Cabin Fever
Harper Quinn boards Dreamboat Cruises determined to keep her sister’s wedding afloat.
Instead, she’s thrown emotionally overboard by a cabin mix-up that traps her in one very compact stateroom with Finn Gallagher, the best man she’s spent years avoiding like an incoming hurricane.
Finn has always been too confident, too charming, and far too good at getting under Harper’s skin. Now he’s also the guy she has to climb over just to reach the bathroom. And the longer they’re stuck together, the hotter the air gets. And it has nothing to do with faulty A/C.
When the wedding plans start capsizing—missing décor, scrambled schedules, and “accidents” no one can explain—Harper and Finn become the reluctant duo trying to keep the big day from sinking.
Saving the wedding is the mission. But surviving close quarters with Finn? That’s the real challenge. Because cabin fever spreads fast…and Harper’s already catching the one bug she swore she wouldn’t.

A story about saving a wedding which takes place on the aurora cruise ship, would be ideal to read while on a cruise holiday.

Harper and Finn are so cute. It’s adorable how they gradually go from hating each other to falling in love through the course of the book. It was so sweet how intent they were to save their friends’ wedding despite all the problems. This is a definite must read.

Thank you to Book Sirens for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Cabin Fever was a cute, easy, entertaining read. I liked Harper and her lifelong friendship with the love interest, and I understood why she wasn't interested in treating their relationship like just another vacation fling.
The chemistry between them was cute, too. My biggest issue was that there was just SO much miscommunication. These two have known each other practically forever, and I kept finding myself thinking, "Have you two seriously never had a conversation about this?!" They were apparently talking about each other to their siblings, yet somehow no one ever thought to mention the obvious. I know I'm probably being a little bit of a book brat here, but eventually it became difficult for me to overlook.
I also struggled a little with the foundation of the whole situation. I kept wondering why they had to share a room in the first place. On an entire cruise ship where the staff is essentially there to accommodate your every request, surely a different room could have been arranged? And then there was the groom's decision to risk sabotaging the wedding. There was an explanation for it, but I still found myself sitting there thinking, "Okay...but WHY?!"
Because so much of the story depended on those circumstances, questioning them made it harder for me to fully buy into the rest of the plot.
The cruise aspect itself was fun, but ultimately felt more like a backdrop than an important part of the story. And while I enjoyed the characters and was definitely rooting for them, the story was somewhat predictable and gave me a little bit of The Unhoneymooners vibe. That's not necessarily a bad thing and I enjoy that kind of lighthearted vacation romance, but it did take away some of the wow factor for me.
Overall, I was entertained while I was reading it, and that's exactly what I need from a book. This was cute, fun, and easy to get through. I just don't think it's one that's going to stick with me for very long.
Cabin Fever was a solid, lighthearted vacation romance that I enjoyed in the moment, even if it ultimately fell a little flat for me.

Thoughts:
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Another cute installment to the Dreamboat Cruises series. Harper embodies the eldest daughter (although I can’t 100% remember if she is the eldest) to a tee, organising everything for a wedding on the cruise and squashing emergencies almost as soon as they arrive. Then Finn arrives and becomes her cabin roommate and throws everything in the air. I loved that Finn instantly saw her burden and started to try ease it, helping with setting up and supporting wherever possible. Finn and Harper are childhood friends which makes it all so much cuter as they have a full history already and a few inside jokes already which led to some great banter at moments. Though this feels like a romcom at times there are some real moments of vulnerability with childhood traumas and supporting each other as a four. Also the fence moment was the cutest thing and really showed the depth of the emotions and characters. I can’t wait to see who gets on a Dreamboat Cruise next.
Favourite Quote:
“I wonder if our most empty parts can't be fully stitched up by ourselves. And not because we need someone to love our brokenness away, though that certainly couldn't hurt. But because it's the act of opening our hearts to love someone else, even when they hurt us, that provides the balm.”

