CAYLEN D. SMITH was born and raised in Southern California. She published Ripples, her debut young adult novel in the Guardian Series, at the age of nineteen. Now, five books later, A Thief's Game, is her first book in The Robyn Hoode Chronicles. Smith holds a Bachelors Degree in English. She enjoys reading, drawing and attending plays and musicals.

Actually I loved this book.
I wasn't expecting much from a writer I've never heard before. But this is a really really good book which held my attention with the many twists and turns.
The characters were well thought and I noticed a progress in writing style.

I liked how the story flowed and built up to it's peak. Loved reading about Aly and her friends' path to search for her half-sister and the cast of characters they meet along the way. Some scenes are very visual and leaves you with a clear picture of this fantasy land. The story kept me wanting to read more. The ending is unexpected. It perfectly sets you up wanting to read the third book - now. This is the second book in the Guardian Series. I read the first book and I can see how the characters are growing and developing into adults. Perfect book for young adult, fantasy, adventure lovers by a talented young author!
