This is a little 100 pages novella that is sexy and fun. Our hero Griffin Sark is a NYPD detective that was thrown out to the wolves by his superior to be interview for a puff piece aka 'show your abs and looks sexy'. The heroine, Tessa is the reporter who was responsible to interview him for her piece. Griffin might not be happy about having to 'whore' himself to the tabloids, but he is more than happy to spend time with the sexy reporter.

For a short novella, it is usually difficult to form a strong emotional connection with the characters, so what I'm looking for is something fun and sexy. We have a healthy dose of humor, especially when Griffin making jokes on bodice ripper with words such as 'aching cores and throbbing manhood'. But I would like to have a stronger lust between these two. They both have an insta-attraction, but Griffin is too much of a gentleman. I was there being all sort of sexually frustrated myself with all the holding back. I want him to rip her clothes off already.

I enjoy this sexy little read, but if there is more lust and more dirty sex, I think it will be even better.

ARC kindly provided by the author for an honest review.

Before I review this story, I wanna say something about short stories/novellas in general. They are really really hard to pull off. And as an avid reader, I've read my fair share and I've come to the conclusion that most authors really have no clue how hard they are to pull off. Subject matter is extremely important in pulling off a novella. If you make a storyline heavy or dark, your chances of pulling it off are close to zero. OK, so enough the dos and don'ts of novella writing (since I'm not even a writer lol).

Three word come to mind when I think about The Remingtons: Love on the Record: fun, light & sexy! THAT, my future readers, is a perfect formula for a short story/novella! Clearly, Zoe York understand the etiquette of novella writing! This isn't her first rodeo on this road (ya'll should check out her SEALs Undone series), and she does an overall exceptional job every time. He characters are well defined with not too much baggage and her stories are not riddled with heavy drama that is impossible to deal with properly in a novella.

SO, the story goes like this ... Tessa, our female lead, is a fashion reported trying to write THE story that will launch her career into the next level. One of her subjects is Griffin, our male lead. He's an NYPD detective. I don't have to read a single word to know that sparks are gonna fly one way or another in this story. Because seriously, what detective wouldn't want to be the subject in a fashion reporter's story or as Griffin so delicately puts it, puff piece.... LOL, that may not end well!
But hey, guess what, it ends well! LOL Griffin and Tessa have chemistry from the moment they lay eyes on each other. Yeah, Griffin doesn't wanna do the article, but hr really wants Tessa. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, right?!
Like I said ... fun, flirty, sexy, well written, great characters and a HEA! What more do you want? Get to clicking and read this story! You won't regret it #TRUST!

I was fortunate to receive a copy of this novella from the author for an honest review .
" Love on the Record" is a novella that fits into a series The Remington's written by Melissa Foster, with that said Zoe York's novella can stand alone, the cross over is small and early on in the story.
What Zoe York does and does well is give us two engaging characters that you can instantly relate two and she does this well in every book or novella that I have read of hers .

We first meet NYPD Detective Griffin Stark when he is allied into his Lueitenants office and informed that he is to be one of ten subjects of a newspaper article by the NY Dispatch, entitled " New York's Finest" l not optional he must cooperate, and no hitting on the writer, the article is designed to give a good face to the city's police, fire and Ems department! Once dismissed, he and his partner Daniel head out for some after shift beers at a local bar called Nightcaps, getting up to get another round, Grifin Nearly runs smack into by a petite brunette , and when she finally looks up he is all but bowled over and forget the next round of drinks he just wants her number , Tessa is looking for someone and has no time to waste since she is already late, he is suprised to that the person she is meeting inon other than Seinna Remington, the famous model, but Tessa am be short but in his eyes she is more beautiful.
These two spend time sneaking glances back and forth when Griffin send over shot with his card and the text begin and a date almost secured.

