Have you ever wanted someone so bad that you didn’t care about the possible consequences that came along with it?
Tamia was getting ready to find out...
She was starting her sophomore year at East Florida University, and all she wanted was a fresh start, meet new people, concentrate on her studies, and avoid drama if all possible. That all changes when she meets her roommate's brother, Kellen
Danyell A. Wallace was born in Alaska and is currently living in Alabama. She’s a mom to three awesome kids, and a wife to an incredibly supportive husband. When she’s not using her imagination to write very adult, very sexy books, she’s reading, spending time with family and friends, watching football, and catching up on TV shows that she has saved on the DVR.
Wanting You is the debut story by Danyell A. Wallace, and it was a good effort. Y'all know I love my young adult angst and drama, and this one does not disappoint!
Tamia is a young college student who after a year of studying at community college decides to spread her wings and attend a larger university-out of state. She's a beautiful, confident young lady, and I was instantly drawn to her. There was no "Oh, I hope I make friends and they like me" mess going on. She was on a mission, and that was to get educated, but you know when you see that one dude, and well...oh yeah, about that education lol...
Tamia makes friends instantly, and this story has a host of great supporting characters: Her roommate Katie, brother and sister duo Jay and Tasha, Ashley, and last, but not least, Katie's brother and Ashley's boyfriend Kellen. Kellen takes one look at Tamia, and it's a wrap...And this is where the juicy drama begins!
This story is fast moving, and I mean everything happens in a matter of months from the beginning of school through the end of Thanksgiving break. While the storyline was very entertaining, I would have liked to have seen more development of the relationship between Tamia and Kellen. Their attraction and romance was instant, and poor Ashley...I'm trying not to give any spoilers, but I'll just say, Kellen wasn't shit for the way things went down, but all parties involved were guilty. DRA-MA! I also enjoyed the lil glimpse we got of Jay and Katie-who knew?! Maybe there's a story somewhere for them too. Hmmmm...
Again, solid debut for author Danyell A. Wallace. If you love young/new adult romance, then this one's definitely worth a read. And you know I loves a sweet lil epilogue. They're always the cherry on top;)
Very excited to have read this first book from this new author! I found it to be very entertaining. Couldn't put it down!! Looking forward to her future books!!
Well, this hot Lil number was an awesome fun read. This is a good get away from it all book, a lounge in a hot bubbly bath and let these two hot as fu$k characters blow your mind with love and lust and the best part a happily ever after. I recommend this book to all you who love a quick fast pace sexy read. Tamia and Kellen will take you on a steamy ride that will have you doing a happy sigh at the end.
I do remember reading some back when it was called Wanting You, I'm so glad Ms. Danyell revised and added more to this story. She has easily become a favorite author of mine and I'm so excited to see what she will be writing next.
That was fast!! So Tamia who is a Georgia Girl by the way goes to college and instantly become friends with her roommate. When Kellen is introduced to Tamia, he is smitten with her. Trying to hold his feeling in because he has a girlfriend, Kellen can no longer fight his feelings for Tamia and gives into his desire. Now the only thing that pissed me off was that she was quick to runaway instead of listening. But other than that it was a nice quick and I do mean quick read.
I think the plot was good, it’s execution however wasn’t. I felt like most of their interactions were shallow or sexual. Kellan wasn’t the greatest hero on different accounts. Like after Tamia found out he was still with Ashley. He put forth no effort to apologize really. He was more like “i’m sorry I need you to forgive me.” After he had sex with the girlfriend he didnt want. Like if you really wanted to break it off you should’ve stopped her and talked to her then and there instead of letting Tamia see her hang all over you. But yet you want to “claim her.” Then the way she lost her virginity. Oh my gosh. Like not to say she can’t be on top but I feel he didn’t try to make her feel special. She got up afterwards and he just laid there. I feel they only had like one serious conversation through the whole book. Tamia did run away alot without getting facts. Definitely needs better communication. Katie was all friendly with ashley but then calls her out her name because she sent nudes to her brother. So yeah this was really lacking and could’ve been wayyyy better.
Ok, aside from the story being far too rushed, I could see where the author was going with this. A good idea overall but too many spelling mistakes did it for me a d I am NOT that bothered about picky little errors at all. The writing was stilted for the most part and didn't seem to have a steady flow. The characters were ok ish, I feel as if they could have been a little more original though because they all pretty much seemed the same. I think with a bit more wore and attention to detail this could have been a whole lot better.
I have had this book for ages and I have only just got around to reading it. Its not a very long story but what I loved about it was, it dealt with the couple and their issues and their interactions with each other. The minor characters were just that minor. I would read another book by this author.
Very nice young adult book. Only thing not predictable is what happens with the ex-girlfriend's pregnancy. Sweet, decent sex scenes, and decent chemistry. It's a way to pass time.
I'm in love with this book and author, the writing it feels real, like real people. Real emotions. As a young adult myself, I find her writing and characters familiar :). Eagerly waiting for any other books this author has to come
Wow!! Wow!! If you are looking for a good book to spice up your current collection, this is the book to add. Suspenseful...drama...and romance all in one.
