The story is a bit of a mixed bag, I nearly dropped the book when the MC raped a girl and then the girl fell in love with him instead? What The Actual Fuck?

Still, I appreciate how the authors deals with the gray areas between right and wrong, how he shows the different layers of his characters' personalities and reveals the complicated relationships among those characters.

The murder mystery also comes as a pleasant surprise, at first I was so certain that the MC (who managed to marry the daughter of an important man and wormed his way into the top office of a huge enterprise)had killed the young woman to protect his secrets, but in the end the murderer is someone else instead.

It's not as great as a works as the author's previous novel 'The Human Proof' but it still worth the reading.
