship. He frets that his pack will shun him if his secreted relationship, with a female jaguar and a male coyote, is exposed. However, when Olivia and Hank are threatened nothing matters except protecting his lovers.
New-to-me author, BA Tortuga, drops readers into an established relationship…bypassing the courting stage and getting right to the good stuff. It was necessary given the short span of this novella, but I would not have minded witnessing them fall in love. This brisk tale did not completely satisfy my desire to see these characters find their Happy Ever After, but I gave me hope that it was possible --- and that is enough for tonight.

FourandHalfStars What a fun read. Jonah is a wolf shifter in a polyamorous relationship with a puma and a coyote which he keeps hidden from his pack. The dynamics of the various animals were interesting, and I was glad it wasn't solely focused on the Alpha wolf power/authority that most shifter novels seem to emphasize these days.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Jonah, Liv, and Hank. They were wonderfully drawn, all with distinct voices but with an undercurrent of being in sync with each other. I absolutely adored Liv. She was my favorite character in the story. I liked her sassiness, sensuality, and strong don't-mess-with-my-boys attitude.
Although I'm not usually a reader of erotica, the sex was well done. It was hot enough to melt paint but with enough love to satisfy my sweet tooth. For me, it was the perfect combination.
About the only thing I wasn't sold on was the end. It seemed a bit too tidy given how hard Jonah had worked to conceal his relationship. Because the story was short, there wasn't enough time to explore the situation more fully.
BA Tortuga has definitely sealed herself as one of my favorite authors. This story was an afternoon well spent. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads. Amy M

Liv, Jonah and Hank are a poly-relationship that I would love to watch. Yum! Their chemistry is off the charts sexy and the sex is loving and hot all wrapped in to some great Dom/sub tendencies. I wish there were more background in to how they met each other, but understand that a story can only be so long.
The dangerous situation was a little anticlimactic for me. I kept reading to find out if there was going to be more to it, but when I reached the end, and there wasn't, I was disappointed. In reality, I think that the characters development was slightly less than I would have liked too, but because they had such great chemistry in the bedroom, I rated the book a 4.
It was like reading about the poly-relationship was the main aspect of the book, not about the danger or even Jonah's pack and how they would handle the relationship. I felt that there was all of this angst about it and then it was not addressed in the story - at least not to the degree that I would have liked.
It was a decent story with each individual character showing their love in their own unique way, but I was left wanting more. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads. AvidReader
FourStars 4 Lusty Stars!! This is a short, sexyyyy, heart-felt glimpse of 3 shifters in a polyamory relationship, and the author got it spot on. I loved reading the sexy times as much as the non-sexy times. They are such a tight, loving menage.
There is a lot of sex haha I mean a lot! Keep in mind, they are animals so their sex-drive is plentiful!!!! YUM! I was captivated from the beginning, and it was actually a perfect length.
There are some heart-pounding moments, and I found myself tearing up.
I would definitely read more by this author! I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads. Reviewer: Kimberley
ThreeStar I had a hard time with this book because even though it's a shifter book, we don't get to see anyone shift (not really anyway). There wasn't a whole lot of info on the bad guys except that they show up at a bad time.
The trio is hot and has wicked chemistry. I'd have liked to see more of what the main couple does when Jonah isn't around since they talk about it a bit.
I did notice there were a few times when body placement was off and not physically possible to do (or touch).
However, overall, the writing was good and moved quickly. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads.
Jonah is in a polyandrous relationship with Olivia a jaguar and Hank a coyote the only problem is Jonah is the second in command within his wolf pack and the wolves hate coyotes! Jonah hates having to hide his mates because of prejudice and bigotry.
Olivia and Jonah are both incredibly dominant animals so they’re very lucky their Hank is an exceedingly submissive coyote but even better is the fact that they all love each other and would do anything to make sure that the others have what they need. Jonah is extremely on edge about the fact that his Alpha, Boothe is organising a raid on the coyotes who are encroaching on their land so when he gets a text from Hank and Liv about a dead cat nailed to the door of their cabin he freaks. He doesn’t know if he can trust Boothe with Hank and Liv’s lives considering that they’re not wolf and Hank is the enemy as far as the pack are concerned. When he doesn’t have a choice and has to tell Boothe about them he is surprised to say the least when the pack come out to the cabin to help him rescue his mates.
Once his pack know about his mates Jonah can finally move them into the house he has spent the las several years renovating to the exact specifications they talked about during their times together. When Hank and Liv see the house they realise just how much Jonah listens to them but how much he loves them, everything is straight out of their heads! It takes a while but they settle into their new home with Jonah but it’s so worth it, they get to see each other every night not to mention they get to have red-hot monkey sex all the time!!
Stretching the Rules is all about trust, you must have it to be happy. Jonah knew that he could trust Hank and Olivia with his life but his pack was a different story. He trusted them in so far as the everyday running of the pack but he didn’t trust that they wouldn’t turn on him when they found out about his mates. Not only did he have two mates one is a man and he’s a coyote. Thankfully Boothe turned out to be a forward thinking Alpha and welcomed both of his mates equally. I have no hesitations recommending this book to everyone who enjoys reading m/m romance.

A decent story of menage heat as well as a bit of a paranormal plot behind it, I really enjoyed the portrayal of a submissive guy in a Dominant/submissive (D/s) relationship who wasn't a doormat or total slave. Indeed, Hank was a vibrant and fun character and was overall treated like an equal in the relationship but who also happens to be a big ole bottom/submissive in bed. (His partners also seemed to be fulfilled by their Dominant roles while loving their "sub" as a full romantic partner.) In addition, I enjoyed the exploration of someone having to come to grips with and "out" himself as part of a poly/menage relationship.
I enjoy all kinds of D/s stories, from light pseudo-BDSM play incorporated into otherwise vanilla couples to very intense (even over-the-top) Domination/subjugation relationships. In this book, it was really nice to read something more in the middle. The Dominant/submissive roles were important parts of each character but there was also clearly romance, love, and respect intertwined (which is more closer to what I've seen in real life than I typically read in BDSM-flavored romantic erotica).

Original review on Molly Lolly Four stars! This is a sweet little story. Olivia and Hank try so hard to be strong when Jonah’s not there. Hank is so sweet in his submission. The three are so in love you can feel their sorrow when thinking about being apart. The sex is super hot between these three. The ending was really good. I liked seeing the three of them happy together and open about their relationship. I would love to see a sequel with James getting a happy ending. He was a great character in the short time we saw him.

Jonah loves his loves but he's afraid they won't be accepted. But when they are really at risk the pack has his back and they can finally all settle in together. I like how this one works out so well for all of them without anyone being anything but who they really are.
This is a sweet short story based on a secret relationship. I found it entertaining and enjoyed how three individuals were so different and showed how they love one another and stand as a team.