Setting: Current times. Georgia and University of East Florida.
Trope: Insta lust/love. Virgin. Cheating.
Characters: 1. Kellen Winston, hero, is a senior at the University of East Florida and has a live in girl friend. 2. Tamia Smith, heroine, is a sophomore at the University of East Florida. 3. Katie is Kellen's sister and Tamia's roommate. 4. & 5. Tasha is Jay's sister and Jay is a good friend of Kellen and Katie's beau. 6. Ashley is Kellen's live in girl friend and his baby's mama. 7. Liz and Gary Winston are Kellen and Katie's parents 8. Gail and Mr. Smith are Tamia's parents. 9. Chandler is Kellen's son by Ashley.
This is a messy story. Kellen and Tamia first meeting was the start of their attraction to each other-especially for Kellen despite his having a live in girl friend, Ashley. Once the attraction between Tamia and Kellen progress to him going down on her, Kellen decides to break up with Ashley when she returns from a modeling gig. Much of this story is too far fetched and predictable. Ashley returns and has sex with a tired dreamy and horney Kellen who thinks it's Tamia the virgin initiating oral sex and intercourse. Things go down hill from there but in the end, cheating Kellen and his cheating girlfriend it pregnant and have a son and Kellen becomes a single daddy. He and Tamia get married and raise his son and pine for their first born. I had hoped I would like this story but is was a disappointment.
This book was one that, in my opinion, was rushed and the plot of the story did not have much substance. I feel like the book could have been very good, but there was not enough time to deepen the plot as a whole. I feel like there was no character development and the writing was as good as I hoped it would be. I had never read a book from this author and based on this read, I most likely will not. A lot of the relationship was very superficial and was based on sex alone. The relationship between Tamia and Kellen wasn't one that I found interesting to read about and also Kellen did not know much about Tamia, nothing was mentioned by him about who or what kind of person she was, most of what he liked about her was how she looked. The whole cheating debacle with Ashley and Kellen is also something that I wasn't to fond of.
The ending was cute and I always love a happy ending but I really wish the book had more depth, with the plot and the characters.
This wasn't a bad book, but it wasn't one of her best. This was nothing like His number one Fan and I think that's what I was looking for. I didn't like how fast Tamia and Kellen got together especially since he was with Ashley when they started kicking it. And I definitely didn't like how fast Tamia gave up her virginity to Kellen. The good thing is that I finished the book and didn't just stop, even though I had to force myself. I was so excited to read another book by Danyell based on her other books, but I was highly disappointed. I think I like the supporting characters better than the main characters. Hopefully her next book will be better cause this one lacked depth and was more superficial than anything.
I was worried at first. This story seemed to be all over the place with no climax. Then it happened. It wasn’t epic but it grab me and I held on till the end. I wanted Kellen to be a bad boy but he wasn’t. Heck, he wasn’t even aggressive. He was kind, sweet and caring. He made a perfect partner.
I didn’t understand Tamia’s need to run from everything. It seems like she didn’t trust Kellen. I guess I can understand.
Tamia was cheated on and let that rob her of a year of school then turns around to be the other woman. She was immature with the situation regarding Kellan’s phone and Ashley. Then she overreacts again jut because Ashley states something about Kellan. She doesn’t give him a chance to speak. She runs off recklessly
If Kellan and Katie parents are so rich, why does Kellan have his own place but Katie has a roommate? That didn’t make sense to me.

If I could ave given half stars this would have been 3.5. I really enjoyed the book but Tamia had an irritating habit of storming off and refusing to talk. Characters that do that are my pet peeve, I acknowledge that there are people like that in real life so I decided to star up.
The ending felt a little abrupt but it was a goodread.
I know my rating is 4 stars but this book was just okay. I think it is because Tamia got on my nerves. She wasn't my favorite heroine, she irritated me with all the running and never talking. The man had a life before you, goodness. I also hate it when stories use a baby as an obstacle but it is what it is. I applaud the author for putting her work out.
Not the best writing by Ms Wallace. **spoiler alert*. This storyline was so predictable … from the ex-girlfriend using her key to get into Kellen’s apartment & the current girlfriend showing up … to the Ex saying she’s pregnant to Tamia- the current girlfriend. I was bit disappointed ☹️ Okay read - not great read.
If there was a warning about cheating, I did not see that. Other than that the story was good. Not my fave because of all the drama but still a decent story. I read it to the end despite it not being my style.
It was okay. I liked it. Tamia was very confusing to me. I’m some aspects she was very mature, but immature in others. I was upset with Kellen too. He could’ve broken up with Ashley before perusing Tamia. “On a break” is BS. Find me when it’s a full stop.
This book moved really quick, but it wasn’t a bad read until the end. I dislike when authors create drama due to the woman overreacting or not hearing the guy out. It’s sooooo annoying and the quickest way for me to lose interest.
Not going to spoil for new readers so I'm gonna say I like the original and the changes you made show your growth as a Author I look forward to reading more of your books.