The next morning Tessa gets her list of city approved subjects for her article and is surprised to find Griffin on tha list ; he s equally surprised to find out Tessa is the writer of the article that he really wants nothing to do with. But if it buys him time with Tessa he will work around it. These two have an instant connection but Griffins feelings about the article definately causes some angst and misunderstanding between them. To,spite that when these two put the differences aside the temperature goes up and sizzles.
Being this is a novella , I am no going to give away anymore of the story line , lovely quick read !

I can't say it enough... Zoe York has a way with words! Her books ALWAYS flow perfectly! She has the tact to reel you in, it's so hard not finish her books in one sitting!

Tassa Martinez is a cute little "Ninja", as Griffin calls her. She is a reporter trying her best to keep her job. she's lucky to finally get a break, and is allowed to write a front page story, but only because the original journalist has to have gallbladder surgery. This is Tessa's time to shine. & God, her boss is such a witch! Gav the hunky detective he got trapped into being an interview subject. Only later to find out the subject of the report is New York's Finest Under Forty. As you can imagine that might not go over too well. These two meet when Tessa literally runs into Griffin in a bar. Hmm, does meeting like thus make the interview process easier? I'll never tell! ;)

So, read along and enjoy the story of Tessa and Griffin.

I loved how these two met, connected, and then it got slightly complicated, but not really! These two had mad chemistry, smart conversations, and a commitment to their jobs. The jobs is what causes some issues, but they work through it, and don’t shy away from asking questions and getting answers. You just knew they were going to make it, they were too perfect together not to 😊

Zoe York does it again. Love on the Record was an awesome book. It had chemistry galore. This book was sexy and fun and enjoyable as all get out. I for one love to read cop stories. They are alphas to their core. Ans so was Griffin, without being obsessively so. Tessa was a fashion reporter who has to write a piece on 'New York's Finest' and our hero is one of the unwilling subjects. What ensues is a lot of fun, flirtation and sexy times. A fast, good, enjoyable read that makes you laugh and smile.

***** "Love on the Record" by Zoe York

"Love on the Record" is one of several novellas which are a part of the Remington series by Melissa Foster. After her initial five books in the series, there are an additional nine novellas written by nine different authors. This is one of the nine novellas.

Zoe York has written a wonderful and fun steamy read about a NY City detective and the reporter who writes the "fluff article" about the first responders of NY, including those from the police department, the fire department, and Emergency Medical Workers.

When Griffin, a NY City detective, is chosen as one of the 10 first responders to be a part of an article written about their lives, both personal and on the job, he is not happy. In fact, he does as much as he can to be taken off the list of candidates, particularly when he finds out the article is a "fluff piece" to satisfy readers via social media and as a means of making money for the paper.

Tessa is the reporter assigned to the project. She generally writes about topics related to the fashion industry, but has been given the opportunity to write this piece due to another reporter's absence. It is to be a piece about NYC's finest and bravest that is sexy, vibrant, and "click catching" (a piece that will have readers passing the article along on Twitter and Facebook as much as possible).

Unbeknownst to either Tessa or Griffin, they happen to meet at the same bar the night before. It is lust and attraction from the moment Tessa almost runs right into Griffin, literally.

When they meet face to face the next day, Griffin makes it quite clear he is against being included in the article and tries to get out of it, which immediately sets Tessa on the offensive. The two move between major clashes to major flirting as their attraction toward one another is something neither of them can deny or ignore.

In time, Griffin comes to terms with being a part of the article and puts his negative feelings aside. Tessa, already feeling possessive toward Griffin, finds a way to meet the criteria of the article in regard to Griffin without making him too uncomfortable.

As they start dating, their level of physical attraction only continues to increase and frustrate them both as Griffin wants to prove himself worthy of her and states that there will be no sex until after the third date.

And when that moment arrives, sparks fly and needs are met in multiple ways leaving them both wanting more; sexually and as a couple. Sexually, the two are a perfect match for one another. As a couple they learn to support one another and to appreciate the good and bad of the others career choice.