The Dreamboat Cruises series just keeps getting better!
"Cabin Fever" brings us two likeable, relatable main characters with a well-developed shared backstory, forced by circumstances to share a very small cruise ship cabin. The supporting characters are fully fleshed out, and I fully believed in the bond they had formed growing up together on Larkspur Street. I cheered for all of the core four, and I'd read the heck out of a spin-off focused on Priya if Ms. Gunderson has that up her sleeve.
On top of the forced proximity, childhood friends-to-enemies-to-lovers dynamic, wedding escapades, sightseeing, and family drama, "Cabin Fever" even serves up an engaging cozy mystery! Cynthia Gunderson is spoiling us!
My only critique is that I would have preferred a bit more detail on what Harper has been up to in her adult life before boarding the Dreamboat Aurora. I wasn't sure whether she was a professional wedding planner or someone with transferable skills, nor whether or why she was tied to living in California. A solid paragraph explaining her career and why she lives where she does would have gone a long way. But these are minor complaints, and I recommend this book overall for anyone looking for a fun romcom!

Ok the entire time I read this book I kept thinking this story sounds so familiar like something I have already read. I love Cynthia Gunderson books so for me this was a let down. However, the storyline 4 childhood friends growing up together until a father gets caught taking other peoples money truly good. 3 of them stay friends while the other one drifts on. Theo and Dahlia are getting married. Finn is Theo’s best friend and Harper is Dahlia’s sister. When things went down Harper kinda had to grow up fast and made sure life continued. Finn was dealing with his own issues but apparently Harper didn’t know because she was so wrapped in her life. To save money on this wedding Finn and Harper get put in the same room. Yep forced proximity, unrequited love as a child and still having feelings for each other. Oh it goes down. It is funny while the characters figure themselves out. If I could just figure out what book maybe Katherine Center book??? I don’t know but usually Cynthia Gunderson books are so original. It’s ok I still love her and her stories.

I received this book as an advanced reader copy and I am so excited to be able to leave a review!!
I have quickly added Cynthia Gunderson to my auto-read list of authors. When it comes to sports romance (specifically hockey and pickleball) romantic comedy type books, she is one of my favorite writers!
This books was no different. It’s the 3rd book in the Dreamboat Cruises series.
Dahlia and Harper, sisters who live next to Theo on one side and Finn on the other, the foursome quickly become best friends. But when Dahlia and Theo decide to get married, it turns out Harper and Finn have some secrets of their own to work out.
Not to mention, trying to hold a wedding together while someone else is cancelling expensive wedding plans, and Finn and Theo are having whispered but heated conversations about telling someone something important before the wedding.
With all the little twists and turns, you may think you know who’s up to no good, but do you really??
But then as the best man speech turns into a little bit of a tear jerker, everything falls into place!!

Harper has planned a 7-day cruise for her sister's wedding. She wants everything to be perfect yet the father that left the family was invited, changes mysteriously occur, and Finn is asked to be the best man and ends up sharing a cabin with Harper. Finn grew up next door and Harper had a crush on him. Now that they are grown up and back in the same room, she has reservations. I loved all the work Harper put into the wedding. When there are some glitches, changes can be positive. Finn's best man's speech was priceless.

‘Cabin Fever’ was delightful. The plot includes a sister’s destination cruise wedding, financial straits, sharing a room, humor, reminiscing, an estranged dad, sabotage, joining forces, eavesdropping on a conversation, turning to a family member, a confession, and a grand gesture. Moreover, Harper and Finn, the protagonists, were made for each other and gushed with chemistry. I kept rooting for them. Additionally, I appreciated the author’s vivid descriptions that created a lively tone. Overall, I liked the amusing narrative.

Love this easy to read enemies to lovers, forced proximity story. You really can’t escape when you’re on an extended cruise at your sister’s wedding and the one man who annoys you most is the best man.
Growing up with Finn was good for Harper until it wasn’t. He was the kind of guy girls swarmed to while she was the girl whose picture would appear next to awkward in the dictionary. Childhood emotions and misunderstandings separated them for years.
The push pull attraction in their reluctantly growing relationship is written perfectly. Each wears a facade that covers hurts and insecurities. The hesitation and the hope that bleeds out of each of them invested me in their story.

This is somewhere between a novella and a novel but delivers on all the Gunderson goodness which is ooey, gooey feel good love stories in a clean, fun, and fairly fast paced storyline. There are zingers of truth, bits of time for introspection, but for sure feel good fun reading.

I don’t know that I agree with Dahlias assessor Theo’s problem solving skills, but oh well.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The main characters Harper and Finn along with Dahlia and Theo were very thought out. Their back story and coming of age shows how they can make things work. Very relatable
No spice in the book which I think the author could develop and make book longer but liked it just the same.
