thank you so much to stevie knight for the arc of this book!! i appreciate you so much <3
after the absolute cliffhanger in the last book i was so glad and excited to be jumping into this one!! stevie knight has hands down become one of my new favourite authors, and i can’t wait to read whatever she releases in the future. anyway, back to this masterpiece. quincey <33 she is me and i am her!! i’ve rambled about it in stevies dms more then enough, but i’ve genuinely never related to a character, let alone an fmc across any book/movie as much as i do her. and i don’t even know where to start with thallor. well first of all i want to say that i absolutely loved that we got to read from his pov in this book. it was so fun but also interesting actually getting to understand his thoughts. the both of them as a pair were so much more developed in this book (not that they weren’t in book 1) which was really noticeable, and something that i appreciated a whole lot. i don’t want to say too much other then my main thoughts as i dont want to spoil this book for anyone looking forward to reading it, so i will definitely be back a little after release day to update my review fully!! but wow 🥹 i loved this book so much, and i couldn’t recommend this duology enough <33

I know an author is good when I enjoy book two of a duo/series more than book one. It shows that an author is thoughtful and their heart is in it.
I love Quincey and Thallor so much! They were funny and deep in book one and they are even more well developed in book 2. Adding in the dual POV in book 2 was a super nice touch. Thallor having a pov gave a glimpse into his thoughts and feelings from book 1, not to give any spoilers!
The characters really came into themselves in this book and the growth from book 1 to 2 for both the character and SK are noticeable!
Other than the main plot, book 2, Devotion, touches on self development, grief in a different way from book 1, and important relationships other than romantic. The book really highlighted the perspective of not only an impact someone has on you, but the impact that you have on others and the ripple effect.
Overall, I LOVED the ‘LOVE IS HELL’ duo and I look forward to other books Stevie puts out!

Devotion follows Quincy our FMC after the worst breakup ever, completely in bits her support circle attempt to cheer her up by making her join her two best friends on a road trip they’ve been planning since forever. Just as Quincy is starting to feel somewhat normal the very man who broke her heart turns up to her road trip with no recollection of who he is and she is the key to getting his memories back…
and ps: he happens to be a demon ✨
Where do I even start besides the fact Malediction had me clutching my pearls at the last 20% of the book and I could not put it down and then we got hit with that cliffhanger so I was so excited that I got chosen for an ARC of Devotion!
I have such a soft spot for Quincy even if she does make silly decisions sometimes and doesn’t listen to literally anyone who has her best interest at heart… I loved Quincys character development and I just genuinely understood her my socially awkward baby.
Then there was Thallor. WHERE do I begin with this man, the chokehold he had me in and his grumpiness always made me giggle especially when he was always scaring Isaac 🤭
I don’t want to spoil anything in the book but if you love paranormal small town romances, with the most perfect found family, where the FMC summons a demon accidentally you NEED to pick Devotion up!
Devotion is out on October 1st and this is your sign you should go put it on your never ending tbr ✨