As she does in many of her books, Zoe York finds the perfect balance in regard to story development, character development, and steamy scenes. The reader is drawn in from the very beginning and is fully engaged in the novella straight to the end.

The main story line is solid and realistic and one which the reader is easily able to envision. The main and minor characters are well developed and the reader will find that they can relate to them with ease. And the steamy scenes are tasteful...yet full of fire works and satisfaction and...steamy.

"Love on the Record," is a fast moving and engaging novella. Zoe has written a story that will definitely fit right in with The Remington collection.

Griffin perfectly fit the image I would have of a New York detective. He is honorable with a bit of an edge. I love how the hero and heroine meet - typical 21st century dating where the Griffin sends over a drink and his business card - and she texts him a thank you. It was fun to see a relationship start that way, before either of them realizes how intertwined their lives are about to become. Griffin is confident in his attraction to Tessa from the beginning, and I like how he doesn't jump to conclusions when it appears she's betrayed him. He really dislikes the "intention" of her article from the outset and manages to piss her off from the very beginning, which just seems to fit his personality perfectly. Tessa surprises me. I guess, coming from a small town, I expected her to be a bit more wary of a pickup in a bar, and riding the subway, and working in a cutthroat NY publishing environment. She was a refreshing surprise and I really enjoyed getting to know her. The sex scenes are a bit more prevalent in this book than some of the others I've read, but they didn't overwhelm the story or take away from Griffin and Tessa finding their love story and their happily ever after! Of all of the Remington World books, this one probably has the least connection to the Remingtons. Tessa consults with Siena Remington at the beginning of the book, before meeting our hero, but that is the extent of the tie in to the Remingtons. Nevertheless, this was a great love story between two potential opposites - a cop and a reporter. This book also provides us the best look at New York City through these eyes of two working-class characters, from hailing cabs and the subway, to the Mets game, and the depiction of the suburbs vs. the city. I think I got my best picture of New York City from this installment in the Remingtons world.

Griffin Sark can hardly believe when his boss tells his he was chosen to represent the NYPD on an article about the city's finest with regards to first responders (cops, firefighters and paramedics). Especially when he realizes the article implies a photo shoot. But when he discovers the pretty little ninja he just met at a bar is the reporter in charge of the article, all of a sudden it doesn't look like such a big sacrifice...

Tessa Ramirez is that reporter and she also can't stop thinking about the sexy man that offered her a drink. But when they meet to conduct the first interview, things don't exactly go well.

Griffin quickly regrets the way he acted and is determined to prove to Tessa that he can be a gentleman. Which is not easy when she is constantly teasing him and trying to make him act more like a rake than a gentleman...

The attraction between them is more than obvious and the longer they spend together and the better they know each other, the more obvious it becomes that they are perfect for each other. But can a relationship so recent survive the publication of the article?

I really liked this novella, that stole me hours of sleep last night. The protagonists are relatable characters and the chemistry between them provides for some scorching hot scenes! I had never read anything by this author before and it was a pleasant surprise, since her writing has a nice balance between story, hot scenes and humour.

I was given the opportunity to review this as an ARC from the author.
Welcome to New York! Author Zoe York tells the tale of Griffin, a hot NYPD Detective who is being interviewed by Tessa for a fluff piece that he is none to happy to have been volunteered for. Griffin's luck changes when he finds out he is being interviewed by the tiny little dark haired "Ninja" that he had met at the bar a few nights earlier. Tessa is struggling to find her footing in the fashion editor world and hoping to get Griffin to cooperate in order to do her job. He turns out to be a more than a little distracting as he keeps pushing to get to know her in order to make up for his initial bad behavior. Can Tessa find a way to make her article readable and make Griffin comfortable at the same time? Can Griffin learn to accept the article for what it is and win the girl's heart despite his commitments to his job?
Despite being a change of pace from the usual small town romances and military romances that I have come to know Zoe York for, she knocked this big city romance out of the park! I would definitely go for a date with Griffin, despite the fact that he is a Mets fan!

