Be careful who you let in your home..

Where did Freddie come from? It’s a good question considering all that’s been revealed about her. A vampire witch hybrid is very rare due to the history between witches and vampires. Digging into the past isn’t easy and might not be the best idea when it brings new danger. For every question answered a new one arises. And a danger nobody could have ever seen coming... Who is Freddie really?

Everyone is not what they seem...

Aside from finding the truth about their daughter-in-law the Harringtons have other problems. They succeeded in their efforts to unite nonhumans so they aren’t just responsible for the vampires now. And the tension between humans and nonhumans is becoming explosive. Navigating around betrayal and deception, they try to hold things together. But what can you do when danger is in your own home?

Brit Andrews lost a book when she was 8-years-old and has been writing stories ever since. She is a life long reader who has always loved all things paranormal, supernatural, fantasy and sci-fi often with some romance in there. It took her 30 years to decide to get serious about publishing a book but she got there eventually. Somehow she survived 39 years in a family of non-readers. Brit lives in Pennsylvania in a house full of shenanigans and boys. If she’s not reading or writing she can be found sewing and making book character pops.

Bedevil had me hooked with its tropes, but it was the mystery surrounding Freddie’s past that really kept me turning the pages. I needed to know the truth about her birth parents and understand how her past connected to everything happening in the present.

There’s something about a character with secrets waiting to be uncovered that immediately pulls me in, and Freddie’s story definitely gave me that. The questions surrounding her past kept me curious, and I enjoyed watching the pieces slowly come together.

And let’s talk about those tropes. Brit Andrews knows how to give readers the kind of tension and chemistry that makes you want to read just one more chapter… and suddenly it’s way past bedtime.

Overall, I enjoyed the mix of romance, tension, secrets, and mystery. Freddie’s past had me invested, and I was definitely along for the ride to see what would be uncovered next.

A good choice for readers who love romance with a little mystery, complicated pasts, family secrets, and enough tension to keep the pages turning.

Bedevil is the sequel to Bewitched, continuing the story of Freddie and Cannon and their chaotic family. In this story, we get more answers on why Freddie was being targeted, and let's say this was a wild one because I never expected that the past would come back, but in a different way. What I mean is that Cannon's parents were right, it was someone from back when Freddie was conceived, but it's not who they expected was trying to kidnap her. In this book, we learn more about her birth parents and how she is actually more powerful than we thought she was. Her actual bloodline is more feared than the Harrington bloodline, even as a half-blood. A lot gets revealed in this story, and some of it was heartbreaking, like damn, I felt useless at one point because of how strong the emotions were and what was being described. This book was a roller coaster of emotions for me, but I enjoyed it. Throughout this, Freddie is still pregnant and still dealing with a bunch of nonsense while trying to bring her baby into this world. I need my girl to catch a break because she's better than me, and I would have said fuck all this and left. But she is a real trouper for handling all this new information amid the chaos it brings. As more secrets get revealed, the situation gets deeper because of the cliffhanger at the end of the book. Now imma be honest, I fell for the first time in the first book. Now the author has got me twice in this book, so there will be a third book coming out, and I'm excited to see where all this goes after the ending. (ARC Reviwer)

The continuation of Freddie and Cannon's story brings SOME answers, but leaves us with a lot more questions, and, honestly, I'm grateful. I love that this world is getting a full trilogy so we can really get a chance to have all of our questions answered.

And yes, I said trilogy, so expect another cliffhanger-ish ending to this one!

I received an ARC of this book. Thankfully I had bought the previous book (Bewitch) at the beginning of the year, so I was able to read both books back to back. This book was good but I felt like I didn’t want it to end and it could’ve gone on a bit longer, but then I realised there’s probably gonna be a third book in the series so I can relax. Enjoyed this book and this alternate universe.

The twists keep coming. I am so caught up in this series. I love the story element from Ella's birth parents and their emotions.
