Three parts, one life. Havana, Arkansas isn't exactly the picture of mystics and magic, and Lynnie Russell is anything but special. But on the night of her twentieth birthday, Lynnie learns quickly you can't judge a book by it's cover.
Her becoming was only the beginning. This...this is where the action begins.
Part One - Becoming Havana, Arkansas isn't exactly the picture of mystics and magic, and Lynnie Russell is anything but special. But on the night of her twentieth birthday, Lynnie learns quickly you can't judge a book by its cover.
When an unexpected encounter turns deadly, Lynnie discovers myths and legends are alive and well in her tiny little town and she is at the center of it. Her world is quickly turned upside down and the quiet existence she once loathed is nothing compared to what she has become. In the end, her becoming is only the beginning.
Part Two - Existence Lynnie has become something the world has never seen, something she fears, something wild and as natural as death itself.
Searching for answers to what she is, Lynnie heads to the only woman she hopes will never lie to her. Finally content with what she has become, her instincts take over and she finds herself trapped in a situation that could not only expose her true nature, but turn deadly for the people she loves.
Her becoming was only the beginning of the story. This...this is where the action begins.
Part Three - Ascension Trying to put Havana, Arkansas behind her, Lynnie is becoming a woman and learning to be the beast that dwells inside her. When old friends come back she must decide where she belongs in the world and learns letting go is harder than it seems.
With Puck as her ally, Lynnie braves the world and becomes what she was always intended to be; vengeance. Yearning for acceptance she does the unthinkable and travels farther than she ever imagined and into dangers she never expected.
In the final piece to her story, Lynnie learns just what it means to be Cu Sidhe.

This is a great start to this trilogy. There are so many questions racing through my mind about what will happen with Lynnie. I can't wait for the next book. I was really left hanging and wanting more. Really curious on what exactly is happening with Lynnie and why certain people know but are so cryptic about it.
Existence ~
Amazing book. If it's been awhile since you have read Becoming - Lynnie Russell part 1, I recommend you re-read it first. With that said, I could no put this book down! RM kept me on my toes for the entire read.
Lynnie is still coming to terms with what she is now. She knows she is Cu Sidhe.
Nanny is her voice of reason, helping her understand. "You are not a monster, Lynn. You are a creature put on this Earth to keep balance." "You are not the beast. The beast is you."
Lynnie does come to terms with the beast. "I am Vengeance. I am Justice. I am Death. I am Cu Sidhe. I am the beast and the beast is me."
We also get to meet a new character named Puck. I am on the fence about him though. He says he wants to help Lynnie. But what's in it for him? Is he telling her the truth? With RM, you never know which way she will take this. I love how her stories aren't predictable and keep you guessing and second guessing yourself. And right when you think you have figured something out, BOOM, it's not what you expected at all!
Can't wait for the third book now!
Ascension ~
I love Lynnie, so I'm very sad to see the end of this trilogy. This was a great ending, or new beginning, how ever you want to look at it. The story comes full circle in this book.
Lynnie is with Puck the Puca. She is learning to control her beast. Puck is helping her, he wants her happy and needs her to help later. But he wants her to see places first and travel.
After several years, she finally visits back home. This was her last visit.
After warnings, she goes to Knockma. The true reason for her being Cu Sidhe comes out after she learns the mistakes she has made and a betrayal.
Lynnie made me very proud at the end.
"...my friends call me Lynnie. So far, I've ben pretty happy with that. This is my account of the day my life changed forever. As best I can remember it anyhow. Now, normally someone would start their story from the middle, at the point of action begins. I think this story is better told from the beginning. Not back to the day of my birth, mind you. I will start my story just before I was born, for the second time. The day I became..."
I really wish there is more Lynnie, but there won't be. She is an awesome character, that's for sure.