First off, I am a great fan of Zoe York, so finding out she was participating in this Kindle Worlds event was exciting. I like the way her characters come over as real and there is enough depth in them, even in a short outing like this one, to explore the dynamics of the relationship and personalities. Also enough to have some conflict and forgiveness before the resolution.

Griffin is an interesting guy. From the outset you would expect him to be hard-bitten and sarcastic, but he really isn't. It is clear that he is a romantic, and he doesn't use his desire for restraint to control Tessa. He enjoys her spunkiness and independence, and seems to be more worried about his job being a roadblock to happiness than hers. The flow of their relationship feels natural, sexy, but not so over the top that it falls into unbelievable range. They're both responsible adults and they obviously have great chemistry. What's not to like?

I would enjoy seeing a book about Griffin's partner Daniel, and maybe an opportunity to hear a little more about these two past their "happy for now" ending. Everybody can use a little more chocolate cake, even ninjas.

Griffin and Tessa...even the names are sexy! I love everything Zoe York writes, so I wasn't surprised that this novella was another winner! This is the second novella from The Remingtons kindle world series I read this weekend, both with the "at-first-sight trope, but this one feels more believable to me. It's lust at first sight, not love...maybe that's the difference. And even though it's a short read, I felt the characters were fully developed and interesting.
Zoe's books are sexy...as this one is...but I love how she made us wait for it. Griffin's trying to be a gentleman. Tessa doesn't necessarily want him to be, but it makes the eventual get-together even hotter for me. And Griffin is a cop...what could be better than a hot, build cop? (okay, maybe a fireman :) I also liked how there really wasn't a big mistaken identity conflict. Other than their first meet, they know right from the start where they stand.
Awesome book and I love the NYC setting...very different from Zoe's Canadian settings in her other series (which I love too). Definitely buy this book!

I received an ARC for an honest review...thanks!!

Tessa and Griffin's relationship may have started out on lust but that didn't mean they were jumping onto each other's skin right away. Griffin was just too much of a gentleman and I really admire that. Griffin had scored some points during their first encounter especially after that sweet ninja drink. So when Tessa found that Griffin was one of the participants on a New York's Finest interview she had been assigned to , she couldn't help but felt excited to get to know Griffin more.

The interview however didn't go as well as Tessa imagined and Griffin certainly didn't score more brownie points as their opinions clashed and Griffin didn't like having to sell himself. However, he did try to make amends for his bad behavior and Tessa found herself being won over by him.

Despite this being a novella, the story didn't feel rushed and I felt it ended well. Zoe York has a way of reeling you in with some humor, some tension and boy the sexiness as well.

I was gifted an advance copy of this book by the author in exchange for a honest review.

Whether it takes place in a small town or in a big city, Zoe York knows how to write an engaging romance. Love on the Record by Zoe York is part of the kindle world of the original Remington Series by Melissa Foster. I haven’t read any of this author’s books but if they are as good as Ms. York’s they are worth taking a look at reading.

Griffin is one of NY’s finest as a police detective. Handsome, honest and hardworking, he is the epitome of what a police officer should be. The problem lies in the newspaper article reporter Tessa is told to write. There is instant personal attraction between these two.
If only Tessa’s boss was as honest as Griffin.

A very satisfactory read even if it is not a long read. This novella has a fun lighthearted feel to it even with Tessa’s work struggles. The story flows quickly and smoothly providing enough conflict between these two over the interview. Griffin and Tessa are likable. I also liked Griffin’s coworkers, thinking I would like another story about either Daniel or Lt. Jones.

Received a copy from Zoe York in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun read! The whole Kindle World thing is fabulous in my opinion, and I love when other authors' characters can make appearances in other "worlds". Zoe York brings Griff and Tessa to the world of the Remington's. Tessa is a journalist who unfortunately has to write articles that get the clicks -- and not always the stories she WANTS to write. Her editor has her writing a piece on the city's finest -- and some of the bachelors are giving her troubles...

Namely Griffin.

These two were cute. I loved that Griff was opinionated about the article (rightly so) but still went through with it. The unlikely relationship just sort of... Happens. Tessa and Griffin got along fabulously and he trusted her and her words pretty quickly (...almost two quickly, in my opinion, but it worked).

Altogether, I enjoyed reading about these two! This was a well thought out novella with an adequate timeline. I wish we could have more after 'the end', though!

First and foremost.... Woohoo Zoe! Thank you for letting me review this!

Now to the good stuff!

Mans man cop ✔️
Reporter Lady who seriously needs this story to help her break into the big time ✔️

Let me say that this novella was fun, fast, funny, sexy and easily enchanting. In typical Zoe fashion, she's sucked me into yet another of her stories. While not overtly sexual it had enough to make me pant and really just maybe steal Griffin for myself. Now this isn't all peaches and cream, there is turmoil but hey! That's what makes a book that great! The interaction between the two characters is very well written and worded so that I, the reader, could easily identify with each character. The humor was fun but not overdone. Zoe has done a great job in incorporating her general writing style into that of this series! While I'm not a usual fan of insta love I find that in this instance, it works! I mean hello! It's a novella! Kudos to Zoe for another fab. Story!

Griffin and Tessa meet in a bar and the attraction is instant. Then, things get complicated when they discover that she is the reporter assigned to interview him for an article that ihe very reluctantly agreed to be a part of on NYC first responders. Lines are blurred when the interview becomes a first date of sorts. Their chemistry is palpable through their verbal sparring and eventual love scenes. Griffin's character is endearing in his rough and sexy way. Tessa's character really made the story for me. The combination of vulnerability and outspoken brazenness was so well-done. I've come to expect nothing less from Zoe York's writing. Her characters are always well-developed, and the plots are realistic and have a depth to them that is often hard to pull off in short-story format. If you haven't already, check out her Seals Undone series for more short, sexy, and sweet stories.

Man I love Zoe York! I really enjoyed this read. Her characters are always pretty ingenious and savvy, but Tessa, she is a person who makes us believe she is not as gutsy as she really is, but then turns around and blows us out of the water. I found that pretty awesome. Now Griffen, he is the typical smart aleck tough guy cop, but he really is a big ole marshmallow when it comes to Tessa. She has him on a short leash without really putting him on one. The other thing I liked was although he started to jump to conclusions, he remembered that everything has a reason, and it doesn't necessarily mean that that she would throw him under the bus even though he started it. I would like Zoe to revisit this couple at some point. There is still a lot of story there. If you want a great quick little read, definitely snag this one.

I loved Griffin and Tessa’s story!

Griffin is blindsided by his Lt. when she tells him that he was picked for a “special project” by the Commissioner’s office. They tell him that is a piece something like “Our City’s Finest” a puff piece on first responders. Griffin is not happy about it and tries to get out of doing it.

Tessa is a fashion reporter who is going to be doing said puff piece on Griffin. While is trying to keep herself from getting the boot at her job.

Tessa full steam ahead bulldozes into Griffin when she is going to meet the model Siena for a meeting. Griffin cannot take his eyes off of Tessa and ends up sending her and her model friend a drink. Little does he know that tomorrow she will be contacting him for a very different reason. Will the disgust for this task that Griffin has been tasked with end the budding romance or will love blossom?

Leave it to Zoe York to give us a really steamy intense romance leaving us wanting more. Tessa is an under appreciated blogger/reporter assigned to a story about the brave first responders in NYC. Griffin is her first interview and doesn't make her job very easy. There's a heat between the two of them along with sassy banter and cop talk. This was a relatively short book having read it in an afternoon but I really wanted more. There was a gift Griffin gave Tessa that left her giddy and I thought the reason behind her reaction would have been explained but I was left hanging. As part of the Remington Kindle World there was only a slight connection with that series, so York's book are really unrelated and stand alone from the main series.

If you're looking for a new story from Zoe, then look no further. I loved the story about Tessa and Griffin. She's a fashion reporter for the New York Dispatch and he's a detective with NYPD's 19th Precinct. When she's given the assignment to write the article Finest Under Forty, Griffin isn't too keen to be interviewed. It helps some that they have previously meet and have an instant attraction for one another. What's going to happen? Will Tessa and Griffin become a couple? Does Griffin approve of the finished article? I don't want to give anything away, but I promise you won't be disappointed with this book.

You can't go wrong with a romance that has a hunky alpha male with a badge. Tessa has been assigned to write a piece for the newspaper she works for on first responders and in doing so she meets homicide detective Griffin Sark. From the very beginning sparks are flying.
The last thing Griffin wants to do is be part of a fluff piece for a local newspaper, but being close to Tessa makes up for the headache inducing spotlight that Griffin has to endure.
I'm loving the books in this series and looking forward to reading more about The Remingtons.

I absolutely loved the story between Griffin and Tessa. They were instantly attracted, but sparks flew when it turned out that Tessa was a reporter looking to interview some fine police and firemen (first responders) for a story on New York's Finest.

Even though they got off to a semi-rocky start, their chemistry was hot and explosive, and I was happy to see how easily they grew to trust each other so that what looked like a betrayal was reconciled.

The story was both sweet and steamy. I love how Tess was a small bundle of energy at only five foot tall, but with a heart big enough to take on one of New York's toughest cop.

Griffin is a detective with NYPD. He's been engaged, but his hectic work schedule hasn't been conducive to marriage. Or, he hasn't met the right woman. Now, he's been assigned to do a fluff piece on NY first responders, with a reporter! Just what he didn't need!!
Tessa is a fashion reporter for The NY Dispatch. She's not afraid to speak her mind, except to her boss. The two meet and realize they'd been flirting at a bar recently!
A sexy romantic novella with NYC's excitement mixed in! Enjoyed the characters, verbal volleys and localities as seen from the authors views! Would love to read more!

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Sometimes I discount those reviews becuase there is an assumption that the review will be more positive than is really deserved but please don't do that here. Zoe York really is a master at writing novellas and once again she manages to create a rich enviornment with a comprehensive storyline and characters that you can't help but care about. She has the ability to immediately draw you into the main characters lives so that you really feel like you know them and can understand their perspectives. If you enjoy a great story in a small package then this one will definitely appeal to you.

Tessa Ramirez has a story to write. It's a fluff piece on first responders under 40. Who knew that the guy that bought her a drink a couple days ago would be one of the article's subjects. Detective Griffin Sark does not want to do this interview. He doesn't want to be known as the pretty detective. What lengths will he go to for a date with the beautiful reporter?

Short, sweet romance in the city. This story is a Kindle World novella set in Melissa Foster's NYC, the world of the Remington's and a standalone Romance by Zoe York. It's a fabulous, fun and sexy romance.

Griffin and Tessa are what I would consider opposites, but people always say that opposites do attract. Griffin is a police detective and Tessa is a reporter and they meet when she has to do a piece on Griffin. Of course there are some snags along the way in their whirlwind romance. She knows that the article has to be written one way but she can't seem to keep her heart out of it. Will they bend enough for her article or will it break them completely?

I love all of Zoe's books and this one is no exception. Its fast, flirty, and fun. What more could you want.

While this is a contemporary romance, it is definitely out of the normal for Zoe York. Where most of her novels (SEALs books not withstanding) are based in Canada, this novella takes place in NYC. However, that does not retract from the level of amazing that is this story. I absolutely loved this story, and really hope we hear more about this group in future books. I especially hope to find out about Daniel's, Griffen's partner, story. This was just one of many stories in this collection. Be sure to read them all as each is a wonderful story taking place in the same place.
